This app is arguably one of the best tv and movie streaming app ever on mobile devices that you can spend your time with from different local tv news to other tv programs that you couldn’t find from a regular tv antenna. I wouldn’t say that it’s absolutely the best on itself as the definitive tv alternative without cable because what this app lacks compared to most other TV streaming applications on mobile is that this lacks features to display more information of what season and episode the show your watching on selected channels which is one of the drawbacks when using Xumo but still this is the second best TV option I would recommend.
I am new to xumo and I am enjoying it so far I am currently only watching one show, but there are some bugs I think still need to be fixed for one, it does not have a continued watching feature for your on-demand shows and movies and when I go back to find the show that I was watching, it doesn’t show that I have already watched the episodes and when I press play, it’ll start the show from the beginning instead of playing the next episode, I need to watch I think that would be extremely helpful or not just me but others who watch your shows and movies but I also like the fact that it has limited commercials, so that is a bonus but another issue that you should consider taking a look at is during the preview for the next episode. It will play a commercial at the same time and it’s kind of hard to pay attention to the preview for the next episode and the commercial at the same time. I hope it doesn’t do that which shows that have recaps as well. but the app is a great idea and just throwing it out there, but the category for continue watching could be called resume
The really strange error message was that the country I’m in wasn’t supported by XUMO Play. That was after I had already been watching over three hours of Nature. After I force closed down the app a couple of times I was all of a sudden in a supported country. I’m in the USA in Alabama. Just what happened to make it think I had all of a sudden moved a couple of thousand miles?
If you’re a cable person this might be good for you. But if you like searching for specific things to watch, good luck - this app is not for you. There’s no way to type in what you want to want. You just have to flip through thousands of channels and options to find what you want. There’s no way to rewind when watching streaming movies or shows. You can either pick between restarting or starting at the beginning or commercial breaks. The app consistently freezes and dies for no reason. Lastly, because you can’t search what to watch, I’ve resorted to googling shows in my Mac then screen sharing it to my AppleTV which works perfectly fine on every other app, but not Xumo! Half the times it fails is just says there was an error. The other half of the time it doesn’t go full screen, it still shows surrounding screens even though that’s not what’s showing in my Mac. Overall I love the content on the platform, but finding what you want, accessing it, and playing it is the nightmare. I downloaded this app just a week ago from high recommendations and I’ve found it nearly useless. I’d love for it to be my go to app just on the content available, but the functionality ruins it for me.
I was disappointed when I went in to the app and couldn’t find anywhere a notation of which movies I had already viewed. You switch them up quite often but I try to watch them all at least once before I watch them again. Please let me know how do I know which show or movie I have already viewed. I used to be able to search and keep track of which I had watched prior to rewatching them. Bring these features back and I will raise it back. This was the app I watched the most now I only go in every couple months to see if there may be something on hallmark network I want to watch but since I can’t search I usually get frustrated and leave without watching anything because I gotta watch so many ads while searching. If I could rate it zero I would. Used to be my favorite app
There is no search button. Not sure why any steaming would not feature a search. I’m happy to find a foreign movie only on Xumo tv, but there’s absolutely no way on getting to it on my fire tv without going through the entire Asian movie list, because there is no search option. **im updating to two stars. Absolutely unwatchable. It seeks in about 15 minute increments. Have you ever heard of not being able to seek only about 10,15,30 seconds? 15-30 minute increments, no other way to rewind without rewatching half the movie again. And In the middle of watching if FORCE CRASHES. And you have to RESTART. After restarting more ads. Bad platform, if the kinks aren’t finished it shouldn’t maybe be out
Good app, but can't get the app to stream from my phone to tv
This looks like a great app, another option for watching TV and movies, the only downside is with the app being compatible to my smart TV, I can't get anything I watch from the app onto my smart TV without the app wanting me to connect to a Chromecast, otherwise this could be an app to use, just need tips on how to when I'm watching something from the app to get it to connect to my smart TV without having to use Chromecast.
I have been watching so many great free streams on Xumo I’d just thought I would take a minute to thank all the great people, that make this great channel what it is. I’m not sure if Another great station I watch JOURNY is a sister station or not but both have outstanding free streams, thank you again for the countless hours of free delightful entertainment !
No search button? I started a movie and did not like it. How do I stop it and go back to a home page? On Apple TV, when you back out of a movie, it keeps playing in the background until you check completely out of Xumo. OddNow today on July 22, just a splash screen comes up on both IPad and Apple TV. Ipad says check internet connection….which is fine. Their support page has all the FAQs and advise to check internet but nothing to really address the problem. No further way to contact them. Dropping rate to one star now.
Everything you do in the app causes lots of ads to play. Start a movie, watch several ads. Accidentally hit the back button, a bunch more ads coming your way. Need to fast forward because of terrible playback issues within the app, yup you guessed it more+more ads. When your finally done with your ad break, wait there’s actually more ads on each channel that are separate from in-app ads =) You can’t make this stuff up. I would not use this service unless it was the only service available.
I’m new to Zumo, but I am loving that you’re offering these options from the Faith and Family section. I struggle to find decent programs to watch. I’ve also been interested in learning about the Jewish culture. Thank you for offering these options in your programming.
My phone is up to date and I downloaded Xumo play. It only opens the opening screen and asks to enable notifications. That’s all it does. I tried contacting support and was told to use another device. ???? I told the worker that I only use this app on my phone and have no problem accessing it on the internet. I was told to access their service on another device and then contact them again if there was a problem. Well the problem is is that the app doesn’t work on my iPhone like it’s supposed to. Fix the app!
