Works. 30lbs in 2.5 months
I tried keto, I tried them all. Ended up binging and gaining more back quickly. Found fasting and really knocked out the cravings. With Zero it’s really easy to follow your progress without feeling like you’re staring at a clock waiting to eat again. The articles help ease your mind in the beginning knowing that your hunger pangs and other side effects are common and have reasons. Also how to avoid them and get past the fasting wall. I love the timer and how you can count up or down. I count up because I like seeing how far I can push myself within reason. Counting down makes me want to eat as soon as it hits 0:00. The app has some great tracking features and syncs up with apple health so it takes down the data from my smart scale. Nice knowing that I don’t have to manually enter everything every time. A welcomed improvement would be a way to change the theme of the app to keep it fresh or personalized. Different colors etc. this is a small ask for me. Overall I love the app and have lost 30lbs, 6%body fat in 2.5 months. Tbh I haven’t exercised much at all. Just having my body do what it does and use the energy I’ve stored away for years. But now losing the weight of nearly two full size dyson vacuums, I have more energy both mentally and physically that I now crave to get out and do more

Updated: Room for Improvement
21 Nov Update: The developers reached out to me from my initial review and were super helpful and were able to walk me through how to better navigate the app. My lack of understanding how to fully use all the features is why I struggled to change fast settings without saving it as a preset. Due to their amazing response, explanations and helping me fix my complaints deserves 5 stars. It’s definitely worth the subscription and has earned 5 stars in my book.👌🏾 I can recommend this app 100% ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ————————————————————— It’s ok, I love the majority of the features. & unfortunately I forgot to cancel after my free trial. But it’s not worth $70/year. I don’t understand why there isn’t an option to shift or plug in a fast without having to make it a preset. Life happens and I sometimes do an odd hour fast just to get back on track. But that doesn’t mean I want it to be saved as a preset. You should have the option to just put in a fast without being forced to save it as a template. They’re typically one off fasts. The lack of flexibility there is annoying. It’s also odd that it’s not an option under the premium section. If I’m paying to track my fasts it should be a bit more flexible for the price we’re paying. I’ll look for another app that has this simple feature. It’s great aside from that.

Literally life changing!
This app has been literally life changing! I accidentally stumbled upon it, just wanted something SIMPLE to log my fasting hours when I first started learning about intermittent fasting but it has sparked my interest in all things related to fasting and health. Im not able to afford paid version and Im extremely grateful that the free version has enough basic information and tracking features to inspire change and at least plant that seed to help people want to learn more, and to want to live with more insight, regardless of economic situation. I was that moron.. the one watching with suspicion while wolfing down pizzas, thought people fasting were just weird food hating extremists. This app has been a revelation, and has been instrumental in opening the door to a new world to me so to speak. It has been invaluable in changing my attitude towards food, fasting, meditation. If you have the means to buy the paid version do it, it will be a small investment for what you get. For me sadly the the price point for the paid version for this and the podcast is not doable but the free version can be very eye opening. Dont just log fasts like I did at first. Dive in and discover everything on the app thats available for free and listen to the podcasts. Fasting and tracking my glucose is now my normal way of life. Grateful.

Used this app to lose almost 70 lbs in 3 months
Then the pandemic happened and I stress ate my way through. Now there’s a vaccine coming and I want to get back on track again. I highly recommend this app for weight loss, health, energy, anti-aging, etc. I wish I’d known YEARS AGO that fasting was healthy and a real way to stay healthy and fit. We were lied to fir decades, but it’s not too late to take control of our bodies and health! I tried a lot of apps for fasting and this is the most flexible. You can edit your start time after starting the fast so if you forgot to start the app, but remembered to fast, you’re all set. It has some scheduled routines and a lot of freestyle, so lets you do you. Notifications are inspiring as it shows how many other people are fasting. You can eat a wider variety of foods if you fast regularly with far less negative impact on your weight and health. I don’t feel like a failure or dread coming back to this. I got anew iPhone and it triggered me to get going again. I’m really excited! Join me in a fast today!

Eating windows and meal light don’t work
I really like the premise of Zero, and I would definitely pay for a premium subscription and use it all the time, except for one thing. The "eating window" has way too many bugs in it. For example, I'm currently on a 72 hour fast since Sunday at 6 pm. (It's now Wednesday about 1 pm.) Zero is recording this fast, but if I go to the calendar and look at eating windows, it shows me as have several different eating windows of apparently random lengths during this fast. There shouldn't be any eating windows (obviously) if I'm fasting. Also, while I like the idea of being able to record my meals and take pictures of them, which would give me the advantages of the Ate app along with the advantages of Zero, the app doesn't seem to let me go back into the meal and edit it. I'm not sure what the issue is here. Sometimes I can and sometimes I can't. Sometimes the meal that I recorded seems to disappear altogether, and sometimes it's there but I can't edit. I worked for a while with a customer rep, but they could never get the bugs worked out, so it appears to be a problem with the app itself. After a while, I was getting close to the end of the month that I was willing to pay for to try it, and I wasn't going to pay for more when it wouldn't do what it promised that it would do. I'm currently signed up for another month in the hopes that the problem is fixed. Obviously it isn't, so I won't be paying for premium anymore.

