Am on this wonderful journey of an holistic lifestyle and while am fortunate to live very near a yoga retreat, attending the retreat for the most part, is not always a possible . For a while I looked at Yoga International ads on Facebook and scrolled on but not without noting the ads contents. I was so intrigued by the variety of courses offered, I started the free trial and before the trial period ended I started membership. It is the best decision I have made on my holistic journey. Can I say OMG.... the contents of the site for the membership price can’t be beat. The information, choices of courses and challenges offered are amazing .....and the best part they continue to add new courses and challenges which are informatively narrated. I can go on and on..... just join you won’t regret. It will be one of the best gifts you give yourself. I am most definitely glad I did.
I have been using this app for years both on my iPod and my computer. It is true that favorites don’t transfer between devices. However if you save favorites on each device they will remain saved. Sometimes the favorites screen freezes, but if you tap on a class and go back to the screen it will scroll again. Sometimes the whole app just won’t load, like today, and when that happens I delete the app and reload it. So remember the email and password you used when you signed up. It actually doesn’t take that long. There’s so much amazing content in this app that all of this is worth it. There are many knowledgeable teachers there are good courses and there are classes of all lengths of time and a wide range of abilities. What I love most about this app and this site is that it is so completely inclusive and has classes for anyone of any age any size and any ability. Other yoga sites and yoga apps portray the yogi In an unrealistic manner and reinforce negative and damaging content and images. It is also important to note that this site/app is not just about Asana. Which if you know anything about yoga, asana is only one limb of eight. There is meditation, pranayama and philosophy offered throughout the site and many of the teachers obviously have a rich background in the other 7 limbs of ashtanga yoga as taught by patanjali thousands of years ago.
As a yoga instructor and yoga student I enjoy the content of YI for several years now. I found teachers, courses and other content I enjoy, use in my classes and personal practice. Sadly the usability of the app is left much to be desired. I view it on my iPad most of the time. The size of videos doesn’t fit to the screen when I open them (I have to switch to another app, then back, and by chance the app would show video full screen). I can’t open videos from my saved list and have to type in the name of the class in a search to get an access to smth I already saved. The web version and mobile app version do not really sync (I had issues while viewing my purchased courses). Sometimes a teacher’s intro video plays over a class video (!!), because it just has an autoplay… There are many more annoying issues. They need a good QA team on board to check on all that bugs, both mobile app and web. I don’t want to level up on my subscription because all these bugs.
I bought a Bluetooth device and along with it came a membership to this website and two others . I never opened this website and used it but I did use the other one pandora for the three free month period . When I went to cancel this and the pandora I couldn’t get them canceled I finally had to put in dispute on My credit card to get rid of but by then this company said I owed them for 5 months . About $75 . Amazing I never used this at all not one class or what ever they call this app I don’t even know the name of this company , I would call it scam yoga. I never knew if I liked yoga but now I know I hate yoga what negative energy to charge someone for something they never used. I’m a senior on very limited income how desperate to make charges unfairly on the people that aren’t that good on internet. I called them but the phone message is you can’t reach anyone on this call don’t leave a message . On the positive side I would like to thank pandora they cut off the service with no charges . If I ever again buy anything on internet it will be pandora ! So buyer beware this company is apparently desperate for your money.
I joined Yoga International a couple of weeks ago and dove right in. I did a lot of hatha yoga in the eighties and have been anxious to get back into it. I have now taken lessons with three of the teachers—Molly Birkholm, Ellen Mosko, and Luke Ketterhagen—and have been very pleased. The practice is a bit different from what I did back then, but I’m relatively fit and was able to keep up with most of it. A few poses were too difficult for me, but I’m sure I’ll get them eventually. I do find that the classes move rather faster than I remember doing, but I think once I’m acclimated that won’t be an issue. I especially enjoyed the yin classes with Ellen Mosko as I’d never been exposed to that style before. Thank you for a wonderful service!
