Hard workouts, would like more flexibility.
I’ve only had the app for a week now. There is a lot that I like about it, but some things that are leaving me wanting. The workouts are definitely challenging and pushing me beyond my ability, which I both like and don’t like. I like that it is building a sweat and pushing me, but I don’t looks that there aren’t any modified workouts to do if I can’t complete one of the super sets as prescribed. It would be nice to finish a full set of a modified exercise instead of only being able to complete a small subset each time the exercise comes up. Also, the meal plan has some interesting recipes that look pretty good, however it is very repetitive. There isn’t any way to scroll through addition recipes once you’ve selected you preferences. It seems like getting the meal ideas for one month (or even one week) is all you need because everything is the same except for 1-2 meals a week. I like the tracking you can do and how you can move the workouts to meet your schedule. I do like the workouts it is giving me, but just feel it expects you to go from cold to already completing a lot of advanced stuff. It would be nice to provide feedback on how you did for each workout and then to modify the workouts after that based on capability

An ideal app for workout at home
It's been nearly a month that I've decided to use MadMuscles as my sports guide to build my muscles on top of. The app gently tracks your workout progress and based what you have defined as a goal coaches you through that. Since I'm using iphone and I have an apple watch to track my movement and sport activity during the day, it would be nice so the app be equipped with a feature to track my activity from the Health app and updates my info regarding my heart beat, burned calories, total movements and so on so it would be able to further coach me better through its bot. I like the meals since I have read in books from specialized sports nutritionists that you should repeat a meal over and over again through your workout plan. It makes it simpler to master preparing a meal very quick which is satisfying. I think there is a lot to enhance concerning profile management panel and adding more creative features would make it an ideal app to choose among similar ones. Thanks for your effort to provide such a great workout experince for anyone who desire to build a healthy and active habit. 🙏🏻 Also within a few couple of days regarding an issue with meal plan page, the support team were kindly in contact with me to resolve it and shortly I got error-free. Paying attention to the details on the side of the technical support team and an open-hand cooperation to resolve the reported issues deserved to be acknowledged and appreciated. 🌹🙏🏻

I bought the year and I don’t regret it
I really love it but I don’t think I’ll be resubscribing. Let me explain… To be honest I didn’t use it much after I moved which was about half way through my subscription but I was there when it was at its rawest. I love it and everything is simple enough to understand and easy enough to do, while targeting people who can’t work out without a demonstration. After a while it turned annoying when i saw it’s lacking simple features that could go a long way. Previous versions had “Coach Chris” which was an AI coach which made the app very simple and gave straight forward options for the wide variety of people, to chose your routine plan but I don’t see this anymore and wonder where that’s gone, in its place is a boring drop down box that doesn’t explain to you anything, as well as a bunch of the challenges and other features like being able to change how many days you want to work out. I love the app and enjoyed it more previously but I still use it and recommend it (maybe not over competitors since I haven’t looked much)

Eh. It works.
I tried out this app because I needed a little more direction in my workouts. And a full on gym membership isn’t in my budget. I do like the variety of workouts it provides and the schedule it gives. I don’t always stay on schedule for one reason or another. If I miss one day. I will make up for it the next day or the day after, just in an effort to stay consistent. One thing I do find inconvenient is the customization of the workouts. Sometimes I want to change one movement because I don’t the equipment required or I am unable to perform that movement. I can change the entire workout, which I don’t find as a good option because a lot of the movements in that workout are areas I want to strengthen and improve on. I know it’s probably asking a lot. But if the movements can be changed to a scaled version (band assured pull-ups for example) or cable rows being change out for bent over rows. I really don’t want to look through every alternate workout that is listed just to scale or modify one movement. I’ve been doing it on my own anyways, just to save time and get started on the work out. I am generally happy with the app. I feel there are areas that could be improved. Still on the fence if I want to continue my subscription after these first 3 months. Well, thanks for listening. Hope this helps.

Bad Today, Could Improve GUI
This feels like those ads, click funnels, and “lot-of-noise, little substance” rackets we all experienced in the mid-2010s trying to upswell drop shipping. Instead, it’s geared towards modular impersonal workout routines, and overly complicated, expensive meal plans. What’s worse, and honestly probably a legal liability is multiple purchase traps after checkout with one-click confirmation and vague opt-outs. I didn’t realize I was opting into one and tried to leave it causing a fraud alert from my bank. As a fair warning 30-day refund guarantee almost always means “We guarantee we’ll find a reason you don’t qualify for it.” Thankfully the customer service seems helpful and friendly, and if you’re passionate about this you might read more carefully and enjoy this, but for the average user looking for solutions, this app is likely not that solution. Providing more of a tool and resource that is clear of all of the purchasing before checkout would be great. Maybe even having a lite version or a demo so that people can decide if it’ll be the right fit would be more honest. I won’t be returning to find out, but this app needs some serious redesign because as it is right now, it feels like a scam, not a solution and instead of working out and reducing stress, I’m emailing and checking my bank to make sure the payments stop and I can leave this mistake behind me.

