Keeps me motivated! Only thing that works for me!
I love the rewards. They seem silly for an adult, but I get so bored and these keep it more stimulating. Plus, you get rewarded for healthy habits even if you haven’t lost weight. Entering products/calories is also easy, so I’m more likely to keep up with it. Before I restored, I had an older version of the app that offered the slim down avatar and the weight chart for free - those were both super motivating as well! I’m debating upgrading to pro just so I can get those features back. The quotes and panic button were also super helpful to me in the beginning when I was struggling to break habits and cravings. LOVE it! It’s the only app that works for me because it doesn’t get boring. If anything, more options for clothes (or replacing some of the clothes with more trendy versions) would be my main request. I plateaued and regained weight after a super successful year (now I’m successfully restarting)... part of it was the plateau, but I also think part of it was because I’d chosen all of the clothes/accessories I liked and wanted, so I became disengaged. Awesome for short term/teaching goals, but I would LOVE features to make it an app I can use for years, and something to keep me more engaged after I reach my goals would’ve been awesome to keep me from regaining the 40 lbs I lost using the app.

Most effective with no diet restrictions
I was not overweight but wanted to loose a little bit of weight to fit better in my clothes. This app helped me lose 30 pounds without having to deprive myself of any specific food group. I entered my present weight, my goal and it calculated the healthy amount of weight for me to lose each week. All I had to do was log in what I had each meal. It gives you an option to take a picture of your meal, in case you don’t have time to log it right away. It has a huge database of foods already stored, so it’s easy to pull that information. It also gives you the macros for each meal or item. For me, it was a huge wake up call. I was completely off in my portions and the app told me the truth about the calories I was consuming. The best is that I can have a piece of cake if I monitor closely what I have the rest of the day. If you’re serious about losing weight and keeping it off (which is the hardest part), this app will be invaluable. Make it a part of your daily routine and in time you’ll do it with your eyes closed. Don’t go for fad diets that deprive you of a whole food group. It’s unsustainable, unhealthy, and ineffective. I give this app five stars. As a bonus, my kids love playing dress up with the doll. Highly recommended!

Get the Pro Version!
I love that this app is so customizable - you can add your own pictures for motivation, make your avatar look like yourself, create unique challenges, and scan the barcodes of food items to instantly upload their nutrition information. I would highly recommend getting the pro version in order to take advantage of all the features. This app also includes a game-like leveling system in which you earn points for sticking with it. I like this system a lot, but there is one thing I would change about it: the fashion items. As you earn points, the game gives you clothing items to put on your avatar, but these clothing items are generated randomly and most of them don't fit the avatar well at all. I'm trying to lose weight - I don't want to plaster my ideal self with ill fitting clothes that make her look bigger than she is! I wish that the fashion items actually fit the avatar, and I wish that I could see a list of items to buy and save up my points to get the things I really want. Sometimes that would be all the motivation I would need to do a few extra squats or drink a little bit more water. Other than that, this app is a wonderful tool that has already helped me lose weight and be more mindful of myself.

First of all I always enjoy a good time amount on a free trial band then I would like to state I am in need to gain weight and not a lot of apps recognize that people also use these apps to gain weight so that fact that this one does makes me fall in love with the fact that it actually meets my needs another reason I love this app is the recipe options I mean over 300 recipes and it’s categorized by which meal time also the way it charts your daily overview is simple enough to understand unlike other apps it allows you to see the amount of protein needed and and the amount you had (along with other important daily nutrients) you can choose for them to make you a workout routine if needed and the food logging is great you add or scan or search for what you have eaten for the meal or snack an post or if you made a meal you can type I. Individual item like condiments I will be truly sad when the trial is over I hope it leaves alot left to use because I would love to keep this app unfortunately to many apps trial ending means not many options to use in order to make the storage space used worth it

Can’t set own goal date
I love this app. It has so many great and helpful features. You can log and track all your food intake. If you can scan it, the app knows exactly how many calories, carbs, etc are in it. And it tracks it all for you. You can log your water intake, pair it with your fitness app or log in your exercise yourself. Personally I love that it syncs with the fitness app cause not only does it track my exercise but it includes all the calories burned that my watch tracked through out the day. You can log your daily weight and see your progress throughout the time you’ve used the app. And best of all it’s free! The ONLY thing that bugs me is that I can’t set my own goal date. No matter what kind of diet I chose it only allows my date to be two years from now. It shows that it’s -.74 lbs a week. NEGATIVE .74lbs a week! How could it be negative? My goal is to lose 50 lbs and if you can lose 1-2 lbs a week that should be 6months to a years worth of work, not 2 years. And no matter what I can’t change that date. The length changes slightly with the amount you want to lose but I put in 10lbs as my goal and it had my goal date over a year from that point. Other than that I would of given this 5 stars because it is a really good tool.

