Good, but not worth five stars

Good, but not worth five stars My first time using something like this. Don't know too much about it unfortunately & just what to do to use it correctly. Its been a fun learning experience. I just downloaded to check it out. Looks decent enough but I don't really know what to do. Theres a person who sends me a message and I cant seem to reply because it keeps asking me to upgrade to premium when I press send, yet I could reply to the others. This is the only person I really would like to chat with but unless I upgrade I cant chat. Although it has a lot of options you dont need to pay for it and you also can use most of them, I don't like the fact that you have to pay to be able to chat. So Im not going to give this app 5 stars because its not completely free.

My story can be yours too!

I thought I'd share with you the story of how I met my wife here. I've been married for two months, and even our baby is due in February next year. It was last September, and a friend of mine recommended this app to me. "Oh, it's just a regular dating app, it wouldn't hurt to try it," was my thought. God knows how wrong I was!! A few weeks later, I met my wife, who lives in the city next door to me, Covina. She was a somewhat eccentric woman, lovely, confident, but honestly not my idea of a perfect wife. But as our contact increased, I liked her more and more. And so it came to November. I was coming back from a business trip to Los Angeles, and I was passing Covina, so I asked if I could meet her. And so, with little preparation, we completed our first meeting, in a seedy cafe. But this meeting means a lot, for both of us. After more than a month of non-stop messaging, I decided to take our relationship to the next level. Christmas is here as promised. I invited her to come with me to my hometown, East Hampton. When our family reunion was over, I took out my ring and roses, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry me. To the shouts of "Marry him, marry him," she said yes. God, I was the happiest I've ever been in my life, and I think she was, too. Now we are thinking of buying a new house. The birth of the baby will make the present house seem even more crowded. Thank you Bustr, for letting me have a beautiful life.

Helpful app

I, Cloris, a slightly bloated girl going through tough times, have never realized so clearly the difference confidence has made for me. Is fat scary for girls? Maybe. But what's worse than being fat is the loss of confidence. If there's anything I have to be thankful for, Bustr will undoubtedly be the first thing that pops into my head. This unassuming app holds a lot of power. There was a time when I stayed away from such apps because I couldn't seem to find any solace even from people I didn't know. Fat girl, was the most polite thing they could call me. What were they doing to humiliate a stranger like that? I couldn't understand. I didn't try any apps after that until Bustr came along. "Wow, people are so nice here too", was my exclamation after using it for a day. There's something wonderful about being here, the same feeling as being at home, so I think it's a big family, one that accommodates all the out-of-shape girls, and the guys who don't mind their shapes. I'm a happy girl now, even though I'm still slightly bloated. "Screw discrimination, I'm just the prettiest", I tell myself from time to time. I'm able to meet new people every day and that's enough to pass the day. Even though my Mr Right hasn't shown up yet, what does it matter? He's right there waiting for mine, waiting for the best me to show up, and then he'll grab my hand and never let go again for the rest of his life.

Safe and Effortless

I have never been one for dating apps. I err on the side of caution in everything that I do, and honestly that age old dream of meeting someone in a movie-worthy way while I’m at the grocery store has always been a desire of mine. It’s almost 2024 though, and I was sick of waiting for fate to decide when I would meet someone, so I took my dating destiny into my own hands and that’s when I found Bustr. I don’t have a lot of experience with online dating, but Bustr was so user-friendly and it felt effortless every time I logged on to use it. Whether online or in person, my safety and comfortability when navigating the world of dating is my number one priority. While Bustr is completely free to use, the VIP membership was a must for me and man was it worth it! The ability to see verification badges for profiles immediately put my mind at ease. I also loved the open access to viewing messages and building more connections without message limits. I have yet to find my “person” but I have definitely found my community. Don’t let the name fool you either - although Bustr was created as a network for dating BBW and BHM, it’s the perfect dating platform for anyone and everyone, as well as the perfect place to network yourself and find people that admire you for YOU. Bustr is a 10/10 in my book, and my only complaint is that I didn’t join sooner.

