Love it!
This app is the best of its kind, the interface is simple and beautiful. I can track weight, water, and macros on top of calories, which has a nice time graph for all. Love it! Great barcode scanner, and entering food is quick, exactly how it’s needed. I love tracking my food I used to write it in my notes. If I can make two suggestions to developers, I mean no offense… when I add new food, I wish there was a way that I could combine my foods I had scanned to create one food. For example, I drink the same chia seed smoothie several times a week, and to be accurate I have all ingredients separated out. Well each time I track it, I have to find each ingredient in my favorites and add. When I press the plus button, the screen scrolls up to the top, and then I have to scroll back down again to that area (which can be a long list). If there was a way to make this a custom food that I can add all the ingredients together that I scanned, or, if that list didn’t scroll to the top when pressing the plus… 👌👌👌 Just in case you are taking user suggestions :) Great app, very beautifully designed, does exactly what it’s supposed to do and very efficiently!

Very good app!
I was recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes at age 67. So of course now I have to really watch what I eat. Went through a TON of food apps till I found HitMeal! This is perfect for my situation. Not complicated at all! So many other apps try to cram TOO much data in. Keeps track of the macros that I need to keep an eye on. (Might be a little better if it also kept track of sugar, hint, hint?) Huge food database and super easy to enter custom foods. Pushes me on my water intake. Also can customize the daily meal macros to match what your Dr recommends. Only thing I really don’t use is the weight portion as I use another app for that that has a little more in depth analysis. Meal idea section. Of course, your mileage may vary but for me this app is perfect. Overall 5 star rating!!

Good But…
This app is easy to use. There’s a good amount of food already in the system for barcode scanning, and I can take pictures of my own foods if entering a new one. I can save favorite foods that I eat often so they’re easy to add and I don’t have to scan a barcode every time I eat something. A lot to like, HOWEVER, it drove me absolutely insane that their units of measurement are non-comprehensive. If adding my own food, it would only give me the option to add fl oz or ml when I’m not even adding a liquid, so instead I’d like to see tbsp, cup, oz, etc. but those don’t exist. Because of this limitation, it wasn’t accurately tracking my quantity. Also, I wish there was a space, a note section if you will, to add something about the food. For example, one serving size of a brand of breakfast sausages is 3 links, but I can’t put that in anywhere. It’ll just record as “1 serving”. So I have to then remember the serving size (according to a food package) for so many different foods. Imagine liking and buying five different types of breakfast sausage and they each have their own serving size, and you just have to automatically know and remember when you input which sausage brand has which serving size. For these reasons, I deleted the app and am searching for a new one.

5 star app. 1 star support.
I have the full paid for app and have been using the app for a few months now and track everything all day everyday. This app has been a huge help and big eye opener but the owners need to do a few things different and get some updates going. 1. Make the calculator where you can change your parameters to your own needs and not just some randomness they decide. I bought the subscription so I could and you can’t. 2. There are tons of new foods coming out all the time and there are some that are just nonexistent on the app but other apps have them. New or old. It goes both ways. 3. Smaller brands/Stores/Gas stations. There’s a lot of different places to shop and some of other places are no where to be found on the app. Big gas station names like Casey’s should be there. They have their own stuff and sometimes these stores have special sizes and macros that aren’t there. 4. Fast food places like subway and or a few others really need to be updated and added to. I’m sure tons of people are using subway and others to get by sometimes and it would be great if you could just type in ANYTHING you got and not have to add a new food and go off a menu online until you get everything saved and tracked.

I’m new to the app
Been using just a few days. I appreciate that it doesn’t harass me if I miss meal or a day. Seems like a lot of steps to add a food to the daily list of food consumed but I’m getting used to it. I find it difficult to add partial servings since it often doesn’t give the option for tablespoons, cups, and other random measures. When I tried to add a salad from a restaurant (the restaurant listed number of calories on their menu) I was frustrated that I had to fill in something for number of ounces! What?! A salad might be cups but ounces? And the form wouldn’t allow me to bypass that blank. The last app I used gave multiple ways to label the measurements — slices, cups, ounces, large/medium/small serving, etc. It seemed much more accurate. Something for the developers to work on. Also I’ve found no way to directly sync my Fitbit steps without using Apple health — which is too nosy. Further I’ve found no way to manually add steps to this app. There’s an option to add walking duration (how many minutes did you walk?) but not # of recorded steps.

