Easy and effective
I bounced around for a number of years struggling to find a therapist I could connect with interpersonally, while my mental health symptoms grew. Long wait times for anyone that had any availability at all only to be disappointed in the treatment. Finally found good care by paying out of pocket but had to end early because I couldn’t afford the $300 cost every week. With Lyra I was able to book an appointment from the app, with a recommended provider within 24 hours….literally the next morning I was in treatment, learning skills that I could use immediately. The exercises in between sessions were my favorite part, so I could continue practicing what I learned. Lyra did all of the work to make it easy for me to get help that worked for me. Mental health treatment is extremely personal but I felt like my provider really understood me and gave me the right tools to get better. Today, I’m showing up better for my family, friends and work. Can’t thank my employer enough for offering this program and highly recommend to anyone that has the opportunity to try it for themselves.

These people steal from you.
Whatever you do, do not upload your credit card. I was told that I would not be charged for a certain psychiatrist visit and that’s because my insurance covers in full all Psychiatry. My insurance covered in full paid them the full of the psychiatrist visit, but Lyra deducted the money out of my account without warning if I had any idea that they would steal from me, I would’ve never agreed to have the appointment. I called my insurance and they told me it was illegal for them to take from me because my insurance paid in full and now I have to get a lawyer. I have called them so many times and nobody from billing has ever responded to me over the phone I have gotten excuse after excuse, but what it really comes down to is that they just stole out of my pocket. I just recently came out of a domestic violence situation and left in a financial crisis and that is why I called and confirm to make sure that they wouldn’t charge me. They still took money from me, even though I was told that they wouldn’t. So now they have the money that my insurance gave them and my money I have had so many sleepless nights about this. I can’t even tell you how many tears I’ve cried and worried about the lack of funds now that Lyra has stolen from me. I am sick to my stomach and at least I have an an amazing therapist to make me feel better during the stress and agony that this company has put me through.

Didn’t Like It At First…
Honestly the first appointment I did sent me into a spiral of dysregulation and almost wiped out the little progress I made in forming boundaries with my family. The therapist didn’t explain Lyra’s method and goals in a way that helped me understand and pushed for reconciliation based off of the things I had said in my pre-appointment forms. I didn’t realize until I switched to my second therapist who spent a great deal of our first session explaining the short term yet intensive way that Lyra aims to help, which explained why the previous therapist was doing her best to push in a good direction all in one session except the issue was far to big to neatly tie with a bow like that. I have stuck with my second therapist for three sessions now and she is a wonderful person who can guide you through things well. Even if you don’t have the words if you just tell her that she will find something to talk about to draw out more of what you need over time.

A great care app!
I have been using the app for roughly two years. While life has had many challenges during that time, I find that the Lyra app is the most effective thing I’ve used so far. Having all my self-care exercises accessible in one place is very helpful. I love everything about the resources Lyra provides through the app as well. The only room for improvement I see is a couple of video bug fixes. When I am watching a video lesson, if I pause and leave the app (even for a brief moment), the audio for the video stops working. There are times where the video will not resume at all. I find that when I get the video working correctly after this, the video progress is bugged. I may have to watch the entire video one to two more times for it to be marked as complete. This issue is an inconvenience, but not the worst thing. I hope they fix this soon!

Lyra is Terrible
My experience with Lyra as a mental healthcare provider has been miserable. First of all, the homepage doesn’t load half the time. The first time I tried booking a therapist was during the height of the Pandemic, so there were all sorts of scheduling issues that resulted in me never seeing a therapist. More recently I decided to seek help through Lyra on their website and received error notifications whenever I tried to schedule an appointment. I received no further confirmation of any appointments being scheduled but couldn’t book a therapist because of a ghost appointment. couldn’t access any of the messages my counselor sent me, never received any help after reaching out to support, and ran into the same functionality issues on the app as the website. TLDR: any reviews that put Lyra in a positive light at all are botted or the minority of people’s experiences. Lyra wasn’t able to help me after repeated attempts because the service as a whole is simply broken. I would put money on Lyra inadvertently killing people from how unusable it is as a service. Maybe my experience is purely individual…but I think your boss wants you dead with Lyra as a provider.

Amazing! Wish I found them sooner
I love this app. I am fortunate that my employer covers the costs through my insurance but it is worth it regardless. I have an amazing counselor who truly listens and dives into providing me the best care possible. She sends me videos to help me get through the issues I did not realize I had in a format that is best (post meeting) along with our sessions. You have the option to put in what you are looking for and see the counselor you would potentially have and their allocates so you know what your getting before you start. You even have the option to switch if you feel the need. I will be using the family counselor feature next and a counselor for my teens. Mental health is important! And we need to learn how to speak on it and this app has helped me find someone help ME get through my anxiety, depression, and mental health crisis.

