I love this app so much. It lets me know about the breaking news and also a little bit of the weather. I was wondering how you could change the notification sounds. Is there a setting for that? If there isn’t, can you please install one? And, I am completely blind, so I’d like to know if you could add an audio description to your videos that you make? It would very much help me and the other completely blind people out there who use this app. Thank you so much and your app is the best I’ve ever used. In the whole entire world.
Run your Chnl 13 app on smart phone. Entirely tooo many un-necessary un-timed pop ups, some sort of count is displayed on app (found a way to delete - is by pressing app display then " home" button... count is reset) A COMPLETE BOTHERSOME NUISANCE AND NO SENSE AS TO WHY!!! When desiring to actually use your KOLD app, again format of sectional main topics is cluttered & again not necessary - too busy. Rather than cramming this juniors idea of junk down a throat AND not asking for customer input I have elected to just delete ALL KOLD apps, after being a member since Chnl 13 creating your original website//app. Thank you for your disloyal service.
The presentation format change is hard to get used to...very unattractive. Don’t copy same ol’... make it look like a generic news feed...what’s the point? Make it look like sugar! Most of all crashes frequently. Why? I would have fired that team. Nothing special iPad with plenty of room. I can’t believe people get paid for such poor workmanship. I can believe they get paid for the ugly format change because “art” is subjective. But I’m pretty sure there’s no art director around... if there is? You got it- fired!!!
The quality of reporting out of this organization is abysmal, as if written by a child. They are selective in what they report on to begin with (a great example being the “F$&@ the 4th” event held at Reid Park last year that made national news yet failed to register at all with these people), the reports they care to issue consistently lack basic details, follow up is flaky at best, and the reports read like an eighth grader wrote them. You’re better off getting your local Tucson news from one of the tweakers wandering around midtown.
I like the app, and I like kold channel 13. The newest version of the app I just loaded, February 2022, is working great. The overwhelming ads from the past app are gone, and the new version has ads, as expected because they have to pay the bills, but they are well placed. The app works well and is well laid out. Great job KOLD.
Lately, come local casino’s add appears before the site opens. Then, if you’re lucky, you can open a news item of some sort (weather, traffic, etc). Do that & up pops some dumb game the app wants you to download. If you want Ch 13’s news, enter Ch 13 Tucson into your browser, up pops a beautifully laid out news & weather site. Then add it to your iPad or iPhone . It’s far better than this useless app.
If I wanted to write a review I would have. But since you wouldn’t let me go back to the news without writing one, this is it’s: Terrible news publishing-only interested in ratings and forcing readers to write a review or change channels!!!!!!!ZERO STATS!!!! Thanks
The new format doesn’t seem as up to date as the old one. After just a couple of stories it starts in with stories that are days old. There are much more stories that are from today that are missing. I’m really considering a deleting and going to another stations app.
The app won’t load half the time, and when it does finally, I’m sent a five second ad. I even experienced two of the same ads in a row and couldn’t click off it for five seconds each. Also the layout is not user friendly. I am now primarily using News 4 Tucson app for news instead due to these issues.
While you are reading the news, ads pop up and cover the entire screen playing loud volume that you have to sit thru before you can continue reading the news. I just stopped using it altogether and now use KGUN 9 as you don’t have your news browsing interrupted like this ever. It was just too much so I’m deleting this app.
I agree with other comments. Hard to navigate, same stories shown multiple times. I will get a notification of late breaking news and when I click on it to open the app to read the story, it does not take me directly to the story. I have to dig for it OR often it is not even there. Like the station, hate the app.
When I open the app immediately there is an ad before choosing the news option and to make it worse there are ads between stories. Looks as though you are more concerned about money than reporting the news.
This new layout for the website is not as impactful as the previous version layout, in my opinion. I am also not happy to have lost the action radar on the weather page.
I agree with the past reviews that the same stories and ads would appear, but I still used this as my go-to news app. But today I received a notification to update, so I updated. Now, I can’t even open the app - it crashes. Unfortunately, after numerous tries, I have to delete it.
I gave it that title because that seems to be the gist of each news article on this site: “Some people did something, more information to follow” My 5 year old grandson could do a better journalism job as these reporters. Why write a “story” if you don’t include the Who, What, Where, When and Why? Totally useless news site.
Latest version won’t load - just the Apple spinning wheel of death on the opening graphic - forever. I suspect it’s due to my VPN connection blocking the ads which, from the sound of other reviewers, they’re apparently trying force on everyone. So long KOLD...
This used to be my got to for the news but the new update is the worst, every time I click anything I have to watch an ad. The notifications don’t work. It doesn’t even look like a real news station app anymore.
Had been using this app for quite a while and liking it. Then, the recent update. Now I can’t even find news articles. Why change what works well? I’m now using and happy with the channel 9 app.
iPad app is unusable. Only option is to view giant pictures full screen and scroll to one article at a time. This app thus takes way too long to navigate. I’m reading KOLD through the browser until this is corrected.
So far I hate this app. The stories are the same but you have to scroll past so many ads to get where you want to go that its really damned annoying. Not impressed!
Every time I open an item it has no connection to Tucson. Sure there may be sad news - but it is in Podunk Idaho - not local. House explodes in Michigan? What that to do with Pima county. Goes on every day! Take it back to local!
App won’t load even after first being forced to watch a political ad. Political ads don’t belong on news apps. I’m quite capable of making my own opinion. Now I have to assume KOLD is biased and consider it fake news.
This use to be my go to for Tucson news. Now it’s crap and nothing but ads and nothing worth reading. That use to be the KGUN app. They have now surpassed you in quality news. Too bad
Too many repeated stories and randomly snaps back to the top of the page when scrolling down to see the news stories... super buggy and a miserable amount of ads.
Why is the same story repeated so many times in the same page/day? The old page was bad enough. This layout is way harder to see “actual” news without all the clutter.