Don’t bother
This app is so limited and structured so tight there’s no options or flexibility. The meal plans and recipes are the only thing I like about it. If you want to eat a lunch meal for dinner you can’t get it to enter onto the dinner diary. It only goes to lunch. You can’t add your own recipes nor can you copy a days meal to another day. You can’t even enter the next days meals ahead of time (planning ahead!). You have to wait till after midnight to enter the next day. There’s no way to adjust your goal calories or macro nutrients. There’s no community or friend sharing with other app users to congratulate friends or share your own accomplishments. You can’t copy in recipes from the internet but have to type every single ingredient in every time. Don’t bother getting this app or spending the money to even be able to use it. There is no free version. My advice is go with My Fitness Pal. It does all this for free and if you want more, (yes it does more than this too) you can go premium and open a whole new set of tools and helpful items. I am regretting spending any $ at all on this. Only reason I didn’t give it 1 star is I like the recipes. Go elsewhere!!

HitMeal improvements needed
I’m trying to reduce my cholesterol intake. So I downloaded this app because I could track my daily meals. 1. The app does not show daily totals of fiber, saturated and mono saturated fats, cholesterol and calcium, etc. it would be nice if these items were totaled each day. In order to keep track of my nutritional intake every day, I have started an excel spreadsheet to make sure I am on track. So the app isn’t truly friendly for me. 2. After I save a meal or food, sometimes I go back a food item to look at the nutritional values, but I have to enter my quantity again to see my intake. The quantity is saved on my homepage but when I bring it up again it shows 1 serving instead of the half serving that I entered. It would be nice if it would save that when I go back to look at all of the nutrient information. 3. as far as the exercise part, you can enter walking, workout, weightlifting, etc., But it only asks the duration of each item. If I walk one mile in an hour, I am not burning the same amount of calories if I walk five miles an hour. These are some suggestions for improvement.

Ad misleading, weight loss recommendation laughable
The ad I was served showed someone taking a photo of food and the app displaying calories. Implausible that would work well, but if someone out there is making Hot Dog / Not Hot Dog from Silicon Valley, I wanted to see it. The two things I discovered were: 1. Nothing about this app appears to be photo-based. You just enter foods as in MyFitnessPal or any number of other apps. 2. I entered accurate biometric data, and the app recommended that I could lose 9# per week as a “moderate approach” but that if I wanted to get “intense” I could do 13. And the “moderate” approach had me losing that weight on 1900 calories a day, with me stating my activity level as the lowest setting. These recommendations are neither physiologically plausible nor advisable. I hope this is a bug and not the intended functionality - I even checked my profile in the app to make sure my data had been saved correctly. Maybe some issue on the back end is storing my 215 lb body weight as kg, and that’s screwing with the recommendations (?). In any case, there are far better apps out there for this purpose. I’d recommend MacroFactor.

Nice app but could use some improvement
I really liked the app at first, and I am going to continue to use it… But I think there could be some improvement. 1. There should be a way to click into an individual meal and view all of the nutrition facts for the meal as a whole (right now it only shows calories in that regard). Why track carbs, fat, and protein if you are not going to break it down and let people analyze it more than just by the day. I would like to see all the nutrition information broken down by individual meal as well. I am type one diabetic And it would be really nice to go into each of my meals and see how many carbs I ate rather than having to look at each ingredient and put it together that way. 2. For those days when you’re not using the app, there should be a filter to exclude those days from your average caloric intake. without that, all of the days where you have 0 cal inputted are going to skew your data and give you false results. There should also be an average carb, protein, and fat average daily intake. I’m kind of a nerd when it comes to numbers and these are all things that I would think A lot of people would find very useful and shouldn’t be too hard to implement considering all of the data is right there. those are my notes so far, would be great if somebody read this and implemented any of these changes. Again, I think the app is great, but just need some improvement.