Revised review
I’m revising my review because of poor customer support. For several months at several times I have tried contacting customer service. I receive a confirmation text that they received my text but nothing further to help resolve my issue. I tried the apps suggestions for no longer receiving notifications. None of the suggestions worked. The notifications for me was a big help in my weight loss journey. Without the notifications it put me in charge of searching for motivation vehement the notifications worked the program would notify me at the times I had requested. Without the notifications there is no reason to pay for the app. It was a combination of a lot of good motivational features that kept me using it for 424 days. I’m very sad to go but I’m only occasionally using the app without the notifications. I’m leaving my old review so that you can see the great features it has if they would fix there lack of customer support. ——-here is my old review——-Best app I’ve used for motivation. It has lots of different ways to be motivated plus reminders so you don’t forget your promises to yourself. Definitely try it. You won’t regret it. The only thing I’m not crazy about is that it doesn’t sinc with weight watchers. I’m a weight watchers member so in order to see patterns in eating and the emotional note I made in this app I need to input my food twice or toggle between the two apps. Even with this the app is still fantastic!!!

Good but needs work- updated
Update two: definitely wasn't worth paying for the upgrade. Immediately regretted it and hit cancel but it will not refund your money. Since then I have downloaded other apps and even deleted this one. "Lose it!" is so much easier to use and works properly without having to spend five bucks a month or $20 a year. They do have premium options available, but what they do provide is good enough that I don't feel the need. UPDATE: I spent the five bucks to try it on premium for one month. I can see that all of the problems I had with the free version are solved by paying for the premium version. However, I really don't think even if the app is extremely good, that I want to be paying $30 a year (or $60 a year if you go month by month for an app.) If u quick add a food, the calories register, but the nutritional info doesn't. So, when you check your nutritional summary for the day, it is way off. Also, i can't find any place to track water other than my water challenge. If I choose a different challenge, I don't know how I'll track water. Finally, if you logged a food eaten and forgot to classify that food as a meal or give it a name before you push done, it won't let you go back in to add it as a meal or give it a name.

Good but strange.
There's a lot good in it. Definitely love the app and what it has to offer. But sometimes when you insert food or even scan the items, the calories are off. For example I scanned a bag that said 4 pieces were 160. But the app said 4 pieces are 155 or other times it will say different in the idea of 4 pieces and 160. But the app will say 5 pieces are 160. It's a bit weird. The other thing that throws me off is that the exercise kinda adds to calorie. So let's say 2000. You exercise to burn 200 calories. And it will add to 2200 on the app. Which is fine but if you're watching calorie intake I'd suggest not adding in the exercise. Just do the exercises but do not add to the app and continue watching the natural calorie intake your app tells you. I could be wrong for suggesting that. But I felt more change and result doing the latter. One last thing though, the app is pretty great. I like the idea and how diverse you can find a lot of the meals or food, even if you're at a restaurant you can type it! Example being things like red lobster! Or to be more accurate cheddar biscuits red lobster. And when you scan or insert something that doesn't add to the calorie intake that it says on (let's say a bag or menu), you can always change it. It doesn't force it upon you as if you'd be wrong.

I am absolutely loving this app! i have tried a few before and never seem to stick with it, this app brings out my competitive nature with the rewards for my progress. It helps me see my progress with both the slimming down avatar and the ability to take real photos and store them on the app where no one but me will see them! I have been on this for a week so far and have lost 4.6 pounds, which is hard to do for me because I have 2 kids and I haven’t been able to lose a pound! I am also eating healthier because of this app, the panic button is great and it has helped me with my water intake like nothing before! I hate water but now i drink my full 8 cups a day with water flavor no problem!! I also do a cup of green tea and 1tbs of vinegar in the morning which is helping take away my fat for anyone who is interested! The only downfalls i have seen to this app if that the clothes i do not like to well for my avatar and the avatar of me now, i try to set it to the way my body is then the next day it jumps back to what it was. besides that this app is the best thing to happen to me when it comes to weight loss!!

Loving this app!
This app is very user friendly, and so much fun! I don't normally spend money on apps, but I decided to buy the 1 year subscription and honestly, it keeps me even more accountable to follow my diet and exercise, because after all, I paid for it, I better use it! I love that I can setup reminders and earn points and fashion rewards when I accomplish a task or complete a challenge. Everything on this app is so pleasing to the eye. From the colors, to the avatar, to the little icons you press to complete a task. I like watching the glass of water empty when I complete a water challenge and I like watching the tiny icon doing situps or pushups when I complete a task. Just little things like that are fun, enjoyable to watch, and satisfying! I love that the panic button is readily accessible right on the main screen when you open the app. The tips and daily motivational quotes are useful and I like that I can add motivational photos of myself to remind me why I am working to improve myself! I am having a lot of fun with this app and I would recommend it.

