Pay to Use

So far after using the app more deeply and getting to know its features, you get used to having to come back every other day to swipe left or right to match with someone. Of course it all depends on how you stand out to someone to be able to match since its all based on human emotions and love interest. But aside from that being able to interact with the community of Boo and have the ability to post daily weekly or monthly universe interactions is very cool. Of course you are able to start your own thread that someone may have not yet started, no you will need to follow their TOS so that it doesn't get taken down or flagged for break their TOS. But everyone is very honest and have great likings to different aspect of people’s choices and believes. Just which the app would allow you to be able to match with someone quicker so that your not constantly going back every other to try and match with someone if the algorithm even catches on. On too of that having the get notified 24/7 after you have reach your certain cap for the day. If anything it should allow you to have ether a prime or regular account that would ether increase the chance to get more interactions than to have a lower chance to even get a glimpse of interactions with anyone. But hopefully someone else gives there proper feed back and allows you to see for your self

I met my soulmate — when I wasn’t looking

I downloaded this app just to make friends. I had gone through a pretty bad breakup and was wanting company, but not necessarily a relationship. I was about to delete the app when I received a message from someone asking me about my hobbies and such, which was a nice change of pace from the other responses. We eventually started talking on Snapchat, and called one another. I was really awkward but started to open up a bit over time. We finally decided to meet each other, and even in person we are exactly the same, and where we aren’t, we’re what complements each other. It’s been a rollercoaster for the both of us, navigating how in the world an app actually made the most amazing compatible match. If you’re debating on whether to give this a shot— please, do so. I promise you, I’ve tried them all when I WAS looking, and got nowhere close to the genuine connections I made through this app, when I WASN'T looking. Even friends I’ve made off of this app, our connection is so much better. Unlike competitors, BOO actually pairs you to genuine compatibility based off of soul connection, personality traits, and qualities. I’ve never had a dating app allow me to take a personality test to pair me with people. I don’t usually believe in the whole astrology thing, but genuinely. I will never, not be thankful to this app for giving me the most beautiful connection and love in the world. Thank you for helping me find my soulmate, BOO! - Samantha

Kind of predatory in pricing

Title says it all, really. I typically like to try something out for a while before dropping money on it. They have an algorithm, but it’s not one to get you matches, it would seem. It’s one that is aimed towards making you spend money. Just like any other dating app, you use all your free “swipes”, and then it shows you someone that you actually have common interests with… only to tell you that you have reached your daily limit. I know bait when I see it, and I don’t appreciate it. Didn’t give it one star, because the app actually works pretty well functionality wise (for me, at least. I’ve seen other comments say otherwise, so I guess ymmv). Oh well. Neat idea. If they used different strategies to try and entice people to pay for the service (like, idk…having it match you with people that actually share your common interests and have compatible personalities instead of doing the opposite until you’re out of views) then it would easily be a 4-5 star app. Not that I’m hating. Everyone’s gotta eat and pay bills, but I prefer to spend my money where I feel respected. —Updated below since the app asked me to— I still feel very similarly about it. It functions well, and I’m able to match with real people more often than bots, which is nice. I still don’t like that it feels like it tries to squeeze every dime from you it can under the guise of helping someone find a potential partner. I’ll give it a solid 3/5, but never any of my money lol.

Giving Boo a Fair Chance

As I sit down to write this review for the Boo app, I find myself in a bit of a unique position. To be entirely transparent, I haven’t had the chance to dive deep into everything Boo has to offer. As such, my current opinion on the app is still forming, and I believe it’s only fair to share my initial impressions. So far, Boo seems OK—nothing has particularly stood out to make it significantly better or worse than other apps in its category. However, I recognize that the true value of an app can often be discovered with more time and exploration. With that in mind, I’m approaching Boo with an open mind and a willingness to see what it might have to offer as I spend more time with it. I’ve decided to write this review not just as a placeholder but as a commitment to give Boo a fair shot. Would recommend!

Update* I had a little trouble in the beginning with confirming my identity, but since then I have been enjoying the app. The personality tests and compatibility information is nice to have as a guide, but you are shown all options and left to make your own decisions ultimately. The only thing I would like is the option to narrow the field of interest in regards to age so I don’t have to sort through those unnecessarily. Overall I like the app and the first time affordable discount. It’s worth the effort! Original post* I went through the whole process which i was excited and impressed by, just to PAY and be stuck in something called the “shadow realm” of which I cannot figure out how to get out of. It says i put something on my profile that needs to be removed. I cannot figure out what it could be and I cant seem to get any support. Also, the identity verification thing does not work one little bit. I posted 9 photos of me and then i take one more exactly how it says just to be told its not accepting it. Also cant figure out how to get help with this issue which MIGHT be related to the first issue. It seems fun but is not easy to use so far. I am upset I paid to use something that isnt even allowing me to connect with people.