Awesome!
Hi! This is a really good app! Being a serial dieter I have tried them all! This one is very intuitive without the “reward” and “punishment” colors or emojis that I really disliked in other apps. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because there is a problem with the sorting that would be REALLY easy for the devs to fix and make the app so much better! The search feature should be able to be done within the sub categories such as, “All,” “Favorites,” “My Entries” and “My Meals”. The way it is now, if you want to add a food and you’ve built a nice library of favorites, if you try to search within your favorites, it searches all food. It takes so much typing to get to the one you want. That’s really frustrating. If the devs can’t change this, at lease put the “favorites” in alphabetical order so if we have to scroll to get an idea we will know how far down we have to go. Thanks for considering!

Needs More Customization
This is a cool app for tracking your meals and water intakes. At this point I am using it mostly for the food database because of a few shortcomings. Where it does need a little work is working with more advanced users both technically and nutritionally One example is if you are already working with a nutritionist, have very specific goals, or if you know what you are doing and would need to enter custom macros. The app does not allow for that which is kind of frustrating. So I ignore the app suggestions and run a tally based on what I have already eaten. The other downside for me is the lack of shortcuts. I’m not going to open the app every time I finish my water bottle. I need something more practical so I started to track that separately with the Apple Health app. That way I can just tap an nfc tag and log my water intake. These days shortcuts are a must for any apps!

I like the app, but …
Logging food daily can be time consuming and frankly annoying. This app helps take away those pains through a really nice interface. While I like the app, I have a few suggestions to make logging food even better: 1. When adding recent items by pressing the plus sign, the app jumps each time up to the top of the list. If I’m scrolling through 10s of items to find something logged 2-weeks ago, it get pretty annoying. 2. If I’m logging a recent item, keep the unit of measurement and the amount the same as my previous choice. I logged food for days just to realize my items had reset to the default. 3. Finally, if I open the app tomorrow, the app should open to that days log and not yesterdays. I logged food on the wrong day because the app is opening to previous days and not the current day. Then, there was no way to move the items. Overall, I like the app. I used my fitness pal for a long time and this app is a better because it is not bloated with ‘features’. Thanks.

Okay not great
Things I Like and Dislike 1. Like: You can scan a barcode so the app automatically inputs the nutritional info; and it’s recognized almost everything I have scanned Dislike: once it’s scanned in it defaults to “serving” but you can’t see what the original serving is so you have to then look it up again next time you want to input the food, so if you don’t remember what a serving is then it’s difficult to log it accurately. 2. Like: you can save foods as your favorites Dislike: the favorite list becomes long and no way to sort it easily 3. Like: it can connect to Apple iPhone or watch data for pedometer to track steps and “burned” calories Dislike: it’s not always accurate so I haven’t been sure why it’s different on the app compared to the pedometer 4. Like: you can track macros Dislike: you have no control over macros aside from inputting your gender, weight, activity level, and weight loss goal. Dislike: the app has me having a goal for macros of 114g carbs and 189g protein and 43g fat. I could never reach this goal while only eating 1360 calories AND looking up a 200g protein diet is usually reserved for 220 pound weight lifters (which I am not.).

Could improve for the price
This is not the first calorie counter app I’ve used. It’s also not the best. For starters, it doesn’t save your frequent foods, so every day you have to search every item you had for breakfast, lunch or dinner even if it’s the same thing you had for a week. Second, it doesn’t scroll over to the next day automatically. It’s so silly but you want to click the least possible to get over with recording your food and having to go up on the page to find the day you’re on feels too much work. Third, it doesn’t track fiber. Maybe this is an app that doesn’t really care about health but only about loosing weight but fiber is super important. Other apps do all the things I mentioned before for the same price. I’m a bit disappointed. Should have kept my old apps.

Great MFP replacement
I’ve been looking for an alternative to MFP for a while now and so far this is the best option. I actually think the user interface is a lot better and love that it asks you your goals and automatically suggests macros and calories. However there’s just a few small differences that make me hesitant to switch. First being that there are no support for widgets which I rely on to remind me to log and keep up with my goals. I think it would be an amazing addition to the app to offer widgets for quick adding and viewing of counts from the Home Screen. My second issue is that when I downloaded the app and at the time of writing, the App Store page advertises 50 percent off the subscription price and in the app there is absolutely no mention of this. Seems kind of odd to me.

