This card is the absolute package. This is what the Apple Card should of been. The application process was easiest and fastest credit card application process. My bank wouldn’t link to the app so I have to email copies of bank statement and i thought i would have to wait a week - nope! Less then 24 later i got an email for approval, just had to confirm my address for the card and done. The app is a little getting use to but it’s designed around the digital world. THERE IS NO website access or iPad access. It is STRICTLY iPhone app access. My favorite is the brand partnership, i use about 90% of the companies for the points to earn and if i shop somewhere that isn’t you can boost your purchases for limited time. Once you figure it and use the card right, you can earn A LOT of points. This will DEFINITELY compete with my AMEX. Be carful and monitor your spending, don’t get out of control. My limit is more than 10K… They will approve you for thousands, they do they to help utilization. Look it up!
Love it so far. The rewards are pretty basic. The metal card and marketing around that is gimmicky, but the virtual and one-time cards feature is a game changer. I know a couple of other providers like Cap One let you know virtual cards, but no one makes it this easy. I have slowly moved all of subscriptions to X1. One subscription per virtual card. That way I can keep track/cancel as I need. Game-changer. The one-time use card is also fantastic for shady websites. I think Apple Card has a similar feature where you “refresh” card numbers each time, but that’s much more finicky to use. I prefer this design. Overall, very happy with this. Didn’t even cost me a hard pull, highly recommend.
I had been in the waiting list for months and was overly excited when my invitation arrived. I went through the application process and was most excited about the no hard pull of your credit. I was a little skeptical about giving access to my bank account but thought since there was no hard pull I would make an exception. So to my shock when I’m the next day I get an alert from Experian saying X1 had pulled my credit! This is exactly what o didn’t want, another credit card inquiry on my credit report. To say I was heated is an understatement. I went online and found reviews of people saying this had happened to them and they also read and were under the impression that this card was only a soft pull. I wish they would be more transparent and say that they also pull you credit after you are approved. I still would have applied but probably would have waited until another time when I hadn’t just had my credit pulled for something else…
Racking Up Too Many Points? They’ll CLOSE Your Account
They will absolutely close your account if they get jealous of you making lots of points. To the person that said “this is the Apple of cards”…? I don’t think so buddy. Apple, or any other ecosystem/service provider for that matter, will NEVER intrude into peoples personal lives. They don’t have to! They have better things to do. But not X1 my friend. X1 will ABSOLUTELY monitor, intrude, and JUDGE you, and SEEK a reason to pick on you… close your account, and then tell you it was part of the T&C…. specifically if you’ve done some great work around points haha :) and they will find that reason to close your account, and get it done within hours. I have witnesses, friends, and a good handful of examples. Oh and also their employees will lurk you on LinkedIn and other social media…. Their defense is that they can use any means to look up someone’s card activity usage. Say GOODBYE to Privacy with X1 card :)) P.S. don’t even get into this mess. Go with Sapphire, AMEX Gold, Apple Card… ANYTHING….. but this privacy intrusion bank. Thank me later.
I used to LOVE the convenience and functionality of the X1 card. Especially the ability to super easily create virtual and temporary card numbers in the app. I attached many important services and subscriptions to this card. Then my experience changed. I woke up to my charges getting declined. I went to the app to see what could be wrong. “Your account is on hold. You must provide additional security information”. No text message asking me to confirm a recent charge, no phone call about a security concern. Just 100% shut down of all my card numbers and account. I did the extra security measures in the app. Take a photo of drivers license. Do a 3D scan of my face. In my view, it is not acceptable to block my entire account to ask for these things. If they needed them to be in my account or updated every year, etc, they should have asked in advance vs locking my account. I complete the extra security steps. But instead of releasing the hold like the original app message said it would, it now says, your account is still on hold and “under review”. So, no other options to get my account unblocked. I think, ok, I’ll just call the number on the back of my card and get it sorted out. But guess what? No customer support phone number on the back of the card. In fact, no support number anywhere on the website or app. Only text or email support. So I text. And convey the urgency of unblocking my card. And no response.