What a great app

This is such an awesome dating app, more useful than any app for me, a fat size 22. I've never hid the fact that I like fit men, so I was hitting walls everywhere before this. When I winked at the dudes, they always rejected me mercilessly, and some of them would even flirt with me, "I have a good friend who is the same size as you, and I think you guys are made for each other, hahaha". But I'm completely free of all that, here. Is it hypocritical to like dudes who don't match my body type? Maybe it is, but we can't control what we like. Bustr gives me a choice. I just have to sift through the profiles I like and let him know. There's no question that men on here like plus size women. And with that, I selected Sean with no problem. Sean wasn't afraid to say that he liked plus size girls, something that was completely different from some of the slimmer guys I had dated in the past. We sometimes get strange looks when we're out and about, and I've heard some flirtations from skinny girls asking what a "hot guy" is doing with a "fat guy" like me. It hurts, but I try to ignore it. By this time, Sean would proudly put his arm around me and tell the girls that I was his girlfriend, and it was a feeling of sheer bliss. Sean says he's dated all kinds of girls, but ultimately has a thing for plus-size girls. We were lucky enough to meet and fall in love here, so I truly love and appreciate Bustr.

I like it

In my past experience, discrimination against fat girls is present on any dating app, even here. But, unlike other apps like Bumble, Tinder, Hud, Bustr will ban users who send out discrimination forever. This undoubtedly makes it much more popular in the minds of us big women. What this app is better at than dealing with discrimination is arranging dates. My first date was reached through it, a year and a half ago, with a local middle-aged man. With that first successful experience, things became much easier, which should be attributed to the changes in our own psyche. I went from being a timid, cowardly plus size woman who was afraid to initiate a conversation with a man to a confident, brave woman who is very good at flirting with strange men, even though I'm still a big size. I don't want to settle down just yet, instead I just want to date. I've had two relationships and I only ended my second one a month ago. Neil is very nice and is happy with my size, but I can never give him my full attention when I'm dating him. We were together for 4 months but I had to break his heart and I'm sorry for that. It's fun to bounce around from guy to guy and I enjoy it. I don't want to be tied down, at least for now. If it does come to a point where I have to spend the rest of my life with someone, Bustr will tell me who the right choice is.

Scam app

This app is a scam first it doesn’t show you the people near you unless you pay for a subscription which is stupid it would get more people to pay if they saw the actual amount of people near them on the app, second is they have so many bots (aka fake accounts) that they use to send you messages to get you to use up your 5 daily messages you get to try again to force you to pay for the app. To the developers it would make more sense for you to rethink this app it has potential but is being ruined by these little norm aspects of the dating apps. I know this about money cause it always is but to be honest you would make a lot more money if people actually enjoyed the app for example instead of not showing all the people in an area just let them see everyone in their area why stop them from getting more involved in the app they only get 5 daily messages anyway so this would increase the amount of people that pay for subscriptions because their going to want to chat more once they see the real amount of people in their area, also why do you have the distance setup for just paying members that is also a reason why people leave the app or just don’t pay for membership allow them to see what is available and they will pay if it meets their expectations. Now this is just my opinion but in this world you need to be different from the rest to be noticed and right now your just a carbon copy of everything else out there.

Wonderful app

So, Ive had a few experiences with plus-size women and had relationships with two of them, even to the point if passionate kissing. However, whenever I introduce them to my friends and family, they always disappoint me. They would inexplicably act a little self-conscious, in contrast to the confidence we had when we were alone. Both times I was the one who called it quits because I only like girls who are confident and have to learn to love themselves first. After the second breakup, I was down for awhile, but I decided to get back on my feet because I downloaded Bustr. When Gary and I met on Bustr, my husband had been dead for ten years. Since we had both had similar problems in our previous relationships and we had so much in common, it was almost hard to believe that this was true. We started off slowly, emailing each other through the website, then through other social media apps, then we exchanged mobile phone numbers, but only to text each other. Then we decided to talk on the phone for the first time, we were both nervous but seemed to get on well. I only did one search, and a lot of information showed up as a perfect match for me. I read some of them and one of them caught my eye. She doesn't like or interest anything like me, which is why I want to know more about her. I'm looking for something new, aren't I? I sent her an E-mail, but there was no response. No help