Tricky tricky (please read before downloading)
They offered me a free trial and they would start charging after it had ended, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to spend the money so I did the free trial and it made me put my credit card info in, couple seconds later I was charged 10$ for the subscription even though it said I was getting a free trial….. I contacted customer service about this and they refused to give me a refund, they wanted me to use their app and do tons of other things before I could qualify for a refund…. I just wanted a free trial, and my money back, I got neither and haven’t touched the app The app itself is about a 4-6/10 But customer service was 1-3/10 Summary They practically scam you and refuse to give you your money back, think of it like those “free v bucks” websites, you do everything they tell you to do but nothing happens and you don’t get your v bucks, they have there “amazing customer service” but honestly it was the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced ever, they would never help solve the problem, they kept passing me from person to person and took days to respond over me asking for a refund litterally within minutes of the purchase going through.. mad muscles only wants your money, and they offer a pretty garbage program that you can find a pdf of on Google, personally let’s look up workouts instead of wasting 10$ here

Confusing and deceiving charges
I signed up in December thinking it may be useful. I work out often so the workouts were too easy at first with really long breaks in the middle. The app didn’t always record my workout as completed, and as you try to scroll through the workout to see next thing its easy to go to a different place in the workout. In order to get refunded you have show you used it 2 weeks but the app didn’t always record that I completed the workout. When I signed up I thought I was only paying one time about $15 for a one month plan and my receipt said I wouldn’t be charged again until March. However, I was charged $25 again that same day and monthly bill started right away. Then when you cancel there is a screen after you think you have cancelled but there is no confirmation. The only option to move forward on the screen is press on getting two months free. I chose that thinking the next screen may confirm cancellation but I wasn’t cancelled. I had to go in again and do the cancellation process. The second time through it confirmed a cancellation. It was a different series of screens the second time. So they must set it up so you think you have cancelled but in fact you have not and your only option to choose is the two months free which then means they can end up continuing to charge you.

Money grab, don’t do it*update*
This is a scam if you have health issues. Fake apologies all around (it’s their policy) because they don’t really care that if their app doesn’t have something for your health type, or if it directly violates your doctor’s orders, they still expect you to use the app for 14 days and prove why it didn’t work to get money back (that’s assuming they will even hold true to giving it back, since I physically can’t do it). It’s a big scam and they don’t care about anything but taking your money! *Update- they contacted me multiple times in response basically saying too bad, you didn’t follow the rules, were not giving your money back. They don’t care about you or your health. It’s all about profit. **Second update** this company is still sticking to your story about it’s your policy and I basically should have read the fine print. I literally have medical conditions that would not allow me to meet your terms. I’m not sure what else you expect me to say. You’re treating me like a liar which speaks volumes about your business. I’m a fair person and would have honestly given it a shot and done what you asked if I safely could have done so, however, I medically could not. The fact that you expect everyone to fit the same mold is honestly another tell that you’re not experienced nought I. The science of biology or medicine. No thanks.

Misleading, possibly a scam, stay away
Didn’t do my due diligence, and the reviews I read must have been paid for (website reviews). App touts customization over workouts and diet plans, but nothing of the sort. Couldn’t figure out a way to define gym equipment I have in my home gym (power rack, dumbbells, pull down machine barbell etc…) to have plan issue exercises based on my equipment. Even worse, paid for the meal plan, which again os advertised as customizable, and went to the app to try and put in my dietary preferences and after not being able to find any options ended up back on the website where they basically just say they do the mediterranean diet, with no way to cut out ingredients if you have a food allergy like me. Worst part is, unlike plans I’ve tried in the past where they are confident enough in their product to offer no questions ask refund, they want exclude being disappointed with their product as a valid reason (even though they blatantly lie about the ability to customize everything). Only silver lining is if they’re not honorable enough to refund me I’m out $30 so nothing to lose sleep over. But worth it enough to try and raise awareness to their deceptive marketing. App itself is as basic as it can be and completely canned with no real ability for the user to tune it. Spend your money elsewhere.

Try the app for few days (3) I t was not for me it’s more like hit kind work out I like to rest at least 30 second before my next set the app go to fast but understand some people like that and more fit . I explain this to the mad muscle support and to please refund the money because I not even use the app pretty much and as customer if don’t like the product return it . They refuse to give me the refund because apparently I don’t meet the requirements to qualify for refund . Don’t understand how it’s that possible just been honest and explain why it’s was not for me but they still refuse to give me the money back I ask to speak to hire ups but they won’t give me any response on that Mia the person it’s been emailing me still not give me any info on how I can contact to resolve this issue . As a customer I am very disappointed I tried a shredd and latter apps and they are great and explain better and show you the work outs more profesional and the customer service it’s great . I like to change my workout and that why I decide to give a chance mad muscle but I am not happy whit the workouts and very disappointed whit the customer service and more when the accuse me of fraudulent. So don’t use this not work the headed at all . Like I say shred and latter great apps and very good programs and much profesional

Solid app
Overall i really like the app. Did a pretty good job of building a plan to what i wanted. App is clean with good tutorials and explanations. Some things i would love to see changed/adjusted. 1- allow app to continue when i leave it. I don’t love that if i go out of the app to send a text or change the song I’m listening to or anything, the app pauses whatever i was on. Would like to see my rest time continue. 2- maybe i can but haven’t been able to see how, but would like to adjust the meal times and/or adjust workout days. I wake up at 4am every morning, but the meal plan starts at 10am. Also i am out of town 1-2 weekends a month, so if a workout falls on that day, sometimes I’m not able to do them. If a user could adjust their workout days each week, and I’d users could input their normal daily routine as far as when they wake up, eat their meals, etc., i think it would be beneficial. Outside of that I’m really liking this app and excited to see the results at the end of this month and beyond.