Are they joking?!
This new update is absolutely nothing like the old app. It’s now like every other calorie counter app on the planet. I lost 25 lbs with the previous version! I loved the avatar (more than I ever thought I would!), earning rewards, setting motivational reminders, and doing the challenges. Also, you used to be able to set how many cals you wanted to consume in a day. The new version sets your calorie limit. I’ve had to say I’m 4’5 - I’m 5’9 - to have the new version show me 1550 cals which is still more than I want to consume right now. I’m super disappointed with this new update and wish they would have just changed a couple things in the previous version - not earning as many reward points so it’s more challenging, adding more food to their database, updating the clothes, and allowing you to change your motivational quote that shows on the home page. This new version is 100% different. I feel sad bc I haven’t used the app in a week, and I’ve already gained a couple of pounds. Sigh…. Also, I emailed them twice about two separate issues several months ago, and I still haven’t received anything back. LOL. They obviously don’t listen to their customers or care much about them. This version has to go. I won’t renew or use the app again. So disappointed!

Good App.
I would recommend this app!! It’s super nice, and really helpful to keep on track! Only thing I dislike is that it doesn’t really give you vegetarian or vegan options and stuff like that. But it does get it the point of stuff around that!! Other than that I think this is a good app!! ❤️❤️ I just recently stopped being vegetarian. But I still think they should add more options for that stuff. I got this app to make sure I don’t loose to much weight and it’s been great! Although I wish there was like some sort of daily fun log. Because I rarely every really use the app. But it’s a great app in general! Especially if you are doing a diet of some sort. Also I really recommend being vegetarian because 1. You can loose more weigh than you think 2. It’s hard at first but it gets easier 3. Fake meat isn’t all bad! It just took me a while to find the brands for me! 4. It’s easier with friends!! All in all this app is really great!

Move along if you aren’t a girl or have a different schedule
Each person is different. Different needs. Different schedules. Etc. this doesn’t allow any of that. First of all the avatar can ONLY be customized for females. I dunno, that tells me that if you aren’t a girl they don’t think you should care about yourself. Heck you can’t even set how the weight and body looks, let along clothes options. And that right there would drop it t two stars. Just cause I’m not a girl doesn’t mean I don’t need help loosing weight. Plus I might have the dietary needs of one gender but I don’t want that avatar. It’s supposed to be motivational. Instead it makes me unmotivated. Secondly and this is even bigger. NOT EVERYONE SLEEPS AT NIGHT!!!! There is no reason that it can’t let you choose when to restart the day when it comes to daily goals. Heck even my sleep app can figure it out. Why can’t this? I work overnights. A LOT of people do nowadays. What, are we not allowed to be healthy? No it is NOT a new day for me, don’t reset my dang challenges and calorie sheet. That would drop this negative stars if I could. Simply cause the two of these issues drop this from a competent app that would be nice to use and keep track of things to a piece of garbage that’s no better than a notebook and a pen.

It is pretty, but glitchy and Fitbit does not sync
I love the aesthetics of this app. It is fun to play with, and very rewarding for the visually motivated. One star for that. I was impressed with customer service- they got back to me multiple times to solve my problem, and even did follow up. One star for that. So, here is where it is falling short: FitBit does not sync (does not track my steps or my exercise), there are many programming glitches (mainly with reminders that I can see), and the app does not sync reliably across devices. A few examples: recipes created on one device remain local to that device, some avatar rewards are localized (petty, I know, but still), motivational photos are localized- kind of defeats the purpose of multi-device sync. This is the FIRST AND ONLY app that I have ever paid a subscription for, and I did it precisely for the features that DO NOT work. I’d love for this app to work as described. The idea, format, and rewards ideology are exactly the kind of motivation that I respond well to, and I give props to the developers for what they have created thus far- however I think they were premature to offer this as a premium app- it should still be in the testing phase.

Amazing & Innovative App. Premium version is WORTH IT!!!
This app is super easy to use and is very helpful with motivation, accountability, tracking and consistency. It’s a very fun app to use and being able to dress your avatar everyday while earning new clothes and accessories for beating challenges is surprisingly engaging! This is the most unique weight loss app and I find myself excited to open it multiple times a day. It gives me the opportunity to log ALL my diet & exercise related info and to serves as a great “one stop shop”. Other apps either lacked or had limited options for logging meals but My Diet Coach has a food diary as well as a barcode scanner that can be quickly used at the grocery store. I plan to share another update in a couple of months but using this app in addition to intermittently fasting until 5pm has effectively been helping me lose at least 1 pound a day :)

I don’t like the new version
I loved the version that used the achievements because it helped me work towards something. This new version took away everything I liked about the old version of the app, and made it boring just like any other food dairy, AND also made it more difficult because now the barcode scanner doesn’t work, and won’t recognize anything you scan. I don’t have time to input individual nutrition facts for everything each meal, but I’m forced to to make sure that everything is accurate. I spend more time doing that then actually eating anything now. I also hate that that most things are in grams. The other version had more ways to input how much of something you were eating, and with this version, it’s hit or miss on weather or not it’ll tell you the serving size, and if it does, it flashes really quickly on the search page, but does show you what it is on the input food page, and it’s very easy to forget. I paid for the full version before they changed it so I’m going to use it, but I’ll definitely be looking for something else afterwards.

