Great workouts but app needs work
I’m really enjoying my treadmill and the workouts, but the app has some bugs. The leaderboard doesn’t seem accurate, and fails to load completely sometimes, especially when I’m using my iPad. In order to track your heart rate, you have to connect your Apple Watch to your phone with the app open on each device. This prevents you from using the Apple Watch’s built in fitness tracking to track your workout. I much prefer the stats / screen I have with the Apple tracking so i guess I have to go without my heart rate data going towards my score. Not a huge deal but frustrating. If you’re using an iPad, just forget about tracking your heart rate. You have to connect your watch to your phone and your phone to your iPad. Why? Back to the leaderboard accuracy, I was once on a live event, and the names on the leaderboard did not match the names being called out at all. None of the names called out were on the app. And some of the names I’ve heard multiple times in other recorded workouts, to the point where I think they are made up.

Great Workouts
Recovering from surgery, a friend recommended the Echelon bike. I had my bike for 2 months before I could ride it, but once I started, I never looked back. In October 22 I added the rower - free with a 2 year membership. Getting the membership details ironed out (I upgraded to a bike with a screen that came with a 1 year membership) took a few emails back and forth and will require me to remember to check my membership expiration date towards the end of 2023. Overall I am happy with the platform. I rarely have connectivity issues - probably because I have mesh WiFi in my house. I did buy an Echelon HR monitor because I can’t connect my Apple Watch HR monitor and track my work out - something I’ve seen written about here and on the Echelon facebook pages - first world problems. I choose to track my workouts because I get points for them through another app. The instructors are top notch with reminders about proper form along with a lot of encouragement. The instructors engage with the members on facebook and instagram - they’re real people and aren’t afraid to show their strengths and weaknesses. I take some classes because of the “counseling” session that comes along with moving my body and getting my sweat on. The facebook community that comes along with being an Echelon member is something I never expected. Encouragement from people I didn’t know - wow! And now they’re friends!

Great App
My review is for the App- it functions perfectly for me on the iPad and iPhone. Over the 2 years I have used it there has been improvements to the design of it. I never experience problems with live classes, or how it syncs to my Bluetooth headphones or heart monitor. You can search for classes on demand using the search bar and filter by instructor, style of class, length of class, etc. my only suggestion is to show in the description if any additional equipment is required like weights, it’s desperately needed in the fit pass classes!! As for echelon itself, when I originally had to reach out to them for a customer service issue they used a zen desk support system which was disjointed and disorganized. It left a really bad taste in my mouth and I actually stopped using the bike in the beginning. The community of instructors and riders in the fb group actually helped me get over that hurdle. The monthly plans are higher than peleton but to me the classes on echelon feel more personal and I have favorite instructors I like to “follow”. I tried peleton classes recently but they were kinda hollow or empty feeling, and I missed my regular instructors on echelon so I’ve been riding for 2 years now!

Just be careful with the free trial
I tried the free trial, but couldn’t get their app to work at no fault of my own. Never used the service. However when I got to the end of the trial they charged me even though i did not use their service. I called support multiple times to fix the issue. They could not help. Finally I talked to someone that was able to fix the issue and offered another free trial. Unfortunately by then I already knew I wouldn’t have time to try it. They said they would refund my money back but then I ended up getting charged for two subscriptions and did not get the first subscription refunded. It’s a little complicated so let’s just say I had a very difficult time getting my money refunded. I did need to stay on top of it but they ultimately refunded some of my $ back, but only after I posted this review. I am adding a star because I don’t want to bash a company. However I do think that they need to rethink the way they handle the free trial situation. If they coax you into free trials maybe they shouldn’t get your credit card information until you’re ready to subscribe. I probably would have subscribed, it’s something I really wanted to do, but with the service I received I did change my mind. Maybe the service itself is fine, but I couldn’t tell you. You can look at other reviews to tell that yourself.

Awesome product and exceptional support
After much research into the various live studio fitness bike/app combos I finally decided to purchase the Echelon Connect bike and accompanying app Echelon Fit. The bike arrived and was easy to set up. I downloaded the app before the bike arrived to play with it a bit and liked how easy it was to use. When my bike arrived I connected it to the app effortlessly and started my first ride. Within minutes the app froze and I had to restart it. This happened twice more. I made sure my iPad was up to date and had the latest version of the app installed, both were up to date. I contacted Echelon through Facebook messenger and about 10 minutes later they asked for my phone number. Minutes later I received a call from one of the software developers who checked everything again with me and the suggested I delete the app and reinstall it as it may not have updated correctly. Problem solved, now working perfectly! Support like this is why I chose Echelon over Peloton and I could not be happier with my choice!