Only a few days, after I created my account, I started having problems. I put pictures up, and was accused of posting provocative pictures. I simply replaced them with no cleavage and let it go. A couple days later, I started getting pictures from a 27yr old, showing me his penis; many younger men, when I had asked for men between 55/65yr old; I also got several messages from someone claiming to be sugar daddies, wanting to take care of me financially, PEOPLE, THIS IS A SCAM!! I received many men out of my choice of distance; and actually, none of my preferences were taken in account. I sent many complaints but received no follow up. 2 weeks later, although I had blocked these people, after I complaining, I started receiving messages from the same people. I had deleted my account with them and took a week off. Last week I got back on, because my account is paid for until the 22nd, but I'm still having the same problems, and, once again, I've complained but never get a follow up. Good thing that I only paid for 1 month!! Regardless of the price, if you only pay $1 for something that you are not happy with, you've wasted your money.

Literally a waste of time, and couldn’t find the one

I personally never used dating app(s) mainly because I have watch the MTV show “Catfish”, but I just wanted to see if I can at least talk to some people at the most to get some interaction. Turns out I was wrong, REALLY WRONG. First off, girls who “liked” my profile were either about my age or older (which I don’t understand) and yet they didn’t seem to bother taking to me. But of course if you wanted to see who liked your profile, you had to PAY this stupid monthly subscription which I didn’t even bother setting up or paying AT ALL. The only two I got to have a “talk” was one who wanted to talk because of boredom, AND a girl who was 17 years older then me wanted to seek more of my interests. Why would I want to date someone who is way older then me or older people that want to date younger people? It tried messaging EIGHT people and NO responses, not to mention recently that I CANT LOG IN MY ACCOUNT. I tried resetting my password, using my apple account and it didn’t work. I’m gonna delete this off my phone because CLEARLY their is no hope for me. I am a nice, loving, and caring guy who just wants to find someone who loves me because clearly this app isn’t the place for it. Don’t. Use. This. App.

This app help me to feel comfortable

In the past few months, my life has taken an exciting turn thanks to the Bustr app. I love knowing that we curvys have a space like this to be able to express ourselves and meet interesting people without any kind of taboo or stereotype for our bodies. I downloaded it out of simple curiosity and From the first day, the sensations I experienced when I started dating in this platform were like a journey full of discoveries. Very cool people with whom without realizing they spent hours talking and feeling so comfortable, The application's functions are amazing, and navigating it is quite easy, I like it even being able to customize my interests which allowed me to match with people with my same tastes What stands out the most is that Bustr is the perfect platform for finding dates, whether you are traveling, too busy for a relationship, or in a new phase of your life. Worst dating app out here

This app is rampant with fake accounts and bots. All my dms are fake profiles looking for a “sugar baby”. There doesn’t seem to be much thought put into the matching process either. It feels like this is an app that was just thrown together real quick using stolen methods (the classic swipe left or right feature). I have not met one single person yet that has turned out to be an actual person in my area. Lots of potential scammers! All wanting to get my email or phone or kik or WhatsApp. The app itself freezes often. The rejected swipes show up again and again sometimes up to 3 times back to back. The profile creation is just abysmal. No way to see how your profile looks to others. You can’t even see your main profile picture except for the tiny circle you see when you go into settings. I paid for one month and I’m nearing my third week on here. My advice : stick to the free version if you really need to try this app. I would not recommend downloading it at all to begin with. You are more likely to engage in lively conversation with someone on Reddit than on Bustr. I had such high hopes for this app. Very disappointed.

Excellent App

First time using this app and it amazed me. I had a few dates when I was on OkCupid, Badoo and Hily type apps. But unfortunately, guys only seemed to be interested in one night stands or mutually beneficial friends, and I knew exactly what I wanted in a committed relationship. I'm lucky because Bustr has helped me get my wish. Joe and I had been in contact on and off for almost two months before we actually met. Even though we had exchanged photos, I was still very apprehensive. In the end, I still didn't have confidence in myself. Joe was a well-built man, and would a guy like him really like a plus-size girl? However, he proved with his actions that my worries were completely unwarranted. For example, on our first few dates, he liked to hold me and stroke my stomach. At this time, I would hold my breath because I was insecure about my tummy. I later realised that he did this to show me how much he appreciated my body. Another example is that he never stops me from eating my favourite foods, let alone encouraging me to go on a diet. He even said that if I could gain another 20 pounds then my curvy body would look even more exquisite. Joe is truly an incredible companion who makes me feel like the most precious person in the world. There are probably many more men like him in Bustr. Plus size sisters, there is absolutely no need for you to lower your standards because you all deserve to be loved.