A simple and effective tool for mindful eating
I am using the free version to help guide my habits. I like the simple and clear-cut format, the graphics are aesthetically pleasant, and the layout is easy to navigate. As a general daily tracker and accountability assistant, this has been incredibly helpful. If you're looking for very specific calorie counts or exercise monitoring, the free version might not have all the options you're looking for - the ability to review past entries or plan future meals comes with the paid subscription, as do the graphs and charts that track overall progress. The exercise entry options are a bit limited, as well, but I've been able to find enough parallels to fairly reflect my calorie burn. If you want all the bells and whistles, this might not be your jam, but as a basic, easy to use motivator and guide, I give it two thumbs up.

Used to love this unique app
I spent a lot of time choosing a weight loss app 2 years ago. I chose this one because it was so unique and kind of fun. I loved the panic button and being able to click a certain topic to read through help for particular challenges. I loved seeing my avatar get smaller and dressing my avatar. I also liked seeing the chart of my numbers slowly moving down. Now it is exactly like all the other apps. No fun at all. The change happened just when my annual subscription renewed - so I am definitely going to try to get a refund. My guess is that the change happened because the shrinking avatars could have been perceived as “body shaming” but if I choose that as a motivation - it’s my choice to want to see my body get smaller- not something someone else was forcing on me. This new app doesn’t offer anything I couldn’t get for free on other apps. Hopefully I can find another one that has some silliness and fun because diet coach just removed all the fun and personality from the app. Too bad - it was fun to use something creative. Thankfully I did save my data.

Amazing!!!!
I love this app!!! It’s super easy to make h goals and stick to them. I’ve uploaded pics of myself to help motivate me and the app even shows a timeline of my achievements. This app also has a lot of useful reminders such as recording meals and breaking down calorie consumption. One of the best reminders on this app is the water recorder and reminder (with pro version) and my water consumption has gone from almost none to 10 8oz daily!!! I get alerts several times a day to keep my long term goal for losing weight in the front of my mind instead of forgetting about my weight loss which makes me easily slip back into old habits which has always been my down fall. The interaction I have with this app ever all times a day plus the bonuses I receive for my personal avatar make it super easy to stay on goal and the right track on becoming healthy again!!!

Customer service is poor
I got this app in May 2023. I love it. It helped me lose 13 lbs. I like everything about it. Lots listed in their food database, so finding foods is easy. The app has great tracking of calories, exercise, weight, etc. 3 weeks ago my account suddenly wasn’t there. Breakfast it was there, by lunch I was being asked to get started creating an account, but I already have one. I have emailed them multiple times each week asking about fixing this. I get a response that they are looking into it. I bought the year subscription, that renews May 2024. So far I’m not going to get a year’s subscription because I haven’t been able to use the app for 3 weeks. I have 2 stars for this reason. I’m wondering if they care about subscribers, they have my money so check me off. I feel they should let me know what’s going on (beyond we will have our tech team look at this, it will take some time) and correct this issue. I’m very disappointed. I’ll report again when/if this gets fixed.

Motivational app with great features
I am mostly happy with MyDietCoach as a weight-loss app. It has lots of helpful features and motivational aspects to it. The graphics and cute animations are fantastic and it’s clear the developers know what it takes to help keep people on the right path. I love the idea of a “panic button” and the opportunity to load our own motivational photos and images. I appreciate how the app works to develop habits needed to succeed. The ease of entering foods and nutritional info just once is also really well done. I wish the exercise section allowed for us to enter STEPS and not just minutes walked - because my Fitbit does steps. And the only downside so far to the app - which maybe I just haven’t figured out - is syncing my Fitbit to the app so that it auto tracks my exercise. The app says the devices are synced. But they aren’t working together. So I’m not able to easily figure out within the app what additional calories I’ve burned and can therefore consume. I did reach out to support, and I was provided ideas for getting the FitBit and app to function together, but the ideas so far haven’t worked. (And I can’t figure out where that message was sent, so I’m having trouble retrieving it again). It would be very helpful if this issue was added as part of the troubleshooting section. If my FitBit worked with the app seamlessly, this would be 5 Stars for me.

App only partially works with new Iphone update
I am a premium customer who has been using this app for over a year and loved it! Previously gave it five stars and found it much more enjoyable to use than the WW app. It is certainly a fun way to track your weight loss and daily track your calories. Unfortunately no matter what I do this app will no longer work with the latest iPhone updates. I contacted the developer and it’s been over a week with no word yet on what the problem is but the app continually tells me that it is not connected to the Internet (I am connected to the Internet and every other app on my phone works) therefore I’m unable to do anything with the avatar and none of the awards show up. I love the app and I was so desperate to get it working again that I deleted it but unfortunately of course that deleted all of my clothes and reset everything which would have been OK if it would’ve actually made the app work again but it did not. Very disappointed that all the fun stuff doesn’t work anymore.