I reeeally want to like Boo. The personality/compatibility features are awesome, as are the other filters at your disposal on the free version. A lot of apps require that you pay extra for those settings, but they're free on Boo. I liked the idea of everyone being verified, but honestly it's the social media aspect that is most frustrating. It's supposed to be a respectful environment and it most absolutely is not. One of the user-submitted "questions of the day" was asking if it's possible to love more than 2 people. There are thousands of polyamorous people on Boo, but >90% of the people responding were voicing disgust. They were telling all the non-monogamous people that we're delusional, amoral and abusive. If they were saying these things about same-sex relationships, interracial relationships, etc., they'd be banned. None of them seem to realize that it's inherently racist and intolerant. I've enjoyed the glimmers of interactions w/ people that display emotional intelligence and self-awareness, but that sadly is the minority of people. Instead, I have people sending me DMs to continue arguing w/ me after I hide their post/comments so that I'm forced to block them. I'd frankly much prefer the option to create threads w/ my matches instead of having open discussions w/ any random person participating. I think that would cut down on the number of men who mansplain and harass women b/c we could just boot them from the thread.

Boo Dating App

I love how Boo gives you so much opportunity to actually know some things about the people you see before you choose to match with them or not. They give you a personality test as a part of profile setup and they tell you personalities you may match with or may have trouble matching with or probably will clash with. They also give you easy options to provide additional insight into yourself, like three prompts you choose and answer that are displayed on your profile for others to answer. I also really like how the profiles are displayed. On Tinder I often accidentally decline profiles while just trying to see more pictures, and it’s annoying to have to click into the profile to see all the information, but Boo puts it all right there in an easy setup. You can also make community posts and comments to posts, and you can easily see what people have posted, and that makes it seem so much more open and personable. They even have a Question of the Day feature where everyone can come and answer the same question and interact with each other without having to pay any extra fees. I know you don’t need to pay anything to comment on community posts, but I haven’t tried to make a post myself, yet, so I am unaware on that one.

Boo Review

There it’s a lot to like with this app compared to others. The coins to unlock what would typically be premium features are not that hard to get especially if you don’t mind watching ads. There are a ton of things you can do with your coins like send people messages without matching first. Now with that being said I still feel like the coin gain could be just av little more generous but the fact that there is an option to get premium features is way better than most of the other apps. My biggest issue it’s that amount of people you can see a day on the free tier. It’s not like they cap you by the amount of people that you like it’s purely on the amount of people you see. So if you don’t line someone and move to the next that still counts against you in terms of the amount of people you’ll get to see before having to wait 24 or 12hrs to start matching again. They probably do this since they don’t have as big of a user base as some other apps but it’s still super frustrating. Slight update, I feel like this app more so than other dating apps has just an overwhelming amount of users promoting Only Fans or Sexual Services, I’d honestly say probably 90% or more users that like you are just out for money and reporting these accounts doss nothing at all. This why I’m dropping my rating from 4 to 3 stars, hopefully this will improve it’s just extremely annoying

Boo is a Good Time

I joined Boo a few months ago as I re-enter the dating world. I really enjoy knowing details about people and this app provides a lot of different ways to get a sense of who someone is. I like that you can find out someone’s astrological sign, Myers Briggs, enneagram and more. Plus, there is space for people to write in their own words or record their voice, so you can get a sense of who they are, what they’re looking for and whether or not you might be a good match. There is opportunity to meet people in your local neighborhood or connect with folks around the world. And they really seem to be quite a variety of types of people, even though I like that this app is geared towards introverts. There’s also a social media component to the app which is interesting and actually can help you not only express yourself on various topics but also possibly connect with somebody through a more social media friendly style. But I think I like being able to chat with people one on one that is essentially I think the best way to get to know people. So good luck on the app and I hope you find what you’re looking for!

Update: I somehow got banned? I assume… there was no communication on it. I sent feedback asking as well as looked online, but I came to my own conclusion that this happened. There is no information regarding the timeline - is this a permanent or temporary ban? I wish there was more information readily made available and communicated on these things because I have matches that aren’t receiving messages from me, and I don’t know when I can communicate with them again… so they will likely unmatch me during this time period. The app is really great! I enjoy that you take the typical MBTI and Enneagram personality tests, and the compatibility is rated more on that rather than other aspects. But it actually explains those to you as well as what types you would be compatible with and in what challenges could present. You’re able to fill in a bio and prompts similar to other popular dating apps like Bumble. But what those don’t have is a social media feature like Twitter and a live feed like IG that allows for hobby hashtags interaction with other users. You can also search for friends, and there is the option for global connections too similar to OKCupid. The only downfall is that it is so new, and there aren’t many users on it - hopefully that changes soon!

