Half the time you can’t sign in. I have had to change my password 3 times and I’ve had the account 4 days. Face ID works when it wants to. Majority of the time it acknowledges the Face ID but doesn’t log you in. Other times it does. If you’re lucky to sign in you can see how much you have left on your deductible, view ID cards and review recent claims.
Both the Excellus app and website are pretty bad. The app provides so little functionality. Every time I send a support ticket in about a problem with the app or web site I’m told it’s a known issue. I probably have at least 6 known issues and there doesn’t appear to be any interest by Excellus to fix them. Now, I can’t even log into the app any more. It says my plan is incompatible with the mobile app. I sent in a support ticket on the web site. Guess what the response is - it’s a known issue. Excellus is pretty much one of the few providers in this area so I guess they can choose to provide poor service.
This app is fine when it works. However, it seems to crash constantly when I attempt to view claims. I am using iOS 12.1 on an iPhone 6. I have restarted the phone multiple times and reinstalled the app. No luck.
Initial impressions are important. That’s where this app fails. Does not work seamlessly with FaceID. If you’re going to be on the iPhone, that’s essential. Turning on “Remember ID” will once, and turns itself off. Also, while my medical account shows up OK, my dental account is no where to be seen. That is probably more the fault of of the Excellus back end and not the app, but it makes the app less useful to me.
Four tries to login with the same username/password that works on the browser, four times I get a “operation failed, please try again” message. Then the wheel spins endlessly. All I’m trying to do is set up an online payment option for my premium, because the process on the browser also leads to a dead end. Y’all want my money or not??
I used to use this app it was very helpful in the past to see how close we were meeting our deductible. Now it crashes anytime I try to open it. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled without any improvement. Hope it will get fixed soon.
This app is still not fixed. What good is it if you can’t look for care around you?? It shows zero results for any type of care, no doctors, no hospital, no specialties - nothing. It’s like I live in the ocean (I don’t).
Been waiting for this app for a long time so I don’t always have to carry my insurance cards on me! I already have all my store reward cards and gift cards on my phone through different apps (Stocard and Gyft). The only reason I didn’t give this app 5 stars is because my dental insurance card that I have through Excellus BCBS is not viewable in the app. Please add this feature because I always forgot my insurance cards when I go to the doctor.
The cost estimator is not even close to the correct pricing. It's hard to even find the correct procedure. On my phone I can't sort claims by family member because the screen will not scroll. This is a big issue with a family of 6 and well over 100 claims this year. Also, with the latest update, I've lost the ability to look at individual family members' spending and how close any individual is to reaching out of pocket maximum or deductible. Very frustrating and not user friendly.
This latest version is a huge improvement. Finding information about my plan is significantly easier now. The ability to, right on the main landing page, see useful information about my coverage, co-pays, recent claims, and my member card is phenomenal. There is even a dark mode in the new version!
It is really great to always have an up to date member card with me. I no longer have to carry it with me or remind my husband to take it with him! And seeing my claims history makes it so easy to review what I owe and estimate my future costs! Can’t wait until Dental claims get added too!
Doesn’t save payment methods at all, so I have to enter my card info three times (once for each family member’s account) every time I make payments. Even then, it only allows me to add my card info about 50% of the time, forcing me to back in and out of the payment screen repeatedly before it allows me to do it. I called customer support for help, and they had no idea how to fix the problem. Couldn’t add a payment method to my account for me either apparently. Garbage app.
I choose how much I want to pay and what card to use but can’t make a payment because the submit button is off the bottom of the screen and scroll doesn’t work. It works a tiny bit and I can see the top of the button while trying to scroll, but it snaps back the instant I let go and pressing it with a different finger while dragging the screen up doesn’t work. Horrible app design, someone should be fired.
I was hoping this app would save me having to keep my member cards with me, but I'm getting the "tap to retry" where the member card should be. Although it's convenient to be able to check coverage and search for providers, this app is not more useful than the website without the ability to display my cards.
