When is Clearlight going to prioritize its customers?!
Good lord…I had hope that this “new and improved” app would be the saving grace of the atrocious and sad excuse of the original app. But unfortunately, I was dismally let down again. When on earth is Clearlight going to invest in a LEGITIMATE app developer and give us something half decent? This new app isn’t even remotely different or upgraded from the original. Please get rid of this landscape format and archaic functions and build something proper. You make plenty of revenue from your customers. Why not find a decent app developer and create something respectable and more importantly, easy to use and actually FUNCTIONAL? All that we sauna owners want is the ability to connect our devices to the sauna so that we can turn it on and off remotely. Is this too much to ask for? I’m seriously considering selling my sauna simply because I don’t receive this necessary and very simply resource from Clearlight. Shame on this company!
This is a mindblowingly dreadful app. From the forced landscape mode, to the font size, to the lack of ability to paste a password. And that’s before you even get to the functionality of connecting the app to the really expensive sauna you just bought. TLDR it didn’t connect, after many attempts. As the remote ability to turn on the sauna is something you want to know works safely, having zero confidence in this app (and back end service) made it an easy decision to give up and delete the app. It is pretty surprising this app even passed app review. Even more surprising that a company selling a very premium sauna, couldn’t get some basic application development done.
I have my sauna for almost a year. The app has never worked. I contacted the company several times to report this problem and they just say they are working on the app. No true, they are doing nothing. Then they told me they were going to send me some equipment so I can get connection….that was about 3 months ago and still waiting. They just play with customers because they already got your money. I paid $7,000 and that’s a lot of money for me not to receive what I was promised for. I am so disappointed at this company. Don’t buy this sauna if you don’t want to have the sane experience.
As others have clearly voiced here and elsewhere, Clearlight is about one thing and one thing only; getting your cash and forgetting you exist. Our $9k sauna arrives defective. Solution: send ME parts and instructions to remove the roof and dig into electronics to replace the power supply. Or wait for weeks or longer for them to locate a third party to travel. This on a brand new sauna. Why would we possibly think their app would be any different? This elementary excuse does not even provide basic functionality. Zero stars to this app and this company.
I have dealt with some terrible apps before but this one; oh my! It seems impossible to get past the sign up page. It’s one continuous loop of frustration. I know if the sauna ever stops getting hot all I have to do is try to use the app and I will be boiling in no time. Seriously if this app is a reflection of the actual sauna it’s time for a refund. Free is too much to pay for this app. If it’s anything it’s a email collection portal so they can sell your information to others. Save your self the headaches and the trauma: Do not download this app.
Agree with all the other reviewers here who say this is a miserable excuse for an app. Our sauna is several floors away, and a big selling point for us in choosing Clearlight was the ability to control via the app. Obviously should have read reviews first. Can only hope this company will listen to customers and do something to develop a quality app that actually works. Ridiculous that we spent this amount of money on an amazing sauna and have no ability to use the app.
I purchased my sauna at the beginning of the year, received my sauna in July and got a couple months of good use out of the app functionality. I loved being able to preheat on my way home and have the sauna ready to go as soon as I walked in the door…but no more. One day my sauna just disappeared from the app list and I can’t seem to reconnect in the old or new app no matter what I try. I’ve walked through all the set up steps myself multiple time and with the assistance of a nice woman from customer support. The closest I’ve gotten to success is getting a timeout error “ 8023, GIZ_SDK_DEVICE_CONFIG_- TIMEOUT”…at least that’s different than the never ending spinning wheel 🤦🏻♀️ I’m really disappointed that I can’t use this feature and hope the developers get the app sorted out soon.
Love the Sauna. Hate the app and the customer service
Amazing Sauna, but app doesn’t connect and has poor UI. Additionally, you can’t get anyone to help at customer service. When you call, you are connected with someone treat gives you a case number, and says you will be called back. Then instead of a call, your emailed some questions, after which providing the answers to, you get no follow up. Extremely disappointed.
I’m not sure why I allowed the negative reviews to influence my decision to wait on getting this sauna but the app has connected and worked 100% of the time all the time. It is amazing to have it on and running when I arrive home
Spent over 2 hours trying to get the app to connect to my sauna and nothing. Very very frustrating as we want to be able to turn this sauna on remotely while outside to time our return perfectly to get in. Ugh. When will the app work? All the reviews over the past 2 years are predominantly the same - very disappointed
I’ve been working on this for months and I’ve finally given up. The app absolutely will not connect to the sauna. I have even purchased a new router that ONLY has a 2.4 connection just to get it to connect. It still will not connect to the sauna. Complete garbage. So very disappointing considering the $10,000 I just spent on the sauna
Could not be more disappointed in this app. You have a beautiful product in this sauna (Sanctuary 3). Having a solid application with good user experience is bare minimum in this day and age. Please fix this atrocity. Connecting errors out, login doesn’t work, reset password doesn’t work and the application can’t find my sauna.
