The new app definitely works better, and without all the bugs that plagued the 1st app. I can’t comment on how the new classes are, as I only use it for “Freestyle” sessions. The customer service is quick to address any concerns. One big note, and my star reduction: their new app is no longer compatible with older devices. So my older iPad Mini 2, that I dedicated to my gym, won’t load the app… disappointed with that.
I’m a MAXPRO owner since 2020. I was hesitant with the new app approach but the company grandfathered early users into their new app and went as far as to give us a free three months trial for the new features. I am impressed with this and do not share some comments that I saw here complaining about paying $10 for an useful tool. Some people want everything for free just because they made one payment a year ago. Now the app. The old app was plain trash. Nothing worked and what was working was on it’s way to be broken. I’m guessing MAxpro hired a better team or something because the visuals are pretty good, I particularly like the icons as I understand what’s behind every little icon (I’m not too much tech savvy) The workouts are great, I like the filtering (it actually works!) they have several great trainers in there and there’s the promise to add new classes. The connection was improved too, the other day I forgot my Maxpro connected to the phone and it didn’t disconnect after more than an hour. That is a H-U-G-E improvement from the old app too. I did had some issues at first, but I contacted their support and they helped me right away. Yes bugs are annoying, but the response they give when something isn’t working speak volumes of a company. I won’t be paying for premium. Because I do not need all the extra stuff to do my workouts, I can build my own workouts and that’s enough. But I do support this company and they’re doing very good.
I was hoping to use this app more and sign up for premium but I wanted to try on a bigger screen so I can see better than on my phone...so I downloaded the macbook app to my laptop. Unfortunately the videos do not expand to full screen size and the app also keeps trying to flip the screen under certain circumstances like it would on an iphone (but a laptop screen doesn't flip). In addition, when this happens, it cuts off most of the screen so I can't even see the full veiw of what's going on looking sideways. So far this occurs 1. after I've paused on FreeStyle and then push play again, 2. during Train Presets when pressing skip. At this point I have to close the app completely and restart it in order to get the videos facing the right direction. The Exit button doesn't work in these instances. I also notice that all the options at the top of the videos overlap eachother so you can't always click the correct button. This could be a cool app so I hope it can be fixed to work with the larger screen that is says it's compatible with.
Great new features and customer service. Just needs some bug fixes
After voicing my concerns about features from the original app being placed behind a premium subscription, I was contacted by the MaxPro founder Nezar. He was exceptionally helpful and clarified that, despite some hiccups in the communication with the customer service team, all existing users of the old app will be grandfathered into the features from the original app. This is exactly the approach I was hoping for. Great to see that level of customer focus. The new app looks great and the Bluetooth connectivity is greatly improved over the old app. It’s a little buggy right now, some screens don’t load, sometimes it crashes, but I expect this can get worked out and the new experience will be excellent. Looking forward to it and enjoying my workouts with MaxPro along the way.
I am loving my MaxPro and all the guided classes are incredible. The app is absolutely horrible though, it crashes every single time I use it. Connecting it to the TV causes a crash, the bluetooth always disconnects during the workout and I either have to pause to reconnect or just continue the workout without tracking. Trying to use an Apple Watch as well during is another disaster, it rarely works and most of the time it doesn’t if you connect it to the TV and watch at the same time. It makes me so sad that the company has an incredible machine, wonderful content, but a horrible mobile app and they are just not listening to customers’ feedback. The app is so important, the device is not easy to figure out without being guided by a coach. The success of Pelaton and other giants was because of how great the content was and how seamless access was. It’s so so complicated and buggy with the MaxPro.
EXCELLENT trainers, EXCELLENT workouts… The services/product is phenomenal, just beyond. My only issue is the App… When downloading workouts, if you toggle away for a second or if you tablet or phone goes to sleep, the downloading of that workout stops eternally. It will stop downloading AND block your ability to ever watch or use that workout again. The only way to fix it is to uninstall the app and reinstall which of course removes ALL the other workouts you have downloaded. The download process takes soo long that your screen will inevitably go black and the workout will inevitably freeze. You can do nothing but stair at your device until it’s finished downloading or risk losing the workout you love. PLEASE fix! If you fix the bug this app would be beyond a 10/10.
They removed all of the coached classes behind a premium subscription. It’s not unreasonable to add extra ones, but to take away what loyal early adopters were using and putting behind a paywall is poor rewarding of existing customers in the extreme. And no, their offer of giving us back what we had for “only” $10 a month is not sufficient. Terribly disappointing. Update: their response was terrible and ignored my complaint- I would strongly recommend you do not buy their products Update 2: the vendor responded again saying they are giving us loyal customers a “deal” of a reduced cost membership. Imagine that! Taking something away and then charging you for it, and then having the cheek to say “it could be more.” I would highly recommend anyone reading this to NEVER buy any products from them.
