I love CycleBar and the experience. Love riding. Love the energy. Love the instructors. I’ve ridden at several studios. So from an overall experience, it’s amazing. However, as someone who is type A and extremely competitive the stats used during CycleBar can be discouraging and frustrating. Often, your profile in the app erases data (like weight, gender, etc) which are used to calculate your powerpoints in class which result in your ranking. While, it’s not the main focus of CycleBar, it does get annoying. As a 280 pound male who pushes himself beyond limits and expectations, to often come in last place or the bottom 10 of a class makes you really question and wonder how the stats used in class can be reliable or useful. It definitely could use some improvement. So, I always recommend people try CycleBar for the experience because there are so many good things about it. I just always warn them, that while the stats are nice, they should not be used heavily by people because they’re extremely discouraging and inaccurate. Which can deter people from riding again. Especially people who are competitive or type A.
Nice app pairing with the classes and I like the Apple Watch experience as well. I think you could leverage the performance data more effectively - some numbers like miles ridden should include a decimal point for more precision. I like the “vs last class” arrows and details, but think a spark line-like previous 3 class trend would be more impactful. You might try letting a couple data-viz business analysts start from scratch with all of your available data points to see if they can dream up new ways of presenting this information in context of prior rides. I’d appreciate seeing my real-time power points on the Apple Watch. Lots of instructors don’t show the leaderboard throughout class, so having that on my watch would be easier than guessing based on average power on the bike.
I finally took Jamii’s cycling class at Cyclebar after attending so many class at Crunch and I was blown away! The music was bumping, the atmosphere was jumping and the energy was off the charts! The cyclebar instructors like Jamii allow you to test yourself but always back off if you need to regroup! I love the friendly but challenging atmosphere Cyclebar gives it’s members so they can set individual goals. The first class is free and you are not pressured to join afterwards. There are so many great instructors there and class opportunities throughout day to fit anyone’s schedule. 🚴🚴🚴🚴🦾💪🏽.
I am truly grateful for the experiences gained at CB. The staff are always pleasant when you walk in and they greet you with a smile. The trainers are wonderful — filled with enthusiasm and encouragement. When I first began, I would occasionally comment on the classes and would think “I love this instructor”. Then, I’d attend another class with a different trainer and I’d think the exact same way but for slightly different reasons because each is unique. I LOVE CB!!! I am older than most in the class and feel I am part of a family — one that cherishes time together for a purpose of fun, unity and health! Thank you CB! Renee Bonin
I’m new in town and wasn’t sure what to expect. Came in and the staff was so warm and friendly. They treated me like they knew me for years. Went into cycle class where I was greeted by the trainer, Jessica. She is sweet as pie and will get you motivated! The music was AWESOME! I felt like we were all clubbing. The whole class was uplifting and awesome. At the end of class, I knew that’s where I belonged. The whole experience was amazing and I recommend beginners all the way to expert to join in on the fun! Can’t wait for the next class.
Great app for keeping track of fitness goals. My one complaint is that when I visit other CycleBar’s, the data doesn’t show up on my account. I’ve tried switching usernames, emails, logged on to just the CycleBar location site but still no luck. What’s worse is that it shows no data at all. I get the emails and then it doesn’t show my rides from other locations. Kind of annoying when setting fitness goals……that’s part of why I go to this gym. I like the competitive vibe and the stats keep me on track. Please fix this bug :(.
Great app, needs more consistency in the interface
This app has come a long way, but I feel it has a ways to go before it’s “perfect.” For now, here’s a suggestion: Getting one’s name back onto the leaderboard, if turned off, does not seem to work via the app. This should occur quickly and automatically, just like changing one’s Leaderboard Name does. I have a few more suggestions I’ll follow up with later. Great app, please continue polishing it!!
I am thoroughly enjoying my experience at Cycle Bar BK. I’m 61 years old and I’ve done spent literally one time in my entire life. I started at Cycle Bar because I realized I had lost my fabulous and I wanted it back! Although I am unable to do all the special things during class. I’m proud of myself for just paddling the entire 45 minutes! I hope to get better gain strength and balance, and be able to really shine. Thank you, Cycle Bar!