Many of the features are useful, however my insurance information such as my medical and dental cards do not display in the app. So although the app is useful, I still need to lug around my cards for proof of insurance. If this feature worked, it would be a five star for me. UPDATE as of 2-6-19 : the app was useful at first but it no longer allows me to log-in; always stating unable to complete log-in at this time or the app just crashes! Absolutely useless at this point!
I created an account on the app and it told me to verify my email. When I tried to verify my email I kept getting an alert that says that option is “temporarily unavailable”. I’ve tried to create an account both through the app and online and nothing has worked. I’ve had to call in to make a payment every month.
This app doesn’t load nor does the front page show even after refreshing the page. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app three times with no change. I’ve even called Excellus and they have no clue how to fix the app or even run it!! Waist of time to download. You can’t pay your bill or see anything except what claims are paid and idc about that.
2 sections day ‘loading error tap to retry’ and never load. It would be nice to have payment history. A BCBS representative said I’d have that option but maybe it’s in the section that isn’t loading?
I have to jump over to computer to pay my bill on limited of my time. Pro- show balance due. Con- paying bill bottom is block, won’t scroll down, no payment reminder. Frustrating. This app developers forgot to test on older iPhones like mine is iPhone 8. Please update it!!!!!!
Basic data on claims but nothing about billing and payments made or outstanding. Pages load but can only see half. Pretty poor app generally. Website isn’t a whole lot better either. Will switch next year to another organization I think.
I could not create an account. First, I tried to scan my card. That did not work. Then I said I would enter it manually. I could not enter the date. And I could not get past this page Do these companies not have any QA that tests their app. This is basic functionality that does not work.
It’s good to see the account, cards, claims. But I can’t make payments. That’s the reason I downloaded this app. It won’t let me save my card or add a card on the account. So still have to call the company to make payments.
Half the time it works to pay my bill and half the it won’t process my card and tells me to try again. Also the payment due dates and amounts due NEVER coincide with the invoices I get in the mail.
I try to log in as the app has an option for forgotten password, however I try to do the two questions and then it takes me to a blank screen and back to my homepage. Not sure if it’s a bug but this is the only reason right now I’m giving it one.
My password is very long. I use a password manager so I don't have to know or type my passwords. Disabling paste effectively prevents me from logging in. Also"find urgent care"always returns 0 results. Though a search on their website shows many options.
This app is without a doubt the worst app I have ever dealt with. I downloaded this piece of trash app because it is supposed to make life easier. Every time I try to pay a bill it throws an error and will not process a payment. Excellus should be ashamed of themselves for creating such a heap of rancid trash.
When you first download the app, it does not give you the option to create an account. It only gives you the screen to log on; which you can’t do if you’ve never made an account...
The section that is supposed to show the member cards just says “loading error”. Rest seems to work okay. Wouldn’t use it for payments directly anyway.
No option to finalize paying a bill. This app just lets you pick how much you want to pay and which card to use and then makes you stare angrily at the screen with no way to continue. Very unimpressed.
Doesn’t do any good, when you can’t register as a parent of three children, because you’re not an actual subscriber. Kind of pointless to try and have my 14, 12, or 6 year olds pay my bills for me.
How convenient this app would be if it worked. It shows me a “tap to retry” item on the main screen that never loads. It also shows old plan information. Excellus needs to re engineer this app.
When loading the app and using Face ID to login, the app immediately crashes. No matter what I do, nothing works to get in to my account. Has this been tested on the latest iPhones and iOS software?
In provider look up you can only search for urgent care. In the Contact us option it only gives you address of places to go to in person. Literally pointless to get....
It won’t let me pay my bill just keeps saying error. Tap to retry to load where I’m guessing the cards are going to be. This app has bugs that need to be worked out. It’s like a pointless app right now.
My iPhone is updated and still no luck. This app seems as though it would be helpful if it didn’t crash. When I log in....BOOM crashes!!! I guess I’ll add my insurance cards with the rest of the 50 cards in my wallet.