It will drive you nuts. The content is great and once you access it you will want it, but the instability and poor system design will drive you bonkers. Have a favorite class? If you find it once on your iPhone you will never find it on you laptop or roku device, because favorites don’t transfer. Roku app crashes constantly (thought the workout room was a good plan, think again). iPhone app sometimes scrolls but usually doesn’t, so you will only be able to access the first two classes on any list. Contest crashing across all platforms, and search function is terrible, especially on the roku app, you can search the literal entire name for a course you are staring at on your phone and never find it on your laptop or roku. This app might have been a revelation in 2004 but it is an absolute embarrassment in 2019. Don’t waste your money.
As a teacher I constantly refer to the articles, workshops and trainings to further my education. The contributing teachers to the Yoga International site/app/magazine are well known within the yoga community for their extensive knowledge base and having ease of access to their teachings is a blessing. As a student I am not always able to attend a live class due to parental and career commitments. Having such a wide variety of practices available from these amazing teachers any time desired is beyond beneficial. When a student approaches me searching for material to study I refer them to all the YI products. When asked if a fee is involved I reply "Pay it! The material you'll find is priceless." I’ve been using the Yoga International app every day for months and it’s been a life changer for me. As a working wife, mom, grandmother, and caregiver for my mother with Alzheimer’s, getting to yoga classes was next to impossible. I NEED YOGA! I’ve tried lots of other apps plus videos, but nothing comes close to this app. I feel badly for those who’ve posted that they have trouble with the app because the only issue I’ve ever had was when my internet was acting up. It had nothing to do with the app itself. I HIGHLY recommend Yoga International! There are literally classes for everyone at every level. So very happy I found this app. Namaste 😊✌️🧘♀️❤️
I love the material available from Yoga International. The workshops and yoga classes are great, but the app makes it difficult to access them. I just re downloaded it, and the pop ups won't go away, you select something and it won't go there, etc. Also the daily tracker needs work. I would find it motivating if it actually held onto the data from one day to the next and showed my actual daily streak. Might be better off doing everything from my laptop. I hope they do an update to fix bugs soon because it would be nice if the app worked.
I would give zero stars if I could. I got sick shortly after signing up for the free trial period. I have loss of mobility and dexterity of my limbs and paralysis throughout my body. I haven’t been able to use the app at all! I tried to cancel my free trial and the website wouldn’t let me, so I contacted customer support. During this time the free trial ends and they charge me for the next month. I explain the situation and ask for a refund but it’s more important for this company to make $14 than make an exception for a SICK PERSON. This company is so horrible! How can you promote health, wellness and balance when you are a company who sees things in black and white? They are making me keep the app active until the month is up even though I am on the way to a wheel chair. Thanks Yoga International for being a sell out!
I live an RV and travel full time so internet is never consistent as my wife and I are usually in very remote parts of the world and because we live an active lifestyle staying in shape is a must. Yoga International has been critical to our lifestyle as we can download classes, challenges and simple recorded instructions for later review. We just spent two months in Los Barriles Baja California Mexico and went through hours of classes and challenges. So much to sample as a newbie. Giving me the opportunity to learn and grow my yoga practice. Thank you Yoga International!
I purchased a membership with the highest of hopes. I loved everything I saw & was eager to begin classes. I used the roku app on my tv (brand new roku device, only a month old), it crashed 8 times in a 30 minute class. So I tried another tv in the house with a different roku app (roku tv, 3 months old). Again it crashed constantly. I resorted to trying to finish the class on my phone (brand new iPhone 11) again, the classes crashed. After spending nearly 3 hours to take a 30 minute beginner class I finally gave up and cancelled. I love that you have classes for the absolute beginner & for the mobility challenged, but I can’t take 3 hours to do my yoga each day. You have a great foundation, but your tech is just terrible. I may come back if these issues were resolved because the classes are legit.
This is possibly the most worthwhile subscription I’ve ever bought. As a single mom in a full-time job, going to yoga classes is hard for me to do. I don’t enjoy them much anyway. Yoga International offers classes with a range of lengths and styles so that I can find options that fit my schedule and preferences. I’ve learned a tremendous amount, am actually excited about doing yoga, and can see improvements in my fitness after only a month.