Removing features to milk $$
I paid for a year-long subscription with this app, during which time they never fixed a major bug with the way the app syncs to other health apps to give you personalized insights during your fasts. I reached out to them multiple times — each time, they blamed the other apps, even though none of those other apps had any other syncing issues and worked seamlessly with each other and with Apple’s Health app. Since they never fixed this major issue, I let my subscription expire, figuring I’d just use the simpler features offered on the free version (without personalized insights, basically a slightly more sophisticated timer app). Then with the most recent update, THEY REMOVED ALL OF THESE FEATURES as well, hiding them behind a paywall!!! The free version is now just a simple timer, and they’re asking users to pay more money for the same un-updated content that used to be free. If they had made any actual improvements to the app during the year I was subscribed, or even just added additional useful content, I would still be a subscriber. Instead, they’re removing features hoping to trick people into paying over and over again for the same simple product. Don’t waste your money thinking they’ll give you regular updates or improved features, they won’t. Every “improvement” has been to increase prices while removing features and only making minor cosmetic changes.

App forcing me to pay for premium
I loved this app and found myself using it for over a month. The mechanics are simple and it’s a great way for me to keep track of my fasting! However, recently it began trying to force me to subscribe to premium. Every time I open the app, a pop up comes onto the screen and tries to force me to subscribe to premium. There is no way to get off this screen and access my fasting timer again unless I actually subscribe to the premium feature. Whether I update the app or restart it, it stays stuck on this subscription page. It’s very frustrating that now, an app that was meant to be free with optional paid features, is forcing me to pay to access features that were previously free for me. I really want to continue using the app but I’m so frustrated that I’m considering deleting it. Update: the app just sent me a notification claiming my access was “unlocked” for me to use the app for free again without premium. Once I opened the app the pop up appeared again but this time with an “x” on the top right corner. While I will give this app an extra star because the problem is fixed, I still don’t find it fully enjoyable to use an app that temporarily forces you to pay them despite marketing themselves as a free app with “in-app purchases” which are optional.

Great App, a lot of room for improvement
I love this app and it is very informative and makes fasting a lot more positive. Now that I've finally started understanding what my body is doing during a fast and how I can accelerate fat burn during one I have had a ton of success. From weight loss to more energy and a better mental state, they have all improved. The one thing I would like to see be better is the food intake logging, sleep and hydration. They have you type a few words and it's very vague and not exact. I feel as though precision is key with understanding your health and every little detail you can add matters. I have another app I use to log everything I eat, drink and take as well as what workouts I do and how long and it works great. However, I don't get the knowledge and advice I get with Zero and it doesn't put the Fasting center stage like Zero does. Combined, they are great, but if I could scan a barcode and have my intakes recorded with Zero too I think I would have a better understanding of why I'm seeing results and how to be even more successful in the future. Just my two cents! I'm a premium subscriber and my experience has been extremely positive so it's obviously worth it!

Good app gone bad
I’ve been using this app for a few years. Over that time period it has gone from an app that mostly just provided a timer with reminders to an app that tries to do everything around food and health: coaching, information about diets, eating windows, etc. These are fine but I’m personally uninterested in them; the biggest issue is that they have very much cluttered the UI and made it less-useable. However, the big issue is that over that time period the app has gotten less functional at its most basic use as a fast timer. Often times starting a fast will appear to work properly, just to come back later and see that it never actually started a fast (and this problem is made far worse if you attempt to start from an Apple Watch). Similarly, ending a fast often doesn’t end a fast. The widget is unreliable to the point of being useless and both it and the app tend not to update fast timers properly. Manually setting a fast start time or end time often does not save properly. Overall, the performance and responsiveness issues have taken the app from a convenient way to organize my fasting to a burden that I’d rather avoid by using manual phone timers and forgoing any of the data-collection and encouragement that app, when functioning, can provide.

Full Featured App With Nice User Interface
I’ve been on a calorie restricted diet for years making very slow progress on my weight loss goal. I decided to start recording the time of my last food each day knowing that the time you eat may be as important as how much you eat. It quickly became a burden and a clutter on my calendar so I went looking for an intermittent fasting app. Since my original interest was just recording the time of my last meal I wanted a simple low/no cost app. I found only one free app that didn’t have in-app purchases to goof up features. Zero was that app plus it had the bonus of a 4.9 rating. To my surprise this is a full featured app with a very high quality UI . It has historical tracking of your fasts and can read or write to Apple Health. The app had so much IF learning information that I began a 16:8 schedule. I’m only on day 4 but my progress has improved while keeping exactly the same calorie goal. No matter what your needs to track IF or TRF you are in for a treat with a professional app to assist you.