Today was my very first experience and ride at the CycleBar Allen!!!! I tell you I’m so grateful to have experienced such a welcome!!! I had to join! Entering the door the owner and a guide greeted me and welcomed me…. Were they waiting for me to show up??? AMAZING!!!! I’m so excited to have found such a profound club. The “Self care Sunday” the instructor….. “speechless” I truly ended the class overwhelmed, knowing, that this is where I ought to be!!!!! This is my new CycleBar family!!! Xoxo Celeste
This app and the account system is REALLY messed up. I previously went to a different cycle bar location and the app worked there. I moved houses and signed up at a different cycle bar closer to my new location. My app worked up until 1 month after signing up at the new location. It now says I have 0 rides available and has been this way for 2 months. I tried to coordinate with employees but no one seems to be able to fix this issue. It still says I'm registered at my old studio on the app. I no longer get emails after taking a class. I love cycle bar and wish they could fix this issue.
I just started doing spin class mind uou I never ever work out. I’ve now done 4 classes, and will go to more because I actually enjoy it. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Thank you Tiana for helping me. They are just overall wonderful. The facility is supper clean. I seriously can’t say enough good stuff about cycle bar and their amazing staff.
App works great to book/cancel classes, see upcoming rides, etc! I also like that I can easily access my stats immediately after a ride. Two additions I’d like to see in the next update: 1) Option to connect Fitbit watch to the app just like the option to connect an Apple Watch 2) Better visualizations and UX in tracking historical data so I can view my progress over time!
Okay. This ride was hard and intense but SO worth it. Jessica is so inspiring in the way she talks and motivates the class. I even got emotional in the class!! She makes you want to strive to do your best the whole time and pushes you just the right amount. I absolutely have loved my experience so far.
I love CycleBar, but I haven’t been able to book rides through the app for almost a month! I upgraded from a package to an unlimited plan, and since then haven’t been able to book through the app or online—I get an error saying I need ride credits. Ironic since I’m having so much trouble only AFTER upgrading my membership. The staff at my club have been great about texting in my spots, but I can’t even see the map of available bikes which makes it really inconvenient to try to pick which bike I want! Wish they would get this fixed!!
I seriously was so bummed I had to find a new cycle home and was nervous getting cozy in a nee “scene”. I couldn’t be happier having stepped into SoJo Cyclebar. The studio is beautiful, the trainers and staff are so insanely kind and welcoming and make me feel seen and at home. I look forward to being a part of this family! Thank you!
This review has nothing to do with CB itself - I love my CB community!! My issue is with the app. I get promo notifications several times per day, and I cannot figure out how to turn them off. I don’t want to turn off notifications altogether in the iOS settings because I still want to get my reminder one hour before class, but the app needs a place to opt out of these obnoxious promo notifications. I have an unlimited membership and go 5 days a week - you really don’t need to sell me on CB, haha
CycleBar is a great place to ride. The instructors push you to be the best version of yourself. The atmosphere is very friendly and everyone genuinely cares about each other. The workouts are at your own pace so you dictate how intense you want them. For me I like to be motivated and CycleBar definitely delivers.
I’m a new member and the app seems very user friendly. My young daughter has an account, but no phone, therefore no app. It would be great if the app had an option to toggle between users. Other than that, lovin it!
This is a very special place! These people are the sweetest, most encouraging people you can ever have to push you right out of your comfort zone! The energy in this place is incredible and quite addicting! So happy To be back!!! And so happy to be part of this cyclebar family!
I really do like this app a lot. It had been working fine until a few weeks ago when it stopped adding rides to my calendar. When I make the selection to add a ride to my calendar the app just shuts down. Hope it gets fixed soon as I used to use that feature every time I booked a ride.
This is fun, high intensity and low impact 40-45 minute spin and motivation class. Greeted when I walked in by my name, positive energy is always encouraged and great stress and anxiety reliever. If you haven’t tried it they spot you a class for free. Definitely heading back!
As we grow, we (hopefully) realize the world, even with its problems, is a pretty neat place. Sometimes we think we are climbing a grade into a headwind. At the top we can shift to a better gear and choose between ‘a coast’ and going for the ‘land speed record’. At Cyclebar I trade, time, money, inconvenience, lactic acid and sweat - for the satisfaction of thinking I have made a step in the right direction. The world (even with its problems) is a pretty interesting place, and the more vistas I see, I see. David Gooch ( distribute as you wish )
Today was first class. First workout of any kind in YEARS. I felt so welcome and even though I couldn’t keep up as much as I’d like, I was pushed and supported to keep going without feeling stupid. This place is amazing!!! I’ll be back!!!
Not really a complaint, but since reopening, the “add to calendar” function will work once and then does not work going forward until app is deleted and reinstalled. Not a major issue, app works for me in reservations and check ins, just notification of the issue I am having.