A common problem with apps such as these is the commercials often do not insert into the program’s “donut”, which makes for a jarring experience. Xumo is smooth, so smooth that you watch an ad before you can do anything. And worse, you can’t leave the app until it is done which I find unacceptable. Two stars until I can back out, being forced to watch advertisements to return to the AppleTV main menu is an anti-pattern that destroys any value.
I’m on my third time of deleting and reinstalling this app. After watching a movie, I can’t get back to the main screen and have to search on the thumbnails under the screen in an inch of space When I do finally get to the guide by shutting down and restarting, it freezes up. No scrolling to search for shows. Funny that “ feedback” box keeps popping up, but when I touch “yes”, it disappears and shows me my frozen guide. This app use to work a few months ago. I sure dislike updates.
I really like watching Xumo, and being a cord cutter and knowing Xumo Play is absolutely free is a winner for me. My favorites classics are Little House on the Prairie, Lassie, Quincy, Columbo, Todays Homeowner and This Old House, hopefully in the future more of my favorite classics will be added like the Waltons and Gardening by the Yard. Awesome!, l see Leave It to Beaver added. Keep up the good work.
Xumo has shows and channels you will not find anywhere else. The outer-sphere channel is a good example. If the developers are interested in improvements, then one thing I could suggest would be to make the live guide channel image bigger.
After it changed to XUMO PLAY , have had nothing but problems, on both this app and Roku app , doesn’t open all the time , and sound overlapping from previous channel, hard to listen to two or three things at once . More issues but may just give up , always a fight just to view anything
I’m very impressed with this has a lot of possibility and I’m sure as time goes on they will add more features. This is the first streaming portal that I’ve been excited about in a long time probably since Roku.
Why I’m titling it UNFAIR REVIEW ??? I’m watching EARTH:NATURE OF OUR PLANET. The close caption is wait behind. Based on this it’s not Xumo’s fault this is happening. It’s the producers of this nature three episode’s series. The series gives good information. Maybe is Xumo’s responsibility to contact the producers of this series to see if they can correct this way behind close caption delay. I’m going to try to contact the producers myself, too.
I can’t say I love this app because I find it very hard to navigate! You cannot use the back button and there is no search option which makes it very difficult to find what you’re looking for! I would like to use this app more however its layout frustrates me!
This app on my Apple TV is annoying to use, guide jerks around as you scroll, if you leave a channel the guide doesn’t return to the last place you were in the guide and if you click on a channel that is playing a commercial you can’t leave until the commercial is over. Well at least Pluto TV works well.
There are lots of apps now providing free tv with ads. Xumo is the best one. Lots of content, runs smoothly, and not a crazy amount of ads. And wow the new design and guide are beautiful and easy to use.
If you are forced to watch ads you are paying the price. Im ok with ads, but not with xumo. Basically your apple tv becomes unresponsive, you cant switch channel, you cant exit, none of the remote buttons work when playing a very intrusive adz Also, no search feature. Has no sync option ( i have 3 apple tvs and many ios devices. Favorites should sync.
I hate how it does not save where you left-off, and I get it is free but not really. I mean the money companies make off your information is far more valuable than any monthly fees. But, I hardly use this app that is on several of my Apple devices due to it not saving. I get a lot of people watch all-at-once but not everyone and several seasons of certain shows too.
Great app. Easy to use. Pretty cool to be able to select movies and tv shows directly from the Live Guide’s schedule. Lots of good content options too.
Did have Apple TV but when Spectrum offered Xumo Play box i jumped on it! So much more TV, Movie, News and Music Apps it’s definitely worth it. Got rid of my Apple cause Zumo covers it all.
I downloaded the app today on my Apple iPhone, I really like the variety of programs and the many topics of interest you can choose from. I feel it’s a really nice app. Sincerely, Ron
Difficult to find movies. You need a search engine. Still can’t back out of a program I decided not to watch unless I go all the way out and reopen the app
While watching, the screen has the error, “Something has gone wrong, please try again later”. There are no settings. They play the same commercials over and over again. Terrible watching experience.
Xumo's website mutes the sound when opened. Just press the sound icon on the video to enable. Xumo's app does not. It annoyingly blasts at max when opened. Make the app behave like the website.
I pay for prime but on your device the prime will not come in at all. We have tried and retried. And you have the prime app button on the remote. And I have app already on all my devices so I downloaded it on Xumo still won’t work!!!!!! I can’t get it to work on your dam device
Love the programing butwhen casting (this is trie for 3 different tvs in my home) the connection always fails. This isn't happening with other services we use.
It constantly was launching a Chinese movie in the middle of my TV show. I was watching 3rd Rock from the Sun and every single time a commercial came on, AFTER the commercial of course, it would launch some Chinese movie. Delete App
Bunch of PHools that are creating a problem to “fix a problem” as their job description. There wasn’t anything done for an update, except to screw up a formerly and enjoyable great working app. You once could leave the app and then go back to the same channel once you opened it again! Not anymore! You have to unscramble their mess to find your last channel you viewed. Just a PHreaking fUGLY mess! Dang! Why couldn’t you leave well enough alone?
I like the app, but is not user friendly. No search button, previous button or exit/close button. It has a great selection of movies and TV. Would be great to binge watch but hard to maneuver around site.