It’s ok
I have had this bike for about 8 months now and the only reason I got was because I didn’t want to wait a month to receive the Peloton but starting to think the Peloton was worth the wait?!? My sister has the peloton and raves about the community and her friends. I talked my best friend and my mom out of getting the Peloton and getting the echelon instead which they did, I have requested them to my friends list and they are not showing up! Also, I hate the fact the bike doesn’t not sync up to my Apple Watch, yes I know I can download an app and it will work but I don’t want to have to download an additional app just for that, that is super annoying! Especially because I got the Apple Watch specifically for fitness tracking! We’re in the 21st century now this should be a no brainer! Whenever I start my Nike app workouts it automatically starts my watch, echelon let’s get on the same page!!!!! Please fix the friends issues and the ability to connect to Apple Watch!

Bugs, can’t even set-up equipment
Where do I start? Just got the bike. Created an account and every screen is buggy. Adding an account took forever. It said my account was already registered, which it hasn’t been. Then after doing it I see 3 profiles under my home screen with my name. When I signed up for a membership it said I had to select a country. I did select a country. Had to restart and try again. Tried setting up equipment and it’s totally blank. Can’t even select any equipment. Then after the 50th + restart, the app loads the equipment options. I select the connect sport and it tells me to select a store but another blank screen. After restarting the app, my phone, uninstalling, reinstalling, and even trying it on a browser I still can’t access the classes and/or add my equipment. Called customer service, no answer, had to leave a voicemail. 2 hours later and no response. I’m frustrated. I’ve never seen an app with so many issues. They should work all of this out before rolling it out OR have better customer service to assist. Meanwhile I just installed peloton, no issues, and can use my bike with that app, which is what I plan on doing. Just wish I could at least see my stats through echelon.

Echelon Connect
So I went out on a limb and purchased the Connect bike. I couldn’t find many reviews on this bike and I searched all the main platforms. Well other than the website.. I don’t trust those because it doesn’t allow the public to write a review. So I took a leap of faith and bought it. So glad I did. It is a quality product. Quiet as a mouse and all the features u need. It does have a few areas for improvement but I am suppose to be reviewing the app. I hope it gets better in time. The instructors are nice but don’t seem as energetic as those on the competitors website. The app itself freezes at times but many apps do that. It has not been anything major. My major complaint about the app is that it doesn’t track the stats of your ride. It tracks the classes you take but not the stats. So you get a summary of the ride at the end. I screenshot it and write it down. It’s 2018 the app should do that. Also it doesn’t connect to my Apple Watch. I don’t have a Fitbit, but that’s just a personal gripe. Not a lot of variety in music either.

Connection Issues
The app was great until the last update. I used to be able to turn on my equipment and the app would automatically recognize and connect to either my bike or stride. Now I have to go to firmware update and that is the only way it connects and stays connected until I finish a class. But as soon as the class is done, connection is lost again. This NEVER happened before. I just took two classes and lost connection before the second class started. I checked the workout under progress and had nothing. All zeros. As if I never took the class. I did connect as soon as the class started from a prompt on the screen and everything seemed fine, but alas, nothing to show for it. Another class I took was a boot camp ride class. App disconnected as soon as I got off the bike for the floor section and I could not connect back. It’s really devastating especially considering how instructors were asking during classes just a few weeks ago to “show some love” to the app developers for their good job. Now the reviews are flooding with high ratings while the real reviews are being drowned out.

The workouts are good but the app and website need work
I spent a lot of time trying to downgrade my subscription after I accidentally got more than I needed. This would not have happened in the first place of Echelon had a better breakdown of what each plan entails so I could pick what I needed accurately. Then, the process of downgrading was so ridiculous because the only options are to either cancel or upgrade. I had to start canceling before Echelon offered to downgrade me, and it wasn’t even to the plan that I wanted. I had to jump through a few more hoops to get set with the plan I wanted. As for the app itself, it is mostly fluid and responsive but it’s hard to find the FitPass workouts that I want unless I specifically know the name of said workout and can find it via search. It would be helpful to include a filter by what I want to work on that day (eg core, arms, etc). I would also recommend a rewind button for videos. I recommend the service but only if you know exactly what you want or if you can’t get it more easily with a competitor. It still needs a lot of work right now.

Cannot cancel subscription
Due to a design flaw that makes the bike unusable for short people (“raising” the handlebars makes them project further out because it is on an angle away from the Nike’s center), I returned the bike. And deleted the app. Mistakenly assumed echelon knew I no longer get owned the bike and maybe they did but after the free trial period, I began to be charged for the monthly subscription. Tried to cancel the subscription from their website but could not remember my password and their site did not have a password reset option (could change it but had to enter the old password before changing to a new one). After disputing the 2nd monthly charge, I found instructions to cancel from the app. I downloaded the app again and was able to log in. Found my way to the link to cancel and after clicking on cancel, got a message that says “we’d like you to speak to customer loyalty first” with a phone number. Called number and a recorded message said there were no agents available and to leave a message. It did not state what their hours were. Will try again during normal business hours for Nashville time zone. Should not be this hard to cancel. Seems like a scam.