A very unique dating app!

BUSTR isn’t just for men seeking BBW, it’s also for women seeking BHM! BUSTR is better than competitive apps like wooplus & tinder. I want to first say that the sign up process is very quick and simple! It’s extremely easy to navigate throughout the app! I love the simplicity of the design, the design is visually appealing. I’ve never experienced the app crashing or working slow. I think it’s great that they offer a free version and a premium version for a very affordable price! I really enjoy seeing the diversity of people on this app. My time being on here, I’ve really enjoyed chatting with people and meeting up with them! I’ve never experienced any spam chats, bots or fake profiles. I haven’t received any unsolicited explicit messages from anybody (unlike other apps); the people I’ve chatted with have always been respectful and kind to me. I really would recommend this app to anyone who is looking for a unique dating app experience.

This app is everything

This app has it all. Being able to browse each profile that suits my interests, see who is connected to start a conversation and find people who are close to my location is the best for me. Throughout the time I've been using it I've been lucky to meet authentic and fascinating girls who have enriched my life in unimaginable ways, being able to match the same interests as me has been incredible. I used to feel lonely and a little ashamed of my weight when meeting people or looking for a relationship but this changed a lot in me giving me security I have made good friends, some of them have become very close friends and some other interesting conquest I like to be quite affectionate, i enjoy good dates eating at different places and the time i have spent with them has been genuinely happy. It had been a long time since I felt like this and so sure of myself.

This app is nearly impossible to navigate if you are not a paid member. You cannot message anyone unless they have sent you a minimum of two “roses”, then you may respond to their message. I cannot initiate a response because I’m not paying for membership, I have to wait and see if the men I’m interested in leave me a message with two roses. How can you call yourself a “free” dating site when non paid members cannot do anything unless they are contacted first? And with a minimum of roses? This app is equally as bad as the “free” versions of Match and Eharmony. I will most likely be deleting my profile after only 24 hrs. Oh, the amount of Nigerian and Russian “romance” scam artists is too high for the low number of users on here. Within half an hour of reviewing profiles I sent no less than eight messages to the developer letting them know that they had one profile picture or pictures showing up under two different names. 85% of these suspicious duplicate photos had at least one profile stating the user is in Nigeria. Can we say DUH!!! Why are they allowing profiles from countries with notoriously high numbers of scam artists and phishers? DON’T waste your time or money!

Yeah another hookup app that is LOADED with scammers. Guys, do not give any of these “women” money. Not for gas, not for anything. That’s the oldest scam in the book. They sucker some dude into making some kind of online money transfer with the promise of giving their address or meeting you or coming to your place then they ghost you. Think about it. There’s a lot of really dumb guys out there. And if they can sucker 20 bucks out 10 guys that’s a hundred bucks to them. If they’re at it around the clock, that 20 bucks adds up. Very lucrative scam. There is very few women on here that are serious. In three days time I only came across two legit women on here. The other few hundred that messaged me were all running the same scam for payments of 20 to 50 bucks by either cashapp, Apple Pay or some random gift cards. All Of Them! Face it guys , your hope of finding a woman with the libido and morals of a dude ain’t happening. Chicks like that want a twenty something stud with the body of Adonis and a member that could’ve come off a horse and a big wallet. And that probably ain’t you.

BUSTR, the app that's changed my perspective on dating and connections. Very useful app

I'm a very heavy woman, like 350lbs, size 22/24. I met my partner on the dating app a couple months before. Good intentions/Poor UI

UI on this thing is awful. Keep getting flirts from people outside my area and no way to control this. Wrote who I’m looking for, but no way to edit this anymore. No way to filter on anything other than age, location, and body type. Location is in KM (in the US we use miles). No way to select more than one body type to filter. Once you edit your profile to include height and weight, it won’t let you back out of it to select a null value and you have to commit to a number. As a woman I don’t want to put my exact weight on here but I don’t want to leave a false one either. I’ve already gotten hit up with a bot asking me to text their WhatsApp/mobile as the first message. It won’t let you see who liked you and you can’t message or use many of the filtering functions without paying upfront. I already feel like I’ve wasted $15 for this first month. Feels like the developers tried copying a similar app, and left it to rot while collecting subscription money.