Don’t buy the app

I purchased this app for three months, which was the same price as it would be for one month. I uploaded a picture, but my picture was not able to be viewed by anyone until it was verified. To verify a picture to take a picture of yourself with your thumb on your forehead and your finger spread out like you’re a turkey and I kept getting a message saying connect the dots. Connect the dots to what what? I didn’t know if I need to do it with my hands on my face or if I needed to touch the phone I tried it both ways and it kept telling me it wouldn’t verify my photo. I wasted six weeks of a three month membership which I had canceled shortly after I had the service for three months and I kept trying to use it. Send a message to anyone until your picture is verified. So when I went to contact the developer and told them what my issue was. They emailed me back and after they emailed me back, I responded back to their email and I was blocked again from even messaging app developer which makes no sense whatsoever. I sent them a total of four emails, but I had to go to the health section every time and I said look if you can’t get this app right give me my money back they said for me to get my money back from, the Apple Store they would not refund me and they would not help me get my picture verified either. Total waste of time.

It’s alright

The app is not bad. It’s really sociable. You can meet a lot of people. The only thing that is hard required of it is that you have to spend money half the time but at the same time don’t so I like that part there’s ways to make money by interacting with others, but I think that their pricing is a little too high they basically price the same as Tinder and all the other dating apps. I feel like this would be better a social media app just the way it is. Honestly feels better then Facebook and MySpace I wish they could use ads to make their money that sit in between the post. This way it doesn’t interfere with the user at all. If I could design an app which I’m going to school for computer science and engineering. I would very much like to be on a team to inspire social activity that make everyone feel included so nobody feels alone. This app has a good base but theirs a lot more that can be done to it to make it more fun. The feature is has are awesome maybe add games to it to interact with others. I have such games in mind but I’ll leave that to the developers as I don’t get paid to help improve an app as such so. I’ll just give my in-site. But I would remove the females that use this app for only attention and not to interact

No human moderation

Not only do you have no way to appeal any reports, no humans to communicate with regarding your profile, they straight up shadow ban you for whatever they deem as inappropriate or if others report your profile for any reason. For my case, and many others, if someone wanted to get back at you out of spite or boredom, they will report your profile for being inappropriate and guess what? Nobody there to actually appeal to. It wasn’t automated moderation or my picture wouldn’t have been approved since uploading it months ago and it certainly would be keeping full bikini photos from being used for hundreds of other profiles. Did you know they will shadowban you for using even the most rated G painting of Bacchus (the Young Sick Bacchus by Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio) - which can be proudly displayed in elementary schools without any issues from any student, parent, or teacher (actually LOOK at the painting) oh but what are clearly bot and scam accounts are okay. I guess Boo just doesn’t like classic art but as long as they get their money from you (yes, they want to charge for subscriptions). Example: many profiles that’ll like you are using the same exact photos or are doing the exact block-face with phone in mirror photos for all of their pictures except MAYBE one and of course nothing in their bio.

More Bots Than Anywhere Else

I have been “liked” by more people promoting OnlyFans/other “services” here than any other app I’ve used combined. I get 4+ “likes” a day from people promoting their content. And no matter how many times you adjust your preferences such as search radius it always resets. I’ve set my search radius 15+ times now. It’s really annoying, I see someone I like, but oh no, they’re on the other side of the country. I’ve set my radius to within 25 miles so many times. The app it riddled with bugs and no different from any other dating app. I’d go as far to say this app is as bad as tinder. There are less bots and promoters on Bumble. BUMBLE! Save your time and try something else. But back to the preference issue. I tried their paid premium function for one week, all the problems I was having (except the bots) went away. It appears they purposefully bug the app for free users. Very disappointing. The number of notifications this app sends is also absurd. Questions of the day (which are pointless), 2-5 ads for premium, any time anyone looks at you regardless if they like you or not, as well as other junk are guaranteed. It’s ridiculous. I hope the developers take these criticisms well and improve their app, because the concept it phenomenal but the execution is terrible.

Not Actually Free and Manipulative

Update: I went to delete my account and not only did I have to confirm it at least twice as many times as any other account I’ve had, they tried to manipulate me by making me scroll through numerous success stories from the app before I could delete it. There are no words to for that sickening behavior. Yet another “free” dating app that locks basic features behind an expensive paywall. What you actually get is a mediocre social network app that is deserted except for the popular groups. But let’s say you do meet someone on there, you would expect to start DMing right? Well, DMs require using the premium currency. Okay, what about the matching? After filling out your profile and going through a few people, you can see the For You tab. But, if you want to actually try to match? Too bad, you can only use the premium match option. Okay fine, they have to make money somehow. You’ll just have to find them in your queue, no big deal, and that’s true. The days go byby and you’ve seen hundreds of profiles but you’re notifications are empty. Could it be that no one has liked your profile? Maybe, maybe not. You can’t know because you have to pay for the privilege of knowing who matched you on the dating app. Absolutely disgraceful.

Save your time a skip this app!

