Ok, so I don’t know if it’s me, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to select same gender/gender neutral housing, which is a problem. The app might tell you 100% match, but in their profile it says they, who are a different gender than you, wish for same gender housing. Like... that’s kind of a big deal, and a massive contributor to what someone wants when they’re trying to find a roommate. Also... c’mon... who was asking for what is essentially tinder for finding roommates? Look, I get what they were trying to do, but at this point the app isn’t there yet. Maybe at some point it will, maybe this is the way everyone will be finding roommates in a few years, but at the moment it feels like a poor solution for a problem that may not need fixing.
This is would be great if it wasn’t glitchy and problematic. I found a great set of roommates and matched with them. A few weeks later, I randomly logged onto the app to see that somehow, I was unmatched from my roommates, and someone else had taken my spot, leaving me to find new roommates ASAP. Now this may seem like it was my fault, but in order to leave the current matches, the person has to physically choose to leave, which I did not, I was happy with my matches. I believe the app was so glitchy that it took me out and put someone else in there instead. Really disappointing. Thank you RoomSync for the unnecessary anxiety.
Swiping through roommates is kind of fun but the app categorizes some matches as “good” when there are obvious dealbreakers like different preferred roommate arrangements and significant class or age differences. Beyond that, you can’t chat with anybody after your matching date, which means you need to take an initiative in exchanging socials off-app if you want to keep talking. I guess what I’m trying to say is that there’s great potential but it is just disappointing when looking deeper into it.
Horrible coustmer service, I tried contacting through email and number like 5 times and got no response. When I first entered the app I let was working fine until I tried to look up a friend to be my roommate and after that everything was gone… like the people I like and people who asked me to room with them. Then i tried loving out and loving back in and would let me back in to my own account now I’m stuck with a stranger this semester because of their stupid app. 0/10 would never use again
Ok ? So I just downloaded this app hoping to find a room mate my cup of tea 🫖 and the app won’t let me use my Apple account I been a long time apple user since I was teenager I am now 27 years old and this app is for some reason saying my Apple account doesn’t work like ? WTh 🤦♀️ what’s the point of having the apple feature on the app if ? It doesn’t let u sign in or make account and in fact the app was featured on the news 🗞️ it’s messed up that the app doesn't let u sign in or make a new account!!
After updating the app I haven't been able to access chats, match requests, or edit my profile. Every time I try to navigate to another tab it prompts me to fill out the About Me questions (which I did months ago when I made my account) and takes me back to the card screen. I tried deleting the app and re-downloading it and I'm still having the same issue.
Locked out of account because they don’t allow Outlook Login
RoomSync recently updated their mobile app to only allow login through Google, FB, and Apple ID. My account with them was through my Microsoft outlook account (what my school uses). I was logged out and cannot log back in. I contacted them, and they said it’s not their problem. Unhelpful customer support. App also had poor UX/UI.
My college uses this app and I’m not a fan. Making a profile and finding people is simple and effective, but the app is so glitchy beyond that. To give a few examples of problems I’ve had: - Message threads have disappeared. - People I’ve matched with will disappear and reappear. - It sent a message to the wrong person even though I was in the right chat room. - I have to create another account because my first account was deactivated prematurely. My peers have also had those issues, and it makes the process more difficult than it needs to be. Overall, I would not suggest RoomSync.
Had the app for a day and it keeps crashing, doesn’t show my profile or the profiles of other people and the app crashes every time I use it. I also get people who have selected gender inclusive housing but I cannot match with them because I chose same gender housings
It keeps suggesting people who are a 0% match and haven’t actually made their accounts. Should have the option to select a category that’s most important to you ex: cleanliness. so that it will suggest more people who are similar in that category. Also keeps suggesting people who aren’t even looking to dorm in the same building as me
I am a guy who has my preference set to gender inclusive, but I get women in my feed who are only looking for other women to room with. There is not any reason for me to see them, and just slows down the process, with me having to check every woman’s profile to see their preference.
There’s a bug, it keeps taking me to my about page
I’ve filled in my information but it keeps taking me to the About me page which is extremely frustrating because I can’t even go to chats without it popping up…please fix that.
