This is a great app but long term it will present a challenge because the meal options are limited. They become repetitive within a few weeks. I don’t mind eating things I like on a regular basis but some additional options added on would help with variety. Some Recipes with cauliflower in them, especially as a crust for a pizza, for instance, would be nice if they meet the requirements. Also, a feature that would let me build a meal and see its micronutrients balance would be nice. Five stars would come if the recipes would expand.

Needs work

I went ahead and subscribed to this app for six months, but I wish I had tried out the app first. It's hard to log food, logging my exercise results in a double entry on Apple+. I wish I could just enter numbers instead of being forced to scroll. I can't find out what things like "quinoa salad" contain so I can't judge which selection is most correct to what I ate for dinner. I can't enlarge the page to full screen on my iPad, which is annoying because it would work better for me if I could. It's not the worst health app I've ever used, bit it is definitely on the lower end of the list. I likely won't renew. Update: I've been using the app for about a week. I'm taking off a star. This app is ridiculously difficult to use. Worse, it freezes up all the time. The inability to enter custom numbers is a huge problem. The app is awkward and clunky, and fully half or more of what I log is likely inaccurate because there is almost no customizing available. If I was simply dieting, this wouldn't be a huge problem (although annoying nonetheless), but I'm using this app because I'm prediabetic, and accuracy is vital. I'm not getting what I need out of this app. I'm moving on to something else. Two stars is generous.

Don’t Waste Your Money

UPDATE: the developers sent me an email telling me that they were sorry that I had the experience that I had. They also said, “We do offer refunds for initial charges within the first 24 hours” This was simply not true. When I contacted them just a couple of hours or so after I downloaded the app, they replied that they don’t give refunds. After I filed the dispute, they offered half of the price back. This was not acceptable. I am STILL not happy, but I had to take what I could get and count my losses. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY I was a customer for a few hours before I realized this app was not for me. I contacted them, and they were gracious; however, they would not refund my money. I filed a dispute via PayPal, and they offered to give me half of my money back, even though I had only used it for a couple hours. to me, it was not user-friendly. It was hard to navigate. It did not give me the meal choices that I thought it would give. I decided to close out the resolution and take half of my money back because that’s all they would give. I would not recommend that you purchase this unless they give you a free grace period to determine if you liked the app or did not like it.

App is not user friendly

I consider myself pretty technically savvy but in this case the app has thrown me for a loop. It is not user friendly or customizable. I tried to customize my water bottle size which hold 37 ounces and the highest radial button you can use is 33.8. Why make it a fixed number? Why not use a scroll wheel or a blank text box so users can put their own ounces in? Why use such weird amounts anyway; 5.1, 8.5,11.3, 16.9, 25.4, 33.8 ounces? In recording food, for instance romaine lettuce it only allows up to 5 leaves or 5 cups. I used 15 leaves. It was a big salad! All in all I’ve only used the app for a few days and it’s very hard to input your own food. I won’t use it if it takes me an hour to log in a meal. Not impressed. I paid for a 6 month subscription and asked for a refund on the 4th day. The customer support which is only via email or chat told me no refunds beyond the first 24 hours. Don’t buy this app unless you try it first on a trial. A mistake I won’t make again.

PLEASE READ ALL REVIEWS BEFORE PURCHASE

The website itself will automatically point you to the application after you purchase, this is very very bad business. Please read all of the reviews before you decide to purchase this application and the products that they offer I made the mistake of not reading these reviews before I purchased or even download it. I did not receive any of my account login until well after I purchase the product almost 24 hours later and then when I asked for a refund they denied me, and then I wrote back again, explaining that I didn’t use the services or products, they only allowed me half of what I paid for. Their processes are faulty. Their customer support has zero integrity. I would highly suggest that you go somewhere else. Too many problems for such a menial company.

Terrible Customer Service

Be careful if you need to contact customer service. I contacted support to let them know I was having trouble with the app after installing an iOS beta. Without asking me, Klinio cancelled my account and refunded my payment. Now I no longer have any access to the meal plan that I have already spent significant amounts of money on the groceries to cook the food with. I contacted customer support to ask why they cancelled my account and they told me that it was because the problem I was having was from iOS and not the Klinio app. I have multiple devices that I could use to access the app but Klinio decided to cancel my account instead. I recommend keeping any feedback or support requests to yourself or you risk having your account cancelled as well. <

Needs way more recipe choices

The app works well and is user friendly for sure. However, it is way lacking in recipe choices. This could be the best diabetes food management app on the planet if they worked on adding meal/recipe options. When you want to swap a meal, you only get a handful of choices. To make matters worse, you get the exact same swap options every day with no variations. Invariably, there will be 3 or 4 of the 10 or so options that you don’t like and that leaves you repeating the same meals over and over. I paid for 3 months ,so, I’ll use it. I won’t renew if they don’t make great progress in adding meal options.

