What I was hoping this app would do: tell me not just about the seedlings but what conditions it would need once I plant it in my garden. But it doesn’t. Just tells me mostly generic or limited info. Make troubleshooting easier-I have never gardened before and this misses an opportunity to help me learn about common problems I might encounter with each plant type. Other frustrations: why have a water icon if it doesn’t tell you when water is needed? Its push notifications don’t get through IOS well so I only got notifications for 1 plant out of 8.
Great addition to an already amazing growing system!
I was admiring Zara (my newly named Basil plant by this lovely app), when I realized this device probably comes with an app based on its title of click and grow (I’m horrible at reading instructions) I am in love with this app! It has a lot of cool functions like letting you know the age of your plants, on top of in-depth descriptions of the plants scientific information. I was surprised to see such a low rating, but it makes sense with only 2 reviews before this one. Cheers and happy growing :)
After reading poor reviews I was not sure if I wanted to use this app However maybe the app has been updated I just got the garden 9 pro Set up easy Was able to add and delete plants The plant info is nice Do you need the app? I dont know depends on your preference if you want to use the web site for plant information I like it as it allows me to set the light timer rather than having it set set at the time of plug in Plus having the app is nice to track your plants and make notes on anything all in one place This is my first indoor garden and its really nice

This company needs to redesign its app from the ground up or at least fire its designer and hire someone else. I have Four Smart Garden 9's and the amount of work it takes to clear out existing plants and input new ones is ridiculous. You have to individually rate every plant. Can't delete a garden if it has plants in it (that would have been the easy fix)
First off, I love the actual garden but your app? Dear lord. As a QA Engineer your app drives me crazy to the point where I’m willing to work for free and test your app because the user experience is awful. The garden and app go hand in hand, it should get a bit more attention.
Signs me out and refuses to sign me back in no matter how many times I change the password on the website it says it is wrong. Too many glitches. I do love the garden though.
I hate that there’s no way to turn off promotional notifications. I don’t need to know about discounted accessories etc. I appreciate the useful notifications that pertain to my garden but because the app forces you to take the bad with the good, I’m awarding a one star review.
Each time I add plants to the garden on the app and I save them then the app just shows that my garden is empty! I’ve tried many time and still face the same result!
I can’t for the life of me understand why I need an account to use this app, unless it’s just so the company can collect some customer data. This goes double for signing in with a facebook ID. But all that is regrettably par for the course today. Since they *are* insisting I have an account, they could at least give me forum access from the app. If you add your own seeds, you don’t get to give a latin name for it. If they would allow that, it would be fairly simple to give useful tips as well. You also can’t replace the generic picture with something that’s more specific to the plant you’re trying to grow. Encouraging me to keep a log of the plants, is a really good thing, and probably the only use of this app I should expect to get. I think three stars are pretty generous, but it’s saturday, so I’m in a good mood. Update: you have to log in every single time you open the app? Well, it’s no better than a browser bookmark then, probably a lot worse. Update2: you don’t actually have to log in *every* time, just often. However, it seems to keep all information in “the cloud.” For what it does, Notes is really more useful.
I enable the notification to hope to get reminded when I need to take care or harvest my plants. They abused the notifications and pushed ads every a few days.
The product is great and works as designed. All the plant pods I’ve planted have sprouted and matured. However, the app is absolutely atrocious. It’s very basic and slow. In fact the images in the app are not embedded within the app but fetched from a server, so you have the joy of watching the images slowly load akin to 90’s dialup connection. I do like the tips based on your plants’ growth progress. +1 star for that.
Have a smart grow 9, for the price I wish it offered slightly more— but I find using the app engaging and watching the plants grow deeply satisfying. Love that it tracks the plant lifecycle for me, it keeps me engaged with facts, and that I can schedule convenient times for our grow lamp. I wish it tracked water levels because let’s face it, I bought this system and not a more complicated hydroponic one because I’m a plant murderer. I REALLY wish the plant catalogue had a wish list feature! Very easy to implement, would justify the app usage, and probably lead to profits. What’s not to love? I’d like to use it to organize future plantings.
