The app is great specifically the search filters, there’s a lot to be used to help get the best language partners for you. There are some flaws, for example you might come across a profile that seems like the perfect language partner but when you go to send a message a pop up will appear saying that you can’t other than that not many flaws. Very little bots as the app is very good at sussing them out.
The site is rampant with scammers and fake profiles. I guess that’s what happens when a chat site doesn’t charge for its services, and it performs no identity checks or verifications when a person joins. I read a review in here by literalkev who said his account was flagged for suspicious activity two weeks ago. That’s exactly what happened to me, and at about the same time. I asked them for clarification, like what the suspicious activity was, but they didn’t reply. Actually, they never reply to specific requests or questions. They even have the nerve to caution someone against reporting too many scammers and fake profiles. Can you believe it? They provide a flagging tool, but they actually tell people not to report other profiles so much. I’ve had a few good conversations with legitimate people, but I would wager that about half of the profiles are either of fake people or scammers. There’s a public forum (the wall) where anyone can post a comment, but it feels creepy and cringy. Scrolling through those comments is like walking through a desolate, dirty zombie town. But again, it’s free, so what do you expect?
If you are a scammer then this is the app for you. If you’re a genuine user then stay away. The vast majority of users on this site are scammers. These scammers employ various strategies including phishing, identity theft, money draining schemes etc. Not only does the app take no action to provide better security they actually encourage scammers. I guess having a large number of users boosts their stats, even if these users are fake. I reported on scammers to the site moderators and received a warning message saying that I need to stop reporting and soon after my account was deleted. Yes, you read it correct, my genuine account was deleted for reporting scammers. Going through other reviews of the site here I see this is a common occurrence and others have faced it too. The site actively encourages scammers by deleting accounts of genuine user who report on them. Stay away
I got this app to meet new friends around the world, and all I got was perverts and fake accounts. They always wanted me to download another platform to talk on, claiming it would be private. The men asked sexual questions and it truly just make my skin crawl. Bad thing is, when you join, you can’t cancel your account for 7 days. And reaching out to tech support was just as bad. They suspended my account for reporting the men on the site. They claimed that I had inappropriate behavior. HUH!!!!! All I had was a profile picture. So now, I’m blocked out of that account and I can’t go back to delete my picture or information. Truthfully, I didn’t know there were that many sick and twisted men out there. This was an eye opener for me. But I would like them to give me back access to delete my personal information and picture. Like I said, good idea, poor execution.
Spend years making friends and then lose the ability to talk to them in one day for no reason.
User Beware: I've had my InterPals account for two years and have absolutely loved it, but about two weeks ago, my account was flagged for suspicious activity and suspended. I've tried to reach out to the admin team multiple times to find out why this happened and what I needed to do to correct the issue, but have received no response from anyone on their team. It's really heartbreaking because I have a lot of friends on the app that I can no longer communicate with due to this issue. I've never violated their terms of service or sent spam or anything like that, but here we are. My suspension message said the automated system or the admin team suspended my account and there was no reasoning made available to me after that. I spent a lot of time building my profile and making friends there and now all of that is gone. I would probably rate this app at least 4 stars were it not for this awful development.
The notifications tab only shows the friend requests that were accepted. The app says I have 1 notification, but it isn’t showing up and I have no idea where it is. My only other issue is that it is very slow and freezes very easily. Other than that this is an excellent app. Give it some love and I’ll improve the rating
This app isn’t horrible but it has issues with several things. 1: there is a large banner ad that covers the entirety of the area where the third newest message in your inbox is meaning you either have to wait for someone to message you or go on the website. 2: there is a lot of lag. The app may show a new message but you have to close the app completely and reopen it to view the message. 3: when I uploaded a photo one had been uploaded by mistake when trying to delete said photo I was met with an error message and had to again close the app completely just to delete that message. This is a good start but it lacks a lot and has room for improvement. For now I think I’d rather use the website on a browser instead of the application.
The app is pretty convenient, but recently I haven’t been getting notifications from the app, even though I checked and I have notifications turned on both through the app and my phones settings. I’ve even deleted and re downloaded it several times, sometimes the problem goes away but it always comes back within a few days. Pretty annoying
I had this app for only 4 days before getting suspended for absolutely nothing. when I emailed support requesting reinstatement they told me I broke terms of service and was permanently banned. I have no idea how since all I did was upload a profile pic and have some nice conversations I wasn’t able to finish. Lots of scammers and bots on this app but they suspend the real people looking for friends. The app is glitchy. It freezes often and action buttons need clicked multiple times to even work. Almost unusable. Don’t waste your time.
The app isn’t smooth yet but it works well enough and InterPals is great!
InterPals is an amazing website to meet new people around the world! I’ve been using the website for years now. I’ve made quite a few genuine friends around the world. It’s great to finally see an app and I’m sure they will continue to improve it over time. I appreciate that it exists at all honestly!
I’ve been on this site for close to 10 years now and was thrilled to find there was finally a mobile app. Unfortunately it’s plagued by constant pop up notifications of profile views keeping the app from being functional, as well as messages not being marked as read. It has potential to be a great app and serve the same purpose as the desktop site. I think if the developers listen to the feedback from legit users it could be great.
I’ve been on InterPals for 20 years, and I’m so happy to see there is now an a native app! Overall the app offers a good, solid experience. The very picky software developer in me does say there is room for UX cleanup, but I have no room to complain as this is free software, so 4 stars for now. Thanks for the wonderful service!
This app has been around long enough to fix the serious bugs that plague it. Lately, the worst being that randomly I can no longer reply to anyone. But also, random crashes, crashes when I click on messages of a deleted user, or freezing when someone new messages me or views my profile. It has great potential and I’m glad it’s free but I really can’t understand the long lasting issues
A really great app for meeting friend, sharing cultures and languages! However, the UI leave a bit to be desired and sometimes the feed on mobile will not load photos etc. wonderful app just needs a good polish and a revamped UI, something less boring and maybe a dark mode would be great also. If it had some of these features 5 stars for sure!
Many many times I’ve had to make a new account. Randomly getting suspended and logged out. Even if the account was brand new. You can try and appeal the suspension. Yet no one will look at the claims. And your account is likely to never be active again. Multiple people have had this happen. And have complained. Nothing gets done and nothing changes. It’s a great platform for meeting people. Just keep updating your platform. Look at reviews. Fix the d@mn problems
The app could be better, it’s vintage but I feel it’s simple and age friendly as well as far as use. Lots of scammers but also, I’ve built lots of strong friendships there as well and has really changed my life. Just be careful.
So I love interpals and the fact can chat with people around the world is amazing. My complaint is it doesn’t reload all the time you have to sign out then back in a lot that is very frustrating would love to see that fix

