Love this app!!!
I absolutely love that I can see what my boys are doing during their day at pre-school. By visualizing their lesson plan for the day, it gives me an opportunity to ask them specific questions about what they are learning. Their teacher posts the book they read that day or the projects they worked on. Previously, when I would ask them about what they did at school that day (at the prior day care), they would typically answer with “nothing 🤷🏻‍♀️". Even though I knew that wasn't true lol. Now I can ask them about their sunflower seed project or the butterfly painting that they did that day. The app also allows for the teachers to send messages to me and my husband directly (items we might need to bring in, upcoming events, etc). I was able to see pictures of them smiling and running around on the playground with new friends, which helped me to feel more comfortable when my boys (ages 2 1/2 & 5) switched schools. Overall I am very happy with this app!

Major feature needed
I have communicated this to the developers: The 4-5 other care apps I have used have a sleep timer feature. One button to hit when a child falls asleep and hit it again when they wake. No need to edit in a sleep start time. In group care it’s unlikely you will remember exactly when each infant or toddler fell asleep. Naps also coincide with staff breaks at centers, the person in the room isn’t always the same person for the duration of a child’s nap and wouldn’t know what to edit the start time to. Or when a nap ended, if, just before the next staff came in. With the other apps, different staff can start the timer and end the timer when they woke, tracking it wouldn’t be tied to the original observer knowing when a child fell asleep. It’s time consuming to have to write this stuff down just to communicate with each other about it. The whole point of the app is to not have to write down care notes, and naps are a big part of the infant and toddler care routines. Also, you can’t seem to open any pdf attachments from smartphones.

Love this place! The ladies are so nice to my grandson and he’s always happy when picked up. I know it means so much to my daughter knowing her son is so well taken care of. However, fir the Grammy it means just as much! My first grandchild, which I’m sure many of you understand how this feels. And my first to attend Daycare! I’m very impressed with all of the staff and very fortunate that I’m able to see what kind of day he had at the end of the day. The pictures are just so cute and just the icing on the cake! So thank you so much for all your hard work and for the love you give to our special grandson, I feel at peace knowing my daughter feels at peace with her first child in your hands. God Bless you all, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.❤️❤️

A relief!
We were introduced to this app when our daughter started daycare for the first time. It’s not just how frequently our center uses it that makes it a relief, it’s also how easy it is to use. Before you download the map, HiMama sends you email updates, the same way you would receive notifications from the app. This is helpful to the slower mom’s like me that didn’t realize an app was needed. After downloading we were completely in love with the set up. I know some of my friends have used similar apps with their children but THIS ONE is detailed. It has been a relief as she has transitioned into daycare. I am so happy we were introduced to it.

With the exception of the name, this is a fantastic app
I know the name has already been addressed in a previous review, but I wanted to double down on that criticism. The intent may not have been to be exclusionary, but we live in times where parenting is a roll shared by a diverse range of people, not just those that identify as female. Other than this small criticism, this is a fantastic app and I’m happy to be using it! The name is my only complaint and I’m sure the creators can easily ignore it if they want. I get excited getting notifications and being able to feel like I’m in touch with my child at any point

It needs major user testing
It’s slow, if you open up a picture, it doesn’t open to the screen size but rather stretches beyond and then you stuck trying to find an X to close it. When you finally close it, you again have to find top of the screen or reload the app so it opens up where it supposed to. Sometimes you just get white screen with nothing in it and reload it for no reason. Actually everything in this app is slow, switching from messages to mane pads also takes forever. Very annoying. Today they’ve send a survey, second page (where they how likely you to recommend the app) doesn’t have a send or enter button, there’s no way to submit your answer after you choose the number. It’s like 4 yo made this!

Please, please rename
The app loads slowly and updates slowly. The daycare center instance of it only loads at all maybe 20% of the time, leaving the teachers responsible for trying again and again after drop off to get it working. ETA: another major miss is that unlike virtually every other childcare app out there, updates in the app don’t have times attached. So if the caregiver doesn’t have time/forgets to add the time manually, the update appears without a time. The whole point of knowing that your kid has eaten or napped is knowing when it happened, so you can plan the evening. Very strange that this common feature is absent. Also the title is ridiculous. Fathers provide a substantial amount of childcare, including being on call for childcare-related contacts during the day - the implication that it’s always the mother is archaic and silly. I wish my center would use another app.

