I used to live in New Castle but moved away about 23 years ago. I check the obituaries a few times a week. I am so old that most of the people in the obituaries are younger than I am. I wish that in the lists of deaths that you would include the maiden names of women in the two or three sentences in the list that is visible before clicking to see the full obituary. I do thank you for allowing people to see a few full obits without a subscription. I seldom see anyone that I know anymore. I really don’t want to pay for a subscription to read just a few obituaries. Of course there is no problem with the men’s names but I wish you would extend the courtesy of having the women’s maiden names listed in the two opening lines.
At first I was Hesitant to download this app because of earlier negative review., But since downloading, I am very pleased with it! Apparently the fixes have improved it. It functions very smoothly. You can easily page through forward & back. Each individual article can be zoomed in on and read easily on my tablet. I still have paper delivered, but it is nice to have digital edition available first thing in the morning!
I moved to Florida three years ago and have had access to my Hometown newspaper “The New Castle News” online ever since… I’m notified of “Breaking News” as it happens via email also..I’m very pleased with the availability of my Newspaper at 6am, six days a week..
I subscribe because I want to be able to get the news from my hometown. I’ve moved to Oil City and I can’t even get local tv except the bad news. NC news does carry some good news and I appreciate that! Ty Libby Miller
Obviously different people produce the e edition on different days, noted because of the different layouts regarding stories continuing or requiring page turns. Headlines and paragraph breaks are often mixed resulting in confused stories and even more grammatical and spelling errors than one sees in a print edition.
I’ve been a customer for over 50 years. Twice a month like clock work I’m dropped and have a heck of a time getting back on line. Please get a programmer in there that knows what their doing.