WHY
when adding a food item — because the existing entries literally make ZERO sense— am I only able to select ounces or fluid ounces per unit, and HAVE TO select one or the other. IT MAKES NO SENSE. Why can I not select cups or grams or LITERALLY ANY OTHER STANDARD UNIT OF MEASUREMENT. Trying to be healthy is already confusing enough for the extreme majority of people, we don’t need an app pretending to help and just making it worse. So frustrated and have literally only had this app for less than 10 mins. Do not get it if you’re ND. Want to give 0 stars for how frustrated this has made me already in the short time I’ve had it but unfortunately can’t. I guess the barcode scanner feature is okay, so there you go. Edit: ALSO NO OPTION TO MODIFY MEAL PLANS TO ACCOUNT FOR ALLERGIES. Literally unless you have absolutely no considerations you’d like to account for in your planning/access, just stay away from this app and save your money. Utterly ridiculous.

Not Free
First this app is not free as it states when it comes up, you have to pay a subscription. Second the scanner never works, it’s constantly keeps scanning and when it finally stops does not even give you the item option. When you do search for the items the nutrion facts are never the same. We should just be able to have the option to take a picture of it and the system automatically enter it, or at least give the more options beside oz/fl oz or even the serving size. For women, it should also have the option to input menstrual cycles as this cause fluctuations and water retention and we can better see how this is affecting the progress. There’s a reason why they don’t give a trial, I will just leave it at that.

Simple app, poor database and terrible scanner
I was looking for an alternative to what I was using and unfortunately purchased the premium before really testing thoroughly. The interface is nice and simple. It got me focused on protein which helped a lot, but the food database is severely lacking. Too much time searching for foods that are common and should be easy. The final straw for me was the barcode scanner. It’s never worked. Very disappointing as I’m always in a hurry and on the go and I wouldn’t have purchased the app if I knew the barcode scanner didn’t work. I downloaded myfitnesspal, easily found the foods I was looking for, scanned a barcode and promptly deleted this app. I wish I could get my money back as I’ve not even been using it a month!!

HOW COULD IT GET ANY BETTER
I just started working out and weight lifting consistently two weeks ago for my weight gain journey. And I simply wanted a tracker for my calories to assure I’m consuming enough to really gain weight along with lifting. I saw this app with such a cute icon btw. AND ITS MORE THAN I EVER WANTED. It tracks EVERYTHING, your water consumption, & lets you to pick the foods you’ve eaten down to the serving & BRAND! It even gives u recipes along with the meal suggestions and meal plans. And then even makes a grocery list for you to shop for everything you’ll need for the week for these meals. This is EXACTLY what I needed. Really dope app

Good almost great.
I’m on sort of a Mediterranean diet and would love to see that as a meal plan option… with the ability to exclude allergies like shellfish. I suppose it’s nearest the DASH option but, yeah. Or, even the ability to construct a my own menu for the week in advance and build a shopping list too; that would be phenomenal. Otherwise, I think the food entry section has a few kinks; specifically the serving type, unit & size area… Entering a single serving of creamer for example, I had to add in the title that meant just 2 tablespoons as tablespoon wasn’t a unit option… I also don’t think I saw pounds and fraction of pounds for meats? Most everything was in grams on the list which takes a lot of time for me to do the conversion per meal. & for me the barcode scanner rarely works and searching seems to yield wild results. One example being broccoli; I got a match with the barcode but the data wasn’t accurate to the nutritional label. The ability to clear items from recent foods list or at least make it so they don’t repeat would be great too. Otherwise, so far so good!

Terrible Subscription Business Model
As soon as you download this app, before you can even access it or see what it looks like, you are prompted to sign up for a subscription. You can either pay $20 for a 1-year subscription, or do a 3-day free trial and then it’s $9.99/week or $40/year after that. Obviously, if you’ve never seen or used this app before, like me, you’ll opt for the 3-day free trial. Only, the $20/year option completely disappears after that and there’s no way to get it back after your trial has ended. I have reached out to support to try and get the offer back with no response. I am so angry at what a horrible business practice this is that I refuse to purchase out of principle. I will be switching to a different macro tracking app, even though I would have willingly given you my $20. Unbelievably awful business model.