So I have see a good chunk of adds for this app- supposedly “revolutionary” to the dating scene, it’s supposed to be based majority on personality. I signed up and was immediately bombarded with likes from what I could only assume to be bots as they just would not stop coming and seemed artificial. As many have said, this app is very difficult to use without paying, so I got the three month subscription for 15 dollars, seemed fair enough. Well, this app was just a more off version of other apps i’ve used, i found myself swiping just like any other app. The MBTI aspect was interesting but I never found it to be super accurate for many people. The worst was the support- dry and robotic in nature. I reached out looking to close my account and get a refund on the subscription as I’d had it for 48 hours at the most at that point (i don’t remember exactly how long) and firstly received a very delayed response that seemed like info you could find on a google search. I kept responding that I wanted a refund and all they would say is “this is how you cancel” yes I get that, I have cancelled, but I was dissatisfied with the service I paid for and want my money back. I’d understand if maybe they couldn’t do this but at the very least I feel I deserve a human response and explanation rather than a copy and paste.

Most honest review

I saw advertisements for Boo app on instagram. It was advertised to me a an app to make friends or if interested date. I was bored and decided to try because it was supposed to be different and not focus on appearance like most dating app but on personality. They had a great off if I purchased six months so I took chance and downloaded. I enjoyed taking the personality test. It confirmed that I was an ENFP. It also offers an enneagram analysis as well as zodiacs compatibility. I was impressed because I thought this was so in depth and I was going to meet people truly interested in me as person and what my mind had to offer. 😒😒 yeah😒😒nope, high expectations… long drop to reality. If you are looking for an app to cheat on wife, pretend to cheat on wife, fake millionaires, perverts around the world, desperate for attention, sexting partner, polygamy, polyamory, people from other countries looking for green cards, fetish, depressed people, people off medication, functionally autistic, divorcees, hook ups, and 🤖🤖lots of 🤖🤖. This is the app for you, which might be your thing honestly. Definitely not here to judge just being honest so anyone going forward can make informed decision. It is like instagram DM on crack. 🙄😒I personally want my money for unused month but June is around the corner right? 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

Update:Yeah this some bull! I even did a little pay to win. Look I’ll be the first to admit I’m not the best looking dude around…but I’m not the ugliest either. I tried matching with 243 people. Sent 22 DM’s. And only got 23 profile views. 8 of witch were posting in the news feeds. The math isn’t mathing…..it’s a no from me dog. I’m out! ✌️ I really like the app. It super user friendly and better than most. The personality features and quiz make it easy for me to find my type…but this is a double edge sword! I’m noticing a lot of profiles have followers (equivalent to a match request) but these profiles never match anyone back. It makes it hard to validate if this is an active or inactive account. A last active status would greatly validate authenticity for people looking to make genuine connections. Filter features are another thing I’m not super keen on but can make due with. I’d rather search for people I a radius rather than by city and have it looking at profiles that are 2 hours or more away. No matter how much I fine tune these filters I can’t seem to dial it in the exact way I want. Over all it’s a great app but has some improbable opportunities. I’m going to keep giving it a chance as there are many people I feel I can connect with…it’s just trying to figure out if they are still actively using the app…

Decent dating app

From my experience so far, Boo is pretty straightforward with the selection of personalities you can choose to filter in your search, and it gives you an opportunity to take one of those MBTI tests giving you a general overview of what you’re like and what the person may be like as well, and lets you know if there’s potential between you two. I also like that you can put a short bio on your profile, kinda giving people a preface of what your expectations are, and can see what interests you have in common with the person you’re trying to match with. You get to see their age, if they work, education, and even location, which are nice things to know. In a previous review I wrote months ago, they didn’t have ethnicity filters, but now they do! Thank you for implementing this. I haven’t used this app in months, so I’m looking forward to getting back into it. Overall, good app if you’re thinking of starting out and looking for a way to ease into dating apps. I’ve no success with it yet, but I’m optimistic.

Great app, but needs a couple features

I’ve had the app for around a week or so now, and while I have enjoyed scrolling through and figuring out the app, I have thus far been unable to message anyone due to my phone having a messed up screen on the right side and being unable to press the button to send a message. This is making it so that I am unable to speak with anyone I have matched with to make friends or build a deeper connection. I think it would be a great idea if they could either make the button to send a message larger OR make it so that we can turn our phones to the side and use the app in landscape mode for those of us that need or prefer it. Or maybe even be able to use our phones upside down to use the app. I understand that this would probably take time, but would greatly help those of us that may not be able to fix our phones right away or get a new one. I am thankful for such a cool and interesting app that challenges the norm, but until I can fully use it, I will not be able give a full and thorough review.

Would give zero stars if I could

The idea behind this app is great, but they’ve really implemented it as horribly as possible. They hire fake accounts and BOTS to promote their content in a spammy way all across the MBTI groups on Facebook, even getting several of them permanently zucced for spam. They don’t care, they just keep going. The developers of this app are unethical, and I wouldn’t trust them with my data or privacy for that reason. They don’t know what they are doing. Two years of SPAMMING Facebook to DEATH (literally for the groups they selfishly killed with their spam), and still less than 300 reviews. I don’t trust these people. They’re doing a LOT wrong, and I simply don’t trust the developers as far as I could throw them. Absolute trash. Someone PLEASE make a better MBTI based app. The ones doing it so far are FAILING (like these guys), and such an app is actually really needed! Just not one run by unethical, crappy programmers who leave their work full of bugs. The worst part? When you try to offer them feedback, they ask you to change your review to a positive one but they never actually fix the problem. So who knows how many of these reviews are fake as well, all of the five star reviews are in question, probably written by the same bots that they hired to spam Facebook. Scam much, Derek & Team?

