It doesn’t count sets accurately until you seat the weights in the base after each set which is kinda annoying if you’re doing a circuit or the base isn’t near your workout area. The reps and power metrics are way off. It doesn’t track small things bicep curls if you have to take the weights out of the base, stand up, and walk to your workout area. Apparently that calibrates the weights for a large motion like a deadlift so small movements are given almost no power output. The heart rate and calories only tracks if you have a fitness watch but if you use your Fitness app then the metrics go to that workout app. This app doesn’t ask to see Health data do it can’t see what you’re actually doing. Also stopping this workout stops your Apple workout as well. If you’re toggling between this app and another app this won’t track anything. At all. It can’t just run in the background? Guess not. The Freestyle workout option is pretty good for being free. The quality of the metrics is terrible, but if it worked like it should (hire a programmer!) it would be awesome. So. Much. Potential. So. Currently. Disappointing.
Got booted out of the app and password recovery not working. There’s a message saying the app is undergoing maintenance or some such baloney. Did Jaxjox go out of business or something? I wish I had bought a non-electronic adjustable kettlebell instead. Update: The app has been inaccessible for multiple weeks. At this point, I’m guessing Jaxjox is on its way out of business. I mean, what good is an app that is the major interface for my hardware but is inaccessible? Nevermind the way they had been scaling back features in the app for awhile before that. How would it look if Garmin’s Connect app was unusable for weeks on end? Yeah, not good. Going to try to sell my Jaxjox kettlebell and get something from a different manufacturer instead.
I’ve been trying to login for days it won’t let you past the login screen to actually use the app I’m so glad I wasted hundreds of dollars on trying to buy all of your equipment to be rendered useless by something as small as not being able to login to your app. I reached out to support days ago, but no response. If you look at earlier reviews it seems like I shouldn’t even hope for it. I can’t believe they have the audacity to still sell their equipment without fixing their app. It should be illegal.
Almost every time I open the app I immediately keep getting kicked out of it and every time I try to log back in I keep getting a message the says timeout or the can’t recover my password word there are way to many issues with this product also with me when I switch to a different weight the bar gets stuck and the it starts to freeze and I have to reset it all the time that what I get for purchasing these
Was an early adopter of the equipment and it has been down hill the entire time… Now you can’t use the app to adjust the equipment without a PAID subscription 👎🏼👎🏼, and the issue of having to log in every time you use the app has not been fixed after 18mo. 😤It’s time to put on eBay and go to another vendor😳. I wonder if they will even respond to theses negative reviews.
Loving the new app! Feels premium and is very intuitive. The new For You page with recommended workouts is my favorite. So easy to find workouts tailored to my goals and equipment.
Discouraged my wife from using it because the electronic music won’t stop when you hear her voice. If the I adjust the less voice and more music the electronic and pop music are going at the same time. It sounds like the electronic music was recorded with the voice.
Horrible app - waste of money to buy their equipment
App use to be decent but is unusable since you can never log in. I suspect they are out of business as nobody ever replies. Thankfully - I bought the dumbbells at an extreme discount but knowing what I know now I would have bought a second pair of powerblocks instead.
I can’t log in to the app, and can’t adjust my dumbells. It won’t let me reset my password, and I have sent multiple emails to support. I’m still waiting for a response, and it’s been 3 days? Please help.
The latest app update makes all the devices unusable without a paid membership. I was able to use the roller via manual control on iPhone/Apple Watch app. But the latest update took away that.
I think this app might be dead / no longer supported. I've tried to login several times over the last several months and every time it's "can't log in - servers are busy"
The app logs out randomly at least once a day. Most apps (unless they’re banking or medical) stay logged in. The JAXJOX app does not. The Push UpConnect connected once and uploaded data. Since then it does not record any data — except the one time it randomly synced 7 reps to the app, when the Push UpConnect itself had registered 30. Even though it recorded those 7 reps, it erased them all the next day from the app and said “You’ve done 0 workouts this week” and there was no data. Not sure what’s going on here but the app is extremely buggy.
I can’t use one of the dumbbells I ordered. Customer service experience is terrible. I’ve asked around and many people experience the same issues. Avoid at all costs.