Klinio a great healthy eating App

Since discovering Klinio in January this year have lost 33 pounds in 6 months. Healthy prediabetic eating plan which I would recommend highly if you are needing to eat healthily. My only wish is that I’d like to change my current meny like was possible at the beginning . The App is easy to use and tracks all the important things like water blood sugar if you take it. Many combinations of food to choose from it has worked well for me. You do need to exercise and keep moving. I am very happy with my progress it is an ongoing project.

Near perfect - a bugs linger months after

The app is solid in what it delivers, giving good food plans and great recipes. Albeit lengthy to make said recipes or some are costly, but still. That not why I docked it 1 star. My issue is the meal plan amount. For the life of me this app refuses to allow me to have 3 meals and will only let me have 5 meals per day. I contacted customer care, updated IOS, uninstalled and re installed the app. Nothing works. This has gone on for months. While they are improving the app this still remains unaddressed nearly a whole year later. For that I have to give it 4 stars. A small suggestion, account for less than 3 meals like 2 or have a setting for meal plans to account for folks who fast. I now only eat 2 meals, hence why 5 meal plan I was stuck on was irksome. However, to the reader, the app is worth it otherwise.

Amazing for beginners

I was diagnosed just 10 days ago and got the app the day after. I have always struggled with past diets because of the plethora of ingredients in recipes. It was overwhelming. This app gives you simple recipes and ingredients. They are so delicious. Also in just one week, I am down 5 pounds. Yesterday, on the third day of my glucose readings, I was down to 110 (from 152.) Also there are readings and videos to add knowledge for newbies to diabetes. These have been immensely helpful. Very happy with this purchase.

Prediabetic Perspective

I’m trying to prevent full blown Type 2 diabetes and adding another prescription med to those I’m already forced to take. This program gives me dependable readings for carbs, calories, protein and fat, plus an extra-calories add-on for any number of exercises. One feature I really like: when I create a meal and calculate the calorie/carb/protein/fat components and plug them in, the program remembers my meal and its readings so I don’t have to do laborious data re-entries every time I prepare that meal. 👍

This app costs $35 PER MONTH

I did not see this pricing anywhere when I signed up for a trial, so imagine my surprise when I got hit with $35 charge and it was noted that it was for one month. Within 5 minutes of seeing the charge, I canceled the subscription and wrote to Klinio to have the $35 refunded - which they refused to do. However, I did receive a separate email offering me 36 months - for a total of $99. Sounds like a great deal since 12 months would cost $420, right? But this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth so I’m not really in the mood to give you another payment. Apple should require transparently and make app disclose their full pricing in their description on the App Store.

Not a terrible app but needs improvement

Can be glitchy, also hard to modify entries and would be nice if I could search for my own commonly logged food entries when I want to log them off areas of scrolling all the way through to look for them.

Not helpful plus watch out that you unsubscribe to each little component to avoid auto charge

This is pretty much everything I hate in an app. Sign up andcthey immediately try to upsell you. Unfortunately, I must have accepted an upsell. When I cancelled the app very quickly after purchase, I must have missed the spot to cancel the upsell part, so here I am a year later being charged for that renewal. I didn’t find this helpful at all as evidenced by my quick cancellation, and while I knew I was stuck paying for the year, the renewal of the upsold part should be removed. But rules are rules, so they got me. Do not recommend the service offered or their policies.

Had to give one star

**Update** The developer contacted me again and refunded the charge. Beware of the automatic renewal! I haven’t used the app for over a year. I found it overly complicated and user unfriendly. Even when I tried using it I only did it sporadically. I deleted the app months ago. I was only reminded of it when my credit card flagged it as fraudulent. Most services that automatically renew tell you ahead of time that it is happening; not Klinio. I have disputed the charge and it will not be paid. When I contacted customer service they basically told me that I’m out of luck. Lousy app, lousy customer service.

Subscription Warning!

Be very careful with the subscription renewal! Unlike any of my other apps that have subscriptions, Klinio does not give you a heads up of your upcoming renewal. If you aren’t on top of things and cancel the subscription in time, they will not refund it to you. At worst this process is fraudulent and at best deceptive! Be warned! Got a response to this post that “the subscription is visible in the app”. This is laughable! 1) it’s buried in the settings! 2) assumes you are using the app! This response points out the lack of understanding and their deception, especially given no refund given!