Best fasting tracker in the market
I’ve been intermittent fasting for about 2 years on and off. When I’m fasting, I find it extremely motivating to track my taste on Zero. I love that it has a few of the standard preset fasting times, but more recently I’ve been using the custom fasts which is an excellent feature. I’ve been back and forth on the 16-8 and 20-4 fasts so I set my custom to 17 hrs at the moment knowing I can build my way back up to 20 hrs. When I was regularly fasting and tracking on Zero consistently for about 3 months, I lost 15 lbs pretty effortlessly. I’ve fallen off the wagon a few times but I’m back on now and am exciting to keep tracking. The UI is really beautiful and easy and I love that it automatically updates my weight from my Bluetooth scale through the Health app. The only update I’d like to see is to have a more interactive view with the recent fasts feature. I feel like this page could be more helpful. Overall, 100% recommended to anyone looking for an IF tracker.

Should have tried this sooner
I’m 47. I was about 40 pounds overweight, five days ago. Now I’m only 30 pounds overweight. I’ve alternated between the 16:8 and 18:6 fasts and been a diet Nazi on myself. I’ve switched to a Mediterranean diet, and probably eat between 1,000 and 1,500 calories a day (I don’t keep an exact count, and that’s just a rough estimate.) Basically, I’m eating about half of what I normally do in food, and have cut out all alcohol and nighttime snacking. Have tried to walk/jog about a half mile a day and run around the yard more with my 5-year-old. I imagine if I exercise harder, I’ll turbo boost this process even more. On a scale of 1-10, my hunger pangs while fasting have sometimes hit about a 5. But it’s totally manageable and takes just a little bit of discipline. With this app’s countdown timer, it’s easier to hang in for the last hour or two, because the end is in sight. And when you do eat, you want to eat as healthy as possible so you don’t feel like the fast was for nothing. My beer belly’s days are numbered.

Very useful
I have been using the Zero app since March of 2019 and have found this app very useful to reach my health and other goals that I have. The developers keep improving the app in many useful ways such as improving journaling, adding more knowledge to the learn feature and improving the stability and function overall. If you are wanting to track your first fast, look no further my friends this is the app to get. Also be sure to check out their Oak meditation app, it is amazing. One suggestion: I would love to see new features on the Apple Watch. For example have the fast tab show up on the Apple Watch that way I can quickly select the fast that I need. Also if you could please add the Oak app to the Apple Watch and have the ability to select and download a meditation or breathe to the Apple Watch. This would be awesome to have while away from my phone, that way I can put on my AirPods and do a quick mediation or breathe session while on break or lunch. Thanks for the hard work.

Favorite iOS health app
I have been using this app for the past year or so (intermittently, pun intended), and must say ur is by far my favorite health app overall. Part of why I like Zero so much is its gradual development of new and useful features, while keeping the interface minimal and functional. I never struggle to find settings, and their UI design updates never leave me feeling lost about where anything is, due to the simplistic and functional fast-tracker homepage. Unlike other fasting trackers I have tried in the past, Zero is more concerned with supporting a healthy lifestyle as opposed to just fasting, with regular check-ins on weight and goal-setting. As a student, I find the pro subscription a bit on the high-end, although I do feel like they offer a lot of content and features for it. I hope that they offer a discounted version in the future, but for now, I am also extremely satisfied with all of the free features that come with the app.

Compared to others this is great
In the past month I have tried the fasting trackers with zero, Simple, Fastic, and MyFitnessPal. Zero, at first I thought was lacking in the fancy visuals, so I tried Simple. Simple was a nice tracker that includes calorie tracking. The food tracking was terrible for the amount paid for the subscription, none of the food I entered was in their system, it was not worth it. Fastic was glitchy in tracking my fasts, like if I had to modify any start or stop times, it would not save any changes I tried to enter. MyFitnessPal is way worse with options to modify start/stop times, but wouldn’t actually take any changes outside the pre-planned fast times. I am still using MyFitnessPal for the calorie tracker. After seeing the bells and whistles of the others, I came back to Zero. It’s simple and allows editing of starts/stops. I’ve seen all the recent unhappy user reviews, but Zero by far is better than the competition.

The real wonder of using Zero:
The real benefit of doing the intermittent fasting with Zero, is that before you know it you change your eating habits such that in order not to prematurely end a fast, you make an effort and are surprised when you see how easy it is to be aware of senseless eating. With time you realize that you are really becoming the master of your body, and that you eat much more aware of why. We then “eat to live” and not “live to eat”, feeling liberated from snacking, and generally poor eating habits. To my great surprise, even though it was not my reason for intermittent fasting, I have lost over 20 lbs in some 8 months. Finally breaking my 210 lbs weight barrier, down to 207 lbs! This was incredible since I had become convinced that I had a weight set-point of 230 lbs, while dieting or not… Now I have the habit of intermittent fasting everyday, with a goal of 16 hours, but not worrying when this goal is not achieved, or if I exceed it; basically NO PRESSURE!

Great for old guys
At 60, gaining weight is easy; dropping pounds however is not so easy. Case in point, April 1 I weighed 310 pounds and felt miserable. Realizing I was literally eating myself to death, I knew I needed to make some changes. That’s when I found the Zero App. I figured I’d just use the free version to see what intermittent fasting was all about. 2 weeks in and I was down 18 pounds and not really struggling. However, when I purchased the full version I really kicked my weight loss into high gear. I’ve been using the full version for a little over 4 months now, and I’m down 67 pounds. The articles, challenges and tracking make it easy to stay motivated, and more importantly, provide really helpful information that has helped me learn more about my body and kept me excited about reaching my weight loss goals. Anyone that has struggled loosing weight should give Zero a try. It has changed my life.

