i like this app because it shows the work and it absolutely free! you can type in the problem, show them problem and draw the problem! This app honestly amazing! It shows the work just in case you still don’t understand. This app made my life turn into depression to happiness. When I didn’t have this app I didn’t understand anything my professor was saying because I get distracted a lot, I had no clue on what to do on my papers, I would always fail and my mother would always get angry for failing which made me feel like a failure in life i could handle her screaming at me. Music was my therapy back then. I always cry every night because of my grades and everything that was happening to me. My best friend moved and didn’t say goodbye to me only to his other friends. My mom would always punish me by taking away my phone therefore i had no music and made my life worst, i would always stay up until 5-7 because i never wanted to wake up in the morning. I loved it when i was alone home. My dad was my favorite, he left me but i still go with him. I love him so much. Once i downloaded this app this cured all of my bad grades and my mom started to become more proud of me. So i hope you see this and download this!

So far so good

I’ve only been using this app for a short time, and so far it’s been great. You can write problems with your finger ( or stylist), type them in or take a picture of a problem (haven’t tested the picture on yet) but the first two work great. I had used Math Papa for many years and that was my go to…until they decided that if you want to see the step by step you have to pay a whopping $10 a month. This app shows how they got the answer for free. It amazes me that everyone acts so concerned about the U.S. being behind in math with the rest of the world, but people don’t want to give you good training for free. Kudos to Microsoft (for once) for free learning…that is, not charging to see the step by step solutions. May change this if anything changes after having used it longer.

Excelente!!! Woohoo!!!

What an app!!! where you can check your practice exercises to find out if your results are correct! You could see not only the result but the different steps that explains how to get the the correct answer. The beauty of looking at the multiple steps so you can compare your multiple step process with the correct way. As you compare, you can see where your errors where within the multiple step process… and voilà you learn where you are making your mistakes in the process…I will give the confidence necessary to pass your next assignment or test…I will make smart!!! Very Helpful & Great So Far!

I’ve only had the app for a short amount of time and it’s been great, it’s all free, yes FREE, unlike other apps that don’t allow you to access certain things unless you have a subscription this one doesn’t! It’s great and you have options to enter your problem: draw, scan, or type :) there’s step by step which is very helpful and you can even take a quiz that’s based off of the problem you entered. (please use this wisely and you should only use it when you’re having trouble or just need a reminder on how to do something:)) overall I love this app and it’s so helpful and worth it :D

Great but has a problem that NEEDS fixing

This is a great app, I’m a college student and I use it all the time. It can handle complex equations and the graphs give you stuff like the domain, asymptotes, and other things like that that even Desmos doesn’t give you. However, there is one issue that I’ve had with it; whenever an answer is kind of long, it shows it in a small window and it is impossible to scroll to the side to see the whole thing. I often have to use a significant amount of force for it to recognize me trying to scroll. It’s not a deal-breaker or anything, just something that is EXTREMELY annoying, especially when you’re cheating on a timed exam.

Really good app, would recommend to others

This is a really great app, it really got me through my highs and lows in highschool, it also helped me understand math better I went from someone who struggled a lot with math to being very good at math and rarely ever messed up on another math problem. I highly recommended this to those who are struggling in math like I once was, all thanks to this app I’ve finally got through highschool and am now taking a 4 year college course for engineering good luck to anyone who downloads this remember to never give up, and always power through even if it’s difficult.

This saved my life. Not really. But basically, it saved my grades from dropping down to a failing grade. And that would have been the end of me (lol). This is fantastic! Perfect, 20/10. Exceeds expectations. Honestly, this helps a lot. Don’t cheat though, use it only for when you need a bit of a reminder or to check your work. (Cheating is wrong please don’t-) Anyway, I am very grateful to have stumbled onto this app. Really, it’s worth it. Very worthwhile and so so so helpful. It’s literally perfect I will not stop saying how much this has helped me. Ok wait I should stop now 😂. But seriously, don’t wait. It’s super helpful (and hey it’s free). Ok, enough praising. COMPREHENSIVE

It has as good as any step by step instructions and though im only algebra 2 it handles everything. Its the ease of use intuitive ,with plenty of menu extras and lots of links in the app to videos and websites. As many links as you like.(not ADVERTISEMENTS )Even practice pages. A description of the problem. Often choices of solutions and then a page of links as i said. Video, reading material, practice problems and loads of al those links. Intuitive with handy drop down menus right there no hunting for menus. With the abundance of material the other apps have a new standard to reach.