I’ve used roomsync for 2 semesters in a row, and a couple of days ago it just stopped working. I click on the app and it’s on a blank screen??? I’ve uninstalled, restarted my phone, everything. Now my apartment complex will most likely choose roommates for me & that’s the opposite of the purpose of this app. Annoyed & dissatisfied.
The app won’t stop asking me to fill out my About Me even though I’ve filled it out and saved it a million times. I can’t go through chats or likes without it glitching and it’s very frustrating. Please fix this!! My apartment’s deadline for roommate matching is quickly approaching and I can’t do anything with this app.
This app is glitchy, slow, and terribly frustrating to navigate. It takes an eternity to load even a single action, and half of the features are either poorly designed or literally dysfunctional.
Currently trying to find a roommate and the app is glitching so bad it wont even let me open the tabs on the bottom without asking me to answer my “about me” section which i have already answered. I dont know how to fix it.
I tried creating a profile but it stays at the same spot for a long time. I hAd to delete it multiple times just see it works. The app is terrible and whoever made it needs to go back to the drawing board because this ain’t it.
I see profiles that are a near perfect match based on their answers and yet it says we are 0% compatible... kind of defeats the purpose of the app. There is also no way to sort profiles by gender.
Please read these reviews and not the top ones. I installed the app and opened it only to be faced with a blue loading screen for eternity. Yes, I’ve sat through it and waited, to no avail. This app is pretty trash if I’m being honest.
So stupid it won’t let me add my roommates because it says we don’t have same gender preferences. It literally doesn’t matter because I chose male preference and they chose no preference but all 4 of my roommates are dudes so it doesn’t even matter. Dumb app
used it last year to moderate success and i'm trying again this year. i've found one roommate and have been checking back regularly to find my other 2 but for the past few weeks it's been refusing to load anything at all. deleted and reinstalled to see if it would fix anything and now i can't even log in.
i have the app in order to find roommate matches, an im never given any options!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i’m constantly being logged out of my account forcefully and i never get any room mate suggestions.
It’s a great concept and I love how it requires a link from the school so it is safe and secure, but it’s impossible to message anyone. Messages disappear right after I sent and I can’t tell if they have gone through. It also shows all messages sent by one person even if it is a convo. It also gives me notifications for messages but then won’t show me any new messages.
The app is great, although it can be slow at times, it has all you need to find a roommate. BUT the messaging system is messed up for me. Every time I try to send a message to someone I’m interested in being my roommate it disappears! I type the message out, hit send, and instead of it showing in chat, it disappears immediately. I don’t know if they received my message or not.
This app really needs a better notification system. I don't get any notifications from this app which makes it really difficult if I am trying to communicate with someone, because then neither one of use no when the other person has texted us. So it could be days before someone responds! PLEASE FIX THIS!!!
This app has made the finding a roommate process so much easier, but for the last few days I have been unable to see people’s profile photos. Also, I never get notifications when someone inboxes me.
I really liked this app. Made it super easy to find people and add them to your group. My only complaints are with the messaging. Notifications didn’t always come through which made it hard to keep up in app conversations.
The App works great, but just trying to give some feedback to a developer. I can’t update my Bio! It just spins the wheel! The term Summary after the questionnaire is confusing as well about what I’m summarizing, I talked about my answers. It would be best to label it as Bio text. I hope these changes are made soon, thank you!
It’s helpful, but a little buggy and there’s limited options on what we can do. There should be a setting for which type of notifications we receive but i’m emailed everything and I wish I wasn’t. I also wish there were more questions about roommates but it’s okay.
This app is good in theory; but there are lots of bugs that make the app crash, won’t allow me to send messages to any of my mutual likes (says the person is unable to receive messages), and if i was able to type a message up it showed a loading symbol for ages and never actually sent the message. Was very hopeful and excited to use this app, but it disappointed a lot.
The app is very efficient. However it’s very hard to find new people in my suggestions, and it only limits my suggestions to around 6 people so I have to skip people in order to see if there are newer people. I wish there was an option to see everyone and not just the same 6 people each time.
This is a really good app! Not only did I meet my roommate I made lots of friends as well! There’s a lot of detail so you can really find someone who is going to work with you!
At first I wanna give at least three stars, but I even search my current roommates. We even try to select same answer of personal habits, but it doesn’t work. Only show about 10 to 15 same people in FIND page. So I wanna say, please remove the searching feature because it NEVER show right searching results, plz!