Limited
The very very basics - find what you eat, enter it into your daily goal. You can only choose 2 daily goals tho … lose weight or maintain weight - and then you are locked in to what you choose. There is zero flexibility for people that want a more custom way. A lot of the organic and health foods I am eating, are not included. So I have to add, no big deal. After you add a food item, you can’t edit it or look back at it. You can’t see any info of that item after you have added it to your meal. You can’t see it, NOR can you edit it. Let’s say you have 1 egg. You enter 1 egg. You can’t go back and see the nutrition of rust egg. NOR can you add another egg. You have to delete your 1 egg, search for eggs all over again and then add 2 eggs. The remaining fats, calories, and carbs per day is good but also very limiting. Very. Adding in workouts was also pretty clumsy I think. I want an app that can also suggest things. This app seems like a good start for someone that is just starting out in nutrition to be more conscious, but for an athlete for someone serious about a training goal - it is missing a lot.

Helpful but missing some things
I opted for this app because it was the suggested app for Apple devices. I paid for my membership, so I am reluctant to move onto another program. This does a fine job for tracking macros, but is surprisingly difficult in a few areas. 1. It does not seem to recognize the foods that I prefer or record regularly. Even when marking them as favorite foods, I still have to type the full name out for it to come up, and even then, scroll down a list to find them. 2. Often, I scan the barcode only to find the information recorded in the app is different than provided on the container. I’ve even found it to be a different product altogether. 3. I have mistakenly recorded information in either the wrong meal or for the wrong day, and it would be helpful to simply click the items and change that meal/day rather than delete everything and start over. 4. I have my water intake set to 8 ounce cups and for whatever reason it will not allow me to add one cup at a time. When I hit the +, it adds 2 cups. Outside of these things, it does the job.

No good!
I tried the free trial and never received a reminder that the free trial is ending, I am pretty good at keeping track and I went to cancel my subscription in time, how to cancel I’ve very vague, I thought I did so and I got charged $9.99 for a weekly subscription, I contacted support and they tell me developers cannot issue refunds or cancel subscriptions, that it is controlled by iTunes. Am still trying to figure out how to cancel. They say you get 3 days free trial, however, once you get charged after 3 days they consider those free 3 days part of your paid subscription so you will be charged another $9.99 in 4 more days, but you have to cancel 24 hours prior to you subscription renewal otherwise you will be charged for the next weeks subscription. I have never had this much trouble canceling a subscription! Best to avoid this app!

Love it but recipe building needs improvement
I have had this app for over a year and have lost 50 pounds so I really like it! But one thing I wish it had (unless I just have missed how to do this) is when creating a recipe that I can add to the recipe how many servings. For example, it calculates the entire recipe and then gives one serving as the total calories for the whole meal and breaks down to jus 1/4, 1/2 serving etc. but it’s doesn’t allow me to put in 12 servings for example, and then divide the whole recipe by 12 to be able to add the calories and nutrients for what you actually ate. So for now i divide it myself and add the calories manually.

App has too many shortcomings
The developers of this app clearly do not understand food recording but have otherwise designed a nice UI that surpasses myFitnessPal. Here are the limitations: -The app requires the user to choose their preferred units, which is fine for weight tracking but not for creating new foods or meals. A user needs to be able to create foods and meals using either metric or imperial. -when creating new foods there are limitations in what unit sizes are available (eg tablespoon) and there is no ability to add a fractional amount (eg .5oz) -when recording foods consumed there are limited options to choose from in the fractional amount. Many recipes are listed as serving 6 or 8etc, but the app has no way to record 1/6 or 1/8 of a recipe. Rendering the new ‘create a meal feature’ virtually useless. -the app locks the user out of meal logging once fasting has started, so if you are someone that logs your food later rather than immediately, you are out of luck once the fasting clock has started. Unfortunately did not uncover these items in the short trial period but going to ask for a refund if these items are not resolved.