Photo Subscription service charge
This has been a good app for my child’s daycare, however, this recent change to charge the user to download high quality photos veers away from the company’s mission statement and isn’t going to sit well with its beloved users. I hope others that feel the same way voice their opinion. If it’s an issue of hosting the data (according to the company’s response to another user’s review here), then why not host the photos for a limited time then purge the photos? If the company is looking for a revenue stream, why not offer something tangible like a print or canvas of the photo, partner with Shutterfly or something similar. I’m sure there are many other cost effective solutions out there that don’t involve charging the parents more money for a photo that a daycare professional took not a photographer.

Love keeping up with our granddaughter.
Having the ability to watch our granddaughter’s progress from afar is such a gift. We love receiving pics on the days she’s in day care. The app is appreciated, though it is a bit quirky for users beyond the parental version. There are times you get stuck on a pic and can’t seem to get back to the home page. Also it sometimes freezes when clicking on a pic and it isn’t smooth when using a phone trying to read others’ comments. Still the quirkiness is a minor thing relative to the overall value of seeing how our granddaughter is doing.

Wonderful Resource
My husband and I love this communication resource. At pickup, our conversation with the Early Childhood Educators that were with our day is now more anecdotes about what he did during the day instead of a rundown of custodial care. We can look back and get the answers we need about toileting and naps once we get home. Also, asking our child about the specific activities that are posted helps him engage in a real conversation and memory recall, where asking ‘what did you do today’ doesn’t bring much feedback.

Great app, one big flaw
This app is a lifeline between me and my kids while they’re in school. I love seeing their pictures and updates. Most of the app is simple and functional with one exception. The pinch and zoom ability for images needs some work. It’s all too easy to get “lost” trying to zoom into a photo to see more detail. Sometimes images close completely, other times the image gets stuck trying to shrink and I have to force-quit. Commenting on images is also tricky, and I have several times accidentally posted a partial comment. With a little work on the image interface, this would definitely get 5 stars from me.

Cannot download video directly from app and below average online support team
My daycare provider recently switched to HiMama for a few months. To be honest, I have not been impressed. The biggest inconvenience is that I cannot download the videos directly from app. I reached out to online support team, with question “how can I download the video from the app?”. The support team typed a long description on how to download photos from the app. I took a step back, read my question and response received. I was thinking... is this for real? I responded, “I am not asking for photos. I am asking for videos”. The support team typed back. “It is the same process”. When asked further, they responded, “you can only download videos from web browser”. Okay, it is not the same process then? When asked further if this is a feature himama will be working on. I was asked to email their support email address for evaluation... I sent an email out with daycare cced. So far, no one has responded. To be honest, as a mama, I am not impressed. I feel that I have been slapped in the face instead of being greeted as the name of the app seems to suggest.

Great app. Stop asking for my review.
I am reviewing this because this app literally asks me every single day if I am enjoying the app and I’m tired of saying yes, but don’t want to leave a review right now. Usually people using HiMama are busy parents who don’t have even an extra few minutes but here we are. In any case, this app allows me an easy way to see my child’s photos and keep up with her school day. I love that. I miss my kids all day and having this connection helps the day go by faster. Very easily used app and intuitive.

This app is the best thing that ever happened to daycare
I absolutely love the tracking, messaging, photo updates and supplies requests that the daycare teachers put on this app. It’s real time, it’s amazing and very user friendly. Getting pictures of the little ones at daycare makes me whole day when I’m missing them. Knowing how long their nap was, what they ate for the day and how much, and what their nap time was. It helps when you’re working all day and you know what you’re walking into at nighttime pickup. Best child app ever!!!!

I am a Grandma who loves seeing all you do with our Granddaughters. You should be proud of all you do to captivate their attention & to grow their experiences beyond the norm! I appreciate all of you who day in & day out provide a wonderful place for them to be. Thank you for loving them. It’s obvious that you do! I smile when I view each child’s photos at the end of the day before I fall asleep. You all have to be exhausted, but I’m sure it’s your “calling” & not considered a “job”. May God bless you all for doing what you do! Debbie Baker

Great App
My daycare sends me updates every day on HiMama. It’s easy to use and the reports let you quickly check in out what you little one has been doing. Obviously my favorite feature is the photos that can be posted but it‘s especially handy for infants since you can easily see all their naps and feedings which lets me know what to expect once I take my baby home. The messaging system is easy to use and the teachers can also add notes and supply request. Very much enjoy this app!

More details more consistent updates
I am a parent not a provider so this could be specific to how my provider is using the app. That being said it would be great to have more details in the entries such as comments in diaper changes and ate most of the meal and drink. Well what didn’t they eat or drink? Was it ate most because they ate no vegetables but all of the rest or did they eat and drink most of what was provided? Also, recently I haven’t been getting updates as often as I had before during the day. The teachers didn’t change so I assume they are entering information as often as they used to but I’m going hours without seeing any changes to the report on my end.