The app updated and since then it will not connect to the account, it won’t let me create a new account, and it won’t even let me bypass the login so I can adjust the weights.
God put it out of the app for some reason, dealt with Support finally got logged in and then got booted out again. Now I can’t login and Support is so useless.
I used to workout with the Kettlebell Connect and follow the videos on my iPad, but I gave up trying to use the service after checking in every day for a week with no luck. There was no notice, warning, or any communication to let users know what was going on, so I naturally assumed the company had gone under and I moved on. Luckily Apple had just given me early access to Fitness+ so I began using that instead, deleted the useless JAXJOX app that only loaded to a white screen, and let my KettleBell Connect collect dust. More than two years pass I recently decided I would give JAXJOX another try since I saw a few ads and realized the company must not have gone bankrupt and didn’t vanish from the face of the earth after all. So I downloaded the new version of the app and immediately recoiled in horror when I saw that it was running in a tiny little iPhone sized window on my giant iPad’s screen. I decided as long as I could watch the workout videos in full screen, I could suffer through the suboptimal interface, but I couldn’t seem to find any kettlebell workouts with Devon. She was my favorite trainer when I last used the service and there were a few Kettlebell workouts she led that were the bomb. Those are all missing. I decided to pick a random workout just to see what the new ones are like and was immediately hit with a paywall… WHAT?! I paid $200 for this kettlebell and I can’t even use it in the manner I used to unless I am willing to pay another $156 every year? Must be some high quality workout videos for that much of an investment, right? Wrong! I decided to give it a try and decided to view one of the free skills videos assuming that it must be an amazing service to charge twice as much as Apple does for a fitness subscription… Boy, was I wrong! I almost laughed when the video started because it was still playing in an itty bitty portrait mode video that used about ¼ of my iPad screen. Not only that, but the coach was wearing all black and holding a black kettlebell in a dimly lit room in front of a black background, making it impossible to follow. Is this some sort of joke that I’m not in on? I don’t understand how this app exists in its current state since it’s basically unusable. Guess it’s time to get rid of my dusty old Kettlebell Connect.
Bought the kettlebell connect to try before I made a final decision between the JAXJOX interactive studio and Tempo fit. Both units are on back-order or pre-order status. So I thought this would be a good opportunity to check out jaxjox. I subscribed to the JAXJOX premium monthly subscription and the app worked once. After that, it kept randomly logging me out and would not allow me to take classes when I was able to log in because I didn’t have a premium subscription?! The Jaxjox kettlebell is well constructed, quickly changes weights, and takes up little space, but the app, content, and user experience need immediate attention if they hope to be successful in the very competitive home exercise equipment environment.
When I first downloaded the app, I had already bought the foam roller they sell. The build quality of the foam roller is really good, so when I saw the ratings on the app I was a little bit surprised, after having use the foam roller for only eight or 10 minutes, I realize why the app has such low ratings. The sad thing is they do not seem to have an iOS developer other team. The app is absolute trash. The hardware on the other hand, is freaking amazing, and that’s the only reason I am going to have to endure this terrible app. Stop forcing the work out service down our throats, all I want is the hardware and a good foam roller with a cool tech software experience. Is that too much to ask for?
Love the kettlebell and has been a god send during the early day of the pandemic. The workout videos are actually good and challenging but the tech of the app is terrible as everyone has mentioned. Maybe find some grad student to fix it up or poach someone from somewhere that knows how to write software. There is actually a lot of potential here even post pandemic at gyms in guided workouts just make it more seamless and organized.
This app is so bad, it’s difficult to comprehend that they charge a subscription for many of the features. It logs you out all the time, it doesn’t actually remember any of my workout stats, half the time stuff fails to load, navigation is buggy and unintuitive, and the kettlebell instructor can’t even keep count of her own reps. It’s mind boggingly bad, which is sad, because there’s some real potential here in a program to better track free weight workouts. This is far from that, unfortunately.
Bought the kettleball connect last May and had work arounds for the old app, but without Apple TV integration, it wasn’t great, so found their free workout videos and played them natively through a video app. Well, apparently they moved to a new app experience and didn’t even tell users. They moved to a subscription model and paywalled all their workouts. Terrible customer experience. I certainly would not spend another dime with a company that does a bait and switch like they’ve done to customers.