I’m motivated somehow
I am someone who procrastinates everything; especially losing weight/eating healthy. The app actually helps me lose it - and helps me enjoy the process, because of the ‘awards’ you get…which now that I’m saying that it sounds quite childish, but it makes me want to progress further into the journey. I also like how it’s almost like a diary(I don’t use a diary but still) - you can put in not just what you ate, but also simple habits to keep you healthy, which for me keeps it more of a journey rather than just a “here is what you have to do to lose weight, do it” kind of structure. The database of foods when selecting what you ate is quite helpful too. Obviously, theres probably a lot more things, but not that I can think of. I am still debating whether I should get pro or not though.

My diet coach
This app has a lot of features I like - lots of motivational push notifications, great place to keep all sorts of weight loss data, and even a panic button and lots of motivation for when you are struggling with lots of different “traps” and cravings. Lots of ways to customize. The down side is that it does seem made for teenagers or maybe younger - the possibly biggest motivator, earning points by checking in, completing self-made challenges, etc only earn you virtual clothes for an avatar. Hardly motivating for anyone, let alone an adult. I would much rather be able to choose my “rewards” after earning a certain amount of points - the app could suggest some ideas or you could make your own. I would also love to have a picture of my actual body instead of an avatar - to watch it “shrink” would be really cool (even if it was just theoretical, obviously everyone loses weight differently).

Great App - Awful Clothes
I love a great food diary app, and this one has to be one of my favorites! It’s very inspirational and it does its job fairly well. I really enjoy the idea of having an avatar that loses weight as I do, but I find myself agreeing with many of the other reviews on here... The clothes you receive for your avatar as a reward for logging food, overcoming cravings, etc. are awful! Most of them are baggy, outdated, and don’t fit the avatar at all. To the developers — I think it would be much better if the system gave you a whole outfit (that you still have the option to mix and match) as you level up, with the outfit actually fitting the avatar with a more modern look. It might also be nice to give users the opportunity to pick their own style (minimalist, comfy, bohemian, hip, etc.), and provide clothes that match their style! In the end, it’s a great app with a lot of useful tools, especially that panic button.

Can’t do without
There’s a place where you wish you were and you’re working hard to get to it. In the meanwhile however, this app is excellent to have and use daily for motivation, the look and feel of that wonderful future and to keep up and ensure you’re on track. Idk about you, but for me, it helps it’s my self confidence. I dress Jessica Sasha up, my alter ego, with the state of mind that’s me in the hopefully not so far future. Sure it only shows us the outside, as in clothing but I do think of how my agility will increase, my energy and my perspective on life with all the positive changes. So yes I rate this app 5 stars and I think it helps you catch a glimpse of what your future could look like helping your journey along the way. Who said the walk has to be all pain for gain? You can have a little fun and enjoyment while in the process. This is mine. Lol

Just started using the app, but
I see a huge difference between this app and others. The concept seems so simple, yet most apps miss it. This app reminds you not only if your goal, but WHY you want to achieve your goal. Linking the goal with purpose was genius. This one little aspect made a huge difference for me. Most of the time I get annoyed when apps send me notifications because they're pointless and unhelpful to me so I turn them off, but not with this app. The notification reminder of my goal and purpose makes me feel motivated. It's seriously simple, but effective. I've had the app for a week and have lost almost 3 lbs just by being more mindful. I haven't logged into the app for a week...the mindfulness is coming just from those goal/purpose reminders. Imagine what will happen when I start fully using the app!

Great Food Database & Fashion Rewards
I’ve tried meal tracking programs before but I always get tired of entering my food after about a week. This program has a very extensive food database, so I’ve been able to easily find the foods I eat using the search tool. It’s also easy to create meals and copy them to another day. It also works with my Apple Watch and records my exercise calories and then adjusts my calorie limit so I can eat more calories for the day if I’ve done more of exercise. I’ve been using this program for a couple weeks and I am getting tired of entering my meals, but the program has kept me interested because it has a fun game aspect where you win rewards for completing challenges. I can earn points by completing different challenges that I can change each day such as doing sit ups or squats etc. The rewards are clothing items to dress my avatar. This makes a fun fashion game each day where I can play around with different looks for my avatar. I’ve been using the free version and have found it very enjoyable but if you purchase the pro version you would get the weight tracking feature and other cool features. This is definitely been the best meal tracking program I found and I highly recommend it!