LOVE LILLIO (HiMama)
We LOVE Lillio. We don’t love the name change however. We liked HiMama better. I have told so many providers and after school programs to get this app! The company has grown so much, hopefully they don’t get too big because their customer service is awesome. Hopefully that doesn’t change. All the features! Parents love it! My staff love it!! I’ve tried Brightwheel-didn’t like it. Lillio is awesome! You’ll love it! It doesn’t matter if you’re a small child care or a large center, using Lillio is great! Owner, provider, mother

Enjoyable Experience
I love this app because I’m able to get updates throughout the day on how my child is doing and what activities they are enjoying that day. The teachers can share photos and videos with you, as well as progress reports. You get live updates on when they’re checked in/out, when they eat/what they eat and when they get their diapers changed. Overall, it’s an enjoyable experience and I definitely recommend this app four they cares and parents.

Great app
I don’t have much experience with daycare apps in general, but this one seems to have everything. The center can let you know what your child did that day, what their bathroom schedule was like, and even the activities and what learning skills they worked on each day. They upload pictures and the weekly schedule for the classroom can be posted. There’s also a message center where are you can directly communicate back-and-forth in real time with the center. I love it.

Missing a couple of things
I just started using this app and I feel it is missing a lot of features. My child was at another daycare and they used brightwheel. I find that app much better to see the daily report. It doesn’t show the check in time and when my son is checked out it doesn’t show at all and neither the time. Also, I never get the notifications. I already checked in the app and I have set up to receive notifications. I think there are still a lot of room for improvements.

App benefits!
HiMama has made staying connected with families so easy!! They look forward to the daily reports and photos of their children! They feel like they do not miss anything during their child’s time with me during the day! I am also amazed at how easy it is to conduct conferences and share developmental information with families do they may see their child’s progress! I love this app and I would recommend it to all who work in the early childhood field!! Thanks for this wonderful tool!!! Tammy

Good but with some bugs
A really useful app, but had some issues with freezing up and other bugs. Especially when you try to open a banner alert, it has trouble linking you to the app. And on an iPhone, the buttons/ interface don’t really fit. Like if you want to download a picture, it’s difficult, because that button won’t fit in the frame. Anyways, for all of those complaints 🙃 I still think the app is a really great idea. And I am grateful to be able to see what my child is up to at daycare.

Love this program
Our center recently joined the HiMama family and we love it. Our parents feel so involved in the everyday activities our center does. Our staff post pictures regularly of the class crafts, we interact with parents and we can know what children will be absent for the day. As a Director, I can see what children are there and class ratios even when I’m not at my center. It has become a crucial part of our center in a short amount of time! We love HiMama

Don’t like the update
I do not like the most recent update at all. It doesn’t always refresh the attendance page when I want it to and the icons on the bottom are way too big. If I access the child’s profile from the main attendance page, then edit their daily sheet, then go to something else, as soon as I hit the home button, it doesn’t take me home. It takes me to the last thing I did with their report. Please fix these!

The best!
Absolutely love this app. It makes communicating with my son’s daycare center so easy! The reports it puts together at the end of the day are perfect and ensure I don’t miss a beat but, obviously, the best part of the app (and my day) is the pictures and videos the teachers post in the app. I LOVE seeing what my babe is up to all day and being able to save some of the adorable pics his teachers capture is the icing on the cake. Wouldn’t sign up for a daycare that didn’t have access like this.

Upload more pics
As a teacher, trying to keep up with taking pictures through out the day, it’s very time consuming to not be able to upload more than 4 pictures at a time. Ironically I spend more time on this app instead of teaching and watching because parents want to see their kids. I personally would not want my kids teacher occupied with technology instead of engaging in the classroom. Can we please be able to upload at least 20 photos at a time? I know other school to parent apps have this ability.

Removing notifications
I love how the app allows me to see my child’s activities for the day! I’m frustrated though that even if I view my child’s report for the day (in two places within the app) and pull down to refresh, I still can’t get the notification to disappear unless I go back and refresh every day for the last two weeks to a month. Is there a way to just let the app figure out you’ve viewed the report in one area of the app (like All Daily Reports) and that removes the notification??? My OCD hates notification reminders :)

HiMama
I love HiMama for our daycare. It keeps us in touch with the parents and shows them what has gone on through the day. It really helps when we have to give breaks to other teachers and you’re in the classroom for the first time. You can see when they are last, when they were changed last, and what activities they have already done. There’s so much more to HiMama and it helps tremendously in our center!