I’m expecting my credit score to take a big hit next month. X1 issued me an account with a 18K limit and a 30% APR about 8 months ago. I applied and excepted the card only to boost my credit score by having more available credit. I had no plans to use the card except for an emergency because of an interest rate bordering on usery. It’s definitely exploitation but that’s how the game goes sometimes. I’ve only charged around $300 total in 8 months and have never carried a balance. They lowered my limit to 7K and sent me an email saying if I start using the card they would consider raising it again. Losing that much available Credit is going to cause my credit score to take a pretty big hit. I regret applying for this card and I will probably end up canceling the card all together out of principle. I personally recommend Apply for the Apple Card or another Goldman Sachs issued credit card. Wells Fargo is also aggressively issuing credit. They are much better alternatives than this company.
Very nice smooth app, I’ve not encountered any flaws and customer service has always been helpful and fast. My issue is this, how fast they’ve ALREADY altered their rewards program. I am a man of consistency when it comes to just about everything. When I first applied for this card in 2022 the rewards were if you reach a certain spend amount they would triple your points for the year which would give you ultimately 2.1 percent back on everything. Good deal. Then I look today in 2023 they’re now changing that program to a measles 1.4 percent on your first thousand spent every month and only get 2.1 on purchases made after that threshold monthly. That’s bogus. Smh. Always a catch sooner or later. May or may not continue to use this card when my year is up
This is what every card has to be. I was approved and the card got added to my apple wallet immediately. Excellent. Next the card allows me to create virtual cards on the fly in such an effortless manner that I can only wonder why the other banks are not offering this feature. Additionally the card provides the best points out there. So far I would use CITI double cash for everything which would give me a 2% cash back. With x1 after you spent 15k you get 3% back that you can spend within a vast number of places. Highest points return card with no limit on categories. Spend anywhere and get 3% back.
Vlad Tenev now owns X1. Vlad, the guy who owns Robinhood, the beginners guide type of app into tje stock market. The guy who loves Payment for Order Flow and to make money off of you buying a share, and him giving you an IOU for that share until the price drops and he buys the share for cheap while pocketing the difference. (Theory is that they never even buy the share and pocket your money from the start). Vlad is not to be trusted and has tainted the free and fair stock market, thanks to Apex Clearing, late January of 2021. Huge rabbit hole, but in the end, Vlad is a criminal and the most recent email X1 sent out and the alarming confirmation by customer service representatives means this acquisition is real, and scary. I signed up for the X1 card waiting list YEARS ago, and I have used the card ever since approval and loved the boosts and how quick the point redemption program was and now I’m not going to use it and X1 means nothing to me. See ya.
I’m not one to write reviews, but these people deserve some recognition. Every detail of my experience so far with this app and company has been unbelievably smooth. It’s been so smooth I’m kind of still waiting for the ball to drop. Like, their has to be a catch. Applying is smooth. The card shipment was quick and smooth. The app setup is crazy slick. Setting up auto payment is simple, fast, and for the first time ever for me, you even have options about how often you want to pay (and you even get rewarded). They’ve left no stone unturned. A lot of hard work went into this and it shows.
Very simplistic and clean, looking application, which allows you to simplify your life. And a time where everything is hidden and made hard to take advantage of the benefits. It’s nice to see a Card doesn’t care about having you jump through hurdles to get cash back. He clearly shows anytime you make purchases or cash back. It is easy to make payments into add other card members. It is easy to add a partner and not have to show all purchases, which is great during the holiday season ! Very excited about my new metal card and would refer anyone who asks.
I’ve only had my card for a few weeks now but the customer service has been hands down the best I have ever had to deal with! The fact that I can text the company and have a real person text me back within a very short time period and have a nice conversation to handle my needs says a lot! I hope they never lose this close interaction with their customers! And I really liked the sleek presentation when getting the card. You have a lifetime customer here after only a handful of interactions!
I’ve been using the X1 app and card for a few months now. I’m really impressed with the user interface and the engaging weekly rewards multiplier boosts. The X1 card has quickly become my go-to card because of how fun the app is at helping me maximize reward points compared to the next leading card in my wallet. Plus, today when I had a technical support question, they answered me via text with a solution that worked on my first try! Can’t think of too many apps these days that deliver that type of service. Kudos!
