There have been a number of times-too many to count, I try to upload a current issue and it says I can’t because I have to update my subscription, which is not the case. Very frustrating. I then sign off shut my phone off etc and still have issues.
I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have the day to read with my morning coffee every morning. It gives the facts, with no politics except the opinion pages. I get all the international, state and local news that I need. And of course Dear Abbey, Dennis the Menice and the weather. And all very affordable. Thank you for starting my Day. Anne Lang Groton
I have read the Day all my life, and knowing I have had a voice by writing to the editor has always given me comfort. Imagine not having that voice......Biff
I have been a Day subscriber for many years. Since November my paper delivery has been sporadic and this week I have been without a paper for the past 2 days. When I call the number to report, the attitude from customer service is quite unfriendly. I have yet to see any indication that I have been credited or the date extended on my bill. Very unhappy with The Day.’
Fine readable version, only wish puzzles were interactive and actually able to be completed, not just there. Difficult to even just print the individual puzzle to complete on paper.
This app works when it wants to work. I have it set to auto deliver new issues and it randomly does not. Then when I try to manually open the issue it just hangs. Other times it will tell me that my subscription does not allow delivery via the app (it does). The help desk does not help - they just say to restart which does not work. I have had to reinstall to get it to work for any length of time.
I just love reading The Day on line every morning.....it’s an exact replica of the paper edition, but I appreciate that it is protecting our forests, and it’s so convenient.
Typically liberal small town paper staffed with people who would like to work at bigger news organizations but don’t have the talent. Lots of stale AP and Washington Post articles. Good local coverage. Editorial has become increasingly “progressive” and follows the lefty crowd. No independent or critical thinking. Staff conceit is that they are great social warriors. Pathetic.
I can no longer access the newspaper. I can download the advertising supplements you call magazines but have list access to what I want to read. I have tried deleting, reloading, and updating the app. Go back to the version that worked.
I’d much rather be reading my physical newspaper, that I pay for in advance, but The Day can’t get their act together. I have only received 2 in the last 11 days. The best part is they ignore your complaints.
Finally I can read The Day as it was printed. This is so much better than going on their web site and trying to read the paper when I am away from home. It is intuitive and easy to read. I've lived all over both coasts and this has got to be the most entertaining newspaper out there. Great coverage of local news and events. I love the drama and the local personalities. I so much fun to read. Kudos to the Day staff
I like the app when it works well. Unfortunately, it hasn't consistently worked well on my iPad Air with iOS 7.1.1. It frequently forgets my registration information, and when I try to re-enter the information the app gives me a bunch of blank white pop up error messages. But when it works properly, it is easy and intuitive to download and navigate the paper. Fix the bugs and this would be a five star review.
I've had no significant problems reading the paper. But the 10 issue free trial doesn't mean you get to download 10 issues. Apparently, it's 10 days after you download the paper the first time. I downloaded the paper on a Saturday and a Sunday during a visit to New London and planned to do the same on a subsequent visit, weeks later. SORRY!! "Your tried subscription has expired " Expired? After only TWO free issues?
I agree that this App is buggy, especially when it doesn't autoload as I have my Settings, and I need to keep reregistering. The page views are sometimes off due to formatting issues. Overall, I really love this app for reading...old-school.
I’ve been reading The Day for over 60 years. It’s no longer the respected paper it once was in my opinion. I am in agreement with its editorial positions so that isn’t an issue for me. I believe that poor decisions by previous management have damaged the paper beyond repair . Selling the presses has resulted in a stale paper that is not timely. The sports section is useless because when you open it the stories are usually from the day before or marked “late”. I want to know what happened last night. You have no spontaneity. Local sports personalities and high school athletes Boring and unread . Norwich coverage mostly unread. You can call your paper whatever you want but it’s still The New London Day. The paper is very poorly edited with numerous mistakes and poorly written headlines. There are very few locally written stories mostly reprints from The NY Times ,Washington Post, and The Ct Mirror. Hey have you heard of the Internet? We’ve already read these stories! While I’m at it how many pictures of people at Harkness or Bluff Point can you print? Selling the Day building is the beginning of the end I’m afraid. Previous management missed the boat by not going into television when it could this would have given you the revenue to keep going. I’ll keep buying and supporting the paper until it ceases publication which I’m afraid is coming.
We have home delivery and since the beginning of April we been having problems with we the day being able to deliver papers. Here The Day Delivery Issue Confirmation 22258 someone needs to check this problem out