My Favorite App From Microsoft

This is one of the best apps I have ever seen to help understand how to solve problems. You are provided with so much information and learning resources, and you can even have it walk you through the problems and provide descriptions of how to do each step. Now I can spend hours learning how to solve complex math problems without wanting to pull the hair out of my head. It is simply an excellent tool, and unbelievably, it's free to use at the time of writing this. It is so comprehensive and easy to use that I feel it is worthy of an award!

amazing!!

I struggle from time to time in algebra and have used multiple apps for it. This one has been the best so far! Unlike most calculators, this one provides free explanations on every problem and doesn't require you to spend money at all. It gives you very simple but outstanding steps and generally just lets you have all the information you need. This has completely saved me from wasting time and I really enjoy using it! I recommend this to anyone who needs answers and especially step by step explanations. 💛

Amazing

I’ve been struggling with math and was thinking of dropping out when i had the idea to get an app similar to this. At first, all the other apps I found had you pay a subscription or you would get a crappy version of it. I was about to think of giving up until I stubbed upon this app. Let’s just say it saved my life. Ever since I’ve used this app, I have gotten straight A in my classes. It gives you simple and useful steps to solve hard questions. I highly recommend getting this app if your struggling in math

If only this existed while I plugged away on a TI-86...

This app is amazing. Not only does it solve complex equations which cannot be done on a regular or even graphing calculator, it also brings you through each and every step to solving the equation. The app is as much a calculator as it is a tutor. Forget even having to figure out where the correct buttons for symbols etc are, simply snap a picture or draw the equation in and it’s solved. Not sure much negative could be said about this app. Students today truly don’t know how blessed they are to be living with all this technology.

Great app, one minor problem.

Everything works out great on this app; it gives step by step solutions, and even recommends an online resource called Khan Academy to help you to learn your problems. My only issue is that it writes out the equations long ways, instead of stacked, but this is, like I said, a minor issue and is mainly just another way to write it. I would 100% recommend this to middle and high schoolers doing algebra and things like that. Great app the five stars is earned in my personal opinion.

bad

overall the app is good, it calculates problems and sometimes gives step by step solutions. however something that absolutely makes my blood boil is the fact that when I take a picture of the problem I’m on, the app likes to scan all the other problems that are out of the range of the scan box. this leads me to have to write it out which is very inconvenient and frustrating. not only is this a problem with scanning a problem, but sometimes when I scan a problem a bunch of random characters that aren’t even close to what the problem appears. please fix this as it’s very frustrating to the point to where I want to throw my phone off the 3rd floor of my building.

It’s very good because I am the best 3rd grade student in my Math Class, I wanted to learn Calculus, but it is too complicated for my geeky math skills. It also has a practice function which after solving your problem, you can take a Quiz with similar math questions as the one you typed in. You can also use your camera to solve a(n) math question on a PC test or paper test, but other people say “Is ThAt CHeatING?”, Nope, It’s not cheats for your test! I give it a 9.8/10 due to minor bugs. But it’s good! I recommend it!

Absolute Savior!

Thank god for Microsoft Math, without this I would not have a passing grade in my math class. By far the best math app, just take a pic of your problems and have the app solve them for you without having to buy in do some stupid subscription. Definitely beats out Photomath and even Mathway. I’ve been trying to use math way and just like EA Sports is you have to pay for features. When I found this, legit it saved me from having an F in my math class. Thanks Microsoft very very much for making this app!

Love!!

I Layed in my bed for an hour staring at my math homework because I had no idea how to solve it. I couldn’t find a tutorial for the type of math I was doing either , I had heard of apps that scan math problems but I thought I would not be able to find one that was free until I found this app! It is so reassuring turning in that math homework knowing my answers are right , and I was so happy when I saw it gives an explanation so I can understand why the answer is the answer. Amazing 😍

Powerful, Free, and Easy to Use

Microsoft Math is amazing. It is able to successfully handle complex equations and problems. Microsoft seems to be the only tech company truly providing an amazing and well rounded experience to get to the future. The ability to read handwriting is amazing. People may complain about how it’s not going to help anyone learn math, but I completely disagree. People complained about the same thing when the computer became mainstream. People will learn from this, and I can’t wait to see what Microsoft comes up with next.

Life saver!! Thank you!!

I downloaded a bunch of math apps to help me, I’m almost doing bad on my grade because of math until I found this, it’s free to see the steps to do it and it really works!! You can type, and draw the equation too, but of course you can take a photo of the problem. For my math homework I was supposed to do my math on a separate piece of paper but I was confused, and this REALLY helped! It’s very accurate and correct! I would recommend downloading if you need help With math, thanks, Microsoft!!

Easy to Understand

Their step-by-step explanations on how to solve each problem are very simple, and don't take much effort to understand like those fancy-worded paragraphs you'll always find on the internet. This is very useful for figuring out what you should be doing on a certain type of problem. Type it out, press Enter, then press the step-by-step button, and it tells you everything you need to know on how to solve any problems similar to the one it solved for you. Great app!