The premium version was great until the last update
I am a premium subscriber and I absolutely loved this app until the last update, which took all of the coaching features out of the app - which is why I purchased the premium subscription in the first place. It used to suggest a weekly plan of 5 fasts of varying lengths to do each week and you simply had to get in the hours around your schedule on the flu. All that is gone and now the plans are the same fast every day and it wants you to plot out your own schedule for the entire week down to the minute and figure all this mess out for yourself. Heck, I don’t know my schedule for tomorrow most days, much less a schedule for an entire week! The app isn’t even providing any coaching any longer. It’s all a big complicated figure-it-out yourself mess that I don’t want to deal with. I’m probably going to drop my premium subscription at this point and just use it as a timer, because Zero took away all the features that I paid for. It’s not worth the money now.

Very good
I just renewed my subscription, so I’m obviously happy with the app. However it’s pretty pricey considering there is little personalization during fast times. For example, there’s no way to add consumption while fasting. I’d like to add when I’ve had tea or coffee, or taken my supplements. If I’ve had a teaspoon of cinnamon or half teaspoon of cayenne during my fast, it affects my zones and I’d like the option to add it. I’d like to monitor hydration with water during a fast, on the same app I monitor my meals. Maybe the app isn’t developed yet to tweak individual small changes during a fast, but it might be worth exploring. Finally, it seems strange that my fasts always start in the anabolic zone, even if I’ve only eaten small keto meals for a week (when not fasting). Shouldn’t it start in a different zone in that case? I don’t know, I’m not an expert and these are just observations/suggestions. I am very happy with the variety of options and information the app has, and with the app overall.

An essential download for weight loss
I’ve tried countless diets and none of them ever felt good. I have severe anxiety and major difficulties with memory and would get torn between eating out with friends or sacrificing my diet, both options sending me into an attack. Until I found Intermittent Fasting. It’s the first time I’ve felt truly free and in full control of my eating, with the added bonus of giving me tons of energy. And there’s no way I would’ve been able to lose as much weight (20 pounds in less than two months!!) without this incredible app. It’s simple, efficient, sends beautifully easy notifications, and even has a dark mode. The app shows you how many people are fasting with you, has options for the different kinds of fasts, helpful information, and much more. If you’re even remotely curious about weight loss, control over eating, or IF at all, you need this app. It costs a whole 0 dollars, so why not give it a shot?

Needs a clearer way to address cheat days!
Great app. I’d love for a few different functionalities. 1... the calendar(and notifications) to be more functional for scheduling different lengths of fast for the week in advance because the biggest thing is I forget to think about what time it is and when my fast will begin/end. Sometimes I’ll forget that it’s 30 minutes until my fast end time and I have to make food and then eat which pushes me past the cutoff. I want to automate more of my fasting schedule. 3 days i fast for 16:8 and 2 days I will fast closer to a 20:4. 2... you’re gamifying fasting, which is good, but this is problematic when we cannot schedule cheat days or a clearer way to incorporate random schedule changes into the dietary restrictions. There are certain days that I know my eating schedule won’t follow a normal fasting pattern but I can’t indicate that in the app in any way so it ends up looking like I had a 24 hour eating period or something like that. It’s messing up the data and usefulness.

Coaching function is frustrating
My daughter turned me onto this app. She’s followed Peter Attia for a long time. I really like the functionality, and the videos in the articles are great. I signed up for the coach portion because I really wanted to see the statistics. I’m two weeks in and learning how to fast suit me best as well as what is making for better weight loss for me. There was an initial questionnaire, and all the coaching seems to be based off of that with no way to modify or change preferences. The modifications week to week in the fasting regimes are minor but I want to add a couple of 18 to 20 hour fast in my week, and the app doesn’t allows me to do that. I could just do it and log it, but I get a lot of motivation about having the timer. I’m also doing over 110 hours in fasting, even if I’m not making my 16 hour goal every single day because I’m doing longer fasts some days, but then for the next week the coach recommends a 80 hour fast regime with options that don’t have much variety to them. Very frustrating given the cost of the app.

Extremely Helpful App - Review Update
I love this app. Very informative and helpful when it comes to health. I’ve been fasting for a while and having gotten this app makes the process much more enjoyable and educational. Previously, I had an issue where the app wouldn’t update the settings I had left for the notifications I wanted. It was very frustrating and annoying for me. I left a detailed review about the error and within about a week the developers fixed the issue and left me a response. Thank you so much to the team of developers who worked on the issue. Since then, this app has only gotten better and better. The Zero team is adding more educational content and adding new features that enhance the user experience. My favorite most recently added feature is the change in fasting zones. The Zero app now allows you to add a little bit of information regarding your lifestyle. Based on your lifestyle the fasting zones change. I’m currently on the ketogenic diet to lose wait and the change in fasting zones is very motivating for me. I also love the charts that Zero displays. For example I can see a trend line that compares my weight loss/gain in front of a bar graph that shows how long I’ve been fasting. This app is really amazing and is helping me meet my weight goals. Thank you so much for the great work and please keep the great content coming!!!

