Watch Live

Utilized this app daily for the “Watch Live” feature on my mobile device. I generally would watch the broadcast 3+ times a day to stay up to date on weather conditions and local news. The streaming service was spotty at times but overall worked fine and also would loop the broadcasts in between scheduled livestream which was great in case I couldn’t tune in or missed a portion of the newscast. The new streaming service is terrible and doesn’t seem to be geared toward mobile viewing. Why would the streaming service developed for A MOBILE APP not be designed for optimal MOBILE PHONES. Also, the newscast does not play on a loop, times out constantly and so far has only worked on a few occasions. Might have a lot of users switching over to KSFY or KDLT if this disaster of an app isn’t cleaned up.

World does not revolve around Sioux Falls.

News and weather are always more about Sioux Falls then all the other listening areas. The farther you live from Sioux Falls the less important you are. If you want more people to visit and come to your City show them they are more important as people and not just to come there because you want their money, that’s part of the trouble with people now they operate with greed, selfishness and not really caring for fellow man only how they can better themselves. The closer you get to larger populations the worse it gets. Remember everyone is just as important no matter how far from Sioux Falls you live.

Why did you change app?

This app use to be a lot better than this. It had more news stories and less adds. It also was easier to get to the news and didn’t have to navigate through the adds, which is a little overwhelming. Also, I can’t get the weather radar to open so I can see it. Why did you change it in the first place? It was better before.

Worst Update Yet

I use KELOLAND News app daily to keep tabs on the weather but since it was recently changed/updated the all weather applications want to revert to Hutchinson, KS. I don’t care about the weather in Hutchinson! I want my local weather info back. Settings has my location saved correctly. Sure hope I don’t need a weather update in a hurry because it would be to late by the time I get my location pulled up.

“Experts have discovered one simple trick…”

Ads, ads, and more ads. Also, the Keloland apps will beg you over and over again to track your location and other details to feed said advertisements. Just want the South Dakota info you came for? Have fun hacking your way through the neck-deep underbrush of malware advertising that these apps purport to provide. “Experts have discovered one simple trick…” to avoid all this nonsense: SKIP INSTALLING THE KELOLAND WEATHER/NEWS APPS ALTOGETHER!!!

Horrible

Trying to use this app is comparable to being in a dark basement with someone else holding the flashlight. Difficult to maneuver and find the news you are looking for. If you hit ‘read more’ you will have to wait a long time for the rest of the story to open in a new screen. It is the ultimate frustration when you just want to catch up on local news. Don’t waste your valuable time on this one!

Updates are terrible

The recent updates to the app make it a disgusting app to use. Everyone associated with these updates should be shown a path to a new profession. This app used to be a user friendly and intuitive news site. Now it is a disgusting source of ridiculous pop up screens and it is difficult to navigate. And the disappointment continues - worthless app.

Real News

We live in Rapid City but enjoy the KELOLAND news so much. The news is always given so professionals. Keep up the excellent work.

Web site superior. Alerts interfere.

I agree with others who have reviewed this app. The app used to be better. It’s difficult to get news stories, and the notifications interfere with using a smart phone. Even though I have notifications turned off for KELO, I still get them just as I’m tapping on another app to start. Looks like I need to delete the app.

Crashes frequently

The app has good content but it crashes frequently and needs to be closed down in order to be able to be used again. I keep the app (and my phone) updated and this has been a persistent problem.

Radar is glitchy

I like to look at the radar to track the direction of thunderstorms, many times it doesn’t load properly or it only shows a couple seconds of video, not enough to see which way a thunderstorm is headed.

News updates

I removed getting updates on my phone From KELOLAND because they were too depressing, with crime updates on nearly every one! I don’t know if I would want to live in Sioux Falls.😢

Ok, but . . .

App is ok, but would be nice if it didn’t stop all other audio you are listening to when you open it. Sometimes (most of the time) I just want to read the news and not listen to the reports.

Get kicked out or it freezes

This used to be my go too app for local news. Now all it does is freeze up or kick me out when I try and read news stories. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled several times and it still does not work.

Disappointed w/ your new radar

The old one gave of future radar for the next 4-6 hours. Now, all it is is present radar.

Not “improved”

Badly designed and poorly executed website. It’s hard to navigate. The news stories used to be in an “at-a-glance” list and now I have to wait for them to be fed to me. I don’t like it at all.

More coverage

You only cover Sioux Falls. I don’t live in Sioux Falls. I live west of the river. Can’t get any local news. When I’m traveling I use the app to check on road conditions and events.

The old app was great. The new app is lacking so much info, especially on the weather. Gone are the hourly temps and conditions and weather stories.

I am more and more dismayed by the choice of what is reported as news. There is a lot of South Dakota and it is not just Sioux Falls that gets coverage.

KELOLAND only services Sioux Falls. If you want to know anything about the surrounding areas, check somewhere else. KELOLAND does not report on anyplace other than Sioux Falls.