Connects fine, but almost useless without a subscription
It’s frustrating that without a subscription, the data doesn’t sync with Apple Health. I don’t need any classes or help with workouts, I know what I’m doing. The kettlebell is good, very easy to adjust and connect, but the app serves little purpose without a subscription even though it captures data that could easily sync with Apple Health. It seems like a bit of a ripoff after the 30 day trial.
The latest update fixes some of the issue from earlier and I’ve loved having this since I got it at Christmas. I play the videos and have a great time and the app does all the work. Learning more about my workouts from the data really motivates me.
I bought the JAXJOX kettlebell and Dumbbell. I was able to sync to the app with seconds with issues. I can see my data in real time and the trainers are amazing. Syncing to my TV was very easy and the products are amazing. I love the Fitness IQ metric but my favourite is the power metric for the strength workouts.
The most recent update fixed having to log in every time but has made it super difficult to control the weights. You basically have to guess, see what weight it gives you and then after it has adjusted, try again. The app is consistently a let down.
Like others, I’m a fan of the hardware. But app is dumb. I was actually happily paying for the subscription and really enjoying Lionel workouts - $13/month vs a gym membership and getting noticeable results. Now I can’t even access those, it’s just a small black square when I try to play the workouts. I even upgraded to the latest iPhone and iOS it’s been worse. The auto-logout is ridiculous. I wanna love this, but c’mon man!
This could be the single worst app in the App Store. It loses subscriptions, has no ability to restore them, loses connection to the device and their faqs are about buying the product not support. Their product person should have to sit in the middle of Texas without power listening to Ted Cruz talk for an extended period of time to understand their app experience. It’s roughly similar. BTW version 2.0.0 fixes nothing.
I am totally disappointed. I just got my KettleBell Connect, HR strap and FoamRoller Connect. Not a ton of classes and the ones that I tried have a washed out appearance when viewing. While the app does sync active energy, HR and steps (huh?) it does not sync workouts. That seems silly since the app saves other things but not a workout in which it has all the data for. This stuff ain’t cheap and hence the major disappointment as gear in my home gym
I have the prior version of the scale it’s white. I had the old app and it worked it’s suddenly stopped now when I try to connect it to this app it doesn’t work and will say I connected but when I go to controls it says no devices connected. I have no way to get my BMI, fat ratios, etc all I can do is use the scale itself for my weight tracking
How are you supposed to work out using a tiny iPhone screen? Also some of the videos don’t work, you could be stuck half week through training and the next class is not there, that’s really frustrating when you’re trying to follow a program break habits and create a new routines. But for real iPad version.
I am so disappointed with this app. The entire app is focused on upselling you with classes. I don’t mind that but how about at least providing a simple, reliable view that shows me my basic stats? The most important tab that _might_ have the stats is the last tab labeled “Devices”. When you click on it, the app crashes. What an epic letdown.
So I received my foam roller today, connected it to the app, and of course it no longer supports Apple Watch but their website , and even their box from Apple says “ Apple Watch compatible. Nope doesn’t even show Apple Watch compatibility Ivón on their app in the App Store. Also when I connected the foam roller to the app, it claims it’s connected, so I did a work out with it, and NOTHING synced to the app. It showed I worked out 0 times. Very upset. Especially for the price I paid. So I got the roller BUT! - -app doesn’t sync -Apple Watch won’t work with it -roller won’t count my work outs. Perfect.
You can’t manage your courses. Once you add one you can’t remove it from the day. You also can’t filter courses by the device you have, so if you don’t have the full studio you just guess? Really poor app experience. Kettlebell seems great but the app experience is so bad may return it.
Absolutely LOVE this company! They answer ALL my fitness needs. The app works perfectly with their kettlebells bell and dumbbells- will never use a normal kettle or dumbbell ever again!
Have had jaxjox kettle bell v2 for almost 2 yrs. This company doesnt even try to fix their sync problem. I wish I could return the device. Stay away from this company. It’s ridiculous. Apple should ban this app for its horrible quality.
I got the kettlebell and dumbbell. It basically replaced my whole home gym. Super pumped JAXJOX. Can’t wait for the interactive gym to arrive I get served up on my Insta all the time.