If you try this app DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING

This app is in its infancy it seems. While it boasts 10 million downloads it definitely doesn’t seem to have the range of individuals when looking locally. This is what will happen when you download this app. It will ask you a “long survey” which is basically like 15 myers-briggs question and then assign you the type indicator. Btw this test has been considered unreliable amongst most professionals. The original myers-Briggs can be taken multiple times by the same individual with completely different results. Anyway. You get to the app and you put in some pictures and some things you like then you finally get to the swiping. I think after 10 or 15 swipes it’s going to tell you to either upgrade or wait. I foolishly decided to pay only to realize my dating/friend pool was 100 people with 20 or so being bots. There’s no way to get your money back, don’t waste your time (especially if you’re male). If you look at the male vs female followers you’ll see females get 100s of follows and guys get 5 at most. This isn’t necessarily atypical for dating apps… but when your location only has 100 or so females there must be 1000s of males. Go on tinder or bumble or hinge, it’ll cost you money but you’ll actually get results.

Trying after 6 year dating app hiatus

Dating apps place all the power in women’s hands unless you happen to a man lucky enough to be considered to be in the top 20% percent according to what ever crazy standards women come up with in their head. The majority of women who contact me ask me how tall I am even though it says it on my profile and the fact that women use a man’s height to eliminate potential matches is just as bad as a man using a woman’s weight to eliminate potential matches and so in my opinion this app promotes body shaming and discrimination based on appearance. The global approach is interesting. I must say I would rather get the occasional message from a woman in the Philippines or Nigeria looking for an American husband than get no messages at all but it really is a small consolation when I think about women who live with in 30 miles of me getting 30 or 40 messages from 30 or 40 different men and not returning a single one. I want an app that offers real dating equality and doesn’t give all the aces to women. Unless you can invent teleportation the global spin kinda makes things more depressing because it’s like the only women willing to give you a chance live in a time zone where it’s tomorrow.

Interesting, but not engaging

The app has a lot left to be desired. I would say it’s a pretty sub par dating app. The user experience when writing messages is pretty terrible. Putting in punctuation and hitting space leaves you in the punctuation/number keyboard and doesn’t switch back to the alphabet once you hit spacebar like every other iOS application and it’s really frustrating. The dating stuff and personality analysis seems cool, but borders on pseudoscience and psychic cold reading. I get matched dating with people extremely far away from me (Eastern Europe. I’m in the US) so it really just doesn’t work as a dating app at all despite regular use and putting my settings not to match me with people who are far from me. The social media aspect is pretty neat and you can find some nice discussions here and there, and the interface design is quite pleasant though. I’ll probably stick with it for a bit to see where it goes, but I’m not going to keep high expectations to get dates or anything from this app. It still has a very long way to go and leave much to be desired regarding user experience, messaging, and dating.

Still new to me but it seems just like every other app… I used an email address to sign up. Easy step by step directions for creating your personal profile. I like that they verify profiles, so you are talking to the real person. Creating your profile is free… you can also like/dislike so many profiles per day for free. You cannot view people who liked you or friend requests with upgrading and paying for a membership. If someone messages you, you can respond and message back. You can view specifics about a person. I also like the fact that you can go on here just to find friends and specify that in your profile. It’s convenient. I’ve read other reviews and tried other apps and I feel like this one is just like every other one. The free version allows you to do certain things, but they ultimately want you to purchase the option that allows you to do more …. so without spending money, you don’t get to do much. This was advertised as being different and maybe I’m missing some thing but I give it three stars because I just find it to be too similar.

Great so far

I just downloaded the app today - I’m not sure how constructive what I say will be because this is the first “dating style” app I’ve gotten. The ability to engage with the community on this app is a plus. Not that I know first hand, but left or right swiping on profiles that commonly leads to dead ends isn’t the only method of socializing here. There are different categories that you can select as an interest (philosophy, gaming, cooking, technology, cycling, pets, anything) in which you can make social media style posts to. It’s fascinating to see what people who have similar interests as you are up to, whether you decide to directly engage with them or not. I downloaded this because of the MBTI factor, though they include enneagram and astrology as well. There are in-app purchases you’d have to make that will optimize your experience, though I find that to be present in most apps like this. Gotta make money somehow, right? I’m personally glad I’m not getting ads.

A Quality Dating App

This app is very unique. It has a great feel and user-experience. Aesthetically it looks futuristic. The free version has very minimal ads, in comparison to some other dating app that throw billions of ads at you way too often that trash the experience. If you aren’t a crazy attractive guy, it will be difficult matching, as is the same with all apps. Many of us are too superficial, swiping on someone by just glancing at their face for less than a second. In that case, it’s best to message those you are interested in to spin up some attention with a laugh, etc, vrs your face (I know that’s harsh). Boo let’s you message roughly 30-40 people for free with “coins”. You can do things to get more coins like watch ads, get friends to join the app, etc. After those 30-40 people, you’ll have to buy coins. However Boo does let you display a lot of info on your profile to grow interest, too. I’m considering buying Boo Infinity because I enjoy this app experience (even though I haven't gotten any dates yet). Weird, huh, I know.