Tons of bots

As far as I can tell, this app is mostly bogus. The first time I used it, 5 profile views immediately. Then nothing for a day or so. Then randomly a view and one like (seems like an actual real person). Then quiet. The next day, non stop multiple profile views with no likes. Two thirds of the profiles without photos. Just 70 spam profile views. You also cannot adjust the distance for the swiping without paying I guess. Fairly useless as a free app. But the bots are enjoying it. *EDIT* Next day, every time I opened the app, 3-4 new views, still no likes. 1/4 or so were repeat views, so likely also bots in addition to the constant bogus no photo profiles. Often it would show 3-4 views, but only one new profile would show up in the list. A new day today, it’s randomly turned back off, now no activity once again. Developer says to send a screenshot of the bogus profiles? It’s the vast majority of 83 profiles, virtually all of my views over a couple days. So now the review is down to 1 star, bummer of an app.

I met my boyfriend on the BBW dating app last August. I’m 5’7’ and 220lbs, about a size 16-18 depending. He’s 6’ and 290lbs so he isn’t a little guy by any means. We adore each other. Lack of local users

I did meet my current partner through this app, but one of the biggest issues has been the lack of local users, the app also doesn't allow you to just select local people when using the swipe feature, it mixes in users from across the country as well as inactive users. The VIP is cheap, but I have a hard time justifying the cost. I think this app has a lot of potential and might be better in areas with a larger user base. It would be even better if you could add some special features, such as video chat. If this app breaks through in terms of the number of people in the region, I will consider giving this app 5 stars. I hope my advice will be helpful to you guys.

I'm a 30-year-old BBW. Most of the time, I'm someone's try-out. I'm their first-time plus-size experience. They find plus women sexy, but they don’t want to say it out loud. Besides, there's a fetishization of plus-size bodies. I've gotten messages from men on most dating apps like Tinder who want to feed me all the time. The amount of times I open up my dating apps to messages that are like "BBW Yum" or "I Heart BBW" — it's a lot. If that's a thing you're into, awesome. Go do your thing. But I’ve not specifically stated that. I'm not on a dating app geared towards that. I’m not on FetLife where I'm actively looking for that. And my profile, or how I present when I walk into a bar, doesn't scream, "I'm looking for someone to feed me food" Which, P.S., do not do, because I have a lot of food allergies. These experiences made me disappointed in finding relationships. Can't plus-size people find true love? After I used Bustr, I found that many people here didn't think of us in a special way. They think Plus-size people are the exact same as thin people. Tha's right!! Actually, we don't need to have our bodies tethered to our entire existence. We just need to be there with you.

Do not, I repeat do not waste your time on this app! The cost of the app for a month is pretty cheap compared to other dating apps however, it’s not worth it. I’ve only been on this app for 4 days and I’ve got nothing but fakes. If you’re a female, be prepared to get bombarded with messages from men of all ages wanting you to be their sugar babies and for you to text them for more info. Most of the men are in the “military”, again fake. I had talk to a few who literally tried to convince me otherwise. Have you ever talked to someone from another country? You can tell by text they aren’t American and for some reason they think I’ll be gullible enough to believe it. The app also glitches, sometimes it says you have a message and when you go to open it’s empty but if you restart it then it’ll appear. Also if you want to filter distance, age you’ll have to pay for that however, that doesn’t even work! I have yet to talk to anyone who’s genuinely real. Save your money and time, don’t download this app.

An app so terrible, it should be removed from the app store. The developers should be ashamed of themselves for what they are doing, which is allowing scammer & fake profiles on the app that give you likes in order to purchase the premium On top of that, the biggest issue is that they DEACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT after a little bit, taking away your option to delete your account and remove any photos you uploaded. Once thats done, they have your data and photos. Its a failed app that no one uses, so the devs created fake profiles to inflate the numbers. Doing that, they threw away all of their legitimate users and chances to grow into something worth someones time. But nope, they decided to be lazy and not try to fix the issues. Pathetic and childish. Disgusting, money-sick rats that created this app deserve none of your money. Be smart and pick something else before you regret doing something seemingly as simple as creating a dating profile.