Like it!
I do like the app , i use it since the beginning of this year to track my calorie and mostly protein intake. There is a thing I would add to to have it perfect ! When we have the breakfast , lunch titles , it shows the calorie intake for each of them , but not the amount of protein , fats and carbs eaten on this particular meal. I am tracking my calorie intake and proteins and I would love to see my protein for each meal. Now before logging the lunch for example I have to check the protein for breakfast and see the difference from the total . I hope that make sense 🙈it does in my head

Best if it’s kind!
I really love this app and how easy it is to use. I’ve tried a few and this one is the absolute best I’ve tried yet. I appreciate how many foods and brands they have already saved. I meal prep for weeks in advance and I can add and save meals I’ve made and I can easily find them. I am also able to add a meal I make for 4 people and separate it to see how many calories I ate from my portion. I can add foods from restaurants on my cheat days, thanks to the wide selection of foods listed in the app. Both my husband and I use the app to keep track of our calories, macros and to keep a diary of our food. I only wish I could type in a recipe and share it with him to save time from having to add it to his phone as well. But besides that small set back this app is accurate, easy to use, and very informative. I will definitely keep using it even after I loose the weight I’m hoping and trying to loose for my anniversary.

Amazing
I rarely write reviews on AppStore and its usually when i don’t like something. THIS IS THE BEST APP ON THE ENTIRE APPSTORE. It’s working better than fine, it’s simple and clean, and the best thing of all is it’s free. Just the fact that it’s a solid app and it is not trying to pickpocket me for my credit card id or some insane subscriptions fees is amazing. To be honest I saw the add on Instagram and instantly thought it must be a 20$/month or 50$/year (you know like every other app that you find and get disappointed. To sum up my thoughts GOOD WORK, PLEASE DONT RUIN THE APP IN THE FUTURE. I realize that you must make money, but for gods sake, just add the adds.

Beware of subscription
I downloaded the app to try it out and immediately was asked to sign up for trial. I didn’t want to and saw there was an X on the prompt. I was able to start browsing the app and realized it wasn’t for me within a minute or so. I didn’t go through the Apple ID sign-in / double click to agree to anything so I removed the app and thought it was good I at least got to check it out. Then as I usually do, I wanted to ensure nothing was under my subscriptions. To my surprise, this app was listed under current and it said I was on a trial; I canceled it right then and there. Just days later I got a charge for the app! Definitely not happy about this type of tactic. Cannot comment on the app’s purpose since I didn’t end up keeping it but beware of the sneaky subscription.

A few changes would be nice but really good
It is a good app and much more affordable than myfitnesspal. A couple issues I’ve had that would ease QoL is that when adding foods to the breakfast, lunch, dinner, it resets back to the top of the page each time. If I need to add a couple fruits back to back on the list I have to scroll back down to find it again. The next issue is the barcode scanner. No matter what I scan, it will not read barcodes, so that’s disappointing The third thing is macros. We should be able to set macros manually and not just by percentage. I understand what the goal is but being able to adjust to our specific needs will help a lot

Ultimate calorie & food tracker tailored for your personal health journey
This app makes it incredibly easy to monitor and creates awareness of your daily intake and excercise, helping you stay on track with your personal health goals! Whether your trying t shed a few pounds, gain muscle, or just maintain your current weight, HitMeal simplifies the process. One of the best features is it synced to your iPhone/Apple Watch. It automatically loads my excercises and calories burned, which makes tracking my activity effortless. Two suggestions: While it tracks carbs, protein, and fat, adding a sugar count would provide an even more complete picture of your nutrition. Additionally, I’d love to see Pickleball added to the list of activities under the excercise tracker. Overall, if your looking for an easy-to use calorie and food tracker to support your personal health and fitness goals, look no further than HitMeal

1kcal=1000cal
The first thing I noticed when I opened the app is the inaccurate information between cal and kcal. In the medical field kcal= 1000 calories. I tried to bring up this concern to the dev and was told no they are the same. They really are not, I tried to explain the difference and their response was to send me a blog post. Not a medically backed document but a blog post that anyone can write. I shot back multiple medical conversation tables as well as medical studies and honestly I’m abhorred at this app. Comparing the calories of the same food from multiple apps and health sites. The ones in this app is grossly off. I thought this app could help because it had great reviews but I find it will be detrimental to people’s goals with the lack of accuracy. Even the response from the developer is disrespectful lol.