Good and Safe Weight Management App with a few issues
Overall, so far I’ve had a great experience with this app so far. It’s inclusive, accessible, and is an app that doesn’t promote unsafe and unhealthy diet approaches unlike other diet apps that encourage unsafe eating and diet habits. It’s easy to track macronutrients, exercise throughout the day, and water intake. With this, I will say that I’ve run into two issues so far with this app. First, the barcode scanner when inputting a meal doesn’t work! Both the camera to scan the barcode as well as inputting the barcode numbers manually doesn’t work and comes up with an error message. I hope to see this fixed, because it would be really convenient to have it. Secondly, this app isn’t friendly for those who want to do a calorie deficit diet. The app computes exercise time in a day to your calorie count, and adds more calories when more exercise is detected which isn’t helpful for calorie deficit. Like I said earlier, this app is really good at making sure weight loss tracking is safe and healthy and making sure your numbers tracked (calories) are at a healthy point in line with your current weight and weight goals. However, I feel like it is a little bit too restrictive again for those who are calorie deficit.

Fun and Motivating
I love dressing my avatar every morning, this app is so easy to use. I like it so much that I have to discipline myself not be on it all the time. Things I like about this app are the quick add button that keeps track of your most popular food items, scanner to add food to your diary, exercise that you can either add or not add to your food diary (this means that when you workout it adds calories to your daily calorie count), tips on everything (food cravings, exercise laziness, slip-ups), reminders of your goals, daily motivational quote...and my all time favorite earning clothes, jewelry, hats, shoes, and glasses to dress up my avatar...I only dress her once a day to give myself something to look forward to the next day... until I earn some pjs 😂 mind you this is the standard version of the app!

Bring back the colorful older version with Avatar
I used to love this app. I would log in faithfully. It was so easy to use, colorful and I loved when you lost weight your avatar slimmed down as well. I updated a few years ago and didn’t even realize that this was the same app. I kept looking for the old logo till it hit me…. They changed everything. The avatar made this app unique but now it boring and plain. I don’t know what possessed them to do that. It sad because the app helped me track weight loss of 127lbs. I even put my photos of my progress. My start weight, log in of what I ate, all those were lost with the update. Unfortunately I gained COVID weight 30lbs and wanted to use the app again. I’m deleting this app & checking periodically if they change it back to the old version with enhanced updates. This app used to hold 5 stars for me. I didn’t even want to give it 1 star. It is sooo boring and limited. Developers what possessed you to change a good thing? If it’s not broke don’t fix it!!!

Go Pro!
I rarely write reviews - maybe 3 in my entire life but this app is worth it! Stop looking for other apps and just download My Diet Coach NOW! Once in, don't question upgrading, just do it! Trust me, you will want to so just go ahead and do it before you even start setting things up. If you are a visual person or a competitive person, this app is for you! Being able to customize your avatar and watch them slim down as you go is so motivating. Being able to add in your own pictures, earn clothes for your avatar foraging healthy choices, track your loss on a chart, take photos of your meals, set up as many reminders and motivations as you need and So much more all make this app perfect! I have deleted every other app because this is the only one I need. 5 stars all the way!!

Nice idea with very poor execution
This is a very creative and fun idea but the app just does not function well at all. When it comes to keeping your activity stats up to date, there is no way to manually sync anything so burned calories and steps are never correct which makes it impossible to monitor them through out the day. I have had this app for a week and it has not had my correct stats for even one of those days. My apple watch will say that have burned 300 calories and this app will say only 42... not even close and no matter how many times I refresh the app it will not update which makes this app useless. Also its way to easy to collect points. Im not gonna be motivated to complete my goals if I can earn points and rewards and level up just from simply opening the app and doing nothing else. Its frustrating how poorly executed this app is when it comes to use and functionality.

Opened my eyes and feel in control
So helpful to become aware of the calories and made it abundantly clear why I am 50 lbs overweight. I used to have unlimited Impossible burgers fried in 2+ Tbsp coconut oil. I also used to just shake on the cacao chips or freely “drizzle” the maple syrup with the mentality that as long as it was vegan I would be fine. I am now eating according to a weight loss calculator, about 1000 calories less than I would need to maintain my current weight. I now see logging food as a gift and using my power instead of having rules. Vegan tip of the day: 2 peeled frozen bananas, 1 Tbsp. Cacao powder and 1 tsp. (Or 2) cacao chips. All available at Trader Joe’s. Put in a food processor or blender with just a little bit of water. Chocolate ice cream 2 times a day! Yeah! All the best everyone!

I like this app!
This is a good app for counting calories and motivation. I know it’s silly, but I like how you can earn the rewards of putting clothes on your avatar. I make it a specific point every day to dress myself in a cute outfit for my avatar… It’s a good motivator for me in losing weight. I’ve tried so many different apps and had limited success. This one may be science based, but there is not a lot of science in your face...which doesn’t bother me. I like the panic button! You use that when you have a really big craving… You take a picture of the food that you are craving, you set a timer for 20 minutes, and if you conquer the craving, you get a little trophy. Silly? Maybe. Motivating? Yes! I like that I can count my calories, see motivational tips, set reminders… Very helpful!

