Works just fine for me
Scrolling through these reviews you come across two types: 1-star reviews where people say the app doesn’t work or has some other problem; or 5-star reviews saying the 1-star review people don’t know what they’re taking about. I didn’t have any problems registering or logging in and the app is fully functional for me. So it appears your mileage may vary as to whether this works or not.

The app is frustrating and shouldn’t have a 4.7 rating
The app is ok for the basics, like looking at my benefits, seeing past claims, and finding a doctor. But that’s it. I tried the estimate cost feature and it just re-explained the benefits you receive based on your selection. The prescription feature is more troublesome because when I clicked to record my prescription with the “app”, a pop-up appeared and basically explained that any information you enter will be at your own risk and eyemed will not be held liable for any leaking if your personal information. Yikes! I’m giving up on the app and will use the eyemed website, even though I can’t log into contacts direct through their website; I have to open a whole tab to do so.

App and website
Between the app and the website at least I can log into the website. Even though I can’t check my benefits on the website which is infuriating. It’s crazy how neither the app nor the website fully works. Also the people who are going out of their way to try and basically deny that the app doesn’t work for strangers, It’s good for you that the app works but if an app genuinely doesn’t work the developers need to be aware of that. It’s also weird to say “the app works for me I don’t know what the others are talking about.” I can’t imagine eyemed is padding reviews but let the people who need help and have genuine issues actually try to get help.

Works fine for me
I just thought I’d put an offsetting review out there, because it looks like a lot of people had problems in the past. I don’t know if they’ve fixed issues but it works fine for me. I can see my card, benefits, search for providers, and I haven’t had any issues.

App doesn’t allow for policy changes or updates
I have changed employers since originally downloading the app, and after almost a year still can’t get someone who knows how to update the information in their system to get my new policy information to show. Every tab shows unable to show this tab with terminated policy. But when I call they see it on the company ends, which doesn’t help me at all. App is essentially useless. When most people rely on their phones to get information now a days, having a working app would be great, because not everyone wants to be extroverted and make unnecessary phone calls.

Glitching
Upon first downloading this app. It was fine. Could search for eye-care providers. A few months ago I was able to upload an eye script for safe keeping. Tried to log into the app and this where the issues began. I am on the IOS platform and do not have face recognition on but this app keeps doing the facial thing and saying my credentials are invalid. Tried to delete the application and re-load back on my phone. For some reason, the application was never deleted and I keep going in circles with it. Frankly, there is no ease in opening this app.

Simply doesn’t work
I have wasted so much time that I have now given up. I wish we had a say in which insurance we got because I would ditch this company. They know it is not working with many of us on IOS but somehow the app gets 4.7. That is laughable. Just read the reviews. Something the provider is not doing because the have an amazing 4.7. Part of that is because we can’t give it a zero. Any way it doesn’t work and if you can navigate the phone system to talk to someone you will be told I didn’t know we were having problems. Read the reviews from the last 6 months.

Awful app-GLITCH and nothing
My app would completely glitch out and show nothing after I logged in. So I deleted the app and download a new version, went to login. Login credentials were accurate and nothing. It would just spin and never get me past the login page. Not even an error message. Can’t see benefits. Can’t do anything on this app. It is absolutely awful. I even deleted the app once again and re-download it and again nothing. Login credentials are accurate and I’m not in the mood to fight it anymore. I guess that’s what they want you to do so you don’t use your insurance benefits.

Cannot View Anything
I have tried repeatedly to look up my benefits, the FAQ’s, and claim forms. Actually, I clicked on every tab there is and I get the message. I do not have access but yet I’m in my account and it has my name right there. How can I not have access to the FAQ’s? This is ridiculous. When I tried to submit a form in the contact us, I can’t even do that I’ll input everything submit and it tells me I need the following information when I literally just put it all in. That happened twice and I gave up. This app is so sad and poorly done. Y’all need to do something about it.

App is full of bugs
I downloaded the app so I could use it similar to how I use other apps for medical benefits. This app his RIDDLED with bugs. When I try to see my benefits it says “see benefits below” and then the screen is completely blank. When I tried to contact them through the app I filled out everything correctly but each time it said that I was filling out my name incorrectly. The app doesn’t even let you reach out to them for questions. Probably because they know that this app is NOT working. Eye Med, if you’re going to promote your users using this app, YOU NEED TO HAVE AN APP THAT WORKS.