Beyond Impressed
I’ve used other virtual therapy-based apps and platforms before (BetterHelp and Talkspace), and without question Lyra has been the most effective and best experience. Beyond the fact that my therapist is truly skilled at listening, understanding, and showing compassion — she’s also great at making sessions effective & moving me towards actual though/belief/behavior change (something I gather is a focus with Lycra’s coaching and therapy setup). Lessons are pertinent, enjoyable & require just the right amount of time investment. I can’t say enough good things. I will note occasionally the app glitches during a lesson, but a quick reboot takes care of it & I don’t lose my place — so no real issue.

Bad Experience
As soon as you make an account you get bombarded with emails and text messages about scheduling appointments, assessment reminders, intake forms, and other notifications almost every day. Onboarding questions are incredibly redundant and most felt useless to answer bc they’re were so many of them. Felt like I was telling the story of my entire life that had no impact on my current mental state. My counselor/therapist was helpful but 1 hour sessions didn’t amount to very much. Felt like she met me for the first time every time we got together. Billing is horrible. I had reasonable excuses for canceling 2 appointments within the 24 hour window (helping administer care in operating rooms for trauma/joint surgeons) but they have a strict policy to “maintain quality service and availability for all our clients”. Yet I was forced to wait 15 minutes past the meeting time on 2 separate occasions for the counselor/therapist to join the video call. Do not join Lyra, find a different mental health platform.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS GARBAGE
Wasted my time answering questions getting registered on the app and when I get to the end where it wants to find a provider for me it just buffers and buffers and nothing happens I’ve waited a long time I have closed the app and signed back in multiple times still same buffering. No surprise at all tho considering they are partners with Walmart who’s apps and technology never works properly for employees. Very disappointed was looking forward to getting help I can’t afford other therapists and this was supposed to be free provided thru my work (Walmart) should have known it was useless. I would like to add I have tried multiple times thru the website as well it also doesn’t work. This has been a complete joke of “mental health care” if your creators don’t know how to make a working app and website then I suggest they find a different job and please find people that know what they are doing and and care.

Actual providers are great, app is awful
Once you’re actually in therapy, Lyra’s services are great - but the app itself is buggy, inconvenient, and ineffective for booking therapy. 1.) It never remembers my login info, so I have to login every single time I open the app. 2.) It keeps telling me I need to confirm my information, even though I’ve done so 5x (then it says confirmed, then the message pops up again). 3.) I keep trying to search for providers and getting an error message every time. 4.) In the past, Lyra gave you the option to choose between short-term coaching and long-term therapy. Now, they essentially trick you into booking short-term coaching (no other option) UNLESS you select “in-person appointment.” What if you want normal therapy over video? Apparently Lyra doesn’t consider this a viable option anymore. Frustrating that this bugginess and bad app are blocking what’s typically been a great therapy experience. Please fix these things, Lyra! 🙏

1 month in, so far it’s helpful!
I have always been more of a student of life and find the lessons that are assigned by my clinician very helpful. It is also a helpful practice to participate in activities that are very engaging. I also like the reviews at the end of the lesson so that I can take a moment to reflect on what it is that each lesson is trying to teach me. I unfortunately I was only given 12 free sessions through my employer, which means that I will eventually have to start over with a new therapist, but I’m looking at it in a positive way. My therapist and I have discussed this and have chosen to set smaller goals for me to achieve during our time together.

Surprisingly Good App when paired with Counseling
Lyra is a simple and effective method of counseling. Unlike traditional in person sessions, this online approach feels more efficient and better tailored towards my specific needs. They set you up with a well matched professional for online video calls. In addition to this the app helps you do weekly wellness checks, lessons assigned to you by your coach, as well as helping you learn new things through videos and quizzes. It has been less of a chore than anticipated. The online video lessons have been surprisingly applicable to my specific feelings brought up in my sessions. This app is actually useful!

This App makes it really easy
I love that everything is in one place. I’ve talked to my friends and family about it already. The lesson videos and tasks are easy to find when you log in and same with finding any article you need or videos to help you in a certain situation. Having everything right there, where you log on to chat to a therapist, watch your lesson videos, write reviews, find articles, videos, and activities, and messaging with your therapist is all right there. The content is very good as well I find that things from this app have helped me in my daily life already!

