I started doing the r/body weight fitness recommended routine and this app helped me get started so easily. It’s all here; the progressions, videos, rest times and timers. It’ll give examples and explain to you the steps of each exercise. No extra bits or ads or trying to sell you stuff. No annoyances to get you side tracked. Just pure straightforward useful app. It’s so easy to get started on the routine when it’s already outlined and presented to you the way it’s written up. No more excuses now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Downloaded this app specifically for keeping a record of my progress in the Reddit body weight fitness recommended program. It has the exact amount of functionality I was looking for - nothing extra. Smooth and bug free. Built in timer. Videos of exercises. Progression maps. If you're here for that program, this is the app.
Hello! I would like the ability to add notes to each specific work out. For example, on pull ups i started adding weight. But i will forget if I don't have a note of the weight somewhere. I am using the notes app but it would be nice if it was integrated into the app as well. Thank you for this amazing app!
Extremely helpful app for tracking. Love the timers and the explanations of exercises, most of which have photos and links to videos. Great stuff. My only complaint is that the graphics choice for the numbers (reps, seconds, etc) is illegible. I’m not sure if this was an aesthetic choice, or a bug with iOS, but I can’t find a way to change it in settings, and it definitely detracts from the overall utility.
This app will not spoon feed the routine to you, nor is it its purpose. So do your homework – google “reddit recommended routine”, watch the videos, THEN download the app. You’ll be happy and strong. For the RR, it its perfect as-is – if the hero developer who is doing this for free accepts a suggestion – consider adding the beginner and primer routines too :)
The app works great. The timer function doesn’t have any sound so it can be easy to loose track of when you’ve finished if you can’t easily see the screen. Some of the exercises don’t have a photo , or text on the screen to know what to do so you might have to remember from the up next info.
Excellent for the Reddit recommended workout. Like the best interval workout timer out there by far. It’s quick and easy to log reps and works very smooth. Would be better if it allowed the creation of customized workouts. Hopefully this comes in the future.
Has all the progressions, easy selections, runs you through the whole workout with a nice timer, makes it all super easy. My one request would be adding weights (esp. for squat and deadlift). I know I know, it’s body weight fitness. But sometimes a lil extra helps!
THIS is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for! I love how you can change the exercises as you progress. I used to have such a hard time with the spreadsheets from reddit, this is just perfect.
I’ve tried every RR app and this one blows them all away. One of the best apps I’ve used in any category and it’s free! Nice job on this one and thank you!
Clutter free and works well, keeps you on track and love the progressions selector. Wish we could have the ability to rotate pair orders, like ABC, BCA, CAB so that we are at fullest strength during different exercises throughout the week or month. Charting or graph feature and condensing the history page so that it fits neatly into one screenshot for sharing would be nice too! Thanks for the app!
It would be awesome if there were some visualization of your progress. Also, I don’t see any way to back up my data; does this backup to the iCloud? I’m unsure.
I love this app, it keeps me consistent and I just its nonintrusive and easy to use. For the first time in ten years I’m being consistent with my calisthenics routine :)
Does exactly what it’s supposed to do and nothing more. All for free. Hard to find an app like that these days. Perfect for the RR with all the progression paths.
I like the format of the app, but for some exercises, such as the pull up progressions and the dip progressions, the reps are set to 15-20. The Reddit page says 5-8. Is this intentional?
this is a great app to follow the recommended routine. only suggestion would be a way to edit past workouts or previous sets. a couple times i’ve accidentally entered the wrong number of reps and i can’t find a way to alter that after it’s been selected. overall great app though
Great for following the reddit bwf routine. A bit unpolished. Some exercises are missing titles and images. Would be nice to be able to add weighted progressions.
I found this based on the r/bodyweightfitness group on Reddit. I love how the app displays progression choices from one exercise to the next. Descriptions and embedded YouTube videos are super helpful. Does everything I want it to do.
Designed specifically for Reddit Recommended Routine. Log your workouts and forget about spreadsheets. 8x3 guides you through the workout by managing your rest time and exercise transitions. You always know which exercise comes next, when it's time to approach it and what is the goal for this approach. So you can fully focus on your technique and performance.