Actually I cant really rate the app because I was never able to make it work. Tried everything tech support suggested, could never get connected. Had to revert back to the Jacuzzi Sauna app instead. Had trouble with that one too but at least it works.
I think the actual Wi-Fi adaptor in the sauna must be bad because this worked fine for months and then just stopped working randomly and none of the troubleshooting works. We will see if the company stands behind their product.
When spending so much money on a sauna one would expect an app that worked. This is not the case. This app fails over and over. Locks up and has constant connection issues. Please fix this, it’s been years now.
May as well say there is no app as it does not work at all. Pure garbage to advertise its functionality and not actually have those benefits. Fix your app or delete it from your sales pitch! It’s false advertising.
Just got my sauna this week which I love. The app, however, is a different story! It won’t connect…… please fix asap as this is a reoccurring problem amongst your customers!
I’ve tried using both the Clearlight and the Jacuzzi app for my sauna. Neither one picks up my sauna, even though my phone and iPad are connected to the sauna via Bluetooth. This app is terrible.
This is super outdated. The app only works on one orientation, is clunky, glitchy and the instructions are all over the place. Relative to the price of the sauna, you’d imagine at least a functional app
$9000 on a sauna that I can remotely turn on and preheat but the app won’t connect because I have a dual band routers. The app only works on 2.4gHz. Clearlight’s solution was to purchase and setup another router. Unacceptable.
Not only does the app not connect, the setup of this 20-year-old technology-based solution expects the customer to be able to provide a 2.4ghz WiFi connection in order to complete the setup. Clearly Clearlight has built their solution on a bin of outdated technology pieces, and a prayer that no one will actually try and use it. The sales “promises” are lies - period. Caveat emptor!
It’s actually remarkable how bad this app is. It is far and away the worst “smart device” app I have downloaded since such devices arrived earlier this century. It would be comical were it not a component of a larger ~$9k investment. Since it is, however, it’s mostly infuriating, but also worrying that corners were cut in other ways with the final product, which I sit nude in every morning no less. Fingers crossed they fear litigation enough to approach functional safety with more seriousness than they did wireless integration. The first keyhole into the impending user hellscape is the forced landscape mode, as though it’s a novelty app from 2009, displayed cutely alongside iBeer or perhaps Pocket God on your homescreen. You cannot see the field you are typing in when logging in. You cannot copy/paste in either of the login fields. Your keychain will not be cued to remember the password for you. The security parameters for password changes, (which you surely will use within the first 24 hours unless “password” is your password), are weak and worrisome. All of this is a moot point, however, since you cannot actually setup a new sauna and begin to use the app for what is intended (something I cannot begin to imagine). That is unless you go into the advanced settings of your router and manually disable your 5ghz channel…which you actually cannot do on many modern routers (ours for example). You can only hide it, if you’re lucky. Good news, though, they addressed this issue with an upda—- no a nearly identical app that just says “5ghz” in the name. I stumbled onto this ugly twin with dumb “luck” if you can call it that. Thankfully it fixed everyth— just kidding it doesn’t work either. It relied on Bluetooth for initial connection vs 2.4ghz, and the device is more elusive than Predator on a foggy day when trying to connect. I’ve chosen to believe that this app was developed by a lovely blind 15 year old relative of a Jacuzzi™ executive with a passion for coding, who will never have this review read to them. This young, aspiring, fictional developer’s happiness is the only moral justification to the app’s existence.
I have had the same terrible experience everyone else who has written the reviews has had. I could never get the app to work, etc. I finally talked with Clearlight and they let me know that if I have any Ring products on my wifi network (doorbell, cameras, etc) that the Clearlight app won’t work (known bug. )They can’t figure it out, but that’s the situation. I ordered a $22, 2.4Ghz modem on Amazon and created a second exclusive wifi network just for my Sauna. This fixed the app immediately. My suggestion to all that are having the connectivity issues is to just add a second wifi router and fix it yourself. Clearlight has no immediate plans to fix this app. Read up on how to add an additional network, as you have to make sure it’s on a separate channel from your original router.
The app is only android capable. It does not work with apple. So, get an android device used and old on eBay…set it up, and it works properly. No joke. That’s what I’m doing and it works great.