I am disappointed with credit limit, it will not cover all of my autopay accounts. On the other hand, impressive point programs, I think the Friday choice day, for gas, food etc, Is pure genius. Looking forward to“Pound “ the Points!!! Great Card . This makes my Fourth Metal card I love the laser logo. Can’t wait to tap it on the bar and get the party folks ‘Asking what card is That ? I’ll text you the addy. If she is a crazy 8 on the ten scale I say, hey let’s sit down And I’ll Hook You up! I love the Referral Points. Thanks guys
The app is only as good as the product behind it. The 3% has now changed and only available on the amount over $1000 spent each month. I’m taking advantage of the 3% this year until my term lapses. And it’s only 3% at certain vendors. I think the team has promise and are adapting, so hopefully they will make necessary changes before going away… Otherwise, back to the solid Double Cash and other 2% cards. Confusing for newcomers too. It only shows 2% because after my 1yr of 15k spend, they go back and give me the 3% after my 1yr. However this plan is gone for new folk. Good luck X1 team. I was SO looking forward to not using anything else now and in the future too…
I have to say I was very impressed with this card. I loved everything about it. I’ve had the card now for about a year. The only think I’m disappointed on is the redemption value. Cash is 60% to the dollar and most place require more than one point to equal the cash value. What’s the point of giving 2 points to the dollar if it requires that to redeem for cash? The overall functionality is great and the card is beautiful but doesn’t quite exactly sound the same as they say it should!
Hate to see that this card didn’t work for some people because this is my favorite credit card to use out the bunch I have. The app is super appealing, they give big credit lines, and it’s easy to accumulate cash back. I’ve never had any issues with transactions or making payments. If your on the fence about applying for this card because it’s not coming from the Chase’s, AMEXs, Capital Ones, etc.. of the world, don’t be scared! Highly recommend!!
Title says it all. $0 annual fee, slick mobile app, cool features I have yet to use (such as auto-expiring virtual cards) and with enough spending, better rewards (3%) than other cards out there. BUT, big capital "but", the vendor list needs to be rapidly expanded to include more merchants - airlines, hotel franchises, Uber/Lyft - just to name a few (and that's just within the travel category). Once X1 secures a vast array of partnerships, I think this card will be close to unbeatable. Three stars for now since the reason I got it was for more rewards as a % of spend. Rewards don't do me any good if they can't be redeemed usefully.
GREAT app. So refreshing to see a credit card company focusing on building a viable everyday card with a user friendly app. I use this as my everyday card now, and anticipate getting 3x points for the year. That alone (since it can apply to EVERY purchase once you pass the spend minimum) makes this a better option than the Apple Card, Citi double cash, or other 2% cards. I also really like the trial cards and one time use cards.
My favorite card, but with some poor UX recently. Sleek, nice app, loved ability to make virtual cards. After a very frustrating weekend of my card being turned off due to a bug, then turned on again, then flagged for fraud multiple times, a customer service manager reached out once everything was resolved. Appreciate the attention to detail with their service, and the ability to text CS to resolve issues is excellent— wish all banks and cards had that.
Absolutely game changer card! Your new daily credit card!!!
X1 is the standard for all credit cards to follow going forward. X1 was in now my daily credit card for all purchases. Outstanding rewards program that maximizes your spending power! The ability to create single use virtual card is perfect for online use. Customer service responds immediately which is critical. You won’t regret joining X1 community.
Pretty decent credit card overall. Some nice features such as one time use transactions. Card was overnighted shipped. Only issue I have with the app specifically is it doesn’t time out. You stay logged into your account after exiting it no matter what including when you view your card number. It doesn’t ask for Face ID again. I advise you close your app otherwise someone can go into your account. All my bank apps auto log me off after 3 minutes of no activity. I sent feedback already and I hope they address it on their next update
I had my account closed due to inactivity after about 13 months. That seems premature, but it’s fine. There are many, many better rewards options out there. Once my account closed, I was unable to remove my bank information from the app. Customer “service” said this was so they could credit back my points as cash back. I do not have enough points for cash back (less than $1 in value). So they essentially ended our business relationship & they are refusing to delete my bank info. They have access to pull money from my bank account and there is nothing I can do about it. How do I file a class action suit?