Equipment is great..... app is terrible!
This bike was purchased as a Christmas gift from my husband. The app is TERRIBLE! I love the bike! Every time I’ve logged in and connected the bike to my iPad or iphone it shows I’m not subscribed, which I am. Then in order to access classes I’m asked to upgrade at a cost of $150 more per year than what I initially signed up for. In order to get the app to reload my subscription I’ve had to delete and reload three times on both my iPad and my iphone. And customer service.... yeah that’s terrible too. I sent an email on Christmas Day and have yet to receive a response three days later. I attempted to chat via the live chat on the app and that resulted in me having to back out of the app every time to send a response only to get the response that someone would email or call me. Still no response on that either. And please don’t send the response that’s sent to everyone else that it’s a Bluetooth issue and an update is coming. This isn’t a Bluetooth issue. I can’t even see the classes even when I open the app to view which ones I want to participate in even when the bike is not connected. Guess I’ll use the bike with the Peloton app! Ridiculous!

Highly recommend Echelon app, products and instructors
I’ve been a member of Echelon now for about 20 months and I love it. I use the app on my connected bike and on my iPad. I was gone for two months this winter so I used my iPad the whole time to do their FitBit classes that include weights, stretching and yoga. I prefer the bike though and use it almost every day. They update the app quite regularly and recently just added some new features that I like. After I came back home after two months I had trouble updating the app. I contacted support and they walked me through troubleshooting and helped me with a work solution to get the app up to date. I have really connected with some instructors and like being able to follow them on social media as well as others in the Echelon community. I will never go back to a gym again. Very impressed with the app, the support team and of course the instructors.

Echelon Connect
I bought this bike right before Christmas. At first I had some difficulties with the app, but the team responded to my needs and did a great job putting me and my wife in the right direction. I really enjoy the upgrades and the responsive customer service team. I’ve been using it for about a month, and decided today that it was time to write a report based on my accounts. I give them a five, not just because the app has been upgraded and works well, but because the team has been fantastic and receptive to our needs, and I hope that you are having the same response. Patience is something we all need. Sometimes before jumping to write something negative which affects people in a great way, take your time learn about it, try it, tinker with it, and then provide them with your feedback. For me, my Feedback is an outstanding customer service and product. A 10 even after a bumpy start! Thank you Echelelon!

Life Changing Bike
I cannot even begin to express how much this bike, the incredible instructors and the overall community of Echelon has changed my life over the past year and a half. Physically, mentally and emotionally I am a different thanks to the bike that goes nowhere! The bike itself was in incredibly easy to assemble and downloading the app and setup was a breeze as well. I ride consistently 6 days a week and my bike has held up tremendously. I encountered a mechanical issue only this past summer which I suspect was just from normal wear and tear from constant riding but Echelon took care of it completely by sending a replacement part and walking me through replacing it. Not only did it fix the issue but they also checking in to make sure that it was fixed. I recommend this bike to anyone and everyone I see! 100 percent worth every penny and I cannot wait to try even more of their equipment.

Needs A Lot of Improvement
This app needs a lot of work. The leaderboard doesn’t accurate present your output the entire time, and it also doesn’t move you to a new spot on the board as your output increases. The app also doesn’t save your stats so there’s no record of a “personal best”. Searching for classes is very junky - the app will reload and ignore the search parameters you specified while your searching for classes which is very annoying. You can’t change your height and weight within the app so the calories output is also inaccurate (not sure if this adjusts when you attach a Fitbit, but not everyone has one). The instructors are fine, they seem more like cyclists teaching a spin class than spin instructors. The drills are very basic and the advanced classes aren’t very advanced. Usually you spend half of your time in a spin class out of the seat but these instructors barely do that. You will get a good sweat but you don’t get the same motivation from watching an instructor teach a class. (These classes are done filming an instructor alone in a studio) You get what you pay for with this app and classes.

Good Product but App needs some Work
The echelon products (tread, bikes) are awesome. This companion app works but needs some work. During classes the app works well recording input from the tread. However, there is a bug where if the tread and app aren’t set to the same units (imperial mph or metric kph) then the app will record incorrect speeds from the tread and your speed adjustments on the tread will be way off. It would be beneficial for the app to warn you these settings need to be the same or for either the app or tread to act as a master. There is also a major bug where the data shown during your run such as distance, average speed, and average incline are recorded as 0 on your end of class report. This appears to happen when you stop your treadmill during the last few seconds of class to stretch with the instructor. These values go to 0 and you end up with only calories and watts in your end of class report. This can be extremely disappointing if you’re trying to record your progress overtime. Once these bugs are fixed, the Echelon system will be hard to beat.