Good and still has potential

It supplies features like bumble but for free I’d you do lil quests. It’s more open to not limiting characters as much when typing allowing bios that are worth something. That may not appeal to some people but I personally always read bios and honestly swipe left if there isn’t one no matter how cute etc the other person may be. No bio means their boring or not commuted or too lazy to do it as far as I’m concerned so that’s a pass in my book. Anywayyyy back to the app it’s pretty good it has interesting aspects to it. It could do better with a few more as far as the calculations factor when yo try and have it set specifics for who your swiping on but it’s honestly not to bad. It’s a new app to my knowledge so I’m not sure if people are just late but it’s not like tinder or any of the “s3x” base out there. It’s definitely more casual and chill so that’s something I appreciate. I’m going to stop here as I don’t want to make this to long but those are pretty good starters I’d say. It’s interesting

There is a pay to use aspect, especially if you want more swipes, or accept more requests from people who swipe on you, as their profile will be completely grayed out and you cannot interact with them. Don’t focus on whether or not the app thinks you’re compatible btw, it will give you matches that do not have the same interests as you too sometimes until you’re out of swipes, what I did was read the personality types’s descriptions and made the decision myself, because you might get along well with someone the app says you aren’t compatible with. If they didn’t rip you off with those prices and that weird algorithm where you always run out of swipes when you actually meet someone with common interests as u, or at least gave free trials, this app would be amazing. Then again they would lose a lot of clients if the it actually worked, since it’s still a business. I gave 3 stars instead of 2 because I ended up meeting someone on there even tho according to the app we were not compatible, so I’m grateful for that part.

Horrible M/F ratio

I haven’t used a dating app in a year, but my friend found someone on here so I decided to give a new app a try. Easy setup and decent features for the first impression. I decided to pay the $15/3 month boo infinity to make the most of the app, and within a day I ran out of people to match with that were within my filters. After 4 days, I sent 40 loves and my profile was viewed 8 times, with the 3 loves I got being bots. That’s not great, but I realized today what followers and love meant on a profile and I deleted my account. Boo auto follows an account when you send them a like, so generally followers is how many people have sent them a like. I gained love on my profile when I sent messages, so love was interactions between people. 80% of the accounts I sent likes to had 0 love with hundreds of likes, which meant they were inactive filler accounts with no chance of matching to. Big waste of time, better off using the more popular competition. Three stars because the app ran great and had cool features but isn’t gonna find matches for guys.

Not bad.

Honestly, it’s not that bad of an app for getting to know people it’s pretty good unless you communicate on matches and has a lot of features that others don’t however, unfortunately there’s also a lot of features that it only lets you spectate. Luckily, there is an actual community feature for this app, allowing anyone and everyone to communicate with strangers, although it is briefly restrictive, other than that, I have yet to actually end up, going out with anyone using this app, but I have met several people and have had pleasant communications with all of them I would also like to blame my lack of meetings for dates to the fact that I signed up for this app relatively quickly before leaving the United States. All in all I find this is a very pleasant app that works quite well if you’re wanting to get to know people whether it’s friends or dating you can, and will find someone that messes with you no matter who you are.

So far, very interesting 😊

At first, I was very leery to enter another dating app because of my past experiences. I will have to admit that Boo comes across very different upon my initial usage of it. I love the personality test and the quizzes that allow us to better understand who we are and what types of people will probably vibe with us better. Also appreciate the little games and tasks to earn some coins that I can use later on and so not everything is "pay to play". But even if one does want to use a subscription, their prices are extremely affordable with even up to a 71% discount off Specials. While I intend to perhaps find someone locally to be in a relationship, I like the fact that they actually have global options and open the door for me to meet friends before I even plan a trip to a new location. It's my first day using it and I'm impressed. Let's see how intuitive their AI is that matching me up with someone.

The best dating app out there

I’ve tried every dating app and site that caters to my demographics and some that don’t. Boo is the best! Setting up the profile was interesting and time consuming so you have time to think about everything rather than just making a 30 second profile and it being incredibly cringey from others’ perspectives. With it’s personality test and extensive set of tags you can show off exactly who you are and what you like on your profile. The filters are much more detailed than your standard age and distance ones. Such as leaving all Capricorns out of swiping pool. I met my boyfriend on the app a little over a month ago and now I couldn’t imagine my life without him. Our personalities mesh so well that it’s almost as if I can’t argue with him because it’s like I’m arguing with myself. Can’t get mad at him because he’s just like me except we’re each other’s path not taken.