Great Help For Online School 🤓!

During the coronavirus pandemic, many school have resorted to virtual learning. Adapting to online classes is difficult I personally learn better in person. I take a chemistry class that has a lot to due with math. This app has made online learning a lot easier by breaking down the steps of the equations, you can scan and write out equations too. They even show provide videos on equations and links to helpful resources. Unlike Photomath it’s free. I recommend this app for your math needs.

THE BEST AND THE FASTEST!

I’ve been having trouble with math problems and I can figure it out on my own but can’t really do the math. I’ve been using brainly and it was ok and it wasn’t as fast and didn’t have my answers I was looking for, but! My father showed me this app and it was like brianly but just for math! and it was faster than brainly and explained the math problem and I just loved how it did that! So I recommend that if your using brainly and can’t find the answers, plz use this app it made math a bit easier for me

Great homework help

You might think this is just a easy way to get done with homework, but if you have to provide work/proof, you have to figure it out yourself, and I respect that. The format’s simple, it has dark mode, and it has multiple ways to ways to insert your questions. It also provides the steps to solving the problem and links to extra help. Socratic from Google for comparison, just just vauge tips on how to answer the question. This app really helps. Thanks Microsoft

Very good but needs more explanation

I’m a student and I do college algebra I would greatly suggest this app it works really well and the photo feature is extremely accurate and never wrong I would rate this app five stars but when it comes to factoring things they cut out some crucial steps to explaining how and why there doing something they factor out but don’t say what there factoring out and it gets extremely confusing sometimes otherwise this is the most perfect math app I hope they read this so this CAN be THE perfect calculator type app

It’s ok

So it’s a great app but sometimes I feel that the results they give really don’t help. I typed in 25x20 (just testing it to see if it works) and obviously it’s 500 but then I scroll down and it showed resources from khan academy like I get they probably thought it was useful but it showed work for different problems. So it’s a great app and all but I feel they can’t use khan academy for every single problem ever. If you see this I suggest when you read that you think long and hard about it. P. S. So I’m a freshman in high school and all of my middle school years where online because of Covid and a bomb threat so I don’t learn a ton math wise so I was super far behind and was failing my math class and this has really helped me catch up and give me time to learn while keeping my grade up it’s rlly easy to us it’s sadly can solve anything if it’s layout is wired but other than that 9.5/10 would highly recommend this app I hoped this helped

Very helpful

This thing has saved me from getting a bad grade so many times. I’ve also saved so much time. Also if you’re going to use this for help on homework or something don’t just get all the answers and call it a day. Make sure you actually learn the material otherwise you’ll fail your tests (I speak from experience). Again, thank you to whoever at Microsoft who came up with this. Thank you

Amazing App

It helps me figure out alot . I looked all over for a app that could help better explain . This app is perfect for a student who is struggling and needs to get a better understanding . Yes it gives you the answer but it also works it out so if you do your work wrong you can go back and check your answer and see where you went wrong . But it does not work out some word problems , that could always be a small fix .

Excellent. Microsoft at its best

Really appreciate the effort by Microsoft. A free no ad app. Solves really complex equations and explains it step by step. Please keep up the good work. Hope the developers and the product team stay on top with such innovation. This is a nice way to provide those with lesser resources an equitable way of learning abd not getting stuck without help. Perfect for anyone who needs a new calc

If you have an iPad, don’t download a ipad Calc that mimics the iPhones built in one, download this. 10/10 tool, would recommend to not just iPad users but it also has more features than the iPhones built in and unlike other calcs, most features are free. “Oh you have to pay for algebra and 15 other things” but not with this one. Once again, amazing.

Literally a life changer

This app is perfect. As someone who has struggled math my entire life, I am able to scan questions and it helps me not only find the answer, but both gives me the steps in a way to understand manner and gives me references and high quality videos that help me to actually learn. I can't recommend it high enough. If whoever made this app reads this, you've made a significant impact on this reviewers life and I'm extremely grateful.

Great Ability to Read

I have been using Microsoft Math for about four months and I can’t get enough of it. The app is great and much better than other alternatives like Photomath. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this app is so great that I had to. Other photo-mathematical apps can’t read half of your questions, but Microsoft Math is different. Microsoft Math read your question flawlessly and gives you a great answer that is always right.

Extrememly helpful. Amazing.

Learning algebra is made 10x easier with this software. I split screen this with Notes and use my apple pencil between the two. Whenever I get a problem wrong, I use the Math app to see where I went wrong. It breaks down the process of simplifying and evaluating so you aren't just getting answers, you are learning the process. It's free and without ads! I am in love with this app and recommend it to every student or curious learner.