Cannot view EOBs or dependent info
Normally when one downloads the app for their insurance provider they do so to view a few things: benefits, claims/EOBs, eligible providers for all those covered. This app does not allow you to view the details of a claim or the EOB once the claim is processed. You must go to the actual website to view the EOB. It is in PDF form there, so it should be available on the app and is not. I also find it ridiculous that the primary insured has to not only create logins for dependents, but cannot view their benefits nor claim/EOB under the primary’s login. This is just not exclusive to the app but the website as well.

not that bad!
I downloaded because I was curious if it was really as terrible as the other reviews said! It’s not. App loaded up my profile, showed my benefits and card, and even showed me some extra discounts for LensCrafters where I am headed tomorrow for my exam.

Avoid if possible
I found the app completely useless. I was able to log in once and have not been able to log in again since. Tried resetting password followed link and still can’t log in. It says contact us, so I did. That was also useless automated call with no option for help accessing the app to see benefits. Had to press 1 and 3 and all sorts of other numbers so I could get my benefits. I look forward to when Aetna finds another option so people can avoid this app. It’s painful to use. Should’ve been properly tested before being rolled out to end users.

Where the policy switch option
It used to have a function where I can get my benefits and other information by selecting g the policy in the app. I have a private plan and an employee sponsored one. It will only show me the employee sponsored one. Bring back the ability to link multiple accounts to the app switch back and forth between two policies please. So much easier.

It’s not working.
I downloaded this App because of course I recently got supplemental insurance and this is the Vision Coverage. Anyway I register over and over again on the app. You know it asks you Login or Register your Account. Well my information never goes through. The screen just comes back as MSG other. I really really wish the app developers would fix the issues with the app. It’s nice to have your Dental or Vision and Medical Insurance in app that remembers what a GUI is. And that is not the case with this app. Can’t even log into it.

App and website are garbage.
I’ve recently downloaded the app to check out my benefits and my insurance. Every tab I click on says I’m not authorized even though I’m logged in to my account. I’ve been trying for a week and no results. The website is no different. As I’ve read other reviews this issue has been going on for over a year. I’ve tried using contact us and it says “try again later . If I could give a zero I would. This is beyond ridiculous!!

The New App seems.... useless
Hi hello! As of right now the new app seems useless and nothing is working. I just downloaded the app today! I’m trying to find a doctor and when I click on option to do so nothing is loading. Try clicking on something else and nothing is loading. I downloaded the app on my other phone and the same thing is happening. Hopefully you guys can fix whatever is going on with the app! If I’ll have to call for something that could of been done through the app! Thanks!

“Invalid Token”
No matter how many times i try to reset my password, I receive the same “Invalid Token” message. I’ve submitted many requests for password reset. All links have resulted in the same message. I’ve met all requirements for the reset, still to no a avail. I’m sure I’ll just receive a “we are committed…we will rectify this situation immediately” generic response. Please fix this. This is not what i pay my premiums for. But the minute i stop paying for my insurance, all of a sudden-No insurance.

Why is the font on this app so big?
There are no settings to adjust the font size. I have my personal settings to the lowest size font available (85%), and I still can’t read everything on the page. And the headers are too low for me to read in landscape mode.

Confused
I gave it 4 stars because the last time I tried to use the benefit I could not. I went to Target optical and according to them my expense was going to be $100 less not using EYEMED. I got the comparison but I needed new glasses so I went with the flow. Let’s see what happens this time… I will find another facility

Just released today. Can’t login. Login button does nothing when tapped. Please fix. UPDATE— I deleted and redownloaded the app and I am able to sign in again.

Never has worked
After three attempts to register, including having them delete my registration twice so I can “try again” I still have not been able to create an account. No confirmation email has ever come to me. It won’t recognize my member ID but the last four of your SSN “never works” (according to customer service). I will not be using this app. I will just waste their time and call every time I have a question.

App Is Great For Basic Needs Lacks Support
PROs: The app is helpful to pull up ID card, to find a provider, to verify benefit eligibility, and verify co-payments. CONS: Where it is significantly lacking is the ability to pull up full details of claims. Also to toggle between covered participants (competing insurance offers an “opt in” function for all covered adults to be seen in one app session).

Horrible website and customer service
Their app is trash and the functionality of their website. You would think they are able to provide a useful website and tools but they seem to be stuck in the past. Their customer service is abhorrent. The suckiest part of all is that this is the inly eye insurance that is offered, if there is something else in the market, I will drop EyeMed in a heartbeat!

