I am a Montessori guide looking for a way to keep my son engaged over summer break. This app is like the material in the classroom. However, if a child is using an app the expectation is that they are not working with an adult one-on-one and therefore will need some feedback from the app. I knew this would be a simple app, but when using it to spell words I expected it to say if my son was correct of not. As it stands he could put jjj next to hat and it wouldn’t matter. Also, the voice has a strong accent on the a, o, and e sounds and the c sound doesn’t isolate just the /c/ but says “cu”. I tried to get a refund through apple but couldn’t. $5 was too much for such a simple app.

Not what I thought it would be at all. Very limited and you have to pay for upgrade to have many options

Not worth the price

I'm disappointed with this app. Not very learning friendly. Definitely wouldn't have bought it if I had tried a lite version of it.

Misleading

I thought that this app would allow me to make words and practice tracing script. WRONG. Just allows you to drag script letters up to an area to spell words as given by icons. Boring and overpriced.

I want my money back. This does not teach children how to form the letters and it is so boring.

Children can phonetically sound out words, one letter at a time to build words. In our experience in the classroom, it is best to follow the CVC words with four letter, CVCC words, which often seems to be easier for the blending of sounds leading up to the actual reading of words. Mastering word building requires lots of practice and repetition. Following this, we introduce four letter, CCVC words and then five letter, CCVCC words. As the children master these skills they often explore the process all on their own and have fun expressing their own ideas using the Movable Alphabet!
