The Worst App on iOS
I’ve been using an iPhone for 10 years and downloaded hundreds of apps in that time. None of them were this bad. The Davis Vision app is slow, broken, unhelpful, and ugly, all at the same time. I have not been able to log into it once with the same credentials I use on the Davis website in the 6 months since I first downloaded it. It would be best to remove this app from the App Store - its lack of quality reflects poorly on Davis Vision. I have replaced it with a bookmark to the Davis website and I recommend anyone reading this do the same.

Not helpful
I downloaded this app thinking it would save time, checking for providers and eligibility. I ended up losing time, having to call customer service for the activation link- had to be on hold for 15 minutes waiting to speak to a person- what a waste of time! Once I got the activation link, I opened the app wanting to check my provider and the list of providers wouldn’t even load. Not worth the trouble at all, though I’m not sure calling customer service number is any better. 👎

Needs a lot of work
Set this up to have access to view ID Card as I do with everything now. Only problem is the ID Card only has my name and company name. No ID#. I know my name and who I work for who memorizes a 9 or 10 digit ID #? The only good use of this app is to see a list of providers but even that is a little funny because the “interactive” map doesn’t let you zoom in or out and it does not allow you to tap a location to see their contact info. The app needs a lot of work.

Horrible app. And horrible company
The app doesn’t work half the time it doesn’t recognize your password. It makes you create a new one that says it’s not active. It is one bug and defect after the other. Don’t even bother trying to file a claim with this company. They are absolutely the worst. Their website is outdated they send you to providers that aren’t even in their network even though they say they are and then they don’t respond to your claims. Horrible, horrible, horrible.

Useless!
What is even the point of offering an app when none of the information saves correctly, and you can’t even log in to access or use the app in the first place? Absolutely a worthless app that does nothing but take up space and data. Someone please explain how not being able to log into and access an app is a coverage error? Pro tip if you want people to actually use your app, make sure it functions before releasing it and promoting it to the public!

Pretty much useless
Setting it up was annoying because the window for my security question kept popping up AFTER I already selected the question and entered my answer. Then, the main reason I downloaded it was to access my ID card, which this basically doesn’t have. It shows my name and my employer. Hey, thanks! Like I didn’t already know that info. I’d like to access my actual card so I can present it at time of eye exam - you know, like every other medical benefit app has. No group number. No ID number. Pointless.

Terrible
I’m not one to write reviews for apps but jeez... this app has some kinks that needs to be worked out. I haven’t been able to log into my app for a week. I have the correct information but every time I try to log in it toggles for quite some time until it either bring me back to the log in screen or gives me a message saying there’s a “connection error”. I’ve deleted the app and redownloaded it every time I’ve tried to log in. This app needs some serious work.

Terrific Easy to Use App!!!
This app is awesome, very clean and easy to navigate. My only issue or recommendation is related to the initial registration process. The fields should auto-progress when one is filled in to avoid not seeing/skipping additional fields that still must be completed. Excited to use this app to keep track of my family’s benefit eligibility & coverage. Nicely done!

Useful and easy to use
Wanted to check family’s use of benefits this year and gave the app a try. Very easy to see who had used it so far and who still could. Provider search was useful but map jumped around a bit as the list loaded. Nice interface!

It opens
It opens but it’s completely useless. Want to see your Eligibility and Benefits? Too bad. You get a disclaimer and no way to go back to the rest of the app - menu changes to useless. Claims? Same deal. Make a wrong click and you have to exit and force close the app to get back to main screen. This app was designed by amateur fools who have never used an app and they obviously didn’t bother to test it. Why the farq did my employer pick Guardian/Davis? We’re voting to change next year.

Doesn’t even open
What a terrible app. Doesn’t even open, but calling customer “service” only allows you to listen to canned recordings…no agents to help you. All the while you’re navigating the useless phone menus, a recording keeps telling you how you really should be using the super awesome brand new app for the the best service. The non functional app seems to be the best service they can provide. Terrible on every front.

Would had given 0 start of it was possible.
Lot of issues. I do understand small bugs here and there. But this app is more of non functioning items. The provider search page does show lot of items on the maps but then if you select the list view, this list is not visible. It’s not that there are no providers in that search result. The list doesn’t display on the page. This is just one of the non working item.