Worst app and meal plan I’ve ever tried -Read the fine print on money back guarantee
The app looks promising with all the effort it takes to get started. When I went to start the workout, you can’t actually start. You have to wait for it to load and wait and wait and wait. 15 minutes later the app is ready. The videos jumped right in without any setup time. There’s no workout overview. There’s no description of anything you’re doing. Just a crappy poorly timed video. I didn’t even use it through the first workout. Complete junk! But be warned…if you want to get a refund, you have to suffer through the junk weeks and show proof you used the app. Complete trash! As for the meal plan, I chose the 1 hour prep plan. Apparently, that’s 1 hour per meal. The meals presented were extremely complex and would take 3+ hours a day to prep and cook. The shopping list was for individual meals and each has a long list of ingredients. Throw in another couple of hours to build your shopping list and go to get the ingredients. I’ve done lots of meal prep plans and there is the least useful and most complex of any I’ve used. If you’re looking for a workout app or meal plan, save your time and money and try any other before this one. It got 1 star because there isn’t a 0 star option.

Mad Muscles Review
I really enjoy the Mad muscles program, I enjoy having a guide to follow. The workouts really are good, and it feels like someone is there with me showing me the correct technique. I have looked, and I don’t like how you can’t choose which days you would like to work out, it automatically chooses for you. Which I’m more free some days than other. I also wish you could add on more exercises for that day. I only get 5 per day, and in the beginning I said I would like to do an hour each day, the workout is about 32 minutes. I wish the app was more customizable, it seems it’s either this way or the highway, you can switch out exercises, but you can’t add on more if you want to. There is a test my fitness feature to see what category you fit, (beginner, intermediate, pro) so maybe there are more options in the pro? Like I said, you can switch out exercises but I can’t add on more, even though when I first signed up the app asked me how long I’d like to work out per day, and it’s only giving me 32 minute workouts, high an easy fix is to let me add on more exercise per workout each day. I’m sure there’s a fix that I’m overlooking

Fake reviews - this is a throw away app
The app is scam. These reviews must be farmed. There is no customization possible and there’s bait-and-switch regarding the nutrition element of the app which is actually a heavy add on. Upon listing that I like to work out 3-4 days per week for one hour I’m matched with a program for 3 days at 32 minute workouts. You cannot move the days on the calendar. For example, the following day in personal schedule was a leg day. The app has it as a chest day. I didn’t want to do chest the next day because I had done it today. That day is not movable and the workout is not changeable. If you missed the gym or that workout didn’t fit, you’re stuck with it. Are you thinking that maybe you could simply view the next workout and do that one instead? You can’t unlock it until that day - which may not even be the day you want to work out. And why do I want a 32 minute workout when I specifically requested an hour? Do they not offer one hour workouts? This should have been offered to me. Extremely rigid. I can’t see anyone who is actually in a gym practice using this app. I quickly submitted this feedback to support after using the app for 15 minutes and realizing it was useless. I was denied a refund. Bad app. Scam. Buyer beware.

Decent for Price
I have definitely seen results in two months of sticking with this program. Fitness being the most important metric, it definitely passes. The added features like stretching and breathing instructionals are a nice addition. However, there are a lot of small issues. The clock pauses every time you do anything with your phone, even pulling down your notifications banner. The music connection does not work well and you can barely hear the instructions if you also play music from your phone. It would be nice if it could pause your music when the app is speaking to you. The previews also sometimes run out of time before the actual instruction ends. There have even been some in a different language than the one I selected. I have the difficulty set to 5 and the difference between “home” and “gym” is HUGE! I hardly break a sweat in the home setup but am gasping for breath in the gym setup, both on 5. All that said, it seems like they are continuing to work on the app. When I started, you couldn’t change your weight yourself and now you can. I also appreciate that it is a one time cost.

Shaking my head. What a joke.
I can watch Instagram fitness models and get more out of that than this app. I mean $50 for 6 months is pretty cheap compared to a real personal trainer, but the workouts are an ABSOLUTE J-O-K-E. I will be calling my bank tomorrow for a refund, and deleting the app. Shaking my head in disgust. I guess it could be okay for someone FIRST STARTING that has NEVER worked out before in their life. But considering I set the difficulty to 10, and said “I know my way around a gym” I mean, I can’t help but laugh at what it provided me with. I have dumbbells, a weight bench, and a resistance band. This thing told me to use 6L water bottles. Watching the video examples, the model has nice form, and provides a good example of the set. But again, seriously, if you have any basic knowledge of workouts and what to do for different muscle groups throughout the week, don’t waste your money. I only wanted to try it out so I’d have a strict routine to follow, because I do better that way and I can get chaotic doing every muscle group sometimes when I don’t have a list of sets to follow daily. All in all, saying I’m completely unsatisfied is an understatement. Whoever made this needs to LEVEL UP!!!!!! There is FREE content out there BETTER than this. Very disappointed.