This is probably the easiest credit card I’ve ever applied for. I already have a high credit limit. I chose this card for a couple of reason. Period one is that there’s no annual fee and it’s really important if you wanna have a high credit line. This is going to be my every day card where my other credit cards don’t give me any points back for certain categories this one will fill in the gap.
This card is a god send. To be honest, I do not use it for my regular purchases, but this comes in soooo handy when signing up for subscriptions, for free trails, for one time charges etc. so much peace of mind and I don’t have to worry about the “breakage economy” anymore. Big middle fingers to all companies that count of people forgetting to cancel their subscriptions or the free trials.
I was approved instantly with a $17,500 limit I used up to 3-4k and paid off a few times in the first 6m. At about 6 months they cut my limit to 7k - I contacted customer service and they said it was because I was not using the full limit. That is the whole point if you utilize your entire limit they penalize your score. Disappointed but the card is good overall as long as you don’t carry balances -high interest.
It’s been a real pleasure in using the card.. It has great and wonderful perks to benefit from as you use the card. X1 Support is there ready to assist, guide and direct as needed. I’m an advocate for applying and having the card to use in a variety of ways with the best perks & benefits! I’m a very happy card holder. Use it and manage it😉🎯💯 Most sincere, have a very pleasant day! Thanks again X1 and team!! Ronnie
Disputes literally takes 90 days, you don’t get no updates no temporarily credit, they don’t have a phone number you can’t speak to nobody just chat bots who takes hours to respond or email, you will get the run around then you will get a text saying “ Rest assured we'll continue to process this dispute. Unfortunately I don't have detailed information to share on the dispute investigation timeline. I'll ensure this is resolved as soon as possible. Please reach out if I can assist with anything further!” don’t make my mistake and don’t even think about this card
I am a credit card savvy and I can tell you this is one of the best for no annual fee. The point system is great and the fact that you can invest the point puts this card ahead of the pack. I recommend this card for anyone. Is really smart as advertised and currently is my primary “go to” card. Very interactive and entertaining. I love it! BTW the plunk factor is the cherry on top.
I love this card it's my to go card for daily use and i love the perks! But i would give it a 5/5 only if payments didn't last so long to post. If they find a solution to this it's going to be great all around card you can't go wrong applying for this card... one solution i would love and work with is create a digital debit card just like cash app & chime!!! I just gave you guys a golden idea and there's more to it.
The app and the credit card are simply awesome and it delivers what it promises. Though few things are very strange about it in the sense that it differs a bit from a tradition credit card. One you can’t add an additional user if they don’t own a phone number. Second you can’t change your billing cycle as it’s tied to your account creation. These where’d requirement should be called out explicitly when a user creates an account rather than in some fine print. I hope you guys change this.
Love the virtual card feature. Makes it easy for one off transactions or if I need to make a payment or share my number on a site I haven’t used before. Virtual cards are fantastic when a recurring purchase randomly increases its price. Points are pretty good. Def. No major bonus upfront like the other cards, but overall points are competitive.
Love this card. Easy to apply. Instant high credit limit. Never had an issue so far with a charge. Can create multiple virtual cards. Plus with no late fee? No yearly fee or any kind of fee to have the card? No foreign transaction fee? High cash back and rewards? Plus weekly reward bonuses? No brainer. New favorite card period. Just wish mine came in black
Best user experience I’ve had with a credit card. Some things could be improved, but I presume they will with time as the product evolves and the user base grows. 5/5 would recommend if you make many online purchases and want the ability to create virtual cards and not share info for one-off purchases.
Received this credit card and I thought it was going to be simple to use, yet it was anything but that. Every transaction I attempted to make would get denied - support said there was nothing they could do to help me because it was their “security measures”. I even tried to purchase a $3 soda and it denied that as well. Then I receive an email that X1 is closing my credit card due to “Recent activity and violating account terms” so technically they shut me down for trying to use their card that kept declining. What a joke of a company!!