Such a good change.
I’ve had “traditional” therapy for the past 2 years. It helped me but at times it felt like I was just doing circles. I’ve done 3 sessions so far and what a difference. Having an app is such a game changer. From being able to pick your therapist and seeing all their profiles. The app has everything, you message there, you check do check ins, watch assignments, seek more videos and trainings. I’m so glad I have access to this platform from my workplace benefits. I feel I’m making more progress in these weeks versus my other therapy.

Bugs and too much frustration
It doesn’t help to try to find care when the app has errors that shut down the process and forces you back to the home page to start over. I started over 3 times and my frustration tolerance is already a problem since I am trying to find care for a reason. I want to snap because the whole thing inflames irritability and discourages anyone who is desperately trying and vulnerable. The translation from Japanese is poor and the choices presented made no sense in English. Why is getting help so hard? I need help, I’m already beat down from trying to get care via the regular routes of going thru insurance, getting waitlisted, told to call customer support for all these apps, and this Lyra thing will probably just tell me to contact their customer support too. C’mon. Frustrating.

Five Star- Recommended!
I have been going to therapy for a few weeks now and I have already learned ways to help me in difficult situations. This app is in my Home Screen. It easy to use! Even in an emotional crisis, when you don’t have the focus and patience to fuss around and find the help you need, in that moment. Your therapist can upload everything you need directly to your home page for easy access and you can go explore to find other “helps”, as well. So convenient and versatile. I recommend using Lyra Health App 10/10!

The best therapy experience I’ve had
I have been to therapy numerous time, both in person and virtual. I have never had an experience like I have at Lyra. Not only is the platform so easy to use, but having the resources and homework all available through the app in the same space as my therapist has been great. It’s nice to be able to message my therapist as needed through the app. I feel very confident in the security of the app as it logs me out if I have not interacted after a period of time and the push notifications are discreet.

The best approach ever!
That’s my first time when I try therapy. I imagined it would be similar to the sessions described in the movies. But! Lyra is a future, prior to each session I watch the short videos, the main characters describe exactly the same fillings I have! That’s fun and makes me feel that I am not alone with all those emotions I have. But the most valuable part is each video explains the solution, how to go out of those situations. And then we discuss during the session what are my thoughts and how that can be applicable to my life. Enjoy it!

In just three weeks, this service has changed my life
I feel very fortunate to have been paired up with the therapist that I have. With her help, I have done a lot of great work in a very short amount of time to help me reframe the way that I think. Lyra as an app provides an incredible one stop shop for all of your therapy needs. I love that in between sessions, I’m able to watch videos and do exercises that my therapist recommends, and I can also research other areas that I would like to improve on my own. Extremely happy with Lyra!

Mental health coaching
I have struggled many different trying times. Times that have made me reach out for help in many different pathways such a medicine, doctors, individual therapy. All of which helped to an extent but I feel this program has helped me in ways that I haven’t had in the past all the while continuing to let me be in the driver seat with an abundance of support and resources to help me succeed and become the person I strive to be. I thankful for this program and everyone who has helped me within it.

Learning to modify my behavior
So, I’m paired up with a life coach that listens and understands my situation. I also feel that after each seasons she gives me insightful tips and ways to cope with situations and also learn about myself more. I didn’t realize I wouldn’t mind doing the exercises and reading materials that I’m suppose to. I am learning so much of myself but I also realize I need help with my relationships at work and at home. Lyra is a must to cope with life. I wish I’ve done it sooner and more often.

Surprisingly helpful
I was very skeptical about this. Remote therapists? And mini videos and exercises? It sounded so cookie cutter. But I was in a spiral. I needed someone to talk to immediately. So I figured I’d get a couple emergency sessions here on Lyra through my employer while I find the right in-person therapist. Boy, was I wrong!! The Lyra therapist was perfect for my situation. Totally understanding while also encouraging me to grow. And the videos and activities are so well tailored to my situation that I made much faster progress than I ever expected.

Therapy that’s immediately there when I need it
The entire therapy works on my schedule and is super helpful for the lows because I can just pull up the app right there. Very user friendly and easy to navigate. I had one issue with my video once and IT fixed it within a day, they’re very prompt on making sure it all works for you. My therapist and the videos also made me feel like I wasn’t an anomaly for needing therapy without ever saying that directly to me.

Highly recommend
In terms of app functionality up to this point, I found the following factors as standout features: Ease of use, chat system, session management and scheduling, app security, and activity overview. I have not fully explored other areas of the app but my experience has been very pleasant so far. I did have minor issues with the chat system but nothing that can’t be improved. Overall, I am very happy with the app and Lyra as a service generally, and my coach is awesome!