The ap has some potential, at the moment it’s pretty basic. I like the note section, but I’d suggest adding check boxes for dates for things like planted, sprouts, outgrew dome, flower, bud, fruits, harvest —- not only would it be simpler than adding notes and date and tracking progress for the end user; but that information could be great feedback to the company on average growth rates. Bring being able to at photos would be nice to (again for the user and the company) My only current disappointment is how it displays your plants. When you add the new you get a screen than mimics the layout of your click and grow planter. But then once it’s in the app it’s a list—- so if you have say 5 tomatoes and 4 peppers it is a bit of a jigsaw memory game to figure out in the “list” which plant that is in your planter Again- lots of potential... hope they continue to expand and enhance
A note to the developer... Recommendations :: it would be nice to add an option to name your own plant since you now offer experimental pods. This way this app would be helpful to record notes on progress. A photo of the added pod isn’t necessary. Just having the option to name it would be helpful. Pros- 1.) the ability to record personal notes on growth. 2.) plant information & tips Cons- 1.) not enough options to add a plant that is not listed. Reason: click and grow offers 50+ plants/herbs on their website but there’s only a handful of plants listed on the app. So it’s difficult to keep track of all your plants that are not listed. 3 stars because I love my click and grow smart garden 9. Just wish the app had more features. Hoping to see improvement this year! 🙂
Also a little buggy. It does have some interesting tidbits of info here and there, so it’s not useLESS, just not especially necessary. I assumed there’d be a way to control the planter from your phone, but even “smart gardening” is largely analog it seems. (Not complaining - who needs to digitize plants?) One thing I wish they’d add is the option to add photos. I try to take a zoomed-in photo every day to track the germination progress but I have nowhere to upload them.
I am proud to be the first person to write a review for this life changing app. From the Smartpot to the SHG to the Revolutionary SG9 and SG3 and I cannot forget the Wall Farms and the new Plant Shelf (and I can’t wait for the release of the SG21 ) Click and Grow is “Growing” tremendously as a company and I'm sure one day no one will know what it is to be starving because of this company! Thank You Mattias Lepp for you have truly changed my life!
Loving my smart garden and the app too! It’s very helpful! Keep up the good work C&G Editing to add- I wanted to switch my plants around between gardens but there is no way of adjusting the age of the plant or any other way to switch one pod to the other. Also, there is no way to delete plants in the archive
I like being able to keep track of my gardens, however I have 17 smart garden 9. I really wish it was easier to delete a garden when I am planting a new crop. It is far too tedious to delete each plant and then delete the garden. I also find it inefficient to not have my gardens in alpha order.
Wish there was a way to rearrange the virtual garden to match the real garden. I sometimes move the pods for better lighting, and sometimes the app places my selections in first available slot rather than confirming where I placed it. Shouldn’t be a hard development option I wouldn’t think.
Upon logging in on newest version my garden was duplicated. Just a bit annoying. App seems extremely slow. Clearly not written natively. Old review: Seems like there should be more instruction too, especially needed since there are no videos.
Whenever I tried to log in it always says incorrect login or password even though I have reset it multiple times. After that I tried to create a new account and countless times it has said failed to reach the login servers please try again later. I have even reinstalled the app but nothing changed. Please provide an explanation to this!!!
This app really really needs an update, it’s slow and it’ll be better to give more information about the plants you planted Also a dark mode version of this app would be nice
The app doesn’t do much except calculate the age of your plants. That’s helpful but not groundbreaking. But it’s free & I haven’t had any stability problems. I’ll keep using it & keep hoping updates will bring more functionality
This app doesn’t work properly and needs to be improved. It has a lot of potential to be amazing. I’m trying to reset my password as we speak and it’s not even working properly.
There really isn’t a point to this app. The information in the app is the same as the info on the packaging. I guess the videos would be nice if they actually worked...
This app doesn’t give me detailed tips and information like for example watering is a basic point I wanted to know before I planted the flowers. Please add more tips
It started off working ok but then things disappeared and didn’t ever show back up after deleting and reinstalling. Most plants don’t grow great either. Red Hot Chili Peppers seem the most promising on my second round of growing. App is not very helpful.
The garden is great, but I made an account using my google account. Works fine on the website but there’s no option for google login on the app. Why not?
This app has so much potential, but I’m just disappointed by the overall experience. As a someone who writes software professionally, I understand your company’s priorities are elsewhere and it’s difficult building and maintaining an app, but if that’s the case it’s better to not have an App, rather than have a bad one. I started by attempting to log-in. Why is it that I cannot use the same account for the website and the app ? I signed up for an account to buy a click&grow, it’s extremely disappointing and frustrating to sign up again. Why can’t I just log-in using the same account that I used for the website? Anyway I signed up for the app again, I used my email, and so many unresponsive buttons, if the app has received my button press and it’s processing in the background, please for the love of god disable or have a visual indicator. I clicked resend email button too many times thinking that the button did not work and ended up with 15 codes. This app is just a glorified plant tracker with no connectivity features, seriously why do I need an account for this? as many of the reviews have suggested please stop forcing an account. In the end consider just disabling this app, if your company does not have the resources to build a good one, it’s okay, most of us are happy even if we don’t have an app to track our plants A simple printable spreadsheet, or some other notebook would do the trick, If we really need pictures, I’m happy to pay money to buy a tracking book from your company rather than use this terrible app
I can’t get the app. to do much of anything, there’s nothing showing up in my plant archive, no tips. I can’t even upload pics of my garden’s progression.
