Very outdated. Make it more like the website and I’ll download it again. Was hoping between the City of Tampa app and the Tampa trash and recycling app, I could find a quick reference for guidance on recycling, but neither offer that. I quick reference list would be more beneficial than having to search for what’s allowed in recycle bin.
This app could have been an excellent and efficient way to pay for water bills. Instead, it’s a cheaply made copy and paste job from the Tampa city website. An absolute mess of an app. The credit card input demands that you write out your entire address for your CC, your phone and email, along with all of the standard information. The phone doesn’t require this much verification. Oh and you only have 15 mins and if you mess up, it doesn’t tell you and it resets to the previous page. I almost thought I had paid my bill! Good thing I checked to see that it had not been paid successfully. It also doesn’t save credit card info. Can you imagine being able to pay your water bills with a click? Or automating it through an app? Apparently this app developer couldn’t.
Every month my account gets charge several times. Then the city of Tampa says I never paid. So I have to call just to get it fixed. Only reason this app received one star is because there is no option for 0 stars. They need to stop being lazy and fix it or completely take it off. They should only put up this option again when they have actually fixed the problem and can handle it.
Rudimentary interface and practically useless info
The seems that the only benefit this app offers is for the city of Tampa to say they have an app. The interface is outdated and rudimentary and the information it provides is essentially useless, it can’t be filtered or navigated it’s terrible just terrible.
...and it just got worse. It used to, at the very least keep your account info in the utilities payment section. while it wasn’t pretty, it worked. Now you have to fill it out every time you go to pay your bill, and if that’s not enough, the search by address section does not work. It tells me it can’t find the account. Isn’t this whole system based on addresses?! Hopefully the developers read these reviews. This is app development 101 guys, I expect a lot better from the City of Tampa. Aren’t we trying to become the next tech hub? This would be a good place to start thinking like a tech hub...
This used to work well for paying utility bills, but beginning in March 2019 it only opens the web browser to display the new website. I am not sure why I would use an app on my phone to do that; I could just bookmark the page.
There are so many problems that I can't even begin to catalogue them all. One of the most annoying is the location interface on service requests. There is no option to enter location via text. But the GIS interface is a fatal bug. When you go to the mapping screen on iOS to see where your service report is mapping, you can never get back to the service request. Because of this I have it completed a single request.