Actually free and very useful
This app is simple to use. Very intuitive. I only have the free version and I don’t get hounded by adds which is great. I don’t mind paying for Apps- I just basically refuse to pay subscriptions. I tried a few apps for fasting together and I didn’t like the others nearly as much as this one. I love that you can just hit a button to start a fast and another one to edit your start or stop time (meaning if I ate 30 mins ago but didn’t mark my fast as ending). The other apps were way to ridged. They would make you schedule all fasts for the week then would even automatically start and stop them. That’s not how my life works. I can’t eat and fast at the exact same second every day. That’s why I love Zero. It isn’t annoying. Doesn’t make you hate yourself if you break a fast lol. It’s just a great simple tool there to HELP you. Not there to overpower and run your entire schedule

I gotta say I really like the app
However plus just doesn’t do it for me. I’m already a pretty healthy fellar... I’m fasting fir autophagy and the app just doesn’t provide enough value for me. Lots of great info from the experts, like it like it like it. However what I’m going for there isn’t wnough information out there to privide the type of value I’m looking for. Will be going with the free version after my trial. And personally even if I was trying to lose weight the features probably wouldn’t do it for me. There is good info but most of it just seems like weight mongering(which is the typical marketing for weight-loss related strategies) But I think the price is steep. Overall great app concept, but there needs to me more value even before i’d consider paying that price for the app. I understand a profit needs to be turned but we broke. However I really like the app and will continue to use it and I’m happy to help the creator make money thru advertising. 4 stars!

Finally A Way Towards A Better Life!!
I just love this app. I chose the 16/8 fast and this app makes it so easy to fast. It will tell you the ending time based on when you start your fast whatever time that is and whenever I feel like breaking my fast before the time I look at how much time I have fasted and how much time I have left and just drink some fasting tea or bone broth and keep doing it!! I also placed reminders to let me know when I had gone halfway or to just check in to see how I am feeling while fasting. I love how it has the tracking that lets you know how many days you have fasted and the badges given for the days you have fasted. My next one will be the 25 day one and it is coming fast. After that is the 50 day then the 100 day and so on. It will be a great since of accomplishment to meet all of those goals, all thanks to this app. I love it!! Thank you so much!!!

Love this journey for me.
Absolutely thrilled at the mental result of my first fast which is literally minutes away from being over. The 15th hour got very hard. I made some black coffee which I hate and drank it and now I’m almost done and it did suppress my appetite and I did get over that hump. I made a commitment to myself and I stuck it through and that’s huge for me and that’s why I’m doing this. For self-discipline. To prove to myself that I can. The rest of the benefits are just a plus that I happily will relish in. I started the seven day free trial scoffing at the idea that I would ever pay nearly $70 a year for this app but intending to get a lot of use out of the seven days no doubt. Just minutes away from my fast ending my first one that I’m actually truly intentional and committed to, that $70 ain’t looking like a lot right now and I’m definitely contemplating taking this lifestyle more seriously.

You guys messed up with the recent update
One of my favorite apps. I used it all the time for my fasting journal. I just got done deleting it after the new version forces you to login your personal information… Not something anyone wants! I kept declining and every time I declined it would refuse to allow me to set the timeframe in custom fasting option. If I did not allow notifications it also prevented me from doing a custom fasting option. it now tries to link you through Facebook etc. All the different options that you added cannot outweigh the fact that you’re definitely mining for more information on your customers and this is a deal breaker. I’m not going to be forced to give my information and allow notifications when I don’t want them. The old version I just entered what time I started, what time it ended and it worked fine now I have to go look for another app or some other means of tracking my progress for fasting. Whoever came up with this so Called upgrade needs to have their head examined. People do not like being forced into corners where they have to allow notifications and or give their personal information!!!!

GREAT APP
I have been using the original Zero app for approximately a year now and love it. Just as is, the original is a fantastic app for tracking fasts. It also has graphs available to show your progress as well as the ability to log weight and other health info which you can sync to other apps (optional, of course). BUT NOW... WOW!! I’m on day 3 of the free trial of the new ZeroPlus and it’s amazing!! It will break down your fast in real time and describes in detail what stage you’re in with a detailed account of what your body is doing at that time. There are tons of other new features with the PLUS as well. I love the “Learn” center and it’s large amount of science-backed information on fasting as well as exercise, different diets, recipes, just to name a few! I’m still learning all the new features for I’ve only scratched the surface. But I will definitely be purchasing ZeroPlus once my trial is over. Highly recommend!!

Very helpful and useful!
Not having the subscription, there are some things you can’t read / watch / do in the app, but what IS available has turned out to be incredibly helpful. I love being able to see the calendar with fasts and the weight log, getting reminders. The app’s simplicity and usefulness has made it easy to keep on track daily. I’m about 2 months in haven’t missed a day. One suggestion as an addition would be a place to log measurements —- perhaps with fill-in-the-blank body parts for those that measure more than the standard bust-waist-hip. I’ve been consistently (SLOWLY) losing weight. What’s been a big help for me is my measurements, which have decreased fairly significantly already. I just add it in a Note app currently. A second suggestion would be to add a different color on the calendar for days you surpass your goal.