I would love to use this app. But I’m on a fixed income, which means that I can’t afford any subscriptions. I’m Blind and Disabled as well. All the money I get goes to rent, bills, and food. This means that subscriptions are completely out of the question. It would be nice if you guys could figure out a way to make the app free for those of us on a fixed income. I’m trying to get back into yoga after a long absence. Please consider finding a way to make the app free for people on fixed incomes. It would help a lot.
Yoga International was once a great resource, initiated by the Himalayan Institute to teach very sound and beneficial yoga asana, meditation, and pranayama courses online via some very good teachers. Sadly, YI was sold in late 2021 to another company who promptly removed some very good content and over time, new content from the very good teachers gave way to quite substandard content mostly by teachers brought over by the acquiring firm. Nothing against the new teachers personally, it’s just that the new content was quite insufficient vs. what had previously been offered under original ownership. In late 2023, we cancelled our membership, the end of quite a few good years of practice.
I joined up over Thanksgiving based on the reviews. The area I do yoga is in my family room and I use my TV to view it (Roku). It is slow and there are issues with the app on my TV; I spent 45 minutes trying several avenues to get it to work (several occasions), missed my time for yoga and the only resolution was that I was not able to see the screen. I asked for a refund and the “issues” have begun. The response I received was inadequate and clearly the person who responded sent a scripted response, and has no understanding of my membership. I asked for the issue to be sent to a supervisor...the response is silence. What a disappointment, my view of this company is quickly changing.
As a RYT I am always seeking fresh perspectives on classic flows and postures. I look to Yoga International for just that. The broad spectrum of creative teaches/presenters never disappoints. There is always something for any level class I am teaching. I admire all the different styles and techniques each class has to offer, always inspiring something fresh to the forefront of my class prep motivation. I renewed my subscription via my iPhone a week ago and am not able to gain access to member content. I’ve tried connecting with customer support via email, which generates a generic response indicating a support person will follow-up within 24 hours. Didn’t happen after multiple email contacts initiated by me. Then tried their chat support. Left me waiting on chat for about 15 minutes with no acknowledgement of wait times, etc., an no further chat after stating they would address the issue. I finally got an email that provided absolutely zero help. How do organizations like this remain in business? I’m cancelling my subscription. Buyer beware.
I haven’t used the app yet, but have a terrible first impression. I’m a 43-year old woman who wasn’t able to have kids and I have a lot of grief around that. Grief that I am trying to work through with yoga and meditation. I filled out the kind of things I was interested in, and prenatal classes weren’t even on the list. But the very first recommended class was for prenatal/postpartum. So pronatalistic of you, Yoga International. Just because I am a woman under 50 does NOT mean I want suggestions for prenatal yoga classes. I hope the developers consider this. I have asked how to remove recommendations (is t obvious, if it’s possible).
I’ve been a Yoga International subscriber for many years and found that I wasn’t able to access it as often as I liked because I don’t always have my computer with me wherever I go. With this app I can view and practice whenever I am. I am now viewing the videos and practicing more often and can use it more conveniently as a learning tool for my ongoing learning. Thank you!
I tried to cancel my membership a month ago (literally after I signed up for the trial and realized it wasn’t for me, a little to hippy dippy for my liking) but apparently the cancellation didn’t go through. I haven’t used the service AT ALL and only discovered that the cancellation didn’t go through when I saw the charge on my CC. I immediately contacted the company (via chat because they no longer have a customer service department) explaining the issue and asking for a refund. They’re reply was while I couldn’t get my money back, I’d be able to use a service THAT I DON’T WANT for the next month. Thanks but no thanks, total rip off!