Excellent APP for parents
The only thing I dislike is that you do not see the time stamps for anything except diaper changes until the Daily Report is finished at the end of the day. It would be nice to see naps and meals and when they were actually given. We base our evening on when our child naps throughout the day so it would be nice to have an idea of what we are walking into before we get her.

Great! Only one flaw
I love to stay up to date with how my baby’s day is going while I’m at work. My one and only complaint and the only reason I took away 1 star is that I don’t like that I have to wait until the end of the day (after I pick her up) for the full report of when and how long she napped or what time and how much she drank. Because if so sometimes I’d adjust the time I pick her up to not interrupt one of those things. Other than that the app is great.

This DAD says: Thanks for the name change
Please like if you are a DAD and are glad they aren’t called HiMama anymore !! I use the app daily to receive updates from our daycare. It’s reliable, and I appreciate that I can chose to not be notified about bowel movements and can be notified about pictures being shared. I have been bothered by the bias against fathers and men as caretakers, and while I love all Mom’s it is appropriate to rename the app.

Easy to use
Very understandable, multi use( can pay daycare). I have had no issue talking with my daughters teachers. Love getting photos through here just to see how my kid is doing. If I’m being honest one time my payment didn’t go through ( not my fault but the apps) but that might even be the daycare. Recommend this a lot if your daycare is on top of it. It all depends if the daycare is highly active on it.

Love Keeping Up with my Child at Daycare!
As a FTM this app is fantastic. I get tons of pictures each day of what my son is doing, when his diaper has been changed, and at the end of the day I get a summary about his nap and feeding schedule. Also can pay daycare bills through it and communication with the teachers and director without endlessly calling them or spending lots of time during pick up and drop off.

Wonderful app! Please fix download issue
Love the ability to see our grandchild through HiMama. I download some of the pictures and videos about once a month. After a download, I wish that the app would return to the timeline where I was — rather than making me start over from the most recent post. Other than that, great job and congratulations on creating an app that has provides such a meaningful experience for families!

We love it
Great app, we love getting the photos throughout the day and being able to download them directly. I wish there were a like or a reply functions so we can engage with the daycare team on photos. Would love if both parents could share one app and post as their respective names. I’m a dad. I would encourage a name change to make dads feel included and responsible. But I don’t really care. It’s a good app.

My personal experience
This is a great app for parents that are no longer together, I don’t get to see my child that much but I do get to see what kind of care I am paying for when it comes to my daughter, I love seeing the photos of her being social and growing character. Also being able to see her diet and making sure she is using the restroom is a big factor as well

HiMama
Being a dual military family it’s hard sometimes to keep connected. Especially when our little family is completely separated. This app helps keep mom dad and grandparents (who currently take care of our little one) up to date with daycare. I love getting pictures of my little one through out my day. And to know what he eats. And when he sleeps. It’s really convenient.

Worth it!
As a small daycare provider, this app is amazing! It saves me so much time being able to log almost everything in one place, on my phone. My families have all have great feedback and said they love it, too. The only thing it’s lacking is the ability to generate a master report on who did/ate what, each day, for the teacher. I would like to be able to use it to record meals, but I can’t, at least not easily.

Blurry photos :(
Overall HiMama is great. However, recently photos have been very blurry with zooming in. I talked to my child’s teacher and on her end the photos she posts are crystal clear. I noticed this about the time that it was announced that the upgraded photo service was available for $3/month for “highest quality” photos. Looking back at photos that were uploaded months ago, they are all now blurry as well when they were sharp before. This is upsetting. :(

We are very grateful for this tool as it supplements our infrequent visits and FaceTime with the grandchildren. Sincerely, Geoff Cooper (PopPop)

I love knowing what she is doing and eating every day. I can see that she uses the bathroom and it has been awesome to see that she now uses the potty all the time. One flaw
I really enjoy the interactive piece of HiMama. It is informative and helps us as parents keep up with our child’s learning. The only flaw I find is that when my child is checked in, I get a stay tuned message and the timeline says she’s checked in, but there’s nothing for when they check out until the report is sent. Please add a checked out function. At times we ask grandparents to pick up our child and knowing they checked them out is helpful

Great app for summer camps and daycares!
Wonderful app, makes check in and check out so easy. I only wish that there was an option to change the sorting order to last names rather than first names, and/or to add a search bar in the app, like there is on the website. Overall, love the app in concept and performance, and highly recommend to daycares and summer camps!
