I have a number of Fool’s Dog apps, both for tarot and lenormand. I keep coming back to this developer’s apps because I find them very well designed, easy and intuitive to use, with all the functions I could want for a tarot app. Specific to this deck, it’s one of my favourites: It hews closely to the traditional RWS symbolism, and I find the art just ‘busy’ enough to be visually interesting without being so dense as to become distracting. I mostly find the accompanying text straightforward and succinct, and I appreciate that it includes meanings for reversals (which sometimes I use, and sometimes not. Fortunately, it’s very easy to switch from using reversals to all upright cards in this app!) My only complaint—and it’s a very minor one—is that the explanatory text seems to interpret the Court cards exclusively as people in the seeker’s life, which is only one of the ways I interpret them; it also doesn’t give reversed meanings for these cards. So if this is your first foray into tarot you might want to do some reading online to get a sense of the broader possible ways to interpret Court cards. But other than that, I highly recommend this app, and this developer in general.
I have been studying tarot for a year & although i own a bunch of decks I have not connected with the emotion in any. I mainly tried to focus on RWS lately but couldn’t read the faces. Facial expressions are so important for me when reading & many cards aren’t emotive. This deck is perfect! The expressions are still slight so the interpretation is open but also enough that they speak to my intuition. I love this app too & it runs great. The descriptions are excellent ‘ worthy of the cost alone.
Update 3/6/21 The journal is very wonky. It only *sometimes* saves the Card of the Day or Journal entries. I love The Fool’s Dog apps, but don’t bother with the Journal. Just write it down. Old review: This is my favorite of my many tarot decks (both in physical and app form). The art is engaging and clear. I feel like I can just step into the scene. The use of weather to add detail and feeling to the cards is very useful. The app is so helpful as I have visual issues and can enlarge the card or brighten the screen to see the details. Yay!
With Fool's Dog apps you simply can't go wrong. It's an entire deck, down to the last detail--companion book and journal included!--for electronic use in the palm of your hand. The backlight to these decks, this colorful one in particular, makes for a clear and pleasant reading experience.