Love this app and bike!!
I don’t understand the negative reviews. I purchased my bike from QVC and it has been everything they said it would be!! I started riding it March 1st and have lost 14 pounds in three weeks! I love the convenience of having it my own home and not having to take the time to go to the gym. I will ride 25/30 minutes in the morning and another 25/30 minutes later on. And sometimes if I have 10 minutes free I’ll jump on and do a quick 10/15 minute class. It’s sturdy, quiet and convenient to move from one place to another. And to be able to work my arms at the same time as my legs is a double bonus. The app is wonderful!! The instructors are very good, personable and know how to keep me motivated! I have my favorite classes but also try many of the other ones. I actually look forward to using it everyday!! Thank you Echelon!! I’d be lost without my bike and the app!!

Love the Workouts and Instructors
I’ve been working out with Echelon for almost 5 years. I started with the spin bike and recently got the stride. I am currently using the stride to improve my running form and speed. Echelon has great classes based on this purpose! I gave this 4 stars due to a few snafus with the app and connectivity. At times the app will update which recently changed my settings. I was left without being able to track myself due to the belt not collaborating with the console. I reached out to tech support and submitted a ticket yet they never responded. I finally joined the Echelon Stride group on Facebook and posted my concern. I received an immediate response from the community and from Jasmine who was a doll! My problem was solved thanks to the group. I do wish I received a response from support, especially if there are any future issues. For now I will rely on the group and Jasmine.

App needs work - bike is great
The bike is excellent and the classes are great but the app is simply awful. It doesn’t track your stats or any class you take if it’s not a love class. They just did an update so now when your in class all the info at the bottom doesn’t show everything on the screen you kind of have to guess at your cadence and resistance. There is a progress section in the app but has been down for maintenance since I got the bike 2 weeks ago. Their customer service team is also terrible, I’ve emailed 3 times about the app not downloading on my iPad and not tracking ride info and have yet to receive a response, their chat service is pretty useless because when you have an issue they tell you to email and that you’ll hear a response in less than 24 hours which isn’t accurate. I love the bike and the classes but had I known there were that many issues with the app I would have invested in a different bike with better programming.

Cheaper Than Peloton And It Shows
I’ve been using the app for a year now and regret not choosing peloton each time. The instructors are good but the production quality is mediocre. The on demand scenic rides are low quality and do not adjust to your speed. You might as well just turn the tv on instead. In the year I’ve had the equipment the app has had multiple updates and some seem to cause more problems than they fix. Examples: video stalls, classes not registering, and resistance not changing in the app. Customer service is very willing to help but is limited in what they can do. Basically you’re going to be told to unplug the bike and restart the app. If I could summarize Echelon in a word it would be “potential”. They have a great platform and capable instructors but the company seems to be more focused on expansion than quality. I don’t think I’ll be coming back when my subscription expires.

Bike is grApp, Customer support & 6 months free activation I paid for is a nightmare
Bike seems good, but cannot really use it. Spent over 1.5 hours trying to sign up for the 6 months free that was supposed to be included in my purchase. Echelon rep told me take the first 90 days and deal with the other 90 later. No thanks, not what I purchased. Would not let me speak to a supervisor. I phoned Walmart for help, because this is where I purchased. WM could not get the problem sorted with Echelon, either. ECHELON CHAT SAID, Send proof of purchase, after registering online, and entering my credit card, but still issues with the 6 month offer not working. After several emails and uploads of chats and receipt, 3 days later Echelon responds and wants my receipt again. In the interim, I had to again register, entering serial number, credit card, date of purchase, and now it looks like I have two accounts, both of which are of no value, because apparently I need a passcode I do not have to access the app and use the online classes. This is ridiculous. It should not be this difficult. I want to use the app and spin!

No way to tell level of classes!!!
UPDATE: How dare ‘Santo’ say he hasn’t heard from me! He most certainly has, and as I mentioned, he responded with poor information. Update: the updated version of the app seems to have no improvement for the rowing machine. Half of the time, the app doesn’t record the stats for the class I did, and the distance is SO far off. I emailed customer service and they told me there was a glitch, and to simply add a zero to my meter distance. That still made NO sense, and even reached out to an awesome instructor who confirmed that was not the way to fix the glitch. Customer service also did not address my issue with stats not being recorded. Classes freeze from time to time, and I’ve even had to restart a class. I can’t believe I pay for this! I just purchased the row machine, and am sitting here in shock as I try to use their sort feature to find a beginner on demand class. Click beginner, zero classes. Ok, click intermediate, zero classes. Advanced, zero classes. Expert, zero classes. It shows there are 131 classes yet no way to tell what level each class is!!!