Too many Glitches-makes it feel unsafe to use.

These issues crop up after a few weeks of signing up. 1) The messages will be posted on my notifications home page of my phone. I go to open the app and there no message from said person of interest. And I did not delete or block person, for they reached out to me first. 2) I go to look at a persons message and then I look at their profile for further information and it would (for a few seconds) show an overlay of a spam account ( female vs male) right before it switches to a so-called VIP member. Scary. I’d strongly recommend that whoever owns this app, is to get this cleaned up and to make it harder for spammers to use your services and give reassurances to real people who are actually wanting to find their person on your dating platform that it is safe. I appreciate you reading this in advance.

So this app isn’t horrible but it’s pretty close. I created my profile, without any issues, but then realized everything else needed work. I get notifications when I receive a message but then when I go to open then, the messages don’t show up. So when I go back and try to open another message the same thing happens. I tried deleting the messages so that the notifications went away but when you slide left to delete a thread the word yes is misspelled and once you do click on “yse” nothing happens. Then I went to the moments section. I can post on this section but when I try to rely to ppl, I’ll see my reply pop up but then it disappears. This app can be really good but it needs to be worked on

Support is non-existent! Horrible app!

This is by far the most horrible dating app out there! The price is decent but there is zero support and no way to find support. Don’t make the same mistake I did and immediately pay for a membership until you give this app at least a week of your time! Sure lots of “men” interested but 99.9% of them are thousands of miles away as well as being scammers getting the most vulnerable of our population to “fall in love” with them and give them money. No that didn’t happen to me - but introduction messages with tons of typos and grown men talking about “finding my one true love that has the reflection of the moon cast upon her eyes” like some B rated love story - screams scammer! It hasn’t even been 24 hours and I wanted to delete my account and ask for a refund , but like I said - trying to do this is impossible and there is zero access to support . I hate this app! I just got bamboozled out of $55!!!

I would give 0 stars if I could

First off the bat, let me say the amount of bots on this app is endless. There’s enough supply to go around the world infinite times. All jokes aside, I was harassed quite often by older women in their 40s and 50s asking me if I wanted to be their “sugar baby” Guys if you’re young (early 20s) put your age higher or don’t bother because this app is worse than Tinder. 99.9% of my matches are these annoying “sugar mom bots.” I couldn’t lock down a single match that was legit. I’m a fairly decent looking guy, clean haircut, most of my pictures I was wearing a suit, but nothing seems to suffice. Honestly I pray this app gets taken down off the App Store, Google Play, etc. The “team” does a very crappy job of making sure they’re aren’t scams, fake profiles, etc. If anybody has encountered this type of problem, please call these bums out. Thank you to whoever reads this.

Less than happy

Customer service is non existent. 3 emails -0 replies. People can leave comments on your profile/pictures but.... you can’t see them. Everyone else can, but you can’t. The app doesn’t tell you if it is a paid feature. It’s just a blank screen. Most men only have pictures often not even of anything sometimes just a random object or color - no written profile People haven’t seemed to figure out the 2 step process to pick their state - so everyone appears to be from the United States and you have no idea where. ***Actually the profile screen does not even retain your location if you live in the US. Unless people write it in their profile, you don’t know their state. Quick Match gives you only 2 criteria to choose from which is age and distance. No option to eliminate by relationship status so you get your limited number of profile suggestions a day but a large portion may be married, in a relationship or booty calls. You can’t choose people looking for what you are and with no profile you pretty much have to talk to everyone to find out. Finally - seems to be no way to block unwanted attention without reporting a person. And if you mark someone as a favorite. Seems to be no way to undo it. I would never pay for this service.

Although you don’t immediately know that you have to pay for use of this service, you do- and a lot. I had already put a lot of time and effort into my profile when I realized this, so I thought, oh well, I would just give it a try for a month. I’ve had a lot of success with other dating sites, but this one seems to be absolutely teeming with scammers. Most of the men who contacted me were of the Internet cafe variety, trying to con women out of their money. The last straw was when I tried to communicate with real men and either their or my messages failed to go through, consistently.