Not the Best Fitness app to Buy
The app is good to remind you of workouts, but whether you know most exercises or not, you start from the very beginning. The exercise routine gets redundant and can be annoyingly tedious. For example, you’ll start a workout involving jumping jacks one day, and you’ll get a tutorial for 15 secs prior to you actually starting the workout. Without looking at your phone, you hear a beep which would mean, “Start the exercise.” When it actually means you start the tutorial. You’ll do a workout the following scheduled workout that also involves jumping jacks, and you guessed it, you’ll do the tutorial again. The meal planner is not so helpful either. I’m currently deployed utilizing this app, and I don’t have the luxury to buy greek yogurt and add blue berries and buy salmon steaks to grill. The meal plans are all THEIR recipes, you can never change the recipes or add your own like other apps. I wanted an app easily accessible for my busy work life, something to keep track of what workouts I’ll do and help me maintain or train for something upcoming. This app is more for the young (24-28) entrepreneur who was given money early in his life. Not for the working class.

Non-editable Just fix it
At first, I thought the app and program was great. The problems started when I realize that I could not change my days to fit my needs and my growth. For instance, if I chose Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday workouts and want to change my days to Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday it will not let me do that. I called them to ask how I can do this simple process and they said that I cannot. I was told that I should just take my work out and do it the day that I want to. The problem is that they will sporadically give me rest days. So one week I will get a rest day for Sunday and Monday and Thursday. Then the next week my rest days will be Monday, Tuesday and Friday then the next week it’ll be Tuesday Wednesday and Saturday. So if I want to follow their program and keep them on my days at times I will be two weeks ahead of myself in the calendar to find my work out for that day. As I said, I think it would be great, but it doesn’t allow us to have our own control with our days and are growth. I’m sure that I’m not the only one experiencing this. The purpose of an app is to make it very easy and simple for us. Just hire someone to fix it.

Limited workout planning for more advanced fitness personnel
I like the concept of your app however I would love it if I was able to divide my workout plan how I want to workout because I am more dedicated than only working out 3 days a week and I don’t like doing full body workouts every time unless I don’t have time or I missed workouts it feels sloppy. I would like to be able to divide my workouts between chest shoulders triceps/back and biceps/calvs quads/ hamstrings glutes. But the workout plan is not able to be manipulated in a way to get even close to doing that you can change out singular workouts but it’s limited on what workouts it will let you choose for that day. I would like to see the option to add more days, an option for me to be able to choose what type of workouts I would like to do for those days, complete freedom to edit everything (including food, workout styles, specific workouts). I don’t discourage new gym people from using this app but for someone that’s been doing this a while it doesn’t feel worth it unless these changes are made.

DO NOT GET THIS APP
Save yourself the trouble and avoid downloading this app. On the first day of my free trial, I attempted to cancel my subscription to avoid being charged at the end. Despite numerous attempts to contact their customer care, I received no response for days. It wasn't until I mentioned legal action that they finally responded, but even then, they refused to offer a refund. From day one, I expressed my desire to cancel, despite initially liking the app and intending to subscribe after the trial. Instead of checking their records, they asked me to submit emails I sent to them. Today, someone from their billing department contacted me to confirm cancellation, but claimed there wasn't enough proof of my cancellation requests. I'm deeply disappointed. As someone seeking self-care through an online app, this experience has been more stressful than beneficial due to unclear cancellation processes and delayed responses. It feels like they purposely delayed responses to let the trial end and charge for the next cycle. I hope Apple implements stricter verification of marketing practices. While I'm not an expert, I have retained legal counsel who will be contacting them. Beware of the app's unclear cancellation process and poor customer service.

Better than Better Me
I am a recent user of the Better Me app and now a convert to Mad Muscles! First off MM is up front about all the charges that will come to you, BM had challenges they advertised on Face Book but failed to mention each of the challenges costs an extra $10-20 just to participate in. I only gave 4 stars because I have yet to explore the entirety of the Mad Muscles app. Once I’ve used it for a month (or maybe after 6 months) I will come back and reevaluate my thoughts on its effectiveness. I start at 261lb and pretty much 35% body fat. Ask me in 6 months what I’m down to and how I look! On a closing note, I like that if you’re a beginner they start you out small but still challenge you and your abilities. Remember fellas, nothing worth doing is easy, but don’t work yourself into a heart attack, know when to quit or skip to the cool down.

Refund policy is vary difficult.
I ordered a four-week program (which somehow added a subscription, which they canceled upon request), and quickly had buyer’s remorse after trying it a few days. I asked for a Refund, and they pointed me to their policy info, which requires proof of trying it for 14 consecutive days, and giving a valid reason. But there are two problems with this. First, they told me “No,” and “this answer is final,” even before I before I was 14 days into the program. Second, they refuse to tell me what constitutes a “valid reason.” They reject reasons of personal dislike, of financial situation changes, or even new professional medical advice (e.g., my recent MS flare-up). I have asked for clarification on what kind of reason they would accept, but they will not answer. Edit: finally, after I submitted proof of 14 workouts and gave a generic reason (e.g., did not produce visible results as advertised), they granted my refund. I increased the rating to 3 stars, because I do think the program will have value for some people. Just be warned that the Refund process is difficult.