Warning on Echelon APP and Treadmills
Once you connect the Stride treadmill to your Wi-Fi and the app it is almost impossible to disconnect from the app. You and your treadmill will be connected to the app for all of eternity. The challenge with this is that certain key pieces of information such as workout time countdown or amount of time you workout can only be seen through the echelon app. They will no longer be visible on the treadmill's console. Without the app your workout progress will not be saved. It is very annoying to see the letters APP in the location where workout information would normally be seen on the console/screen. Also if you do not want to use the app or you don't want the treadmill to constantly be bugging you to connect to Wi-Fi so you can connect to the app, you have to do a hard reset on the entire treadmill. This could mean death to your treadmill as it is dependent on connection to the app for required firmware updates. Your best bet is to just stay away from the treadmill then you won’t need the app.

Amazing bike. Great app. Feeling myself again.
To be honest, I don’t quite understand most of the negative reviews. I have had zero problems with my bike AND app. It’s so easy to use and setup. The on-demand classes are incredible. I never knew I could get such a hard, great workout in only 20-30 minutes. I absolutely love this workout platform. I think it’s genius how they were able to cut costs by allowing the user to provide their own screen (my iPad) instead of paying an arm and a leg for the full set up. I have had no problems with the app either. Again, I honestly don’t understand the other reviews and was shocked when I read them because I have had such an amazing experience with this bike and app. I love being part of the Echelon family. This bike has helped restore my life.

App isn’t that bad
Most reviews say the app doesn’t store your progress- it doesn’t if you don’t have a subscription. However, you can sign up for after ride emails (total breakdown of your ride) in the settings. I do wish there was more of a data break down (resistance, cadence, heart rate and output graphs). The Apple Watch connectivity is pointless. Other competitor apps have issues connecting to the Apple Watch as well. It’s a smart watch not a fitness tracker like Garmin or Polar. If you want an accurate reading, you need to purchase a chest strap 🤷🏻‍♀️. I’d like to see the new leaderboard, VS feature and the badges. I’m really looking forward to it where this goes especially with the newly acquired members during Covid lockdown. It’s a fairly new platform so there’s lots of room for improvement. All the other reviews try and compare it to competitors who’ve been in the fitness game for 5+ years.

Big let down
I was so excited about getting this Echelon Rower, but in the end it was a big let down. Now I’m stuck with a good piece of equipment that’s locked into this lousy app. The instructors are not very compelling and the camera angles and sets are dry as is the studio environment and music making it feel like they set up a shoot in some warehouse somewhere. The virtual outdoor content is equally bad video portly shot poorly lit. Warning!!!! No Echelon fitness products function without the app AND an active subscription. Period. They have made the app control all resistance on their equipment meaning that you can’t use their equipment with any other service unless you also subscribe to their service, which as I mentioned is less than awesome and quite expensive especially since Apple Fitness+ is out and is much better in so many ways and less expensive. In short if you have spent your money on any Echelon fitness equipment then you are locked into this lousy app and without this app AND an active subscription you have a really expensive and really big dust collector.

More than just a bike
In November 2020 I was diagnosed with a broken back which stopped me in my tracks. Black Friday hubby and I were out shopping and happened on the Echelonn EX3. After some research we decided to buy it. I saw that you needed an application in order to get the classes and quickly found a 90 days free figuring I’d dump it afterwards because there was no way I was paying so much for an app to ride a bike that goes nowhere. Needless to say I purchased a year subscription once the 90 days expired. You don’t just get a bike you gain a family of peers that don’t get any awesomer but the best fitness trainers as well! I also got rid of my concept2 and bought an echelon rower as the classes are the best! I definitely have gotten my money’s worth and would recommend it to everyone! You won’t regret it!

No VR LINK & Customer Service is awful
In addition to the poor customer service, I was very disappointed to discover that the Echelon does not connect to my VR system. If you have tried VR with a spin bike you quickly discover it is a game changer. However, the Echelon company has programmed their Bluetooth not to sync with any app but their own. The moment I can dump the subscription, I will. In the meantime time I have strapped a $20 cadence sensor to the crank and I am using my VR system happily. Echelon has been a disappointment from the beginning; the hardware (i.e. the bike) was fine but the software and the app was substandard and the customer service and the adaptability to VR has been a severe disappointment. If I had to do it again I would get a Nordic Track brand, if for no other reason than it syncs to VR and my Fitbit. Previous Experience: After spending 1/2 hour on the phone with customer service they were useless at helping me sync my tracker with the bike. This is one of the main features of the bike but it doesn’t work and the guy on the phone was zero help

