But what really grinds my gears is when you send me a “notification” on a story, I open it directly but can’t seem to find the story I was notified about. What should be happening is when I open the notification is taken directly to the story. That’s why I'm opening it in the first place. To read more on the “notification”. But no, I have to look for it myself and hopefully be able to find it. Take me directly to the story l opened the app for.
I absolutely Love Fox 5 NY News! I watch Good Day every morning - the 12 show and the 10 news! I love the app because usually if I miss anything I can catch up and watch my new there. But lately I have become so frustrated with every tone I goto watch live instead of NY local news some how I forced to watch live Now - all political news and not at all what I watch Fox NY for! As I school down I begin to see so many local station able to steam there local news but no New York! This is unfair! New York should have the same choice to watch their local news instead of that political rhetoric! Please please make that option available for us! I’m miserable and furious and missing my local fox 5 News!
I am so happy that I am able to get Fox Five NY on line. Even when I’m away i take my computer with me and I can tune in it’s wonderful. I am a former New Yorker and for the past nine years have been watching it every morning that I’m able, he keeps me up-to-date on what’s going on in the area and I feel more connected to the city. Thank you for making this possible I feel like I’m still there! One issue...on occasion the connection fails and my morning just isn’t the same!
Good app, but some of the notifications that come through don’t take me directly to the article when I tap on them, making me have to search for the story myself.
While the app is good as a whole to many times it shows extremely outdated news posts. For example you read a current news story and right at the bottom of the feed is another news story that when you open it you find that the article is over a month or two old and has no relevance to current news. If you want to keep readers engaged stick with news stories at least within the last 7 days.
I know the channel struggles in how they cover the president. Afterall Trump was a reality tv host that often called in the morning to speak openly about his opinions regarding issues with the city, state, and Obama. Although, he never gave any solutions. Fox5NYC local news and coverage is fair. Pre 2016 I would had rated it as good. I remember seeing Barack Obama get elected in 2008 on the show, and it was an intrigued me to learn more about the city. Post 2016 I stopped watching TV, and opted for other platforms.
Whatever this latest update was, now the app wont open. Also the update prior to this one was horrible. You couldnt swipe right or left through local news articles anymore. You could only click back which would bring you back to the top of the main page of “local” and you would have to then click the local area you wanted again, then s rill through the list of local news, then click the article you wanted to read. Then repeat.
Once you tap on to live you get the morning news. There is a pause in the feed for the local commercials but the news kicks right back in. Who needs your TV when you have the live feed on the go!
Font is too small and light; too many advertisements
Font needs to be a little larger and darker like other news (NEWS12). And too many advertisements randomly pop up. Other than that Fox 5 is my preferred news.
Nothing new here, I don’t remember this app ever working correctly. Today it won’t load video on a iPhone 7+ and it never worked on my iPod touch 5th gen or my iPad 2 and sometimes it won’t work on the web site????? Why I keep trying? I love the coverage and the news team so I will keep trying but wow could you please try harder, it’s 2020, streaming is NOT a new thing.

It always says we’ll be right back in the early morning before work. I turn on my radio and get Wins 1010 they ALWAYS have news sports and weather unlike this trash of an app
I thought it would be a great idea to watch news in the morning on my way way to work. Unfortunately, it is always freezing and disconnects live feeds. I watch more repetitive commercials than news. Needs work!
When I opened the app the platform was very unorganized and could of been neater. Also all of the articles were from years ago and nothing was present. I read several other comments also describing this situation. I would not recommend this app.
Compared to other Fox apps along with other news media apps, Fox 5 is the most disappointing app I have used. Fox 19 Cincinnati has updated the App this week, hope you consider the same.