I did love this app (and the computer version) - lots of great teachers, classes, articles... BUT, one of the main reasons (if not THE reason) I got it, was for when I travel. I need to be able to save and download my favorite classes so that when I don’t have my home studio aaand I don’t have signal, I can still do yoga. This used to be possible with this app, unfortunately it no longer works. Because of this I’m considering canceling my subscription and finding something that WILL work in offline mode :(
I’ve enjoyed the content over the last several months to get my daily exercise in. However, for a while now you cannot pause or skip or rewind in the video at any point without having to start it over. It just freezes indefinitely. This has killed my morning yoga buzz multiple times now. Received a call mid-workout and just denying the call crashed the video. Unable to reboot and skip to where I was. This app needs some extra tech support love.
Great content! Please, please update this app to allow more functionality! The screen tends to freeze on my ipad, I can’t delete courses I no longer want from my list. And please add some more options: A record of past videos done, a calendar to schedule them for yourself and a way to organize favorite content would be so useful!
One of my favorite apps. I use it 4-5 times a week to practice yoga at home. Depending on what I want to work on that day, I simply type it I to the search box and I am immediately given a wide array of options and classes of diffidently lengths. This app is what keeps my practice consistent. I can’t attend a studio everyday, but I can turn on my TV and stream a 10 minute yoga or meditation class. 💜 #Selfcare
There are a wide range of classes as well as courses and articles. The instructors are very knowledgeable and it’s easy to find a class based on your level, interest, as well as time available. I highly recommend this app with awesome content that is continually updated. Also new content is constantly being added.
I purchase a course a few months ago and was told that I would have access and indefinitely to it. It has disappeared. I have reached out to yoga international, they said it’s there under my courses, yet I’ve sent them a picture showing it’s not listed at all. I would not recommend it.
Classes and instructors are great, software needs some work
App is clunky and non responsive. Play/pause is unresponsive and inconsistent when casting. Courses don’t save your progress as you work through them. App often closes itself if you switch to a different task (like a text message). I’ll keep using it for the quality of the teachers and their classes. But the app itself is pretty frustrating to use as of now.
I love the classes, the variety and the ability to download classes too. It’s great when I want to follow along and not structure my own practice. The big drawback though is that the app only works about half the time. I can open it and select the different screens, but can’t scroll through classes or select one. Pretty frustrating. Doesn’t resolve with reinstalling it or closing and reopening it, just seems random.
Unfortunately very buggy app – I’ve been unable to upgrade my membership and perpetually seem to be stuck in the paywall / upgrade / confirm / back to paywall loop, even when trying through both the app and directly in iTunes. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled, still nothing. I really wanted to like this app and the content on here. Sent an email to support that was not helpful either. Please fix!
I enjoy the classes, teachers and overall content and at happy to keep subscribing. However, the app barely works for scrolling through classes, especially if you attempt to filter by duration, etc. This really makes the process annoying so I’m thinking of quitting unless it’s resolved. Very unfortunate as the content and level of teaching is quite good and will be hard to replace.
As a yoga teacher and practitioner, I find this app to be very helpful. Love the classes - such a variety available. The workshops and articles are also incredibly informative. It's easy to navigate and you can download what interests you so it's available whenever you like. I'm on the app almost everyday and I love it.
I really like Yoga International. So many good articles, teachers and classes. But the app doesn't always work well. The biggest problem I have had is replaying a class that was first presented live. When they get the bugs worked out on this my rating will move from a 3 to a 5.
I do like the content, but this is a review in the App Store and the developers really need to respond to problems with the app. I want to use the app on my TV because it’s easier to see, but the current version won’t let me complete log in. Previously, the app just wouldn’t open on the TV. On my iPad and phone, it works pretty consistently but is hard to see, and I can’t project it to my TV. The saving features also don’t really make sense.
Every time I push pause it won’t play again. Also, the suggested videos are rarely what I have asked for in my settings. It suggests all levels of videos when I should really only be doing 1 and 2. I also like to bookmark videos that I might want to try in the future but I wish the bookmarks page would give more information on the video than it does. The videos themselves are pretty good though.
