Empowering Approach to Quitting
I’ve only attempted to quit smoking one other time and was convinced that I would never be strong enough to manage it after my first (and only) fail. My personal mindset had usually defaulted to “if at first you don’t succeed, admit you’re a weakling destined to fail.” My doctor prescribed Chantix and a friend recommended that I try this app in conjunction with the medication. While I do believe that the medicine helped with the physical side-effects, I credit this app for fixing my head game. And honestly - I now believe quitting is 100% a head game! Even I couldn’t con myself out of believing the science behind the lessons - it all just made sense and allowed me to recognize the control that I do have over smoking. The lessons were well executed, short, and not at all preachy or condescending. This app made what was once a daunting and unachievable wish into a doable decision and I’m ever so grateful. It was worth every penny and I’m pleased to report that I have been smoke-free for three months and am still using the techniques I learned here to keep my head game strong. Highly recommend!

You have to be ready to be mindful
I bought this app a while ago, started it twice and quickly gave up mostly because I found being mindful very uncomfortable. Too many emotional issues were bubbling to the surface & I didn’t want to deal with them. I started meditating about a month ago (using Calm & then 10% Happier). Beginning meditating really helped me start this process with much more success. I’m a week in, smoking less & feeling cautiously optimistic. 7 days may not seem like much but for me it is a big deal. I’ll update my review as things progress. As for the app - it isn’t perfect. I agree with the reviewer re: having to reset the app to start over. When you do it, the app asks you not to but doesn’t give you the option of going back to Day 1 any other way.

Amazing
I am so grateful for this app, I’m not quite sure how to express it. I chewed a can of Copenhagen a day for the last 22 years and thought I might not ever be able to quit. I spent 6 months with this app before I picked a quit date and when the time came, I was ready to let go. It felt good to let go and I wanted to let go. I am chewing tobacco free today and feel like a new man You can use these practices for any gripping substance or bad habit you have in your life, this is not limited to smoking cigarettes. The world would be a better place if everyone used this app

It’s working
This is a program I can stick with, it is really helping me view smoking in a different way. So many exercises to retrain my brain. I’ve seen lots of reviews objecting to the cost, but in reality the cost is what I would’ve spent in just two days on cigarettes. I highly recommend to anyone who is ready to make this significant and healthy lifestyle change!

Needs a few changes but very helpful
Neuroplasticity, it does work and I am using this app to quit. I think this is a very good app, however, I don’t like it that I cannot change my quit date. If you reset, you cannot open the next lessons and have to start at day one. I would prefer to have access to the next lessons as I choose. I do look forward to them. But now my tracker is set for as it was a week ago because I want to move along. The reminders and check ins are inappropriate for my current status. frustrating.

Super helpful mindfulness
Don’t do as I did and pick a quit day before you start this program. You learn to smoke mindfully before you actually quit. It gives you all sorts of tricks to do with your mind to recognize triggers, ride out cravings, and even a thing to do with your hands to keep them busy. Great way to quit smoking mindfully!

More than just Quit Smoking help!
I have used this app since the beginning, it has evolved into a mindfulness daily practice for me! I have learned about more than my smoking habit, I’ve gotten to know my mind, how and why it works both for and against me! Give it a try! Onward!

Stuck on Quit Ceremony
Finally make it to the last lesson and it's stuck. I've replayed lesson 21 (quit ceremony) numerous times and it won't let me progress any further. Any suggestions?

This App Is Saving My Life
I am schizophrenic, and it is a well known fact that schizophrenics smoke more and heavier than the general population. The reason for this (in my opinion, and based on my experience) is the antipsychotic medications restrict the dopamine in the brain so much, and when we smoke it gives the schizophrenic a little bit of dopamine. And this little bit of dopamine take some of the edge (i.e. side effects) off of the meds. I used to smoke about an average of 45 cigarettes a day. That was just average. Depending on how stressed out I was, sometimes I would smoke 3 or 4 packs in a day. This App starts you off with “mindful smoking”. Since I started smoking this way it instantly cut my smoking in half. Today is my eighth day and since I started I haven’t smoked over 25 cigarettes in one day. Then the program moves to a mindfulness technique that they call “RAIN”. I had a little bit of problems with this part. RAIN is set up so you can “ride out” cravings. I could go through it with smaller cravings, but not most cravings and I would revert back to mindful smoking. The interesting part is today. Today I learned about “noting”. My goal for today is to do the noting exercise 2 times for one minute each. Well, when I tried it this morning, I found it not only interesting but fun. So I have been noting all day. Driving is a huge trigger for me. So is waiting on someone. And my biggest trigger of all is being around another smoker. Well I have driven for an hour, taking my daughter in law to a doctors appointment. I have been waiting for her to get out of the appointment for about an hour and a half. Through all of this I have not had a cigarette, and she smoked four while I was driving. I am amazed. Did I have cravings? Yes. I did. Especially when she was smoking, but this app teaches you how to deal with them. Now you may look at this app, and maybe you notice the monthly cost, and you will probably think like I did, and say “That is outrageous!”. I urge you to give it a try. I have been on the program for only 8 days out of 21, and I have saved almost 30.00 from buying less cigarettes. It is also cheaper than the patch, gum, or lozenges. Plus on top of that I have learned little “side lessons”, as I call them such as how to relax (even without a cigarette). I have also learned not to judge myself so harshly when I fail. Just regroup and figure out where you went wrong and try again. This is a remarkable app, and this should be followed in every stop Smoking clinic in the world.

Caveat emptor.
$25 a MONTH? I really believe this program would work for me, but it’s too pricey for a fixed income senior. Dang it.

Great but ...
I love this app but a monthly fee of 24.99? I would really like to use it to check in often because it was so useful. Please change to one set fee so people can continue to use it as a check in process.