Great motivation to track
They say that people who track their calorie intake and exercise are much more likely to lose weight. I agree 100%! I used to do Weight Watchers, but they had so many errors in their app, their customer service was so terrible, and there was little motivation. I have been doing My Diet Coach for a little over a 2 weeks now and I really enjoy it. It sounds silly that you are motivated to dress your avatar in fun clothes you would like to wear when you get to your goal, but it’s fun! I would give the app 5 stars, but it keeps giving me repeated clothes recently (in the past few days) as rewards and that is disappointment also it reads data from my Health app instead of from my actual Apple Watch and the info is not always as accurate. If they could fix one or both this would be a 5 star app!

Helps you keep track !
I’ve use this app twice before once during and after my third Pregnancy and now two years after my fourth. I love this app, it keeps track of everything. You can set alert to drink water, eat more veggies, go on a walk... etc... also keeps track of weight loss, meals, exercise. You can put pictures that motivate you. It also gives great motivational quotes so if you feel like eating something you shouldn’t or not exercising you can go on there and read them and remind you why your on this journey. It’s a great app. Helped me lose all 50 pounds last time and this is day 4 and I lost 1.4 pounds so far with gaining muscle! 😀 It’s like a personal couch for free. I use the free version but you can buy the app and get even more! 💯

App rating
Love this app! It’s great to keep up with food you eat during the day. Has pretty much every food on there so you don’t have to figure out how many calories it is yourself. Love how it pops up a reminder on my phone! To eat healthy, stay on track and keep up with my goals. I’ve had it on my phone for almost a month and lost 9.0 pounds in 22 days. Which I think is great bc I’ve been in a plateau for a while and haven’t been able to stay on track. It showing me my goals daily helps a lot! Also has where you can add pictures of your goals on there ! I have a pic of my beautiful sister and a bikini I want to be able to get in also a picture of my son and boyfriend bc I’m not just doing it for me but them also. This app is ready great!

Love it!!❤️❤️❤️
I love diet coach and how it has a game like system to help you feel more motivated! I like that you can get points for completing challenges and doing an activity. The clothing and accessories you get for working hard and earning points is also sooo motivating. It is one of the most motivational diet apps I’ve ever used! I love almost everything about it, but I wish that you could see how many points you have and get to browse through all the clothing and accessories. That would allow you to choose what you want and you could save up points to buy what you want. I feel like adding this feature would be super duper motivational, helpful, and improve the app to be even better!!😊

Lifetime features keep disappearing
Last Update: I’m disappointed with the app providers. I supported them during development stages by buying a lifetime subscription. Initially, that included everything. This summer (2020) that stopped and the premium features no longer work. I just deleted the app and reinstalled it in the hopes that the features would be restored. I lost everything including clothing rewards and stored data. What was once my favorite app no longer serves any purpose. No visible efforts have been made to restore my “lifetime subscription.” Another Update - I’ve been doing this a lot lately because I keep losing the perks I paid for as a lifetime member. They’re not restoring today and the app once again wants me to buy a premium membership. It’s annoying, frustrating, and taking away my wish to use this app. Please find a permanent fix to this problem. Next day, still not restoring A week later, restore purchase still doesn’t restore the perks. Also, still no response from app developers. I am not happy. Lesson learned: Don’t financially support apps still in development; lifetime subscriptions are temporary not lifetime (this makes me angry). ............. This is my favorite tracking app. It includes everything I need, plus fun clothing rewards for my avatar. I like that it sends me notifications that remind me of my goals as well.

Great ideas. Could be better.
I love the fun and unique features of this app. It keeps dieting fun and lighthearted. HOWEVER- the calorie tracker is lousy. It’s not well designed or easy to use (unlike the lose it app) it’s overly complex. Also, getting “a new outfit” every time the app opens gets old. It would be nice if the achievements were more interesting and hard won. Ultimately however, I like the avatar, and I have used the panic/motivation feature on numerous occasions. They are strangely helpful psychologically- an aspect that I think many diet programs are lacking. In short, this app misses on some basics, but overall I continually use it because of the positivity and accountability it provides. I wish they could combine “lose it” with “my diet coach” and the world would be a perfect place.

Lifer no longer
Update: Filter the reviews by MOST RECENT, you will see how many people are upset about the complete revamp of this app. It’s too bad they changed the entire concept. I have literally had this app from its infancy. I paid for a lifetime membership once offered and have been actively using it for YEARS (at least 6 years!). The new version is very, very disappointing. Who would have thought a woman in her 40’s would like an avatar, but I did. It was very rewarding to dress my virtual paper doll. I have zero desire to use the new version. What’s the point? How does it stand out from every other boring app? How does it reward and entertain me? No chance of me getting any return of my lifetime membership money. Reading the other recent reviews it is evident I’m not the only one that feels this way. If at all possible, I’ll bet people would take the old version back with no hard feelings.