This app Boo it’s quite a catchy name. I can’t believe it was something that could be utilized to a detailed description of understanding oneself. For me being that this was able to analyze based on the questions put together and formulate a response for me to help me identify my qualities that match what I’m looking for, as supposed to looking at a picture and just saying next we’re going a little bit more detailed about the personality traits involved, and how it could be strengths,weaknesses and or a combination of both. Most importantly I’m not looking for a relationship right now, I was intrigued that it allow me too gain a bit ice who I am discourage that after putting all that information back you cost money I suppose the investment will need to be required if you really want to pursue for the more so I can’t input on what pay services like what the free oortion has offered personally for myself I give them kudos

Feature rich, jury still out.

It has some interesting features. They are behind paywalls. These features include a couple different personality tests. When you’re looking for a match, they display a lot of information about these personality types, how you would match with them how you wouldn’t . Maybe this is a dating site that at least has a benefit of giving you some feedback on yourself? It’s kind of a stark contrast of An in-depth attempt to match you based on a few questions you answered in a survey to the excessive speed, and or quantity of swiping that happens in modern dating. There’s all sorts of little micro transactions to get something to fix you up but that seems to be standard for dating sites these days. Like all the dating sites you get to search for free, but you can’t see your matches unless you pay. And theory a few mutually thumbs up each other, life is great and you can chat. Definitely more tools on this website to help you with your profile. That said there’s a lot of icons and I don’t understand what they all do. I’ve only used the mobile app. There may be some other interesting features. If you could find someone that’s paid to lock these features, and it sounds appealing. This might be a site to check out, however, I don’t think it could be fully appreciated unless you’ve been on other sites before. Once a new site was launched, where during the process of making a profile, I was not flooded with bots.

One of the better dating apps

I’ve used pretty much all the major free dating apps and websites, and so far, Boo is a favorite of mine. It’s not perfect by any means, but it has a lot going for it. I like that they don’t lock every feature behind a pay wall. I like how direct the matching system is. They could use some help with figuring out what to do with bot/scam accounts. I only wish that you could control the distance the system searches in, cause I get a lot of people popping up from other states even though I have it set to “local”. My only other complaint is that there’s a set number of profiles you can swipe through regardless of whether you like or pass them. I wish you could pass on infinite profiles and start over skipped accounts when you run out like Hinge. Other than that, Boo is great! I’ve met some great people here and I hope to find my reason to delete it!

Decent app

I downloaded the app from an ad saw, and I really find it unique in its own sense. It has the potential to be very good. The main problem with it at this point is the lack of users in certain areas I believe I only found five people within a 30 mile radius. The ad I saw was for the app to focus more on your personality rather than your looks. I did enjoy the test that they gave to match with people that would be attracted to that personality. However, I wish they did something similar to jigsaw, where the more you converse, the more of their profile opens up to you and the profile picture will open up completely after you’ve sent enough messages. I feel like the app is still really focused on looks but you do have to do a verification to even get to the swiping stage to make sure you’re not Catfishing which I really appreciate it. This app has a lot of great qualities. It’s just missing the backing from users.

Cool idea but no way to use the app

I do like this app more than any other app I’ve used but I think it’s silly to think that women are going to pay for access to an app when there is so much free access out there. I think you should allow the friend option and feed back as it used to be because the only people who are going to pay is men and then the app is pretty much pointless because this app is having me pay for “left swipes” . Like even if you’re not interested in someone it still counts towards your swipe total and most people aren’t even in my area so I will match maybe one person a day and can’t even accept friend requests. I gave the app two stars because it really is the best app I’ve seen as far as everything included and layout and everything but not enough people are going to use it so I think it will flop unless you remove the pay option for virtually every little thing except matches which are also impossible to get because you only get a few swipes without paying. Most likely will delete the app

It’s been awhile

It’s very in-depth but I only had one match. Which didn’t even respond. There’s some people who aren’t even looking for anything, and you can DM directly which is great but for women. The guy side doesn’t receive messages much. They get hearts or likes which is saying I’m okay to match but the search system I think is too in depth? OR the default search settings are not just near your location. When I was worldwide I was getting a few. The minute I put it to a radius it stopped INSTANTLY. My bio is pretty out there I feel, I took every test and put every info I could. The premium is probably nice but don’t need it but I would probably recommend if you plan on using long term. The coins are nice for free people, with options but most of that isn’t gonna happen or costs gold to make gold back. I don’t know kinda backwards to me. Either way good luck, I like the app but probably won’t find your BOO here.

Why do I even use dating apps

I just hop through multiple apps where I’ve sent every message I can, used every swipe I can, and just receive nothing back. It’s like I’m sending out a signal and just receive complete radio silence. As if everyone in the world is dead and I’m the only person. Everybody says “try this app, have you tried this?” And none of them are any different. It’s like profoundly sad, to witness myself just open my phone and hop through like 3 or 4 different apps and there’s no messages. Nothing I can even do. Spent all the time building a profile again and again and again, put in all the effort swiping mindfully, creative messages everything. And it doesn’t matter. It’s incredibly disheartening and yeah sad. It’s sad as fk, not just in like a “poor you” sympathy way, like this makes me cry, I am sad about it, it makes me sad, it’s sad as fk. Tired of being told “you’re not alone” cuz I have like 5 friends. Jus nobody gets it bro, and I try to explain it and they just don’t get it.