Canceled and still trying to take my money

I canceled with you months ago!!! I have email receipts from you stating i canceled the subscription! It even shows canceled when I looked at the subscriptions yet today I noticed a charge FROM YOU AGAIN! Luckily my bank knows the issue and seems to have reversed it! Stop trying to steal my money! 1 star because I HAVE to click a star. Don’t get this app. I officially deleted my account today so maybe, just maybe, you’ll lose my bank account information! STOP TRYING TO TAKE MONEY FROM MY ACCOUNT!!!!!!!!!

Great program!

I was very surprised that Klinio is so sophisticated! There are many tools to use to record your meals and they like to track your sugar rate and your weight. They do analysis of the food you’re eating as to how beneficial they are and what areas you’re missing. This program is really incredible!

Watch out for the lower price trial period

Be careful and realize that when the trial For the lower price is over, you will be hit with a regular monthly fee. I tried one week at a low price to see if I liked it. I did not pay attention to the renewal date and was hit with the $35 monthly charge. There is not a way to undo the charge. I figured out how to unsubscribe, but have to deal with an unwanted charge. Know what you’re getting into and the timeframe for renewal.

This app has really helped me stay motivated

With all the tracking I need having it in one app is great. But what really sold me were all the recipe's I found and with a push of a button had a full shopping list. I followed it to a tee and lost 6 pound in a healthy purposeful way, in one week.

So close to being great

This app is such a great idea and is set up well, but recipes call for unhealthy ingredients like canola oil and soy protein. For an app that is supposed to help people be healthier it’s very disappointing to see an inflammatory oil like canola in the recipes. I’m a physician and was hoping to be able to recommend this app to my pre-diabetes and diabetes patients, but I would not recommend because of this. I hope Klinio will edit their recipes at some point and fix this issue.

Total Waste of Money

I would give this zero stars if possible. This subscription is a total waste of money. The second you purchase a subscription, you receive ads to purchase add-ons and supplements. The “customized” meal plan is NOT customized at all! It had foods I said I won’t eat. Further, it’s not diabetic-friendly! My blood sugar would spike if I followed it. There is NO customer service at all! Even PayPal couldn’t get them to respond. Do yourself a favor and save your money and your health.

Love the app

Just need to figure out how to pay for it. I love all the data it gave me. Lost over two pounds on the trail. It really helped to see what I was eating and burning. Just need to change my method of payment but was told I couldn’t change it. Sad🥲

Love This App

It’s so convenient to have a menu, breakfast, and dinner prepared for you. I like the shopping list which you can just use from your phone. The one thing I think would help is to list the sugar content of the meal item.

Do not purchase

What we thought would be a good app for my mother who is 86 years old a turn about to be a worthless app and a worthless company - we requested a refund and company said no- my mother - just did not understand the app - we purchased this app just last weekend and thought we would give us/her a few days to see if she could get use to it! Well she didn’t- do not buy this product/app - taking money from the elderly

Beware! Cancelling this app is difficult

It auto renews which is common. But they bill quarterly. I thought I had cancelled my subscription in the app. Then I deleted the app. Three months later I was charged $54. I immediately reached out and they said the best they could do was a partial refund. Contact them directly if you need to cancel don’t assume what is provided in the app will actually work.

Refund

It is pretty much impossible to get a refund if you misunderstand and delete your subscription. I had it for 1 day, and realized that I wouldn’t use it. This is what they said when I asked for a refund. “ Unfortunately, we are unable to locate your account. If you previously deleted it via the app, we won't be able to access any data associated with the profile and provide further assistance.

SCAM

Don’t waste your time or money. This is a complete racket. It appears to be a helpful app for those with diabetes but it’s just a ploy to take your money. You basically have to buy anything that could be the least bit helpful, even after paying $60+ for the subscription. And of course, no refunds. And they don’t notify you when they renew so you get charged a second time for an app that is a worthless.

Very sub par

The food list is NOT extensive and I would have had to manually enter literally every meal. I only had the app 24 hrs, so I emailed and explained that I wanted a refund bc I don’t like the app. They said no. That I had cancelled my subscription and i could use the app til the 3 month trial was over. I don’t even want to try bc it’s a big hassle entering every thing manually. I just want my money back and they refuse to give it to me.

Beware

They renewed the subscription with no notice, and when I told them I no longer wanted it, they cancelled my future subscription without giving a refund for the current renewal that I did not want. Make sure you track when your subscription expires and make sure to cancel beforehand. Better yet, don’t purchase it in the first place. This app is not worth the money.