I’ve been using this app for a few weeks and I’ve met some really awesome people all over the world. There are a LOT of fake accounts that you have to weed through to find someone that is actually who they say they are. The messaging system isn’t the best either, but it works. Overall it’s just okay.
I like using the app because you can send or post pics easily. The site is pretty good. I enjoy it. If the scammers would stay away and just let real people connect and make friends that would be awesome
A very good app for those people who are interested in broadening their worldview or knowledge of other languages. I could not give the app 5 stars because there are fake accounts and people using this as a dating app. If you can ignore that there are many benefits of using this app
InterPals is a really cool app, but it doesn’t really work if you block people, so maybe make that better. Also if you report people nothing happens ever. That’s it. Otherwise, awesome app, I’ve made many friends.
I’m sorry, but the app is full of child predators and people who just want to see naughty photos. It’s disgusting, but once you make sure that you don’t come across these people, then it’s smooth sailing
I have iPhone 13 and now it will not let me upload photos on there to share to my friends or gobal. It isn’t like it was where you can change while getting notifications. So there is a delay in this update.

The app is constantly getting rid of your profile pictures and info you put in every time you refresh or reopen it, and it’s getting very annoying. This is my only issue with it but other than that I mostly like the app.
I like being able to share with people here. It’s good to be aware of what life is like around the world. My husband produces an international jazz video every year and we find people on InterPals that participate! Good Bless Ukraine.
Interpals is a good site for making friends from around the globe and connecting with people anywhere in the world however the features of the app are so bad that sometimes you literally can’t even view your notifications. For such an app that’s been in existence for so long,I’m surprised it still needs a lot of work!Fix it please!

Well, the community was ok until i saw all the islamic posts about palestine and Israel and other stuff, then half the posts were pervs who posted themselves half nude, and a bunch of dudes shirtless or weirdos complaining about girls, this app isnt good for learning a language and its just creepy, i went to delete my account and they make you wait a week or so before they let you, creeps!
It is a little slow and sometimes there are glitches when I try sending a picture. Not to mention that the offline and online green/gray dot isn’t really accurate
I’d love to give this app 0 stars, but alas, I cannot. I’ve tried to create an account twice now, but both times, I was suspended for absolutely no reason? Didn’t even get into the app and do a single thing and I was suspended. Disappointed because I wanted to try the app out, but I guess I’ll search elsewhere.

it’s pretty good could use a dark mode and search for people’s info in the filters if you are looking for someone how is also single or taken stuff like that not just their language or country would be nice that’s pretty much it
First it says your password is wrong so I changed it 3 times then it went to the next page and keeps saying I need to pick at least one language. Well I already did 3 x so it will not continue. I will be deleting this app
