I appreciate reading DJ for local news. I moved back here after 21+ years living elsewhere. Knowing DJ is still publishing is a happy thought. Thank you!
I like th app but wish ay wud take th stories off tat has ben on er couple days . I c th same story sum times fo several days. Need to stay on updated stories on th app and delete old ones off . Also open th obits fo folks to read. Crazy to show a name and a partial piece of obit and th rest locked out. You can go to a funeral home site and read it . Daaaaaaa
To liberal I see the things people say and it’s disgusting probably why the journal is no more. I earned everything I have. It’s sickening to see the articles in the paper so one sided. Brainwashing people is what your trying to do and boot kissing not much truth in the Journal if your not a brainwashed liberal democrat . I look at the obits it’s all I can tolerate
The people of Holly Springs sure miss their papers! I think it’s really sad a fine newspaper like the DJ quit us loyal customers. Bring the delivery back. No choices for a daily paper The Commercial Appeal or nothing. Everyone doesn’t know or want to know how to operate electronics. We like paper!
Problems with reading obituaries-app shuts down. Now it’s changed again - search for obituaries. We want to be able to read them daily without searching every time.
The app is a greatly appreciated upgrade since the last time I used this app. I love using it because it's so simply yet pleasing to the eyes. I'm still looking for the search option though but I'm guessing there isn't one.
Just found the app this morning, loaded it on my iPad, and so far I'm liking what I see. A couple of things bothered me, but I'm not sure if it's the fault of the app or the content provider. All the recipes in the living section were missing the "slash" in the ingredient listings, so 1-1/4 teaspoons was listed as 114 teaspoons. I thought it was just a typo, but then I found it to be that way in every single recipe, on every ingredient where a fraction was involved. I also noticed that many of the photos of people had been cropped from the top, so you only see the person from the shoulders down. Hopefully these glitches can be worked out!
The app is great for catching the headlines. However, if you put off opening the push alerts for very long the app will have refreshed, and the story will no longer be available. Over all a great app.
Really enjoy site most of the time. But could yaw go to Mcdonalds or maybe wal-mart and hire somebody to do tech support to keep it up and running properly. Seems like the classified part is very regularly not coming up right. Its just not right reading part of a paper instead all of the sections.
I don't like this new version of the app. The stories aren't complete and makes u go to the website for full story. And doesn't put the new stuff up till days later. I will probably just start getting the paper again now that the djournal is behide on everything
Enjoy having latest news at my fingertips. Easy to navigate. Very informative news/sports articles. I do wish BizBlog would carry more info on local happenings and building projects, tho.
Loved it until it started linking to the full site to read the entire article. Now the text is too small to read and even enlarged, you can only see small parts of the article at a time. Will not be using this new version unless necessary. PLEASE change back.
I'm from the area, but am away most of the time. Your app gives me the opportunity to keep up with some of the things going on in NE Mississippi, especially obituaries.
This used to be a terrific way to read the Daily Journal IN ADDITION TO my current hard-copy subscription. NOW they have "improved" the app — NOT and want a paid subscription after accessing 'x' number of times. The layout is difficult to maneuver and not very appealing. Not sure it even earns one star.
The new update stinks! If I wanted to have to click on a link and go out to the website to read an entire article I would do just that. If the app isn't fixed thinking about deleting the app.
Update - Really?!? The content isn't worth a paid subscription. Now the app is just taking up space on my phone and will soon be relegated to the trash bin. *********************************** Very well laid out & put together nicely. It's so easy to get to the information you need.
This app used to be a great way to get the local news but not anymore. I will be deleting it if they don't go back to the way it was. You have to pay a subscription now to be able to read the local news or an obituary.