Bought the Maxpro primarily to do freestyle workouts. However building your own workouts is very cumbersome. When trying to change the order of exercises of an already created work out, often times the screen is non-responsive even after long tapping on the three horizontal lines next to the exercise. This has been a very annoying experience and I am hoping the next update will be able to address a better way of re-ordering existing exercises versus having to delete the entire workout and re-add exercises in the order that you want from scratch.
I can’t say enough about this product! It is absolutely amazing…my even boys use it(13yrs) and they have seen amazing results. It’s easy, portable and effective! I can pack it up in it’s convenient back and bring it on trips with me, as I travel for work and it’s often uncomfortable to use the gym provided in the hotels. I can just pop open the MAXPRO wherever I am and get a great workout! The app is amazing also. Don’t hesitate to invest in your health and MAXPRO. You won’t be disappointed!!
I wish the the app was more usable for people who can’t afford the subscription after paying for the equipment. I have premium, but I get why people would be upset about it. The app works good once you subscribe!
I love my Maxpro - it’s an amazing product. I really want to love the app too, but it’s gotten pretty frustrating lately with bugs. The worst bug right now is that it won’t complete the workout when I read the end of it. It’s constantly asking if I was to resume or restart a workout - even though I already finished it. Sometimes during a workout it quits counting my reps and sets and get stuck in a continuous loop of the same thing and won’t let me skip to the next exercise.
The app has a serious lack of QA. The casting button for videos is entirely unresponsive 90% of the time and when it does respond, it just shows an error. I emailed the team about it and they had me record a video of the issue. In the 5 months since, there has been no improvement, but now I also get notifications to join premium classes that I can’t find a way to turn off. The device and workouts are so good, but in the end it’s such a disappointing experience due to the app.
Had a few issues before with the app and some of my missing items from my order. One call to the support team and they resolved all issues and even worked on some extra perks due to my troubles. Would highly recommend this product. Great machine. Great customer service. Top notch company
The workouts are great but the app is rather buggy. I can’t get the app to recognize my Apple Watch. Many of the workouts only have time for a right or left side of your body - skipping the other side. Other workouts for a specific side only count half the reps while other workouts double count reps. If you pause a workout or skip a module in the workout then the session won’t save. The app just needs more testing and attention to detail.
The workout programs are great. You can create your own workout or do a live one with a coach. Bree is very motivating to workout with! You can connect to the wall or to the bench and it’s very versatile. Every experience I’ve had with their customer service has been excellent and timely.
The max pro device works fine without the app - which is good thing, since the app is buggy and unstable. Creating a new account, logging in and staying logged in is a challenge. Workout classes and user generated social content are locked behind a paywall and might be worth $9.99 a month if the app worked, but it doesn’t. Sort reviews by “most recent” to get a realistic impression of the app. Keep your shipping boxes in case you decide to use the 30 day return option.
To pay $20 per month for this garbage app is a ripoff. This is a very buggy app as best. The watch is constantly turning on and off and it often doesn’t sync with the apple activity app. All around poor quality. Don’t try to pause a pre-set workout because it won’t save where you were actually at and it won’t let you skip a rep or set you have already completed. I love my maxpro but the app is really bad for the $20 you pay for all of the extra features.
The only nice thing is that you can sync your Apple Watch with the app. Now, if you want the all of the classes, you have to pay extra. They also don’t have all of the tutorial videos for the workouts. They have some and the rest have a description with an advertisement video. Not the actual video showing you how to do the workout. I’d rather search the internet for ideas on workouts.
The machine is top notch and is great for at-home workouts. It barely takes up any space and I can do every workout I need with this product. It’s pretty cool how much resistance you can get from such a light and mobile product. The app is nice for guided workouts. Worth it.
Completely overhauled from the first app. Looks more polished and workouts are more organized ! Will love to see a AirPlay feature to play on TVs. Looking forward to see what updates are coming moving forward!
I have used many work out apps and by far MaxPro and this current addition are in my top two. It meets all of my workout needs while easy to use and actually fun.
I love the versatility of this machine as well as the new enhanced app which will track my workout. The coached classes are excellent, especially Bree and also enjoy using the freestyle function. I have and use other fitness apps, none of which are free.