Too few retailers that accept Eye Med where I live. The ones that do won’t accept online orders therefore the travel and price would make it seem I have no insurance at all.

App is not fully functional
I switched from the old app to this new one because I kept getting a message saying “cannot be used by term members” on every part of the app. I do not recommend getting this app till it’s fixed but that doesn’t help me since the website doesn’t work either. Please fix your app and website so people can take care of their health. This doesn’t make sense.

App basically useless
Unable to login, so reset password multiple times with no luck even though I get confirmation emails. Face ID keeps trying to work even when it is turned off. Not to mention this is not a real app it is just the mobile site being presented in a web browser view. FYI even doing the password reset on their website doesn’t work.

Can’t access my account
I received the card through the mail but it asks to confirm receipt of the cards before using which I did via phone. Then I downloaded the app and it asks me to confirm my email address. It’s been two hours and I still have not received a link to confirm my email address. What’s worse is I can’t access my account because I have to confirm my email address before I can set up a login and password.

Terrible app design
The window displays at about 1/4 the size of my tablet screen and is just generally hard to use. I find it pathetic the developers ask users to contact them with details of their experience. Why not just ask any first time user to open it up and try to do something and you would get plenty of feedback on the spot. Makes me wary of Eye Med if they can’t even maintain the usability of their application.

Slower than the last iteration
Good job boys you’ve done it again. You’ve managed to make an even crappier version of what I thought was already the bottom of the EyeMed app barrel. Now I can’t even view benefits. Maybe fire the app developers and hire better ones. *cough cough that means you need to pay them accordingly and stop trying to undercut the people that create your interface.*

Cannot enter login credentials. Cannot log in.
Attention Developers: The latest app (ver 1.0.5) does not allow me to log in. I click the menu icon at top left, select “Log In,” and no dialog is presented so that I can enter my login credentials. Using iPad with iOS 15.1. Tried uninstall/reinstall many times. Note: The previous app worked fine, but it told me to delete it and download the new app.

Constant IT Issues
Both the app and the website are never functioning correctly. You cannot retrieve your ID card or in-network provider information in either of them. Seems like this has been an issue for almost a year by the looks of the reviews. Why has this not been addressed?

New App Can’t Login
I was prompted to download new app on my iPhone and after installing, there’s no way for me to log in. I toggled the biometrics and even tapped all over the Home Screen of the app, but nothing works. I turned off my phone and waited 15 minutes before turning back on. Still, nothing. I tapped the three lines and clicked login, but it just takes me back to the Home Screen. Help!!

They don’t support the app
I totally get now why they have such a low rating. This is basically only if you want to see your EOB. Don’t bother submitting anything here. They always end up emailing you and making you fill out a physical form. I honestly don’t know why they even have an app.

Add a barcode to the digital ID card
It’s ok, but I have a suggestion. I have to card in my digital wallet. It’d be nice if the Member ID was also on the digital card in the wallet, and also a barcode to easily share the information with a provider.

You can’t click on things
You go to view benefits and you have options below you can see but it doesn’t allow you to scroll down to select and click the green button to process it. The screen won’t move down. So I can’t even look at my benefits. This app is horrible.

Haven’t used this app in a little while but…
it has gone downhill. Last year everything was on lockdown so I wait a year to get my eye exam/glasses and can no longer see what it covered or what I rate. Now I update and can not see anything. This is pure trash. Get a new IT specialist please and at least give us what we had.

Badly designed app
The green top banner, which never moves or changes size and can’t be manually adjusted, covers up most of the information the app is supposed to display. I had to go to my desktop computer and log onto the website to see the full benefits in my plan. S*cks.

Can’t even login

EOB
Your sight shows me nothing! I want to see what was submitted on my claims and what was paid. Claims show me nothing. I sent email to you and asked for a copy and 2 days later it says EOB is attached and nothing was attached. It said I can go on your sight and can look at claims there but your sight shows me nothing. Bill Padgett

Just awful
I’m not even giving a 1 star rating. I had the app for less than 5 minutes and I deleted it. It wouldn’t let me log in at all Wouldn’t even bring login page up or anything else for that matter. Whomever is in charge of this app needs a new profession.

Can’t access bottom of the screen
The app will not allow me to access the bottom of the screen to change insurance policies. So, I essentially can’t use it because I can’t click on the policy at the bottom- no matter what direction I turn the screen.