Used to be 5 stars...
The previous version of this app had a much more refined UI. I gave the previous version 5-stars while I give the current version 3-stars. This version is still functional, and it provides more information. That said, the current UI is unnecessarily busy and lacks simple but powerful elements of the previous version. One of these elements is when a person reached their goal the whole UI would change from the red to green. While this is a seemingly simple thing, it had a powerful effect on my experience. With the current version, I no longer get the satisfaction from glancing at the app during my day following reaching my goal nor do I get the resultant motivation to keep pushing on beyond my minimum goal. Another example is the interface for initiating my fasts. The previous version of the interface was more simple and in my experience more inviting to initiate a fast. For me, it was actually a small joy to press start on the previous version. Now I am faced with several pieces of unnecessary data surrounding the start button. It fees more like a chore than a pleasure now. There is too much noise surrounding the experience I am seeking I really value this app, and I believe it can help people. I hope these deteriorations and others are addressed and not worsened. The first version was so much closer to nailing it

Misinformation and deceit
The science behind weight loss is not fasting. That is a health myth that has been promoted by individuals trying to sell you a fast weight loss plan. When you do loose weight over a period of a week by fasting you are loosing “water weight” which is fat that is easily dissolved with the restriction of calories. Which would be great if it wasn’t a type of fat that comes back easily with drinking water. A lot of the programs say that it must be a total fast, where you don’t consume anything, no food or liquids, playing into the idea a couple of sentences back. This also denies the idea that people need to learn how to eat healthy on a regular basis. Fasting for weight loss is great for models and fighters that must go down a weight threshold to have a better weight in the short term, but is ineffective for the average person as as soon as the person is not restricted by the fasting app there has been no subconscious push to indulge again. And this usually is met with a rebound, and more weight gain for the person in question. In summary this app is trying to scam you into being completely dependent on it and wants you to fail with no plan B.

App would be Great with a Few Tweaks
I’ve used this app for 3 years, only taking one short break from it along the way. It has been great for tracking my fasts but I’m noticing a few glitches lately. My “weekly metrics” often show a fasting average that’s inaccurate. I’m assuming it’s supposed to be showing the previous seven days. If so, mine is currently showing an average of 16 hours 45 minutes, when in reality my fast has been 19.1 hours on average over the last seven days. The two-week average under this section seems more accurate. It’s a little challenging to go back to a previous day when I need to make a correction in my fasting time start/finish. But at least it’s doable. Wish there were some basic directions for navigating the app better. I would like to go in and take my “weight” off my main page but once I entered the weight, there was no way that I could find to go in and delete it other than changing the “focus” (gut rest, etc). Sometimes, it calls today “yesterday” or vice versa. This seems to be a newish glitch I’ve noticed over the last couple months. Overall though, I had to give this app a 4 because it has truly been a big help to me over the last few years. I like the design of the app much better than most others I tried.

It’s a beginning point for me
Reasons why I purchased a subscription and in priority order. 1. I need to sleep better - not just in hours but also in quality. 2. I need to break my obsession with food as a crutch for my stress. 3. I need to not feel so sluggish during the day. 4. I need to avoid the ups and downs of a sugar / caffeine rollercoaster. 5. I need to lose weight. Here’s the scoop. Eating before bedtime is bad. Why? Because it causes your digestive system to continue working which means that your sleep is going to not be as restorative as it should be. The first week, I did the 13 hour (fast) / 11 hour (not fast). I made a few tweaks to what I’m eating but for the most part, my focus had been on ensuring that I adhered to 13 hours of not eating and specifically, avoiding eating 3 hours before bedtime. I was able to stick to the 13/11 all 7 days however, one day, I ate within an hour of bedtime and it was not a good night’s sleep. The other 6 nights, I consistently slept 7+ hours without waking up once. The second week, I switched it up to 16/8 and so many things improved. My sleep was still 7+ hours but the added bonus is that over the course of those two weeks, my resting heart rate has fallen by 8 points. This is a solid investment. If I could suggest improvements it would be to allow for integrations with other apps.

Great motivation
I first learned about the new subscription level on Zero from the Tim Ferris Show. I was excited to check it out because the free version has been a daily part of my life for over a year now. I’m more than happy to play a bit of money to an organization that adds so much value in my life. The addition stats and content library is amazing and help me validate in my mind I am doing the right thing for my health when so many naysayers think the idea of not eating for long periods of time are crazy. For all the folks complaining about being offered a chance to access to more information at a cost, think about how you get paid. You provide a service to someone else and that puts money in your account. How do expect app developers to operate any differently. And, at a subscription rate at less than $3 a month, they certainly aren’t taking advantage of anyone.

