This app is great when it works but the problem it is it almos never does. Not even after uninstalling, it works for a couple of days and then back to just a blank screen. Is it loading-reloading-sleeping? It seems to be useful to limit attendance to the room’s max capacity …. If it would work..
I was worried when I saw all the negative reviews but so far this app does exactly what I need. The whole “Daxko Mobile” naming is kinda weird but at least it changes its own app icon once you select your YMCA, so you can recognize the app on your phone. It has schedules and, if you want, notifications about closures and cancellations. That’s helpful (adjust app notification settings to your own preference, I guess). But it excels at the one thing I really need from it: as I’m walking up to the Y, I pull out my phone and there’s a well-timed notification waiting for me so I can simply tap to open the barcode to scan in. This is SO helpful. I try to keep my pockets as empty as possible, especially when headed to the gym. So being able to easily sign in with my phone instead of carrying an extra card on my person 24/7 is really appreciated. Maybe they fixed the bugs that everyone complained about? Or I haven’t experienced them yet. Either way, it’s been great so far.
The primary reason I use this app is to look at the pool schedule. Earlier versions of this app were glitchy but generally worked and would have earned 3 stars. I did find that it was difficult to select for just the pool schedule, but the main limitation was that staff did not update the schedule when changes occurred. Since the update, the app no longer works at all. I have removed and reinstalled multiple times. You get a blank white screen with a search bar at the top. When you enter the branch name or location, NOTHING happens - not even a “not found” error message. This version of the app is completely broken. I am particularly frustrated because I have driven to the YMCA multiple times to find the pool closed. Phoning is not an option since no one answers.
I have an iPhone SE, with ios 14.6. I’ve always updated so my iOS is current. Before the last update, Daxko was unsteady and unreliable. Since I updated to 14.6, It’s just Dead. After it opens and goes to the search bar for the Y I attend, and after entering the name of the Y, NOTHING HAPPENS. There is nothing to indicate it’s searching, and after five full minutes there are no search results. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app four times. Im careful to select uninstall , and not just remove. Doesn’t matter. So far three support people at Daxko have not given me any useful information or help. One did point out a misspelling, though. I’m hopeful the Y pays absolutely NOTHING for this app, although if they do, they are getting what they pay for.
I have had nothing but problems trying to input my YMCA. Nothing g happens when you put in the name for searching. I have done everything under the sun to make this work. I’ve erased the app, even from iCloud. I’ve restarted my phone and reinstalled. Still zip, nothing! Totally useless. I can’t register for any classes at my local Y. I’d rather if I had to pay to access a good and working app than use this waste of space. My husband had problems too but by some miracle his was able to be set up after many attempts of erase, restart and reinstalls. It shouldn’t be this hard to install and app much less use it. I recommend you fix the issues or get out of the app developer business.
This app is useless! I signed up for the Y today and was recommended to use this app to stay “better connected.” I was really excited because the lady at the Y told me I would be able to see all the classes and programs that are offered and I could signup right from my phone. So imagine my disappointment when I could not even make it pass the search page of the app! I opened the app as instructed from the flyer. I clicked in the search bar to type in my city so it can find my facility, then boom nothing! It’s just stuck, nothing pops up and it doesn’t even show that it’s searching. This needs to be fixed ASAP, otherwise the app will remain useless!
Can’t say how well the app actually works, but problems with searching prevented my wife from getting it to list the local YMCA. On iPhone once you fill in search to find local YMCA & press done- nothing happens-no search results. However if you press return you get results from your search term & you can proceed with the app. On the iPad version you don’t have the “done” button & if you don’t hit return on the keyboard nothing happens. Just sloppy programming & no quality control. This is with iOS 15.x. It hasn’t been updated for over 1 yr and there has been 2 major iOS releases in that time period.
I’m wondering if the app works fine and some of the locations don’t have their data loaded to the app. I signed up at ymca in Louisville KY and I had no problem utilizing the app to see the schedule of my locations and view programs to sign up for. I also loaded my member card to the app with no problem.
Piece of garbage app. You can go on the YMCA website and see all the classes offered at their locations but you can’t sign up for any of them since every time you go on this trash app it says something along the lines of “take a breather, there aren’t any classes today” no matter what location you switch it to. I’ve tried deleting and re-downloading. I’ve tried updating my phone. Nothing works. This app is junk. The Y should really figure it out, otherwise they’re going to lose valued members to gyms whose classes are actually easy to sign up for.