Great, but has a few bugs
I love this app, I have already had it for a week and it’s great. But there is one problem. The problem is that when I use the treadmill and I do 60 minutes and burn 400 calories it won’t let me put it in and says that “treadmill” is already is the exercise list. That would be ok if when I go on the exercise list and go on “treadmill,” it would let me put in both my calorie burn count and time. Instead, it only lets me put in the time and it assumes (incorrectly) the amount of calories I burned. Note to developers - Please fix this so I can just put in the calories burned off and time when using the elliptical. Thanks

Water reminder idea
Hey i’ve had this app for a while now and i wanna say i love it. If you’re considering wether or not to pay i would 100% recommend getting it too. i was skeptical about it at first but it’s a really easy app that keeps you on track. One thing i wanna add is possibly adding a water reminder notification. I’m busy all day and often lose track of time and i feel like a water reminder would help me get more water in when im lost doing work. Overall a great app though💯

Needs Updates
I like this app, but it needs some updates. Having an icon to select dates in calendar form will make viewing past logged entries easily accessible. Right now we have to scroll to find a date which is time consuming. Also some of the nutrition that’s automatically set is incorrect. Enabling us to edit that for our personal profile only would be great. I know we can edited the ones we put in, but allowing us to edit all of them based on our needs would be beneficial instead of us having to create a new food. If the app had those updates, I’d give it 5 stars!

Why can’t I?
Why can’t I remove calories after accidentally adding them? your app now thinks I have eaten 30,000 calories for breakfast. When adding a recipe, why can’t i specify how many servings the recipe makes? My recipe made 10 servings. I add it to breakfast, it thinks i have eaten 2700 calories for breakfast. Your app doesn’t let me say i only at 1/10th of a serving. Just make things a little easier? Now apple health thinks I eat 30,000 calories a day, thanks. Why can’t i edit an ingredient in a recipe? If i want to change an ingredient, i must remove it, then re add it. This is a poor experience. I regret purchasing this app!!! there must be far better ones out there.. i wish i tried others before going with this one :/ buyers remorse :/

didn’t keep the app
I would’ve tried this app for longer, im sure it had good qualities. I was just disappointed when filling out my goals, and there wasn’t an option for weight gain. It showed “lose weight, stay fit, or gain muscle” which isn’t what i’m looking for at all. I’ve been trying to find an app that helps me plan meals, and count my calories . I’ve struggled with gaining weight for awhile, so I thought an app would help me. It’s been extremely difficult to find one that can make a plan that works for me. I’m trying another app now, and maybe if this one changes the goals i’ll try it again.

Best calorie counter app!
I don’t usually write reviews but this app is so great that I really want to share my experience. I tried many different calorie counters and most of them a very complicated. HitMeal is very well designed and very easy and intuitive to use. Much better then many other apps I tried like MyFitnessPal and others. Yet it has all the features I need. And the best part is that app is free at least at the moment. Would recommend this to everyone who cares about its diet and food.

No way to delete entries?!
So I literally just bought the app and was playing around with it. Went to the gym, had Waffle House for breakfast, and was seeing what I might have for dinner. Added the thing (haven’t actually ordered it yet), realized I should order something else. But all I can do that I know of is change the number of servings but can’t save a value of 0 servings or delete it once it’s added? Really stupid design choice. I do like everything else about it though. Pls fix, unless I’m just not seeing something…

Yet another deception
Zero stars. I installed the app, based entirely on your top review, that said they liked the option to use it for free with basic capabilities. After starting the app, the set up screen wants me to sign up for a pricey subscription, or a “free trial” for three days, then be charged monthly. I am sick of these subscription models. Sorry, but I came into this, when most useful apps were either free, or a one-time $0.99 charge, and developers were making huge amounts of money on millions of sales. If basic capability for free is an option, then provide it! Otherwise, say what it costs up front, instead of misleading us with hints of a free option, and no indication of the price before download.

Love app
I really love this app. It works really great with what I need it for. The only thing I wish is when creating a recipe it would allow you to add how many servings that recipe is for and then once you add to your tracker then you can add how much of it you ate. Good example is I make homemade coffee creamer. When I add in the ingredients to make this is creates a whole jar which isn’t one serving it’s about 10. I wish I could add and then add the tablespoons etc I used. I do think that portion is a little limited but other then that this app is great!