Where to begin?
Too many bugs and stupid features to waste anymore time. I used the app to register as a new customer (very dumb and tedious registration screen), hit the Register button, and…nothing happened. No error message, no nothing. Called the helpline on the website. They said, “Sometimes you have to register on the website before you can use the app.” I. Kid. You. Not. And it went downhill from there….

Not the best
The app look and feel is amazing but it lacks functionality. When submitting claims the blank to fill in the price will not allow you to enter decimals. Also I clicked the round bullet for my spouses name and got through all blanks to the end and it would not submit due to not being able to find my spouse on the account. Needs major work.

Terrible avoid this insurance if possible
Terrible, avoid this insurance if possible, this app and company are terrible. I can’t even change my password if needed and when I do change it, it tells me it’s wrong and when I hit forget password it just gives me the old one which surprise surprise STILL doesn’t work. Come November when open enrollment comes around I’ll be switching.

If so, please get a hold of me so I can give you a run-down of all the things that your app and mobile site can change. I can’t believe this app is even on here. It has so many issues as does its mobile site. I mean, you can’t even use their provider search because it will land you in the hospital from hitting your head against the wall so much in frustration.

App won’t take Managed Medicaid ID Number
Terrible. It won’t take my Healthfirst Managed Medicaid ID number. Yet I am covered with Davisvision through my Insurance. What the heck? Also, I put in a secure password, and then it demands a password hint. What kind of hint do you want me to make for a secure password which is a jumble of letters and numbers and different cases without putting in the actual password itself? Someone wasn’t thinking about the use of secure passwords when this app was designed.

Pretty useless for what I need
The retiree program works by purchasing vouchers, which this app won’t let you do. Instead, you have to call an 800 number and assuming you can get it to actually connect (took 6 or 7 attempts) it put you on hold for a very very long time. They offer a message call back service, with a 48 hr response time. How difficult would it be to enable a purchase via the app? The website is no better, as far as I can tell.

Amateur Hour
The app looks promising, but you cannot use it to find providers. The map opens in one place without your position being shown and you can’t pan or zoom, so it is useless. The list view is not in any discernible order and the distance isn’t shown, so you basically have to map each one individually in google maps. If it works that poorly on a simple task like parsing a list or providers, I would never use it to enter a claim.

Frustrating.
Had to download this in order to find an eye doctor. Took three tries since the site does not tell you to exclude the letters in your member ID. In fact, it accepts it ! After that, every doctor ‘details’ tab I clicked on opened up a different doctor details page. 8 such errors in a row was enough for me. Will be deleting the app. No real details on my plan provided anyways. Best to call and find out the old fashion way.

Very user friendly and love the ID card feature! It's helpful to also have access to find a provider without logging into a computer. Wish all my benefits had a site like this.

Needs improvement
App is ok BUT the one thing it could use most is missing- a truly useable card to present to providers during a visit. Currently the app only displays your name... and that’s about it, it doesn’t show the member ID. Please build a full digital card function like the one Blue Cross offers in their health app; that function is very handy as it can be saved to Apple wallet for ease of use

Not great
I downloaded the app because I was trying to find claim history and the website didn’t seem to have it (I looked for a good 20 minutes, so if it is there the website hides it well). Pros: the app loads the claim history and it is very obvious how to view it from the main menu. I can see eligibility for myself and my wife easily. Cons: literally everything else about this app is bad. Can’t search providers at all - it fails and says “unauthorized” I would give it 1 star, but since it did actually provide the information I specifically downloaded the app for it deserves 2.

Not worth the trouble
I have an online account that I have been using for over a year now. The app tells you to use your online account user name and login to open the app but it doesn’t work and when I try to register an account for the app it tells me I already have an account. With all the numerous bad reviews you would think the developers would pull their heads out and fix this app.

Worst UI Ever….
They need to fix so many issues. When I’m trying to sign up, they ask me to input member ID, which is a combination of letters and numbers, but they give you only a number pad. I had to copy and paste it, and it worked. And there were more after. Took forever to sign up. After that, it says I cannot log in. Thank you for wasting my time.

Touch ID doesn’t work
He activated the Touch ID multiple times when logging in, yet every time I go to log in I am prompted to enter my password. Additionally the blurring of the screen every time it transitions from one view to another may seem “cute” for a vision company app when in fact it is annoying. The last thing anyone who needs their vision corrected wants to experience is blurry screens.