Don’t waste your time
Let me begin by stating that I am a professional sports trainer, certified athletic trainer and sports medicine teacher. I like to check out and see which apps are they best for me to recommend to friends and family alike This app and they’re services in general are a joke. Many of the reviews left here are bot/fake reviews. They try to fool you with what seems to be an extensive survey which is little more than a ploy to get you into a false sense of care. Which they do not. If you do end purchasing a plan through them PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE BE AWARE that you will not be getting you’re money back. When your are unhappy and dissatisfied( unfortunately you will be) with the half hearted attempt they created here; they will give you email run around and give every reason to not refund. I looked up their refund policies and followed them to the T. However they stated it was out of their control and the best they could do was offer me more free months of their terrible service. You will not receive a refund and you will be out of your hard earned money. Put it towards something better for your health(better foods, gym membership, etc) DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

Great Coach; app needs work
Most importantly, I’m thrilled with the personal attention I receive from coach Chris P. Don’t be intimidated by his awesome build. He really cares, is very gentle and kind, responsive, and customizes my plan to match my goals…and I’m an enthusiastic senior citizen. MadMuscles is worth it for this feature alone. I cannot say enough about how Chris wants to AND effectively offers intelligent training programs. As a software developer, I have a bunch of suggestions to improve the app experience: 1) There needs to be a way for the coach and/or user to sync the nutrition and training suggestions with the app; 2) There needs to be a way to adjust preferences, goals, workout days, etc, after the initial signup; 3) Tracking progress, if even possible, must be available and easy; 4) It is difficult to understand the billing methodology when I chat with my coach. Overall MadMuscles is a good start that can be great with some obvious enhancements.

Si tienes impedimentos no te suscribas. If you have impediments, don't subscribe
I do not recommend it for some reasons, first is that if you have impediments do not download it, it is not for people with disabilities, second, they will never give you your money back, the information they give you is a lie, they lie in that part, they start looking for many excuses not to return the money, I downloaded the application and I subscribed and the next day I canceled and I asked them for a refund of the money and they denied it, they sell you food recipes that they never give you, and I inadvertently chose a meal believing that it was included and I do not include it, you have to buy it and it is not food it is a recipe, it is the biggest scam I have ever seen No la recomiendo por algunas razones, primero es que si tienes impedimentos no la bajes, no es para personas con discapacidades, segundo, nunca te van a devolver el dinero, es mentira la información que ellos te dan, ellos mienten en esa parte, te empiezan a buscar muchas excusas para no devolver el dinero, yo bajé la aplicación y me suscribí y al otro día cancele y les pedí devolución del dinero y me lo negaron, te venden recetas de comida que nunca te dan, y yo sin querer escogí una comida creyendo que venía incluida y no la incluyo, tienes que comprarla y no es comida es receta, es la estafa más grande que e visto

There to take your money
I downloaded the app for one day and tried it at the gym. I realized the app is better for at home workouts and I couldn’t really use it at the gym. So I deleted the account and asked for a refund. They didn’t refund me because you have to use the app for 2 weeks showing proof that it doesn’t work for you. However I think that the return policy should include those who have only had it for a couple days as well. For those who go to the gym you can tell pretty quickly if something will work for you, and that was my case. I could tell it wasn’t for me. That being said they said my reason is not good enough, so no refund. In addition to the refund policy. Every additional workout/diet challenge you want to do cost money. Your initial subscription gives you access to the basics but everything else costs money. I know it’s a business but it seems like they care way more about money than helping people reach their fitness goals. Worst workout program I’ve tried
I’ve been lifting weights seriously for over 10 years and played collegiate basketball. The last year I regressed on my workout frequency and essentially took a year off. I downloaded the app to add some variety to my workouts and have more of a goal orientated/structured workout to get back into things. After filling out all of the questions I was super excited until I opened the app and saw the entire plan i paid for was mostly home workout and very, very basic. It was not structured for the gym even though I made it pretty clear that I would be working out mostly in the gym and doing high intensity training with heavy weight. The workouts seemed short, easy, and really didn’t accomplish what I had in mind. When I went to check the refund policy i was mind blown at how complex it was to get a refund. I was required to take 14 days worth of videos to prove I was following the program before they would even consider giving me a refund…talk about false advertising of “money back guarantee if you’re not satisfied”. I strongly recommend finding a different and more reliable workout program

No considerations at all
I made the mistake of purchasing the online programs from Madmuscles, only to realize very quickly that I did not actually want them. Within a day, I contacted their customer support team to request a refund since it only took a look from me to realize it wasn't meant for me. However, Madmuscles flat out refused to process any refund for me. Their policy seems to be that all sales are completely final, even if the customer changes their mind immediately after purchasing. There is zero flexibility or understanding from this company. Despite my promptly expressing disinterest in the purchase I had just made by mistake, they did not care at all about making things right. Although Madmuscles has ok customer service and policies (since they at least responded a few days later), they are unwilling to accommodate reasonable refund requests from buyers who acted in good faith. I regret giving them my money, as their practices are extremely anti-consumer. Save your money and purchase other programs elsewhere from a company that actually values their customers. I cannot recommend avoiding Madmuscles at ALL.

Buyer Beware - Especially of Their In App Purchases
I was really excited about this app. So I gave it a try by purchasing a subscription at a reduced rate. I just happened to get two notices from my banking app notifying me of two Mad Muscle charges. After a little digging and submitting a refund request, I was told the second charge was a valid, since I agreed to buy an in app purchase. This essentially brought me to the normal subscription price cancelling out the supposed savings and to make things worse I was not aware I agreed to the purchase. I contacted the company within an hour and basically was told I could not have made a mistake in purchasing the add-on because they prompt the customer multiple times to ensure it is a valid purchase. Also, in order to get the money back guarantee you have to use the app 14 consecutive days and then prove to them the app did not “work” for you. Anyway, I gave up on getting my money back and will not use the app in fear I may accidentally make another in app purchase. They did offer me an additional three months free., but that is useless if I am not going to use the app.