Discard is really good. Aesthetically it is very nice, it’s heavy and solid. I like the packaging that the card was mailed in. The best part about it, is the virtual cards that you can date for example, one time use, and the free trial card. My interest rate is a little bit high, but my credit limit was ridiculously high. All in all I really like this card and his features.
I really like the variety of virtual card features such as the one time use cards that will dissolve after one use. This feature is extremely helpful in preventing subscription and trial offers from billing just in case you forget to cancel.. Just a solid everyday card.
The card seems like an okay tool, but the card activation process was somewhat intrusive. I understand that it may be so to protect the card member, but the identity verification requirements of submitting a picture ID, plus the facial recognition pictures was something that other reputable cards don’t ask for, which make their activation process way more streamlined and less intrusive .
When I click the Make a Payment CTA on the Home Screen of the app it loops me back to the same screen over and over again. If I click the icon on the left top corner to make a payment it does the same. I am at a loss on how I can pay t hi s card now that I am no longer on auto pay. Also, I attempted to set up auto pay again and keep getting looped back to the Home Screen.
Card is really good with points, perks, etc. what drives me crazy is how long it takes a payment made to the card to clear. Up to 9 DAYS!!!. It’s kind of unbelievable to wait that long on a transaction where they take your money out of your bank account next day. Plus other cards like the apple card will reduce the amount you owe that same moment you pay. It’s 2023 and we’re still waiting days to clear a payment. Ridiculous.
I just made my first payment. The X1 app showed my payment being immediately processing, actually counting down the amount I just paid! This was so easy to get, so easy to use and so easy to understand. The fact that the metal card looks amazing is just a bonus! You’ll see what I mean when you get yours.
The spend to point ratio is heaven. I literally got four other people to sign up and I'm almost 10x points for every dollar I spend. This is like the level in-between what apple is not and what amex is not all combined in one card . not to mention the high limits which significantly help with utilization. Top Tier
Once ur sent the invitation to apply you put in ur information and BAM ur approved for way more than a regular credit card would approve you for. Like they said almost 5X more . Card was sent via FedEx , which you activate on the super easy to use and navigate app . I read a review on Forbes to make sure it was a real credit card b4 I applied cause I’d forgotten I’d signed up for it. Good stuff.
I love the different virtual credit card options we have. I needed this like 10 years ago. I’m glad it’s here now. So many trials I was charged for so many times I had to cancel my credit card. This one’s definitely going to solve most of those issues.
I haven’t used the card as of yet, but the process from invitation to actually having card in hand was trouble-free. The app design is innovative, and you have all the information needed within seconds. I look forward to seeing what this card can bring to my daily life.
Literally for every subscriptions like Netflix and reoccurring bills like phone plans and internet, I have a separate virtual card to keep tabs on charges. I also create a virtual card with 1 dollar limit for when restaurants asks for credit cards during reservation 🌚
I just got my card a few days ago. First of the high limit has taken my credit utilization down from 19% to 11%. The term of the are easy to understand the awards for the card are excellent too. My X1 card is going to the head of the line in my card rotation.
If you are used to the level of customer service that AmEx or Chase (not a high bar on the latter), you will absolutely hate this card. If you do sign up, I genuinely hope you never have to dispute a transaction. They will fight you the whole way. Extremely slow email response times and forget about ever actually talking to someone on the phone; not possible. Sign up for the credit limit and single use cards if you want but I wouldn’t use the card otherwise.
I applied after doing some research. They use Experian to perform a soft pull. I have good income and was still denied. Says I’ll receive an email with an explanation, but still No email! 😒It appears that approval is really random and based on some algorithms and not really your Experian profile because I know my profile is good. There’s no phone number to call and the email address to inquire just sends an automated response. At this point, I just want all of my personal information deleted from their database.
The rewards accumulation system they set up is great, but cashing those points out is another story. You can only cash them out on purchases you make to a specific list of retailers with your X1 card, so you can’t cash them out for cash or for general purchases made outside of those retailers. If the purchase with a retailer exceeds the points you have, you also can’t apply points to a portion of the purchase e.g I can’t apply $50 worth of points to a $200 purchase with Home Depot.