I hate to write a bad review but 4 months ago I tried this site for 1 months , and since I don’t really use it as much I decide to cancel it in the same month. For some reason that cancellation didn’t go through , even tho it says Processing! I thought all good, until 4 months later I saw they have been charging my acc that I don’t use. So 4 month after I tried again to cancel and it says , PROCESSING . But never actually canceled. I didn’t get any confirmation and ect. I assume a lot of people get fooled here. I contacted the costumer service explaining the whole thing and they said they are like Netflix and can’t really refund! What a lame answer sorry but not sorry . but this is a difficult time , if you want to scam and take advantage of people please don’t use the name yoga!
What I love most about Yoga International, besides the great content and intelligent teachers, is their response time. Every time I have had a question or concern about a training, I have sent an email and received a response almost immediately. It's a great feeling to be considered important at all times!
I absolutely love the content of this app and being a member of Yoga International's website. I can't seem to get the app to work consistently/reliably. I revert to the website often. I hope the bugs get resolved because I want to use this app more often.
I use this app multiple times a week. As a yoga teacher, I find it an indispensable tool. I would be grateful if the powers that be a YI would correct the oft encountered problem of having no sound with the videos. It happens at least 30% of the time. As I have a paid subscription, this is unacceptable.
So many cool things you can do on this app, love that you can download classes for offline viewing. My only criticism is sometimes it is quite glitchy and I have to restart the app to get it to function properly. With continual updates I'm sure it will be great tool for people who do yoga on the go a lot.
I've tried other yoga apps and I feel this is the most comprehensive yoga app I've found. I feel this Yoga International is designed for any type of Yogi, whether you're a yoga teacher in training, a yoga teacher or just someone who wants to know more about the varying aspects of yoga!
I have never been so disappointed in a service. I was charged by this company for no reason, I never signed up. DREA accuses me of being abusive when I was not. I had just asked for a refund because I did not enroll in this service and was ignored. She was very rude offered no sympathy and did nothing to correct the situation or try to offer support. DREA just wanted to pretend it would go away by doing nothing and by not keeping me updated with the situation. She was not helpful, not caring, not considerate.
Clunky, from initial login and never gets better. Higher better programmers. You are forced To go through an awkward search to find anything. If they are listening , try to make it connected to the website so at least you can cue up on the pc so that what you want is easily available when you want to spend time in an online practice rather than searching endlessly and hopelessly for a specific class. Very antiquated app for both iPhone/iPad but most of all, Roku on the TV
I paid for the annual subscription fee and deeply regret it as the application and website is the most frustrating thing I have to deal with on a daily basis. I avoid using this service solely because of how horrible the website is designed, which is sadly a waste of money. It’s also almost impossible to download any videos like it claims you can if you sign up for a year. Please fix this.
They automatically will charge you card for over $200 and not inform you until AFTER it is done. They don’t reach out to let you know membership is expiring and ask if you want to keep. Then there is basically no way to contact them. There is a text/chat box but it is automated bot answer..then you wait for a team member to get back to you “as soon as they can”.
I love Yoga International’s content from classes to articles to online trainings... but the app is awful. The app doesn’t seem to transfer to my account even though I’m signed in and most content won’t load on the app. Frankly, I don’t even bother with the app anymore. I check in occasionally hoping they’ve fixed all the glitches and streamlined the app, but no. If you’re going to launch an app for your business, then do it right. Yoga International has missed the mark entirely.
I adore yoga international and how vast the information in it is. I’ve gotten to do some of the trauma and therapy continuing education material and it is amazing. I love that there are articles, classes, and information on the philosophy of yoga. The only thing I have had an issue with is that the app glitches and is too sensitive. Other than that, I’m thrilled to have this.
They will take your money but lock you out of the app!
Tried to access the app after a few month break. They still happily took my money but wouldn’t provide any support to reset my account. I didn’t want to cancel but I didn’t have a choice as customer service kept giving me guidance that didn’t work. It’s a shame because the instructors were great but the bad business and shady practices ruined it.
The interface needs work. The search engine often lags and makes it difficult to find classes. The selection is great but the would be better if the interface was smoother and easier to navigate. (I.e. find classes by body part or being able to type in key words)