MaxPro has created an amazing piece of equipment. Unfortunately the app isn’t quite up to par, but the potential is there. BYO workouts crash, progress doesn’t get saved, the screen doesn’t rotate without having to disconnect from the MaxPro, etc. When it works, it’s a great compliment to the machine. Unfortunately it doesn’t as often as it should
App is super glitchy. Reps are not counting. Videos are hanging. Even the rest timer isn’t doing a full 60 seconds. Disconnected at least once on a full charge. App is updated. Firmware is current. Phone is updated. Tried restarting to no help. It has consistently done this with my last five workouts. Deleted the app and redownload but it does the same thing. Hope they fix it soon.
The new features and overall look of the app are great. I love having the ability to track my workout and progress, and the coaching classes are very helpful.
Omg! I love this app so much! I have been religiously using it for the past seven months. I love to use it when I travel for work because I do not always have access to a workout facility. Love this app! Super convenient!
Downloaded app, created login using appleid. Does not get past loading screen. Deleted and reinstalled, does not prompt for login information and still stuck in loading.
I think the app is a really cool concept but so far it isn’t capturing data from my apple watch even though I connected it. It also seems buggy when I try to view my workout summary and often just says loading. If these bugs were fixed I’d likely rate a lot higher.
I enjoy my Maxpro; however, with the app, I had several issues. I wanted to work on legs and choose a work out from the preset, but it caused the app to crash even after downloading the workout. Another workout, there was no sound. On top of that it takes a while to establish the bluetooth connection.

Only complaint is I would like to see the iWatch have more capability in the app. Mine doesn’t connect right away even with the app opened on the watch and the HR function seems to be disabled for Apple users. Please keep in mind my setup is using the iPad and not my iphone. The flip side is workouts are short and wreck the body.
The app is still so bug ridden that every couple weeks they keep disabling workouts so they can address the bugs. Yeah it’s nice they’re working on them, but they have to disable the one part of the app I actually use that fits my routine, repeatedly, in order to get a working app.
This app has helped me so much through my weight loss process. It really challenged me to do my best and work my hardest. This company is amazing and changed my life.
Needs a weekly schedule or calendar where you can follow along. It’s seems very overwhelming and scattered. It would be nice to be able to choose a calendar that gives a program to follow depending on what you choose to accomplish.
Very impressed with the new look of the ap! And the performance tracking is really cool too. Love the product and the coaches/classes. This has done wonders for my fitness!
The workout library NEVER works. I've been trying for months. If you search by muscle group, it just shows you everything. If you search by equipment, same thing. If I'm looking for leg workouts with the bench, it will show me chest flys. Very frustrating.
It's actually an amazing exercise app, it has helped me a lot to achieve my goals, clases are amazing including customer service. I 100% recommend this app.
Love the max pro but HATE this app! Very clunky, extremely difficult to set up your own workouts, half of the tutorial videos are missing, the custom workouts lose track of the set/rep/rest times and messes with your workout routine, I can go on and on, just an all around annoying app…
my absolute favorite piece of workout equipment ever. you can take it anywhere and do every workout you can possibly think of. it saves time and money because i no longer need my gym membership. 10/10 absolutely recommend you need to purchase.
It’s a good app, but frustrating. The favorites never load, when I add a workout to my calendar and click start….. nothing happens. If these would work it would be great.
I have had my MaxPro for almost one year. I have to say in my humble opinion this thing is amazing! When my work closed down the gym and the whole world was shut down do to Covid I started to not do any kind of exercising so my body went to crap. I got out of shape fast. (well round is a shape)lol I started to see adds pop up on Facebook with all different kind of home gyms or clam to make workouts at home easier. I have to say the only one that lite a spark in my mind’s eye was the MaxPro. So I ordered it as fast as my fingers could type. ( not to fast cause I have big hands) any way I ordered it. I have to say it came pretty fast. I down loaded the app and started my home workouts. At first it felt weird and not like the iron weights that I used to lift at the gym, but I told myself that I need to give it time. After about one week of working out and seeing small changes in my body and seeing my results in the app I started to like the MaxPro even better. Now the old app had a lot of issues that I see MaxPro had fixed in the new app. Which by the way is what the old app had but did not work right and did crash and by the way it was free in the old and new app. With the new app they made it a lot more sexier. Love that about it. They also added some new( which you pay for) features like heart rate time in zone and many more features that I’m still learning. From what I can tell this company is small and still trying to work out their growing pains, but that happens with any company. If I needed something or just needed to ask a question I alway got a fast response!. With all that said I highly recommend this product. Ps wish I could post my before and after photos.
Just got my new MaxPro excited to explore workout potential in app. I’ve downloaded and reinstalled app it will not load. Goes to loading screen and just sits there. None of my attempts to trouble shoot have been successful.
Download the new apps it loads my profile then ask me to ask the change. After I hit save nothing comes up for me to move forward all I can do is look at my saved profile.
