I completely LOVE this app, although I wish there was a few adjustments. 1. Please take away some advertisements throughout the shows, it ruins the experience of watching it all together as a show! 2. Please add more free episodes to IPads, IPhones, etc. It would be best to add a few new episodes to shows all together ever week or so, making me very satisfied. I love every show in this app, and I hope you add more episodes. I hope this review was actually worth writing, and please never, ever get rid of this app!
I downloaded this app to my Apple TV latest model and it was working fine for several months then all of a sudden it stopped working. It works perfectly fine on my new iPhone with my cable subscription so I know it’s not my provider and what I do and don’t have. The same problem happened before the September updates/new phones etc and I called apple, he in turn tried to call, see what was the problem could be. We worked on it over 2 hours and let’s just say we didn’t get anywhere. I decided to wait to try again once all apps updated to the new iOS and it worked until now. Also, I feel that the app support link should actually take you to a support email or something other than the cooking website. For now I’m giving this app a 2 star rating until it is fixed for my very expensive apple products and very expensive frontier cable subscription I pay every month.
As a child I loved the cooking channel and food network. Being able to watch all the shows that I used to watch just brings back a sense of nostalgia and comfort. Everything works properly and really creates a joy wherever you decide to watch. I 100% recommended!
I love the shows however the app makes me not want to watch. Half the time I watch, there is no progress bar to jump to where I left off. I need that because the app doesn’t remember where I left off. Airplay support is broken. If my phone screen shuts off the feed dies. The AppleTV app won’t work because their website won’t let me activate. On top of that there must be 20 ads in a show. That’s a bit much.
Constantly get ads with sexual or adult topics while watching cooking shows with my under 10 year old children. No way to opt out, most ads are for Discovery shows with old ladies talking about their sex drive, commercials for ED and a show about children in drag being sexualized. Not sure how those ads match a show’s TV-G rating. We uninstalled and reported to Apple and FCC.
Tell me Food Network, why should I have to watch the same six ads all over again because your terrible scrubbing mechanism brought be back to *just* before the built in ad break? Why can’t I freely skip around a program I’ve already watched all the ads for? Why haven’t you implemented split screen on iPad yet? Just a half cocked BS app meant to increase your ad revenue. This is why people pirate your programs.
I complained before but I have to say it works great. Never goes down. Totally reliable and if you watch the cooking channel this app will come in very handy. Good job everyone.
I love it so much because the best show is the best thing I ever ate and every time I watch an episode I gain like 10 pounds because after I go to the places that they go and eat what they eat!!
Here is my issue with the app: 1.) When a add plays it will either freeze and I have to close the app and reopen it or it crashes. 2.) If a set of adds are completed then the episode will start back at the beginning. 3.) When streaming from my iPhone to Apple TV or from iPad to Apple TV, the app crashes. 4.)When trying to log in, it is stuck in a infinite loop to authenticate my account. This app is also used for other tv channels such as HGTV and DYI network. We love watching many of the shows, we just wish the app worked so we could watch them. Current setup: iPhone 8 and XS IPad Pro Apple TV 4K Net speed is 245 Mbps down and 327 Mbps up
Downloaded to my iPhone and doesn’t work at all! When I select the option to sign in using my cable provider, nothing happens. No log in screen appears, nothing...very disappointed; complete waste of time. Update, App is now working, the issue has been fixed.
I use this app on my Apple TV. It is constantly buffering. I can barely make it more than a minute without buffering. No other apps have this problem, and I use 100meg service. The content is great, and very well organized, but is too aggravating to use.
Unable to login with DirecTV now. It remains an option in the list of providers but the link to login is broken. It has been that way for weeks now. Leaving a review is the only way to communicate the problem. Otherwise the app would be great but for now it is completely unusable.
The FCC needs to step in regulate the audio for commercials. Very annoying watching a show and boom a commerical comes on with extra loud volume. This was regulated back in 2012 for tv. Time to apply this for streaming devices too! Platforms affected are Roku and Fire tv players.
It doesn’t work with DirecTV Now. It is in the selection list, but when it goes to the sign in page you get a 502 bad gateway. The App doesn’t offer any type of support or way to contact them other then a digital “suggestion” box.
This app too, doesn't honor your tv provider subscription. I guess anything food related I will be watching thru Dishanywhere app! Getting rid of this useless app, sadly.
I'm giving only 2 stars since Sling isn't on your list of cable providers yet. Please add it so I can watch even more shows on your channel! I love Brunch at Bobby's!
Tried to watch Good Eats Reloaded through my iPhone and Roku Box and the app would quit every time I tried to queue up the show. Terrible and unreliable app.
I love this app and I have the food network app as well and I love both. I didn't update because I didn't want the advertisements, I love watching: rev runs Sunday suppers. I also love that the very next day it has the full episodes from the night before. If you aren't sure to get this app, don't hesitate it is awesome!!!!!!
Like many TV apps the Cooking Channel app doesn't make available all the shows on the channel. I caught a small segment of Eat This Now today but wasn't able to watch the whole thing. There was a recipe I wanted to try and replicate so I thought I'd just download the app and rewatch the episode, and of course that show isn't even offered on the app. Grrrrr..... I'm a Dish customer and I've run into this with almost every TV app I've downloaded. For some ridiculous reason most don't make available all their shows on the app. Why? I'm a paying customer! Whatever. Deleted.
As a major fan of Food Network, I love this app. You will probably only like this app if you like cooking channels (self explanatory). Thankfully my TV Provider is listed but if mine weren't, I'd be SOL. Because mine works, I love it and can watch full episodes of my favorite shows. Overall, love the app!
The only thing I would love to have accessibility to is a transcript! So far so great despite the commercials saying the video will resume in however many second and does not resume. Instead redoing the whole process but with a different time.
Love to be able to watch shows away from home. Would give 5 stars if recipes from shows were made available and if I could access my favorite recipes from the website.

This app is a total let down...every video I choose to view I get an error message that says video cannot play..I get better results pulling up the videos on Google and watching them there...This issue really needs to be fixed so that we can enjoy some of our favorite shows on this app! I'm truly disappointed!!!
This is so much better than on-demand! I get all the shows that I love, whenever I want them! Also whenever a new episode airs, it comes immediately on the app! Best. App. Ever!