Disappointing

The app is difficult to use. Logging food is awkward with the measurements available. It is very focused on blood sugar, so if you don’t monitor your blood sugar daily this is not the program for you. The only fitness tracker it seems to connect with is FitBit. I have not figured out how to connect with my Apple Watch. Compared to other diet apps, like WW, it just doesn’t measure up. I regret my purchase.

Meal tracker help

Needing to go shopping for the week and every time I look at the app it keeps saying generating meals and nothing pops up. How long does this usually take to generate? May just request a refund. Went ahead and payed for 6 months but I should have read the reviews first.

Was excited to the meal plan. App is easy to use and very user friendly. But the actual recipes are minimal with very little flavor. Some have very few recipes and are just ingredients on a plain. Being on a weight loss journey doesn’t have to be morning. Steamed chicken and streamed vegetables isn’t something I need to pay to have a meal plan to make.

not impressed

The app is not very user friendly. I am in the US and so many foods aren’t an option. I get the “oops something went wrong” thing all the time. It’s had to navigate and paying for it was way to much money. I wish I had researched it more. I thought i was getting the My Diabetes App , maybe that’s the problem. I would love to be able to get my money back.

I wish I had read the reviews first. I signed up via an email. This app is not user friendly at all. And they keep trying to sell add ons. I have asked for a refund. Because I just signed up about two hours ago. I will update how that goes. Doesn’t sound promising from earlier reviews. The idea behind the app is great. The execution and experience are horrible.

Cancelled immediately and refusing to refund

I cancelled the subscription a few minutes after download and reached out three times to the company, they have refused to refund my money. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Their terms clearly state that a full refund is given within 24 hours, and they refuse to abide by these terms. Following up with my bank and the state Attorney General. These people are thieves.

Not Stable

I used this app for two days with no problem. Now the app won’t open and is fixed on a white home screen with a K in the middle reached out to tech-support. They recommended that I change my password,while I don’t agree with this I went ahead and did it anyway and still have the same problem. Seems to be a waste of money

Almost Scammy

At first glance this app lacks any sort of guidance and the user interface lacks fit and finish. I have seen and used much more sophisticated apps and I am totally unsure how or where any weight loss will come from. There isn’t an obvious carb and nutritional counter and I almost thought it was a scam. Thanks

No notice before renewals—read the fine print

Beware the agreement: the auto-renewal clause states you will not receive a notification before renewing, and if you try to dispute the charge after the fact, they will use the agreement to prevent a refund. UPDATE: Transparency and enhanced communication would include a notification before renewal.

Generic recipes

Less than 6 hours after opening the app, the recipe choices was lacking variety and appeared generic. It didn't seem customized as promised. Then after contacting the support, they refused a refund. I think this company deserves investigation and possibly a class-action lawsuit.

Canceling Subscription

I have tried to manage my subscription and cancel but your app keeps telling me it’s in error therefore not allowing me to cancel. You can’t even use the website portal to manage. I tried to contact someone and no luck. I do not want to keep getting charged $33 for an app I’m not using

Deceptive auto renewal

Didn’t remind of renewal. Hit my account and same day I tried to get refund. They refused. On top, not good app. Use zoom if you want to pay for something-SO much better (but also be careful of auto renewal). Don’t wast your money on purpose then don’t let them steal it. And I did ask for refund (day if) and they refused.

I tried to login without success and received no confirmation email. I have a charge on my account but CS is unwilling to help by looking up my info without the confirmation info contained in the email…. Which I don’t have. All I can conclude is the company is fraudulent.

Don’t recommend this app

I got this app and it was extremely difficult to maneuver around and it didn’t do a couple of key points for me. They charge you $30+ a month and they barely even provide help that is actually helpful!!! Don’t do it!! You will regret it!!

I registered for subscription without understanding how this program works! I was charged immediately 66$ to my credit card , but realized it was not a good fit for me ! I canceled my subscription the following day, but they will not refund my $ 66 . ☹️ Rippoff ! I have copy of subcription , email confirmation but refused refund !

Don’t buy

This app is not user friendly! I have to log out and back in every morning to get it to reset to zero. After I have saved a meal it may let me add it again but most of the time I have to rescan everything to add it. It is a good idea if it just worked.

WORST APP!!!

This is a terrible app, I can never get it to open so that I can log any of my meals. it is absolutely infuriating that I would spend $33 for one month to use an app that I can never get to open!!!!! I am so glad I didn’t buy into this any further, and I won’t in the future.