App CRASHES
I really loved this app and all the classes that are offered...until the app crashed right in the middle of three separate workouts on different days. I don’t know what’s going on, but this unacceptable. How am I, or anyone else, supposed to get through a workout and track my progress properly if the app closes randomly and my bike disconnects. There is a problem, a glitch, a bug, whatever you want to call it that needs to be fixed as soon as possible. I currently have the latest update of the app on an iPad. I went to the App Support website and found yet ANOTHER problem. There are apparently no operators available in the chat to answer questions. Are there even operators at all?? When I look at other reviews, other ppl seem to get the same message that all operators are busy, and are told to send an email instead. Please hire more operators to answer our questions. There are probably thousands of ppl who own an Echelon that might have questions. TD;LR 1) The app crashes in the middle of workout classes 2) There are no operators to answer questions

Not really worth the money for the whole package
I have never used a peloton or an echelon bike. Just the stationary bikes you use in gym spin classes. So my comparisons for bikes and bike stat options is limited to 6 different spin classes and bikes that have bike powered or battery powered stat screens. The app only lets you do a free ride from a tiny button in the options section. The screen has annoying pictures of people in the background making it a very busy screen. The app doesn’t record your freestyle ride stats and so you have nothing to compare your rides to. The bike resets the resistance after each ride which means a lot if turning before you get back to normal base. If you play music from this app there’s no option for shuffling and if you exit the app to change your music is starts your ride time over. The bike and company itself could use some improvements, but not sure where to provide those reviews.

Taking a step backwards and sabotaged your marketing.
Two of the main selling points for echelon cycling, on demand and the scenic rides. A recent update deleted the “On Demand/Demand” menu choice at the bottom of their menu options. If you want to do a scenic ride, you have to scroll to the bottom of the classes, challenges offered before you get to the “scenic” option. Then you have to scroll right to left to find the ride you might want to pursue - but, you CAN’T see all the scenic rides available from this main menu. In order to find the scenic rides you have to use the search function, which pulls up all the rides available-but again, here’s another problem-you can’t “favorite” any of these rides. If you want a more specific ride based on duration, you have to include 20, 30 or whatever duration you want. Disappointed and frustrated with my purchase now. A month later and the app still doesn’t work the way it was marketed. MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT-FIND ANOTHER HOME FITNESS PRODUCT.

App use with bike and rower
I have been an echelon fit member since 2019 when I purchased a bike for my home. I absolutely love the community and the echelon app is EASY to use! It’s very easy to connect the devices to, track your progress with and explore a library full of workouts. It also has lots of options for classes outside using the blue tooth equipment like HIIT, yoga and meditation, stretching and BARR. The customer service and community that comes with these products are amazing. I also have been able to connect with echelon support through the app and Facebook messenger as well as email. The amount of echelon community positivity and the ease of the use of the equipment and technology is what prompted me to say YES to an echelon rower. I love both the pieces of echelon equipment I have and the ease of the app.

Great app, great classes
I was hesitant to download this app due to all of the negative reviews. When I started reading them, they all seem pretty critical of the app and the function. Everything so far has worked flawless for me. I’ve got an Echelon Rower, and use it almost daily. It works very well, stats are all displayed clearly and given at the end, and it syncs over to Strava immediately. I’m not sure what all the fuss is about, but it’s certainly worth it! Yes, the subscription does cost money, but tell me where you’ll find a similar experience for way less money? Exactly. The competition charges just as much. I don’t go to a gym because I choose to spend my money on a virtual coach and workout - that’s here! Great job with the classes and keep up the good work!

Overall decent
The app works great and I enjoy the workouts. I spent a few workouts trying out a few different instructors. At first the ones I tried had a low energy level or just failed to really motivate me during the rides. Then I found Nicole Griffin who had the right level of motivation for me and I found myself wanting to come back day after day. I do feel that for the amount of money a subscription costs that there should be a lot more features built into the app. These are the downsides I found: 1. The user interface is very basic. There aren’t a whole lot of search features within the app. The one on demand page is kinda clunky and still does a poor job of giving specific results. 2. The descriptions of each exercise are a sentence and not really descriptive of what the workout entails at all. Mostly cookie cutter explanations of the type of workout rather than specific to the selected workout. 3. It doesn’t read the heart rate off of my Apple Watch. The work around the website gives doesn’t work very well either and also is a little excessive rather then just work in that capability into the app. 4. The music is set to the workout. I would prefer to be able to mute the music and listen to my own. I would love it if I could just hear the instructor and also play my own music on top of that.

Unable to connect to app
Update: Thanks to John from the support team I am able to connect to the app & see my stats when I workout. I’ve enjoyed the workouts I’ve done so far & look forward to taking some live classes. I have had this bike one week & have been able to complete one workout. When I open the app it connects to my bike and as soon as I chose a workout I get an error that says “connection lost, tap to reconnect” when i tap the message it opens the window where I should Be able to select my bike but there is no bike in the window to select. I have emailed tech support and gotten no response beyond a generic “we are looking into this”. I have followed every trouble shooting suggestion with no luck. I could have gotten a decent bike for half the Price if I wasn’t interested in the app.