If you are the fence...
About this app or about fasting in general, go for it. This app is a very well designed helper with first time fasters. If you cut yourself off, and forget to start the clock, you can edit the start and stop times by tapping the corresponding number on the screen. If you forget to start the app- or that you intended to fast at all, (hello me) there is a gentle reminder shows up on your lock screen. Overall, I started a 16/8 and feel amazing, AND I’m cutting out (yikes!) thousands of calories I’m not eating in the evening. I’ve been starting around 4p and although the app congratulates me for completing at 8am, I go for a few more hours. I’ve found I’ve lost weight, but most of all I have more energy, I don’t crash midday. Yes, at night I feel my stomach whining for food, but I know if I get thru it, I will feel great in the morning. Try fasting, try this app.

Fantastic App
This app is extremely helpful throughout your IF process. It’s user friendly, and if you a beginner to IF like me it offers plenty of tutorials specific to the fasting process to address any questions or concerns you may have along the way. You choose the daily Notifications you feel you need in the settings. My experience is they have had a positive effect in keeping me on track. Like I stated earlier, I’m new to fasting, I’ve been doing it for less than a month and already see it’s benefits. My one con is: the app doesn’t provide a way to track your fluid consumption, a feature sorely needed. Overall, this app has made applying consistency to my fasting program so much easier. And you know what they say,“Consistency is the key in all successful journeys.” I highly recommend this app, get it, and get started!

Great App
I was introduced to this app by when I started intermittent fasting. This app takes all the guess work out of figuring what time to break or start fasting. I needed flexibility so that I don’t have to stick to an exact time every day. When your ready to fast you press start fasting and it will indicate the time you will need to break your fast based on which fast you choose. You can also customize the type of fast that you want. The app also lets you know how much time you have gone over past the scheduled fast if you don’t break when your scheduled to. Whenever I have my last meal then I press fasting and the count down begins. Even if I stop eating at 2 o’clock in the morning the app will tell me the next time I need to break my fast. This app is extremely helpful and has been so useful in my journey with intermittent fasting.

Would be a solid app if they stopped berating users
My advice to Zero is to stop shoving the premium subscription down users’ throats. I’ve been using this app for 3+ years and largely enjoy it, but in recent months the amount of pushing towards premium they’ve done is obnoxious. It gets seriously, seriously old to be bombarded with ads for the premium version CONSTANTLY every time you open the app or use virtually any of its functions. At literally every turn in Zero, there they are, begging you to subscribe to the premium version. For an app that’s basically a stopwatch with the occasional interesting article, I suppose I could just move on and look elsewhere, but then again, I guess that’s why they’re so desperate for premium subscribers. I’d honestly give more consideration to the premium version if they were so disgustingly pushy about making you do that. This app used to be awesome, now it’s just another health app trying to get your money.

Nice counter; suffices
I’ve only used it for three days so far, so haven’t yet “earned” a week’s average, but it appears to meet the minimum metrics I’d need to challenge myself against my past fasts. However, I wish it had more metrics, such as monthly and annual averages, as well as other means to push and gauge my eating decisions. However, in my almost three days, I’ve been prodded to review the app 4 times, including the very first time I opened it. If I had had more time to evaluate it before the first prod, I’d probably know it better and provide a better review. However, I’m doing it now hopping the review prods will stop. If they don’t, I’ll try another app. Edit: with a (very few) quibbles, I’ve been using this app for a few years and certainly rely on it not only for a daily tracking app, but for the morale-supporting and challenges provided by the metrics that come from consistent use.

Mistakenly Monetized
Zero has decided to charge $70 a year for a timer… or so I thought. I opened the app to start my timer for my fasting window and I was hit with a pop up window that couldn’t be closed and was asking for money to subscribe. I couldn’t close the window. So I thought zero had made some upper management decisions and I deleted the app. Then I set my timer for 18 hours on my phone since it’s the same thing. Ive recommended this app to friends because of the links to the science and info behind intermittent fasting, not because of the timer. I came to review and give feed back of how I was disappointed that the app would be subscription only going forward. The ZERO team got back to me and informed me of the unintended subscription window a couple days later. So kudos to them. I reinstalled the app.

Disgusting, amoral business model.
Another app that has zero value. You are forced to commit to a subscription and give them your credit card number before you can even try it. Thus, even the developers don't even believe the app has any value. If they did, they wouldn't rely on forcing you to commit to a subscription before you even try it and hoping you forget to cancel within 7 days, so they can deceptively charge you for an entire year, They know most people would not pay for a subscription, due to the lack of value of the app, but since they were forced to subscribe and hand over their credit card number. They rely on people forgetting to cancel within 7 days so they can charge their credit card for a full year. Or like many of the victims of this scam, the developers 'forget' to send them a reminder but go ahead and charge for a full year, anyway. It really is a despicable, disgusting business model. Especally for a simple timer. Yet, the developers act like they created Red Dead Redemption or something.

What this app does is very simple but effective
The features of this app that I use are the fast timer and calendar of completed fasts. It’s very simple functionality that’s not in the other health apps I use and it has never failed me after a month of fasting. The app will allow you to track other data, but the offering isn’t comprehensive in that regard, even if you pay for the premium upgrade. It also has some advice content but most of that is in video form. I prefer to skim than being stuck at a presenter’s pace so video isn’t my format, but if it’s yours, maybe that’s useful. The little bit I did check out didn’t tell me anything I hadn’t learned with help of Google. Finally there are challenges. I’ve joined a few of these but they don’t change my motivation. Maybe there’s fun in collecting the challenge completion badges.