Great club and riding family - Come Out and have a spin with friends. Professor Melissa is Amazing, she’s with you all through the ride and everyone passes their expectations on her final exam - great workout and the most fun had on a Bike. 5 stars all the way. Ángel E
My app keeps crashing. When I sign in to my home studio, the app crashes. I can sign in to other studios but I can’t book a ride through those because I can’t sign in to my home studio. I’ve reached out but haven’t heard anything back. Any ideas? I’ve downloaded and deleted the app at least 10 times. Otherwise… love CycleBar 10/10 recommend
Bre was so kind and has the most beautiful energy! I felt so welcomed and motivated I enjoyed my first ride so much and will definitely be back! It was challenging and I am excited to get better and better. Thank you Bre and CycleBar!
The staff at Hilltop is really great! Welcoming and help you blend in for exceptional work outs! I’m very excited to be back on the bike. The teachers are top notch and you don’t even realize you’ve been sweating for 50 minutes! It’s so intense and upbeat it flies by!!
Loved the workout but the music was a little too loud for me, I couldn’t hear the instructor well during class and left with a headache and ringing ears (and I heard another girl mention the same on my way out). Regardless, had a great time riding and sweating!
App is great! But the “Add to Calendar” function isn’t working all the time anymore. Works once, but then you have to delete and download the app to get it working again. Looks like others are experiencing this same issue as well...
Riding cyclebar helps with burning calories but also helps setting and completing goals, with like minded individuals. Great way to escape the world and do something to help my personal health. Highly recommend.
I love starting my day spinning at Cycle Bar. The owner (Pedro) greets you with a smile and the spin instructors (all of them!) are so motivating and encouraging! It is safe (temperatures taken / bikes far apart) and music that even I like 👍‼️. Come and join our Cycle Bar Family...
Love the classes, love the app. However, the “Add to Calendar” feature doesn’t work. Under settings it doesn’t even list Calendar to have access or not. I hope the developers fix this soon.
I moved here from PSL and this spot is minutes from everything and the music is great. Energy is amazing All the spin instructor’s are excellent and funny and just so nice and helpful
My app has been crashing within 1 second of opening it. I’ve deleted and re-downloaded it 3 times. It will let me log back in, but once I’ve logged in to the app it immediately crashes. Can’t schedule any rides or even look at the app long enough to do anything before it crashes again.
The app is so simple to use! The faculty at CB Yorktown explained how easy it was to use and showed me in studio! Everything is quick and easy. So we’ll organized
I love the app. I love Cyclebar. But it seems since the latest “update “, when I book a class then click on “add to calendar “, it knock me out of the app, and does not add it to my calendar. It did before, not now. Kind of frustrating……..
Not as accurate as you think it should be. Sometimes it doesn’t math right. It can’t always tell the difference in an increase or decrease. It also doesn’t track rides accurately. There’s no one to contact to try & fix it either. 😢 But it’s great for scheduling at least
today was my first cycle class at the Hillcrest location and I actually really loved it... the employees are super sweet & very helpful. definitely should try & don’t be afraid starting something new! loved instructor “Issy” .. great energy!! ⭐️
This is the best fitness class in Cincinnati. From the kind & helpful staff to your fellow riders to how clean and well kept the cycle studio is. I love to start my day here!
I’m Totally In Love With This Class & The Experience! I Was Invited By My Friend & Was Totally Skeptical. But After My First Ride I Was Completely HOOKED!!!! I Feel Awesome! My Confidence Level Is Fire & I Look Forward To Attending Class Every Week! Thank You Gill!!! You Are the Best!!!
I like CycleBar as a way to exercise. What I never understand is that you have to sign up for each studio one at a time- with separate user name and password for each! Why can’t I have a loyalty to the brand?
This was my first time in a spin class in over 5 years and I’m so, glad I came. Class was amazing and the instructor was so encouraging and motivating.
From the CycleStars to the CycleBar app! The experience is great. They really take care of you & help you take care of yourself! Give it a try , your first ride is free! If you don’t like it , no worries at all!!
Love the studio! But would like to synchronize my data!
I was very excited to rejoin a cycling studio a month ago! The app is great and easy to use but it does not seem to sync data with Apple health as it appears to do so when you are in the app. I would like to be able to do this so I could ultimately have my CycleBar stats reflected on Strava. Grateful for help with this, thanks
Every single ride I’ve taken I’ve gone exactly 8 miles according to the app. Every single bike I’ve been on has given me a very different number, off by about two miles. At some point, just admit you don’t know and let me enter it.
Can you add the spot number to the iCal reservations? That would be a good detail to add that’s missing. Also a way to report a bug in the app instead of having to write a review to reach the developers.