No option for net carbs?
This is a nice ap, very easy to use compared to the last one I was using. I’m using it to track macros and my biggest gripe is I can’t see how to change the carbs to net carbs. Ex: I use keto bread that’s 13 carbs per slice but since they have 12 g dietary fiber, it’s only 1 net carb per slice, yet the ap is documenting it as 13 carbs… actually 26 carbs for a sandwich, instead of 1-2 carbs every time I eat it. It’s driving me insane! I have no idea if I’m in my carb goal or not because of this. I tried looking to see if I could duplicate a food and then update it with the net carb amount in the carb section and, and then save that food to my favorites but am not seeing how to do that. The only reason I haven’t canceled the subscription and requested a refund is that I otherwise like the ap and I’m hoping it’s a setting I can switch and I just haven’t figured it out yet. I did email support days ago to ask and haven’t heard back….

Want my money back
I have no idea why this app has such great re. I paid ~$20 for a year subscription because the alternative weekly was so much more expensive. Here’s why I want my money back: 1. The barcode scanner on this app PULLS UP THE WRONG ITEM AND WRONG NUTRITION INFORMATION. If you type it in it sometimes finds it. When it does the nutrition information is correct even though the barcode scan showed totally different nutritional. 2. When it can’t find your food and do a quick manual entry, it doesn’t ask for fiber. 3. You can’t see macros for individual meals; 4. It doesn’t allow you to import recipes-so you have to type it all manually. Save your money and get Myfitnesspal for free. This app stinks!

Ehhh
I like the features it has for the water and how the app is simple to use. But I immediately requested a refund within an hour of buying. Which the developers can’t do. You have to go through Apple. The kcals do not match up to the item. Even when I scan the barcode. The calories, carbs, etc are all drastically off. Enough to here it could offset a deficit. It told me my breakfast sandwich I made was well over 800 calories when it was only 200. That was tracking everything and marking everything. It’s not something that knows of a bunch of items. Even the Oikos Pro Greek Yogurt wasn’t in their system and was still wrong by 30 calories when I scanned the barcode.

NOT ACCURATE IN TOTALS!
I decided to double check the math on the conversion to macros to calories and it was off I had been eating more calories than it said I consumed. Also all of what I select as what I ate is accurate but the app messes that up to when it puts it to your macro chart. I just did a update hope that fixes the issue. I’m very upset because I’ve been disciplined for months entering and tracking and weighing everything. The only thing this app is good for now is a glorified note pad for tracking your food. I gave it two stars because I like the layout. However the layout is worthless if the math is incorrect.

Good app!
The app is good and especially for the price in comparison to it’s competitors. However, is there a way you could look into developing a way for users to select multiple items without it going back to the top after each selection? For users that generally eat the same thing, this can be quite annoying to constantly rescroll back down to complete a meal. Other than that, I’ve been using the app for 9 months and really enjoy it. Thank you!

3 things I like/ 3 things that could improve the experience
Like: 1. The interface is intuitive, simple and easy to use. 2. It tracks everything I need it to track, including fasting intervals. 3. It is affordable. Improvement: 1. Include an 18:6 option for fasting. 2.The app could be more flexible with portions, macros, and serving sizes, times and dates. The user could adjust all features when needed. It feels like a one size fits all. 3. Include more dietary options such as Paleo, WW, vegan, etc Overall, a very good app!

It’s alright
I wish there was more to it. Things like vitamins needs would make this pretty good and workouts are difficult to add. It’s not user friendly enough for me and I’m tech savvy. Good app though. I have a 1 year subscription and used it for like a month once and now here I am a week back in to using it. I am eating more healthy to not budge my daily limits and I feel way better. I set hourly alarms and am drinking about 14oz once an hour from 7am-8pm. I love that you can weigh yourself to see if it’s working and have those entrees in the app

Mostly okay — scanner not great
And the serving sizes are confusing. More often than not, the scanner does not work. And the quick find foods are confusing — I don’t know if a serving is one ounce for a particular food, but this seems to be the only way to input and I often am getting my foods wrong. It sometimes doesn’t advance a day so I accidentally record over a weight from the previous day. If it were easier to manually add food, scan a food, or change a serving (like in MFP), this would be much better.