Absolutely the best app!❤️🙌🏻❤️
I am so happy I discovered this app! I am new to fasting & this app is my companion, it is full of useful information & tools to help you be successful with your fasting. I truly don’t think I would have maintained my fasting without this app. I usually don’t do reviews because once I’ve downloaded an app like this I’m usually quickly disappointed, it’s either too complicated to follow or not helpful at all. This is hands down the best; changed my life for the better! Definitely makes you feel that you are not doing it alone. There is a subscription if you choose to do the coach, the fee is very reasonable for all of the help & resources they offer. The free Zero is awesome too, just depends on how much help you may want. Thank you to all that helped develop this app & continue to make it great! I can’t tell you how awesome I feel!

I really dig this
First started using Zero in November 2018. The app was less tricked out then. But I lost 48 pounds and Zero came along for the ride. Really helpful. After a while fasting became so natural that I gravitated away from Zero. Unrelated to this, I started putting on the pounds again after managing to keep the weight off for a whole year. Just yesterday downloaded Zero again (love what you did with the place), set me a 24 hour fast and, whereas in recent weeks I really struggled on my own to even skip dinner, somehow a stupid app helped put me on the right path again. Just completed my first 24 hour fast, about to embark on a second one today (probably risky but I want fast results). Anyway. Awesome app. Something about that nice orange timer that help lock down that commitment. Can’t explain it. Thanks to the whole development team though!

Love This App!
I absolutely love this app, it makes it so easy to keep track of my fasts! I also like that it is simple to track things like exercise. I would love to see a way to customize the order of the graphs on the "me" page. I mostly just use the app to track fasts, weight, and activity, so I would like if I could move the activity graph up below the fasting and weight graphs rather than having to scroll past so many other things I don't use in order to find it. Would make the app flow a lot better, and also work better for those of us who don't have Zero Plus and aren't interested in it (for financial reasons or otherwise) so that all of the blurred graphs that say "unlock correlations" aren't cluttering the page either. That's my only suggestion. Other than that, one of the best health apps I've ever used!

Great for Intermittent Fasting
I follow a keto diet and lifestyle and eat in an 8 hour window. Zero helps me track my 16 hour fasts. You can create a custom fast time period and then press Begin Fast when you’re done eating for the day. When you meet your goal, an alert pops up to let you know you have been successful. I am VERY grateful for this alert because I would probably forget to eat otherwise. My appetite has really diminished on keto, and since I’m a First Responder, I can’t risk rushing off to a emergency and suddenly realizing I’m famished and haven’t eaten in 20 hours (it’s happened and it SUCKZ). Zero helps me remember that I’ve given my body a rest from digestion and it’s time to refuel for the day’s adventures. I simply get my meal 🥓🥦🍳🥑☕️, press End Fast, and chow down. After dinner I just repeat the same steps. So simple and so effective 👍🏼

Love this App
Fasting is like meditation for me - really difficult habits to stick with. This App has helped keep me motivated through the tough times, through the periods of hunger that would have made me give up in the past. I love the visual aspect of the timer, the prompts to force me to check-in on how I am feeling, the data, and the articles and virtual "support" peeps. The app has made visible times of the day that give me the most trouble and tips from other users have helped me deal with them. The bottom line is that the fasting has created a stepped improvement in my energy levels which has carried over into my work productivity and relationships with friends and family and coworkers. I eat when I get home at 4pm and end up making much healthier food choices (food has never tasted so good after a 20+ hour fast). This has become the too App that I engage with throughout my day.

Pretty good app
I really like this app it helps keep me on track. I like the features so far of being able to adjust when you started and stopped your fasting times. The only problem I am having is reading the articles. I am blind, so I use voice over as my screen reader that reads me everything on the screen. My problem is when I open the article it will start reading, and then the voiceover will stop, and it skips to the next page without me wanting it to do so. Basically, I am getting the beginning couple of sentences and the ending of the article but nothing for anything in between. It is almost like the articles are slides or something. Whatever it is it does not work well with my phone. If you guys could fix this issue, I would be more than glad to give this app a five star rating.

Bug?? Bad update??
I love this app. And never had an issue with until yesterday. I haven’t been able to basically use the app. I’m giving one star only because when I click app support there’s no way to tell them about a bug. So hopefully they see this!! What’s happening is the app is having a really hard time starting/ ending a fast, changing a fast, and keeps kicking me out of my account. I hit end fast and it’s saving them with an incorrect time and type of fast. For example: I ended my 13 hour fast that started at 8:25 but then saying I have ended a 18:6 fast while having a 18:6 fast still on going from 10 pm. And while I can edit the times from the journey section I can’t edit the type of fast. Gave 1/5. Edit: With the new update everything was fixed!! Thank you so much! Now a 4/5 because I’m unsure if they improved how to report bugs.