I have paid for 3 months and it’s useless
I found mad muscles online and really liked the path it was leading me on when it came to the questionnaire. I’m about to start a new career but need to get in better shape. Everything looked great and liked how it would help with the meal preps and scheduled workouts and it just seemed personalized to my figure and what I wanted to achieve. So I paid for the 3 month subscription, then it took me to a page to download the app. I downloaded the app and it freezes on “select your language”. It has the continue on the bottom but it doesn’t do anything, it’s just frozen. I’ve forced the app closed, i have deleted and re downloaded the app, I have my phone updated to iOS 16.5, but the app will not go past that page. And customer support is on the app only. Im not a big fan at the moment because it feels like they stole money from misleading information to an app that doesn’t work at all. I wouldn’t download unless they specifically identify this bug in the app and fix it. I would like to still give it a chance, but do not download until this is addressed.

Another one of those subscription scams
The workouts, whatever. They’re fine. Not the point. Sign up for this and you’ll never see the “we will charge you forever and ever until you figure out how to make it stop” warning, but I’m sure it’s buried in the terms and conditions that no human on Earth has time to read through. I genuinely was led to believe I was signing up for 1 month trial. I stopped using it and then stumbled across it later only to discover it still showing me workouts. Hmm, I wonder. Oh yeah, still charging me and at a higher monthly rate than what I originally agreed to per month. It took me an hour or so to finally figure out how to cancel. Always so easy to sign up, never quite as easy to find the “cancel subscription” button. If you’re trying to cancel, Settings (gear in upper right hand corner) > Help > Subscription in the app. From there straight forward to cancel. Just another one of those apps/companies hoping to make money because people forget they would auto bill. What a joke.

Great basic concept. Needs fine tuning.
The workouts themselves are good. It’s nice to have an app that builds in intensity based on states current fitness level and goals. It may be because I’m still early with the program but it’s strange having exercises that only target large muscle groups and never small ones. There are also some exercises like bent over rows that show up in almost every workout which is weird and feels like a good way to over work a targeted area. That said, the ability to swap exercises makes it easy to avoid that concern for folks who at least have the exercise knowledge to pick appropriately. Things that could make the app better: -Targeted exercise swapping by Goal or muscle group. Literally any guidance since part of the selling point for the program is “good coaching”. -the ability to adjust the meal planning and time commitment. I entered commuting to 1hr of meal prep. I assumed that meant per week. The meal plan has me trying to do 30 min/ meal/ day for 3 meals and 2 snacks. That’s 2.5hrs a day for cooking. Just no. The fact that can’t be adjusted in a paid plan is not great. -the app needs to pair with fitness trackers. It currently doesn’t talk to any OS fitness app for activity and calorie tracking. That’s a big hole in the build that the majority of other fitness apps have. Right now the workouts are good for what I personally need. If these gaps are addressed, it would be an all around 5 star app.

Need way to track Weight used, reps, etc
Unless I am missing it and I looked in “Help” too I don’t see a way to track progress of weight lifted or reps. The standard for just about any fitness program is always tracking progress in sets, reps, weight. Other apps I’ve used always had a way to track and adjust reps, weight so they would use that for the next workout the app created. So I would still need a notebook or some other app to do that which seems to defeat the purpose of an app. Since reps may not be completed in all sets it would be nice to adjust them as needed for tracking and gauging improvement. I like the videos of exercises and so far the exercise selection I like. Seems to be a few glitches as sometimes I’m on like the 4th set and suddenly it goes back to set #2 like I haven’t completed it. I can click and check it off again but happened several times and not sure why. I’ll keep trying and see how it goes. Hopefully improvements will be done as updates occur.

Pay attention to your selections
I work in customer experience and UX in a highly regulated industry so maybe I am bias. But there are some areas of the app where you think you’ll need to confirm your selections and view your total before checking out. But no, with one click you’ve been charged. You can easily feel like you’re answering a questionnaire (I am interested in this product) and you are charged before you realize that was a purchase. From a UX, CX and digital marketing perspective there seems to be some shady or even unethical behavior, maybe even legal liabilities. But I work in a highly regulated industry so maybe I have a different perspective. Every little thing comes with a charge and when you try to cancel, the app will offer you months free and/or subscriptions at 1/4 of the price. I tried contacting support about some of the charges, because there wasn’t a statement explaining these charges available in the app. Via email is the only way to get help. They gave a very defensive answer that makes me think they get this criticism often.

Great app for stealing your cash
Make sure you cancel and get confirmation because you cannot get a refund or a warning that your account is getting charged. Never felt so scammed as I did with my trial at Mad Muscles. Run before you try. Mad Muscles is not happy to see this. They said to contact customer support but I’ve already done that and they informed me there’s no way to get a refund unless you cancel 24 hours before billing. So they charge you for 3 months and once they do the only thing you can do is cancel for the next 3 months. I’ve been through this nightmare twice so I’m expecting to do it again in June again. This time though I have a cancellation email to prove it to my bank. It’s scummy. What’s worse is the app is really difficult to use. Be careful with trials. That’s the $120 lesson for you all.