After reading many reviews I was skeptical about the app but after downloading the app I was able to connect with my local Y with ease and found the app very easy to navigate and understand. I highly doubt the people leaving the reviews even downloaded the app because it’s great!
I got a white screen and tried troubleshooting the app several times. It only works (once) when I delete the app and then reestablish it and plug in my local Y.MCA information. By the next time I want to look at the schedule, it has gone back to the white screen. We would be better off with a pdf on the website. Also, the contact sources are for business owners and others who have purchased the app for their organization. Nothing for individual users.
I am having the same problem that MANY others are having. I loaded the app to sign up for swimming at one of the Y locations in Grand Rapids. The app loaded and went to a search for your location screen. The a either recognize or just froze after I typed in the location just as shown in my local Y’s tutorial vid. I deleted the app and reinstalled and still encountered same problem. I have an iPhone 6 S running iOS 13.7. Seems a lot of people are having the exact same problem.
The app keeps me informed about schedule changes. Also, it’s nice to have both my card and my wife’s in the app in case either of us leaves our cards at home! One minor issue - the last update was supposed to update the app icon. It worked on my phone but my ipad still shows the default daxko icon. No big deal though.
So received an email stating that our Y was switching over to this new app and the old one was no longer available after the 12th. Downloaded the new app but it would not even open up. Saw others have had this issue. My problem is why don’t the developers respond to the issues? I feel the consumers are being ignored and certainly not a way to bring new products on especially if there are this many issues. Fix it or go back to the old way til it is fixed.
After reading all the reviews I wasn’t sure if I wanted the app but it was very simple for me, I just put my city in then selected my ymca and now I can use my phone for my card and look at the schedule of my y it’s very convenient
I’ve been using it for 4+months and I never have a problem getting any information I need. Love that I can see all of the schedules day to day. The updates for closings are beneficial so I don’t waste my time and I’ll choose a different work out!

I’ve been using this app for years without any issues. It recently updated and now it just sits at the search screen so I can’t even use the app anymore. It wants me to put in my location, I do that but it never searches for anything. I see that others have reported this issue as well, are you doing anything to fix it? I’m on an IPhone 15 Pro.
I already have this app before & just lately, it seems to not work anymore. I need to book for group exercises at our local ymca which I can do before w/o any problem. But just today, it just keeps on buffering, so I have to delete it first & redownload from the app store. And to no avail. I agree with the review I just read above. The search bar doesn’t work & would not give any search options either. Very disappointing!
I bought this app because the YMCA in my area suggested it in order to keep up with schedules, etc. I downloaded the app and it refused to do anything other than spin like a wheel. I deleted it and downloaded it again, and had the same problem. Then I tried it a third time. No luck. If you buy it, and it works for you, great. But I have given up on it.
This app really does not do anything. Like the other review says: I typed in my location and the app did nothing. And it’s some little itsy-bitsy tiny writing at the top where you type in your location. The rest of the page is blank. It doesn’t even have a submit button. What kind of game are you guys playing with this nonexistent phantom app on the App Store?
When it’s working it’s super easy to use and helpful. BUT it keeps shutting down, where I can’t reserve space in a class. So I delete and reload and it doesn’t work at all. I’ll keep trying for days until somehow it magically works again — until it doesn’t. 😠
This used to be a decent app. I use it mostly to reserve pool times. Recently it started asking me to put in my email and password every time I use it. I don’t find this an improvement but a big step backwards.
As many people stated, you can’t search for your location because the geniuses didn’t include a search button. Try using the Go button on your keyboard, if you have it. After multiple attempts to find mine that’s what I ended up having to do. Good luck. This issue has been mentioned for months yet still no search button added. Is it really that hard?
I rejoined the Grand Rapids YMCA after a 16 month hiatus due to COVID. I was looking forward to getting back into the swing of things. Looks like the Daxko app is still “down and out” though. A victim of the virus? I removed and downloaded several times and had the same results. Hoping they get it fixed soon — or the Y finds a different vendor/developer.
This is the version my YMCA uses. Would constantly get a white screen, so I uninstall and reinstalled the app. I can't even get past step 1 which is to search for a location. Perhaps their server is not responding, however there is no error or timeout. The Y needs to find a new developer.
After all these years, the same errors persist. This is supposedly the only way to add the login to Apple wallet. Complete garbage. Same blank screen for years. But you know what they added? They added the words, “not found,” after clicking the return button. Such a waste.