No matches yet and not much of a selection in my area

So I’ve been trying out this app for a little while now it’s kind of disappointing. There’s not many people in my area that are coming up in my potential matches. This site does seem to have less obvious, fake profiles, than the other apps. This app also counts your left swipes in your daily allowance. It would be beneficial if the site only counted your right swipes, and what they allow each day, because the user should not be penalized for being honest and their swipes. I’m fully understand that most women in my part of California are only looking for fun without commitment, so I guess it’s not the fault for having such shallow people, but there seems to be just too many non-commitment minded women on here. I’m one of the last men on earth, looking for an actual, long-term committed relationship with one person, as it should be, which makes it very difficult finding that special person. All in all the sex not too bad, but again, it can allow more daily swiping for us with a free account.

Not your average dating app

Listen, you’re gonna get weirdos in whatever app you download but I’ve gotten significantly less with this one. This app has you take an MBTI test so that it can help you find, with at least a little bit of accuracy, who you’re going to get along with. The people you mesh with most are going to light up green, those with a possibility of getting along will be yellow, and those that are going to be challenging for you will be in red. It also has a cute little hashtag function for your interests, and if those interest line up with someone else they’ll light up blue so you can easily tell if you have things in common. There are an app purchases and subscriptions, but I don’t use any of that and the app still works great for me. I have already started talking to a few people that I really get along with and I’ve only had it for like 3-4 days.

Too Many people with Fake MBTI results.

I was on this app for about a week and a half to make friends. Unfortunately a lot of people want to pretend to be a personality type they are not. This problem can cause relationships to be very inauthentic and difficult to understand. I recommend before using this app to understand that a lot of people create a facade to pose as something or someone they’re not. For example…there are a lot of intuitive personality types on this app. But statistically speaking; only 3/10 of people on the planet have intuitive traits as their primary or secondary function. Why is it that almost everyone on this app is intuitive with extremely rare and complex traits?!! I understand that this is an app made for a small group of people but the same criteria applies with using it. There should be more sensors than intuitive personalies. Its very disheartening to see people lie about their personality type because they cannot be comfortable learning how to be themselves. Just be yourself.

Questionable!

My first concern is the amount of catfishers I’ve run into on the app. Multiple people using pictures of famous instagram models, YouTubers, and yet their profiles are being “verified”, has me concerned with the safety of the app. The second interesting thing that I’ve noticed is Boo is advertised to be based on personality over looks. They do provide the ability to learn more about one’s profile, but the personality tests are such a small part of the app that they’re most likely overlooked. When someone sends a “love” or a friend request, the first thing they are seeing is a picture of you, a bio, another picture, MAYBE a prompt, and more photos before FINALLY seeing the personality type at the bottom. The app feels more like an attempt to replicate Bumble with an added bonus (personality test) at the bottom that no one looks at. Plus, considering the app is meant to be based on personality, I’m surprised the prompts aren’t required. Many profiles are loaded with zero prompts and an empty bio.

Boos platform

While there be seen many platforms for dating and making friends it seem like boo has figured something out to set themselves aside. From The ease of the profile set up to the user friendly extras (in-depth profile information) it’s seems to be a great way and place to start something new with not only conviction but also high hopes. The availability to see those who closely relate to you in interests not just location is an amazing feature. I am still new to the scene but I do have a good feeling about being able to find genuine people to fill my life with. I would have preferred a trail to get a taste of the differences that boo all as to offer but I guess when you start to see results with the free abilities it will eventually lead you into getting the subscription which at 200 for life isn’t a bad deal.

Buggy

Hard to give this app a proper review when it doesn’t seem to work. I had half a dozen matches on Day 1, but now it just says “no souls detected. Try expanding your filters” every time I open the app. My filters are pretty broad as it is but I tested changing them just to fix it and nothing. The app will notify me that they have new people for me to see, but when I go to open it, it’s the same issue. If it was actually functional, I’d only have one complaint and it’s that there are A LOT of myer’s Briggs information reserved for premium users. This is kind of dumb to me since I can just google myer’s Briggs to get more information. I get something has to be reserved for premium, but maybe I could at least have points I could spend to unlock them. And then I could either buy more points or get a little just from logging on and liking or whatnot. Anyway, I haven’t really had enough time to decide how I feel about the app since it’s completely unusable :/ Edit: so interplanetary mode does fix the issue... kind of. I don’t really want to consider people 400 miles away because I’m not in a position to do a lot of traveling. Unfortunately, this is the ONLY way to get the system to show me anyone at all. Also, there’s no “like” button from what I can see, which means you HAVE to message someone or give them a hard “no”. Idk, I appreciate the developers responding and trying to make the app more approachable but it’s kind of rough to get anywhere.