Refund
Unfortunately based on them not giving me a refund which was very much any understanding person would refund since I requested it immediately after the purchase went through. I didn’t even open the product! I mistakenly purchased and then unknowingly purchased an add on. So I sent email IMMEDIATELY after this happened stating I didn’t mean to purchase nor did I check the box for the additional pdf. Well Katherine and her team in billing said it didn’t fall under their rules or whatever. So I can’t in good faith recommend this app or company based on that. Especially since I IMMEDIATELY sent a request to cancel and explain like I didn’t even use or open the product. No stars based on the outcome. Thanks Katherine from billing, I work really hard for my money, glad you think it’s okay because of your guidelines n rules i to keep it and not offer a refund!!! Especially since it was IMMEDIATELY AFTER unopened product was attempted to return and accidentally purchased,. Bad business, karma will come back around

SCAM!
This is EXACTLY why I have made the decision I’ve made. I FIRMLY believe this is a COMPLETE scam in every meaning of the term! NO I don’t wish to have any more access to your company AT ALL! I d wish to have NO ties with your company by any means. I don’t trust you, I think you’re completely dishonest and I wouldn’t dare to run the risk of getting scammed for any more money than I already have. Please ensure that you do NOT give me anything more from this company even if you say it’s “free” because you have been completely dishonest! And tricked me into spending even more money. So unless you’re giving me money back I really don’t anything more to do with Mad Muscle the scammers at all. And as promised I will be sure to blast this on my Facebook, instagram and anything else I can think of so hopefully nobody else is scammed like I’ve been. I think all your “success stories” are paid actors and this company is a total joke! The worse thing I’ve ever done was trust this was legitimate company but trust and believe I’ve learned my lesson. Never again!

Good quality app but not quick to resolve billing issues
Over all I enjoyed the app and found it to be good at guiding and it’s easy to follow. I am a clinical exercise physiologist who works in both a weight management clinic and a pain clinic and I like to try out apps before I recommend them to my patients. This was an app I liked to recommend but since I missed the period to cancel (I understand that is my mistake and I had emailed regarding my mistake). They billed the account and I had explained to them what had happened (the day of the renewal) and after several emails I was denied a refund. I do understand that they are within their rights to deny the refund I just found it crazy that they were unwilling to work with me. It’s a good app. But just beware of the subscription end date. I gave them feedback that it would be beneficial to their customers to get an email about a week or two prior to the renewal to give the customer a chance to cancel if they desire.

App troubles
I like the program and the types of work outs provided what i do not like is how it says it’s extremely customizable to personalized performance yet when i put in my dietary likes/dislikes it still gave a loads of meals that i do not eat yes i can switch them out but i have to sort through loads of foods i do not like as well as the work outs i cannot pick the days in which i like to work out it chooses for you not only that but i have had the app for 7 days now and it crashes at least 4 times a day preventing me from checking work outs, meals or even recording my daily progress goals also if i do a different work out routine outside of the app it does not let me mark that day as completed anyway especially when it comes to the challenges if i forget to mark a day I can’t edit to mark 2 days done the next day it forces me to pretend i never did the day before…

Annoying to work with
I feel like they tried making it simple but actually over did it and made it complicated. You can’t leave the app or have your screen shut down or the timer in your workouts will stop as well which is annoying when you have to leave the app every now and then to change music, answer messages etc. I first noticed this at the beginning when they have you do a plank for as long as you can to make a profile for you. I played a song as soon as I started and when I stopped the song was at a little over 2 minutes, but since the screen went black it only ended up timing about 53 seconds. Now that I first used it, it had me run on the treadmill for 5 minutes and again since the screen went dark the timer stopped and I ended up running for 10 minutes instead of 5 because of the timer. I also put that I wanted a full gym workout and it only gave me workouts without any weights. I guess it’s small things but they get annoying

This App has helped me a great deal!
I have used this app for 2 months and it has been extremely helpful and as advertised! I have already lost more than 10 lbs and my shape is changing dramatically. Not only have the workouts helped but the diet plan has helped me find where my diet was falling short. There are hidden sugars in a few foods that was causing me big problems. Small changes by following the meal plan in addition to following the workouts has made substantial difference in just 2 months. I also have had wonderful support when I had questions. I highly recommend Mad Muscle to help get you on your fitness journey - this has helped me more than the many things I have tried over the past decade.

Scummy
I purchased 3 months of workouts on the website. After it charged me $30, it took me to a page to “pick your bonus” or something to that effect. It showed off a few different additional products they offer, like some kind of wrist band tracker, or some additional reading materials for health. There was no option to say “no thanks”, just a single button saying “confirm”. This made me think these things were either complimentary, or they just want me to know they are available if I desire them later. I hit confirm just to move on to setting up the app, then it immediately charged my card another $30 for a set of reading materials to help my sex drive and meal prep lol. I asked for a refund because I didn’t want any of that and they refused!!! I had to have Apple dispute the transaction for me, I just wanted the workout plan. Eventually I got a refund, but instead of for the additional materials I didn’t want, they revoked my workout access! What a bunch of losers.