This app is awful. I don’t know the issue is but we can’t add it to any of the other iPhones in our family which makes it quite inconvenient when there are 5 of us who use the YMCA daily. And half the time it won’t load/refresh on my phone so I can’t use it to scan in.
Have loaded this app several times. One time it did list several YMCA’s but the one I am a member of is not listed. The staff at my YMCA are perplexed. Have loaded it with Wi-Fi , without Wi-Fi, no matter what, when I start the app it just brings up the search field and nothing else. Typing in my Y’s name does nothing, the app just hangs. Apparently some more bugs to work out.
The filtering capabilities are very poor. Some scheduled activities disappear as soon as you try to filter or select a type of activity. So you have to scroll through everything. And there is no easy way to clear your filters to do a new search. These are pretty basic capabilities any modern app should have.
The only way I’ve been able to get this app to work is by continually uninstalling and reinstalling it. Super frustrating and and saying that a basic scheduling app just won’t work for anybody. Wish the developers would read any of the reviews posted here and make some changes!
It would be nice to register for paid classes and services right through the app. Every time I do that, it asks me to select a membership when I’m already a member. Besides that, this app is really buggy. Sometimes the app crashes when I’m using it. Glad I don’t have to pay for this app.
You open the app once and it works. Try to open it again and you get blank screen. After a week goes by you’ll be able to randomly open app again only to get blank screen the next time. Pretty bad and should be removed.
Same issue as others have reported. I select my local YMCA, but app always shows me classes 500 miles away. I suppose at this point the developer either doesnt know how to fix this issue, or just doesnt care. They’ve earned their 1 star by having a completely useless app.
I used to have my membership cards in apple wallet. Apparently this is now broken. So I can’t use my watch to sign in to the front desk. About the only thing good the app used to do. Please fix for ios16
I tried numerous times to search for my Y in the search box and it didn’t pull up anything. At one point I inputed another Y location close to mine to see if it’s just my Y thats not able to pull up, and it pulled up! However , when I tried it again later it didn’t work. Please fix.
Installed today after getting a Y membership and cannot see anything in the search bar. Reading reviews from 3 years ago seems like this is a problem that hasn't been fixed in 3 YEARS. Completely disgusting.
When I open the app on my iPad, often I get a blank screen and it never loads. I end up deleting it, then can never find the YMCA of Greater Louisville app when searching. I know it exists since I just deleted it! When it loads, it works ok…good at scheduling the appointment I want for lap swimming lane at my YMCA BRANCH. OTHERWISE….FRUSTRATING! Please fix
I routinely have to delete the app and re-add it, updating my information all over again. Today’s issue - just a white screen that will not update or show any information. Removing the app and re-adding it tends to fix whatever bug is causing issues at any given time, but it is inconvenient.
I have an iPhone 11, and I have tried to load the Daxko app numerous times with no success. I have tried over the past two months in fact, with no success. I even got the staff at the YMCA to try to help me, twice, and no luck. Why can’t the YMCA invest in some quality programmers to get this fixed? The app is Pathetic, to say the least!

YMCA said I should download this app as they are shutting down their old one. Downloaded the app, screen comes up asking for location. Regardless of what I type in for the location and hit done…nothing happen. Doe loaded and deleted the app three times and each time was unable to get past the location screen.
The app is completely useless. Like others, I have reinstalled multiple times to have it work once, then nothing. YMCA should seek an alternative developer, as these people clearly don’t care about quality product.
I have an iPhone XR. The very first time I downloaded the app, it worked fine. After trying to use it the next day to check class times, it’s just a blank page. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, restarted my phone and got the same thing.
Does not work properly on any iOS device. It opens after initial download but whenever I try to open the app again, It’s just a blank screen. Requires you to completely delete the app and re-download after every single use.
Terrible and just worthless. This app hasn’t worked from day one, and now it just sits on the search page and refuses to recognize my facility’s location. In fact, it doesn’t recognize any location! Don’t waste your time, it’s pure garbage.
The search line comes up for me to type in my center location and when I do, nothing happens. It won’t search or do anything. I’ve tried multiple different names for my centers location and it’s like the search bar is frozen. Pointless
Frozen from time to time on iPhone 6. App does not show pool schedule for swimming or has an option to show only swimming hours as on the Fanwood- Scotch Plains’ website. It would be quicker to go to the YMCA’s website to check pool schedule. People who wrote this app clearly have never used the Y. Outsourcing? Delete this app from my phone.