Excellent Platform for Navigating Mental Health
The Lyra Health app is incredibly user-friendly and I highly recommend it! This platform excels in several key areas: it maximizes user communication with therapists, provides resources and activities tailored to the individual, features well-formulated multiple-choice surveys and questionnaires prior to each session with a therapist, and makes scheduling or rescheduling appointments easy. The app's thoughtful design and personalized approach make managing mental health more accessible and effective. Great job, Lyra Health!

Great Service
As one who never did therapy before, I can say that my experience with Christina has been amazing. It’s different than I expected and such a great tool to have an unbiased outside voice to walk through issues in my life with. Christina is understanding, compassionate and honest with me in a way that makes me feel heard and forces me to think through things more clearly. She is a blessing and I thank God for her being placed in my life at this time.

Good app but too many updates
This app is easy to use and I like how it delivers the content. The messaging feature is useful and helpful. The only things I don’t like are that it seems to be updated way too often. The last update was very difficult because the app glitches and I had a very hard time actually triggering the update. Additionally I like using my Face recognition to log in but every update requires me to sign in again which is annoying. So fewer updates would be nice.

First time using therapy and I love it
I got access to Lyra through my job benefits. It took me a long time and an embarrassing situation at work to actually sign up for therapy sessions here. It is me first time in general going to therapy. And it is probably one of the best things I have ever done for myself! The support is great and I enjoy lessons and homework’s I get. The app glitched couple times when I started using it. It has not been happening recently and it works smoothly.

Honest review: Years and years I’ve tried different therapies. This is the most effective method I have experienced yet. I feel like I’m watching myself in the videos and the exercises are so helpful. I highly recommend you give this a try. I was finally able to understand and fix rather than just deal and cope. I am really happy and excited and I feel like this has helped me so so much.

A groundbreaking model
The Lyra approach to therapy is by far the most effective I have encountered. I’m just a few sessions in and I have gleaned more from these sessions than in many years of seeking care put together. The app is excellent, but I’ve noticed it crashes a lot if you pause and start the activity videos many times (I take a lot of notes). Highly recommend logging in from a computer for sessions with your provider.

Shady and unethical
If you want an organization to arbitrarily rip services out from under you then this is the place. They will arbitrarily pick and choose the data, records and history that will result in those most cost savings to them; your mental health be darned. I asked specifically for resources related to ASD and ADHD. They sent me referrals accordingly. The coach was helping. Then I come back from a long weekend as recommended by my coach only to find messages that all of my appointments are canceled because of ASD and ADHD. Crooked, dishonest and unethical is the only way to describe Lyra. The app never worked for the exercises and whole portions wouldn't appear on screen. I wish my employer never switched to them

Unable to join session
I finally took my therapist advice to get a psychiatrist that practice in the state I’m visiting because the one in California can’t meet me being out of town. Mood swings and mood have been horrible and I didn’t care but then pushed myself to book the session for highly needed medication but the appointment rolled around and I couldn’t join on my phone, iPad, web browsers or laptop. Didn’t hear back from the provider when I let her know. I really needed today’s session and now I don’t want to anymore because this app’s failure to operate properly ruined the mood and added stress. Needs to be better. I’m over the top upset.

Good process and idea. Could improve app. Videos lock close to the end. Video calls are good and I like my therapist. The little behavior tranning videos are very good. Other secondary services are not so good. Tried to find a psychiatrist via app, but field is extremely busy after this summer-July 2024. Only have nurse practitioners from out of state. They charge you $$$ months after quitting therapy
I quit therapy in JULY and now it’s charging me in OCTOBER $90 for three sessions dating back to MAY right after my rent is due and I’m broke and can’t afford it. I thought it was supposed to be affordable and helpful. I also never received any notice between July and now about any billing besides ONE session that would cost $30, NOT 3 sessions, and was never told how much I’d be charged if at all during any therapy sessions. I don’t recommend them if you want to avoid surprise billing months after ending therapy. If they had ever informed me that those sessions were costing me I would have quit therapy sooner.

This is the first time I’ve done digital lessons with therapy. It helps me break down concepts on my time and process things on my own. Will this ever be fixed? I love the content of the app and Lyra platform but pretty much every time I am reviewing materials, a video will have its audio cut out in the middle. Then if I try to close and reload the video, the whole app just hangs and I have to force-close the app and restart, which then also requires me to login again (it would be nice if the app could add support for FaceID/TouchID to make logging back in faster/easier). Buggy
Watching the assigned videos is difficult because 9/10 times, the video will stop playing halfway and I will have to close and reopen the app. Usually it will play the rest of the video after that, but sometimes it doesn’t. A minor thing that I wish they could change is to remember the username/email so I don’t have to type it in every time I open the app. I don’t mind typing in the password every time for security purposes, but it’s tedious.