A few suggestions
The reason I only gave this app three stars was because I do NOT like the fact that you have to pay for almost everything!!! I would like just one dieting app that is completely free, and still a great app!!! I would LOVE this app if you didn’t have to pay for it. I’m sure others feel the same way. Maybe you could make one big thing for big time dieters that costs money, and the rest free for people like me who only want to lose about 6-10 pounds and would love this app if you could have the stuff in it for free. I am now looking for a new app that you don’t have to pay for simple things like water intake and extra challenges. If you will make more things free I will stick with the app and it will probably be my new favorite, along with a lot of other people. PLEASE TAKE AWAY THE PAYMENTS!!!!

Helped me before and it’s doing it again so I subscribed
I’m pretty stingy when it comes to subscriptions because I guess I’m a penny pincher, butttt... back in 2015 or 2016ish (can’t remember which) I used the free version of this app to help me lose weight and lost 25 pounds!!! After a while after it did what i needed it to I deleted it for memory. Gained a little weight again recently after getting a sedentary job. This time around since I have a job that pays better decided to pay back by subscribing. It’s even better!! Will keep this app this time around helps keep me in check when my self control isn’t as strong. So grateful to this app for keeping me healthy :) thanks guys!!!

New Update made it bland
What happened to all of those custom motivational quotes I could give myself, the really pretty aesthetics, the ability to set my own preferences, the cute and inspiring tape measure that shows your progress? The adorable avatar? The sodium intake? The sugar intake? The "Tip of the day"? Where did it all go?! It's just a basic calorie counting/fitness app now. I liked this app because it was fun. It was colorful. It was customizable. It was motivating. It was unique It gave me a reason to wanna lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle. It was the only app that I stuck with. Sure some things didn't work here and there, but that doesn't mean you have to tear the whole thing down! Updates are supposed to improve those things that were wrong, not fix what isn't broken and make them worse. You've sucked all of the fun and motivation out of this app, please change it back!

3 days in; so far so good
This is the first weight loss app I've stuck with for more than 1/2 day: I just won't spend time LEARNING if it's not intuitive! This one is mostly intuitive, I'm gradually becoming comfortable with the navigation. Love the panic button and motivation area. They are strangely helpful! The avatar is a nice touch - sort of like a diet buddy. For me one sticking point is that the avatar has a pear shaped body but women come in several body types: pear, apple and carrot for example. If "body type" is added to the customization menu I could have an avatar that truly reflects my progress. Then it would be perfect for me! Developers, can you use the measurements data I've entered to make a more custom avatar?

Useful tool
I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and I find it helpful. The little clothing awards are kind of silly so I don’t use them. However I did dress my little avatar and it actually looks exactly like me because I found clothing and accessories like those I wear to work. I kind of like that!! I’m working toward my goal of losing about 15 pounds and I think it will take about three more weeks. My problem in the past is trying maintain the loss over time so I plan to keep recording my food and weight. I think this will help me learn what my maximum calorie total per day needs to be to stay steady. Crazy I’ve never actually tried this before (and I’m 69 years old!).

Good for those who need all the bells and whistles
So, I’m not particularly self-motivated: I imagine that’s true for a lot of us looking to loose weight. What I love about this app is that it will bug me all day, remind me what I’m focusing on, and help me stay on track. The little dress up game built in is a nice touch, too. Great for someone who needs a lot of external motivation! A quick note, though: if you struggle with eating disorder stuff that stems from a “I need to look like XYZ” place, this is probably the wrong app for you. It has a strong focus on physical appearance, and though that can be a healthy motivator for many, i could easily see it being a bad influence for others.

A Few Pluses, A Few Minuses
What I liked: lots of activities in the “exercises” section. You can add “folding laundry” or “walking with a stroller” or “mowing” all of which can help you figure out how many added calories you’re actually burning better than a simple pedometer. This part is better than other apps I’ve tried. Recipes are also helpful if you make certain meals regularly or different than the instructions on the packaging, but other apps have this. What I didn’t like: You really have to pay attention to the calories assigned to certain foods. For a week and a half I did not notice that the app assigned 250 cal to a cup of blueberries. That threw off my daily totals by nearly 200. Other foods aren’t as inaccurate but there are discrepancies that could add up to sabotaging your work.

I’ve been few yrs with app , I’m dissatisfied now
I’ve been very happy with the app for few yrs now after the new updatesI lost my avatar and all the accessories I earned and worked so hard for, overtime and now when I look at the App Store now you have to be paid subscription to have your avatar that’s wrong for the ones has been on the program for a long time. I feel the new update of this new paid subscription, I can see you charging for new comers for the avatar , but your customers that been there with you over the years it should not be taken away for what they earned, maybe you could limit it or they can’t earned anymore unless subscribe….but should be able to keep the ones earned.. Has to be a better way than this. I’m very disappointed and un happy…
