This is a good start and far better than the previous "Boopsie" app. That said, there's still room for improvement. I shouldn't have to log in again to pay fines. The delay when pulling up my patron record is a few seconds too long. Choosing to open the OverDrive app doesn't actually open the app, it opens the App Store, so it requires yet another click. With a few tweaks, this could be a great app instead of just good.
Please go back to the original. It keeps logging me out and when I go to log back in, it keeps saying server error on Naperville library side so now I have deleted the app will try to reinstall it and see what happens. This app is not near as user-friendly and intuitive. Sadly, not an improvement.
I find the app is helpful with the my account quick links to the desktop website. The digital library card does not scan at the library registers though, and the catalog search all feature is not functioning. I haven't tried the self checkout feature, but I've also never had a problem finding an open checkout register at the library. Overall I would say this app is helpful to see what you have checked out and items you have placed on hold. Worth the download in my opinion, especially if they fix the catalog feature.
Overall, not a bad app. Problem is that half of the time, it won’t load updated materials on my iPhone, often when I need it most. (Never have a problem with loading my information on the other non-phone Apple devices at home though!) This is the third or fourth time I’ve deleted the app and the reinstalled it. Fingers crossed it’ll work well this time around!
I’ve had to delete and reinstall the application for it to work properly. It would not allow me to hold books. The staff couldn’t figure it out either. On a whim, I tried the above and it worked. Also, the dollar fine it shows can’t be processed here although the option is listed.
The app makes life very convenient and has great features including having your digital card on it, having multiple accounts from family members, self checkout, renewals, holds, material requests, etc. However, everything is SLOW - esp renewals which I use quite frequently. You can only renew one material at a time and after each renewal request you have to wait. I hope they improve upon this website.
I had high hopes for this app since the previous one was so basic. But this one is just a more colorful version of the old one. You still have to click a bunch of times to renew items and it is missing the most important upgrade - notifications of late items!! Plus the catalog search hasn't worked at all. What a waste of time and money.
This app took a step backwards. I used to be able to see all of the new stuff coming to the library in the app but now it re-directs me to the website where I can’t find what I’m looking for. Very disappointed.
So sad that a perfectly good app and website has been “upgraded” to an app where you can no longer do self check out and the Coming Soon and New at the Library sections have been removed from the app and website.
Several updates have occurred on the app, but my ability to checkout apps via the self check camera barcode scanner still isn’t working. Please fix this!
1. Can only renew one book at a time. Painful to wait the system to refresh. 2. Unnecessary info taking too much real estate space on the screen. Font is too big.
The new version of the app is a significant downgrade from the previous version: -catalog search function doesn't work -library barcode scanner doesn't work -books checked out and holds are all now in one queue, making it difficult to check for the status of books on hold There are many promising features of the new version, but the core functionality has been completely destroyed.
This update brought a new app rebuilt from the ground up but the SELF CHECKOUT SCANNER STILL DOES NOT WORK! Probably one of the top 2 most important features and it’s been broken for years at this point… It also seems that the library staff members are being told to say it’s an Apple problem… Off the top of my head Amazon, Target, Meijer, Parcel, Walgreens all have barcode scanners and work well so why blame Apple? Take accountability. After this long, I have zero confidence that the developers will ever get it sorted and I’m leaving comments here because there is no way to contact the app developer.