So far so good…..

I used it on two problems so far, and I must say I’m impressed. I was stuck on one problem for two days or so because my textbook was psycho at explaining or breaking it down. When my daughter told me about the app, and it worked I was so happy, and feel more confident going forward with my upcoming math class. I will recommend it to others. Thank you.

Promising, Pencil support needs work

I just got a new Apple Pencil for my birthday, and this was one of the first apps I installed to test it out. It’s really a fun, useful, and exciting project. But even when I am very careful with my penmanship, the handwriting recognition is unreliable and buggy. Support for systems of equations (simultaneous equations) is great, but completely broken with the Pencil input. The curly bracket is recognized, but when it renders the math problem from my input, it makes the bracket smaller than it should be, and outputs the equations as the solution.

Very helpful

I was struggling with the math problems but this is very easy and free. This is better than photo math or anything else because it also gives you videos to explain the type of problem your dealing with. I highly recommend this. The only thing is it doesn’t work on word problems but otherwise it’s amazing.

Every kid in school and anyone who deals with math regularly or just wants to learn math needs this app.....it is amazing what it can do and teach you. The future is here and it just came in the form of an amazingly easy and simple math app. Thank you Microsoft, my 17 year old son and 16 year old daughter are going to download this app and I know it will help them. I was going to get a tutor, but think this will work for them.

This app is pretty amazing! You can scan your math problems, draw/write them out, or type them in with a calculator! PLUS, after putting your problem in for the software to solve your problem, they make quizzes on the type of questions your inserted and they recommend videos on the topic! AMAZING 10/10

I literally just got this app and when I read the reviews I was like oh my gosh I saw a life changer it brings up educated websites that tell you how this can be explained in another way for you worksheets that you can do so you can get better at your Math please get this app it is life changer you need to get this app if you were struggling with math this is a great way to learn from your mistakes get this app !!!!

Very much still in beta

As an equation solver it’s really good but there is no denying the bugs present. Graphs wiggle around when you zoom on them, the screen flickers in dark mode, and many more bugs are present which overall hinder this apps ability. The handwriting is also VERY hit or miss where you have to be extra intention about what you’re writing or else the software interprets it in a very different way. Overall great concept but it needs a heavy coat of polish

Great app

I love it. I use to check my answers on homeworks and it does a great job. Some dude complained that it’s hard to scroll when an answer is long haven’t had that problems so far. He said that it’s incredibly annoying on a timed exam when you cheat. Solution dude don’t cheat but study and use the app to CHECK the aswers. Jk just had to write that too but a great app.

Microsoft Math

All Microsoft apps are the best. This is one of them. Unlike other math apps I downloaded, they all forced me to pay. This one is free and helps you a LOT. One improvement is to not show the answer first but to show the process first. Before, I had downloaded at least ten apps, but I had to pay. I was very lucky I came across this app.

Best math app

This app is awesome. You can draw, take a photo, or type a math problem and it’ll solve it for you! But it also gives you a FREE step by step explanation and related videos from Khan Academy to help you. It even makes a quiz for you to practice based off of problems you’ve tried recently. This has to be the best math app yet. No wonder it’s ratings are great!

This app is perfect.

Okay so I have to get missing work done otherwise I will have to do it at my dads and it gets annoying, so, I used this app. It works perfectly. There are some problems it can solve, but they could solve most of the ones I put. And ever app I tried like this, makes you subscribe, but this one don’t. It’s just a get-right-to- it sort of thing. Tysm, I needed a app like this.

Doesn’t work on iPhone 6

The reviews say that it’s a life saver and I installed it on my iPhone 6 and when I take a photo or scan it doesn’t show the result and they gave those samples of scanned photos when I click it simply show the results bar but it’s blank and sorry if my English bad it’s BC I’m typing on a broken iPhone anyways pls fix this issue cause this app looks awesome and I really wanna use it :)

So happy!

This app gives perfect explanations for your problems. So when you teacher doesn’t answer you, you look at the step by step answer instead of trying to find it on the internet. It also shows links to videos that help understand. This saved me so much time, plus it’s free!

Amazing app!!

I love this app!! It really helps me with math and it shows you how to do it step-by-step, which I think is really cool considering that I am horrible at math. I don’t have any problems with this app which is good cause the other apps that I had downloaded before would ask me to join their premium for like 20$ just to get an answer for a problem which is stupid. But yeah this is a great app

Wonderful app

Five out of five stars because it helps with algebra two gives you everything answer you need one down or is that I cannot solve geometry if you guys could fix the geometry solver I would give you guys like six at six stars but because there is no geometry Solver five stars still wonderful download it if you need help