Good workouts, bad data
I’ve been using echelon for just about two years and greatly enjoy the workouts. I find the cycling classes a better complement for my road riding than using Zwift & a trainer. More variety, quicker workouts, and better results. That said, if you train using data this is seriously lacking. It collects information during workouts but then doesn’t save the results! For example, it will give you a current and average power output, but then translates that all into a Kj number that is meaningless to me. The export feature into Strava is embarrassing. I take a screen shot within Echelon and post it on Strava as a very basic workaround. That was before an “update” to fix Strava bugs seems to have eliminated it posting the workouts, despite being logged in and supposed sharing info. Extremely frustrating and a loooooooong way to go.

Could never get the app to function
Just hit my bike and was super excited. I downloaded the app and activated my free trial. However, I was never able to actually do a workout. The app would not save my birthday no matter how many times I put it in and it won’t allow you to workout without your birthday information. I tried to reach out for support through the app but when when I clicked on the support button it told me I needed an email associated with my account to ask for help. You can’t even sign in without an email and I was signed it. Also, Echelon had no problem emailing to tell my I activated my account. So I don’t understand what is happening. After reading other reviews I don’t have a lot of hope or faith so I’m canceling now and will use my bike with a Peloton membership. Unlike the confirmation email about activating my account, I have not received one for canceling, so I’m nervous I’ll still be charged.

App works fine
The app as a whole works fine for me. I use it on my iPhone and never had any issues. I do wish there were more descriptive class summaries. For instance I want to take an upper body class and then find out it’s shoulders only. Put that in the description! Or a Pilates class that’s like the third class in a series. Or a mobility class that is specifically designed for hinging exercises. Just describe exactly what the class is and the equipment! The music I’ll always have an issue with. I wish you can turn the music down and play your own. Another great thing would be being able to search by a hashtag so if I wanted to search for pass for upper back and shoulder mobility it’s be great to search “shoulders”. Anyway I don’t see the app improving much but I’m still using it since I have the bike.

Fantastic Concept
Your one stop shop for all your fitness needs. Great instructors and an incredible community. Thousands of classes available on demand and additional content added daily. Besides the classes for the bike, rower, stride and Reflect they cover everything from Yoga to HIIT. Live classes are amazing. App allows you to keep track of your workouts. Check live class schedules and access on-demand material, to include the playlist used. Train with coaches from around the world in English, Spanish, French and German. Overall my experience with this app has been positive. Like with any technology company out there, I have experienced a couple of issues. Nothing that will affect my opinion of the company or everything I get from the app, equipment and classes.

The holy grail of apps
I just ordered an bike the other day, have been checking out the buddy app and it’s kind of amazing! I have not used the classes yet as I am waiting for my bike, but after exploring it I’m so excited to get fit! I see a lot of people saying it’s not very user friendly but it looks very easy to use, transitioning between class screens and rides looks about as seamless as you can get. Haven’t noticed any lag during video (other than usual small drops as with any other internet app) For those curious I’ll tell you why it’s great. You can browse classes by type of workout, length of workout, and that is fun. If you want to do a live class they have all of the scheduled classes listed for the next 7 days so you plan which one works for your workout needs AND what time. You can sync it to your calendar so you don’t forget too! It has a very fun way of letting you feel like your connected to other people, either by making friends or seeing people’s stats in the class you’re doing. I look forward to using it and am so glad it is motivating. Will update again once I get to use the bike with it, but this is my -first glance- and hopefully it lives up to the impression!

App on the side with Fries
I purchased an Echelon 5s Connect bike 3 years ago and have been using it consistently since then. For those unfamiliar with the 5s, it has a built in screen, it does not support VR goggles, you can’t mute the music or the instructor, and the scenic rides don’t intuitively go faster when you are peddling at a cadence of 100 versus a cadence of 60. I tend to use the App for streaming Fit-Pass related workouts on my TV, or if I am really desperate, on my iPad in the airport waiting for connecting flights. Nothing says dedication like taking one of Ryn’s yoga classes in the middle of DFW. Did the App experience glitches in the past? Yes. Is the App perfect? No, but the classes and instructors help me stay fit and motives, plus it connects to my Garmin HR monitor without a single issue.