Worst Customer Experience Ever
Don’t complete the survey. You will be charged additional fees at checkout. You will be charged for a meal plan, workout, coaching sessions, etc. Once you noticed the amount charged to credit card is much higher than advertised inside the app survey. The Help Center will not assist you with your refund even with a less than 24 hours download unless you are willing to submit a video of you using the app. Extortion!!! After receiving a response from the Support Team for Mad Muscle, they continued to denied a refund after less than 24 hours of installation the app. They will not provide a contact number to discuss the charges and refuse to provide a refund. Poor customer service, don’t waste your time with a company that treat customers like this! Even after I contacted the developer through Apple, Mad Muscle still refused to provide a refund. This company doesn’t respect customer experience and have shown to be a complete waste of time!

Felt like a scam.
So I have tried tons of different fitness apps to find the one that works the best for me. I decided to do the same with this app. The ig ads suggested that the nutrition, the personalize plans and much more would incredible. Through out the super guided start everything seems on brand but once I subscribe I discovered everything is an up charge. Talking to the trainer, the meal plans, some of the workouts, up charge. It’s like downloanding a free game on PlayStation (but this isn’t free) only to be hit with micro transaction after micro transaction. I should’ve known. Any fitness app without a trial period is a red flag. I immediately cancelled the subscription and reached out to Apple but Apple is refusing to give me my money back. So shrugs, I lost like 20 but I hope this honest review stops others from wasting their money and it costs you guys the money x100 over. Ladder and shred are my favorite new apps, for old school programs like the Arnold blue print body space app is a cool resource.

Terrible support team, steals your money
The company has minimal customer support. They have no support phone number, and the email support is there only to say sorry we took your money, but there is nothing we can do. Imagine you are making a purchase, put your payment information in, submit payment and then receive a notification from the mad muscle payment portal that it could not be processed. Would you then expect that you would be charged for every payment attempt that was stated to not have been processed? I’d at least assume the support department could correct the issue, especially when they advertise a money back guarantee. (There money back guarantee basically states so many exceptions that there isn’t one.) Not only will they steal your money when they charge you multiple times, but they’ll refuse to refund it. If my experience hasn’t been due to fraudulent activities, it is due to pure incompetence of the company and it’s support team.

Buggy. Not enough calories
An “assistant” bot gives you mediocre training and nutrition advice. I’ve had a lot of difficulty logging my workouts. Support doesn’t even have the same schedule that I do so they are having trouble helping me. You aren’t able to log the workouts without allowing example videos to play for the entirety of the 45 minutes routine. Even when you do it doesn’t always work. Also, there isn’t currently a way to change the number of workouts per day or week, it also isn’t apparent that you can make dietary changes like cutting out milk or sugar (unless you pay extra). A feature I would love to see is a daily nutrition profile. The meals’ nutrition values are meticulously listed but there’s no way to see how many calories, grams of protein or carbohydrates you are consuming in a given day. The app also offers to connect to the iPhone health app, but doesn’t track heart rate, muscle mass, body fat, sleep data, etc.

No refund, poor customer service
At my age and condition this program was too intense. I could not complete the workouts. Maybe 20-25 years ago I would be up for the challenge and feel safe doing so. u Unfortunately at my age, I am risking severe injury. As a result I immediately stopped using the app (no judgement please, after multiple surgeries I have learned my limits). Because I haven’t used the app in months, I simply forgot about it and any auto renewal that was associated until my card was charged. Shame on me, I get it. However the same day I was charged I requested a refund, stating my honest and transparent reasoning. My refund was denied so I requested an appeal. Here is the response I received: “ I am genuinely sorry to hear that you have such a bad impression of our services. Please kindly note that your refund request was rejected because your reason for a refund does fall under Personal reasons, and this reason is not covered by the Policy. Our team is always ready to do anything possible to keep your experience at the highest level. I re-escalated your refund request with our Billing Manager and was informed that the decision could not be changed after reconsideration. In case you have any other questions, please let me know.” My final question - what will it take to get my money back for a service I refuse to use and a company that I refuse to be a customer of?

Big scam
Saw an add for this app and clicked on it. It was advertised and presented as an option to purchase a one week, one month, or three month one time purchase. Less than 12 hours later I decided that I was not up for the commitment of working out so I went looking for anything regarding a refund. It was at this moment and not at any time before that a subscription was mentioned. I would not have made the initial purchase had I known it was a subscription with auto renewal. After about 30 minutes of hoop jumping I was able to cancel the renewing subscription. The refund process was much worse. After several days of providing no less than 3 individuals the same details for why I wanted to get a refund I was told they don’t issue refunds but would give me 3 months additional subscription at no charge. If I didn’t have the commitment to do the initial 3 months why on earth would I want another 3 months.

WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME
ZERO STARS!!!! Don’t waste your time or money of this crap of an app. They don’t make it easy to navigate or use. Total crap for workout programs. You can easily find the same simple information on any site. Just Google “Workout programs” they will be Free and easy to access. This site’s customer service is useless and rude and not helpful at all. Takes your money for no reason and won’t help with refund if mistakenly set up even when you deactivate the subscription within 12 hrs. They steal the $40 from you regardless of your usage or terms. They must be that broke that they need the $40 to keep the Useless company afloat. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. No one should sign up. Be weary of this site/app it’s not what you think. You can simply do it all your self without the hassle of the app and the hoops you have to jump through. WASTE OF MONEY WASTE OF TIME WASTE OF STORAGE SPACE ON YOUR PHONE DONT USE DONT DOWNLOAD DONT SIGN UP FOR ANY SUBSCRIPTION DONT DO IT.