Easy access to ID cards!
I forgot my ID card and used this to quickly and easily pull it up on my phone. I would say it saved the day, but as it turns out I didn't need it for my appointment! Ha! :)

I would give this app 0 stars if possible.
I have tried without success for several months to simply login to this app. I’m fairly tech savvy but I’m stumped. I have registered, created user and passwords, uninstalled and reinstalled this app and still cannot get past the spinning wheel of death on the home screen. I have emailed, and called with no solution.

Doesn’t let you log in
I hate Davis vision. They took the option to view your ID online so if you lose it you have to have it shipped to your house. The app also won’t ever let me log in anymore because the server is unresponsive. If my company wasn’t paying for my vision I would go elsewhere without a second thought

Needs LOTS of work
I downloaded the app so I could check eligibility or when my benefits were last used. No data! Really?! Navigation is bad too. The splash page has 4 options. Once you select an option, you can’t go anywhere else. I have to keep exiting the app to get back to the front page. Such basic mistakes makes me wonder if it was ever tested.

1.5 stars too generous!
In true Davis Vision fashion, this app is pretty darn useless. I can’t access the explanation of benefits here or on their website. This is unfortunately what happens when healthcare in America is monetized. It becomes not about Healthcare at all but about profit. Healthcare is just a product to them like a pair of shoes or a tube of lipstick, sad and pathetic for our country!

Its so easy to use! All of my benefit information was available for me to review and made me realize I haven’t been to the eye doctor since 2015! I have to get there! :)

Needs help
As many other users have stated, the main reason for this app is to show your ID card easily, but it only shows the name and the company, not the user ID#. Basically it is only useful for giving the locations of eye care centers where they are accepted so I will give it a couple stars for that.

Complete Useless - Totally Disappointed.
Downloaded the app and I can’t even sign in. Tells me there was an error after buffering for about a minute and to report it if it continues. What’s the point of having an app for convenience if members can’t even sign in. Completely useless

Crashed all the time when trying to open the app
I tried to find a provider, and over the phone I was suggested that there is a new application that they can use. So I downloaded the app and tried to open it and no success, it crashes all the time!

Needs revision
As currently implemented, this app is not friendly or helpful. If the IT crew at Davis would just try to use it, they will quickly see what I mean. Customer service at the 800 # was very helpful. I have deleted the app and may try it again in a few months.

Slick! Touch ID is so nice
Use of TouchID is an AWESOME feature-I never remember my vision login info so this is super helpful. Thx! 4 stars because forgot my login isn't mobile-ready and had to access from my computer.

Has issues
Tried to submit a claim, and it keeps giving me an odd “service type” error. Screen also has layout issues, probably hiding the field I need to fill out. Hate wasting my time with poor quality apps like this.

App never lets me sign in
This app is garbage. Every time I sign I get a error that tells me to close the app and try again, but that doesn’t work either. Davis vision customer service is about as trash as this app. I’ll be switching insurance in October so I don’t have to deal with them anymore.

Cannot navigate between windows
In this particular instance, I was looking for details for providers. I clicked on the details, it took me to the provider details, but then would not let me go anywhere else, backwards, forwards, nothing. Very frustrating! Had to exit the app and reload to get where I wanted to go.

As if dealing with insurance wasn’t infuriating enough
Very buggy. Entered my claims, took a picture of my receipt, got “ERROR service type required.” There is no field with that name as far as I can tell. This is some crap right here. Davis Vision needs to do better to support their customers.

I knew going into it that Davis itself was at best a subpar insurance. The app just confirms what we knew. What is the point of having an app if you need to do most things through the equally dated, confusing and overall crappy website?

Doesn’t let me log in
It does not let me log in. I can log in on website without any issue. Customer service doesn’t know how to help. I just wanted to leave the insurance card out of my wallet…other functions are not useful anyway.

Immature app
Missing lots of basic iOS capabilities like storing credentials on phone, accessing password apps like 1Password, or biometric login. No indication of claims submitted so I have no idea if they were received. Eligibility isn’t current or accurate - some benefits were used over 20 days ago. So much opportunity for improvement.