Echelon Connect Bike / Fitpass
I have had my echelon equipment for almost 3 years , all I can say is I never thought I would be into virtual working out but this is a game changer, from the interactive instructions, numerous pages ran by members of echelon and Echelon themselves, this is definitely a community to join. Having the luxury of the app on my phone makes working out so was especially when on vacations or in between car drop offs and waits for my daughter since I can sign right into a fitpass class and get the work in weather it’s on demand or live . If your still reading you need down load the app and sign up for echelon now no more crowded gyms east schedules and an amazing community!! Find me on the Leaderboad Buttercup NYC (real actual member )

Echelon Connect and Row
I absolutely love Echelon! Have had the Connect Bike for about a year and a half. The classes are fantastic. I liked the bike so much that I recently added the Rower to my collection. Love that you can ride live or on demand. The live rides are amazing you can send high-5s, smiles, or waves to others in the class. You are able to add friends and ride and compete with them on the leaderboard. When doing on demand rides you can also filter the leaderboard to find others that may also be riding at that time and send them a hello 😎 If you are away from your equipment you can use the fit pass option to still get a great workout in. I would recommend Echelon anyone who is looking to start or amp up their fitness journey!

Incessant Live Ride Problems
I’ve held off writing this review hoping to see improvements in functionality of the app, but to date I haven’t been able to finish a single live class within major issues. Today, over half way through a ride, the video and sound feed were lost, but the leaderboard was still active. Additionally, the feed had to rebuffed approximately 20x in this timeframe. A couple rides ago, I lost the sound feed. A couple rides before that the class never started, although the leaderboard kept populating with growing metrics, and I had to back out of the ride and rejoin with several minutes already elapsed. While I’ve been able to finish a few live rides, there’s always issues which are if nothing else VERY annoying. For a platform priced alongside far superior products, I’m very disappointed and regretting the purchase. At this point, I can’t advise others purchase Echelon in good conscience and am embarrassed I’ve referred so many thus far. Get it together Echelon...

App and content isn’t that great
I purchased the Echelon Sport from Walmart like many others have mentioned in their reviews with the understanding that I would get 6 months free with the service. I setup my account and had to chat with support to get the 30 day trial extended to 6 months. When creating my account online, I couldn’t select United States as the country until I selected another country like Afghanistan, then I could select United States. The classes seem ok, but nothing super exciting. Les Mills is a step above and I may try Peloton as an alternative one my 6 months is up. I really didn’t get the bike for this service anyway, but was hoping it would be a bonus with the purchase. One addition, can the developers please include an Apple TV app? I hate to have to have my iPad screen cast to the Apple TV. It’s an extra step and a pain in the A**. It can’t be that hard, it might take about 20 hours to built and test the additional format.

One month owning a Connect Bike
I always wait at least a month prior to writing a review. That way I get a complete picture of an app / product with some experiences under my belt. I can’t argue with many of the complaints written about the product and the app. I too experienced many of them. But with many of the app updates soon early December, it has improved the reliability of the app. Now 99% of my rides are error free, with rapid load times and no freezing. Recent updates include fixing the connection with Fitbit. I love my bike and the app and I’m now confident that the company is working hard getting through their growing pains and providing the best product and service. P.S. best portal to get your problems addressed quickly is through their FB page and community FB page.

Complete piece of junk
I purchased an echelon at costco and after two years, and constant failed attempts to update and fix the issue, my bike is a paperweight. Because the bike does not log stats or adjust resistance without logging in, the technical issues that prevent me from logging in, connecting to the network or connecting to the bike from my screen prevent any use whatsoever. Customer service is not good, they do not stand by their products or take responsibility to issues. Even when working, with fiber internet and a fast connection, workouts pause, freeze or reset. I highly recommend purchasing a different connected fitness bike that doesn’t require the use of an application to ride or adjust resistance. The app, although pricey, is also poor, subject to freezing and loss of connection. I believe the company is inevitably headed toward a well deserved bankruptcy and warn anyone from investing in a poor product or non-refundable subscription.

Use this App Daily
Great App that I have used almost daily for two years. I’ve never had issues with using on iPhone or iPad. Always synchs up to take either Live or On Demand classes. It functions well and no complaints. However…I do wish there was 1) more specific information provided in the FitPass class description (equipment needed, body part focus, Class #1 out of an 8 part series, etc), 2) a feature to show/mark which classes you have already taken and when you took it, 3) a weekly/monthly/annual mileage tracker recap in the calendar summary, and 4) an average heart rate statistic for each ride/row/class instead of Echelons Heart Rate Point score which I’ve never understood and not sure provides much value.

Instructors and bike are great, music and app not so much anymore
March 2024 update: Classes consistently freeze midway through. App update screen doesn’t load and the screen stays blank, looks like other people in the app have the same issue. If they could hire someone to better manage the IT, this would be 5 stars! LOVE Nicole’s classes..she is mental health, therapy and exercise all in one and the only instructor I follow on this platform. I have been saving her classes that have gotten me through tough times for the past 2 years and their latest update deleted ALL of the classes (she had over 1,700) 😢 The update has made the font size illegible on the new screen because it’s too small and the volume is horrendous. They removed actual instructor playlists that were amazing and now it’s all radio streaming which isn’t the same. I would love to see them bring back real music!
