Ooler great App not at all
I appreciate the ooler impact but not the fight that all of these other reviews reference. Living it is enough without recounting it here. I assume it will be remedied at some point, I hope, since we bought two. But what I would like is to be able to override my schedule whenever I want such as if I jump into bed freezing and would like to warm up and have the temperature drop/schedule resume shortly. Or an unlikely nap. Or when we travel. It shouldn’t be so hard! Also we use wifi thermostats which allow you to adjust from away in preparation, that would be way better than Bluetooth. Finally, I know we are spoiled in a high tech user friendly world, but few such items are as indulgently priced as this product, which is why your customers are frustrated beyond words by how slow responsiveness is on app and how not friendly it is toward users. Please tend to these needs or we will be left with a bad investment in a defunct no longer serviced company. And it should ideally be set up and forget not continuously needy, right? I’ve never had a low water warning either but did add it twice so... I’ve had them over a year and patience is running low waiting for improvements

Significantly improved my sleep
I’m a hot sleeper, so I’d wake up multiple times a night drenched in sweat. Sometimes I’d be up just waiting to cool down so I could go back to sleep. The seasons didn’t matter, though summer was always more miserable and sleeping with a fan didn’t help. Changing blankets didn’t help. Or the thermostat. Or sleep attire. Taking sleep aids didn’t help either. I felt like I tried everything. I got the Ooler Chilipad for my birthday and I have not woken up once because of temperature (toddlers are another story). I’ve slept so much better. Significantly better. Programming different temperatures for different times of night was also a game changer. I set it colder for the times of night I’d frequently wake up hot. Works like a dream. Pun intended. Best. Gift. Ever.

Luxury priced product, poor customer service and equipment
I have had my Ooler for about two years. In that son of time, I have returned THREE Ooler devices. Most recently, both devices stopped cooling all together. After paying to have them sent in for repairs, I got them back only to find a refurbished Ooler and my previous one I had sent in. The original one oddly rattled and I found multiple screws inside the Ooler and inside the box. I tried replacing the screws, but the screw holes are stripped and just fell out. Upon plugging it in, the digital display was so broken, that I could not read it. That’s right. I sent my Ooler in for repair and received it in much worse condition than before sending it in for repair. I emailed support one week ago, and have yet to receive a response. It gets worse. Now, the refurbished one will not turn off. The app says it is connected and that it is off, but the fan in the Ooler is continually running. I unplug it, plug it back in, app says it’s off, but it continues to run. I feel like all the other negative reviews of the app have been addressed in other reviews, so I will not repeat on the scheduling bugs, low water issues that others have spoken of. Overall I wish I had not purchased this item. I will be filing a ticket with the BBB. I have never been as disappointed with a product as I have with this one.

App needs work
We are incredibly disappointed at how terrible the app is considering how much we spent for the Ooler. When it works as scheduled, it’s nice. But that only happens about half the time and it’s usually my husband’s side. We’ve had it for just over two weeks. We will come to bed and it didn’t turn on when scheduled. The warm awake feature turns on as scheduled about75% of the time. Originally we used my phone to control both with the app but thought that might be causing the problem. But even using different phones isn’t correcting the issue. Furthermore, it would be nice to be able to program various temperature throughout the night and morning. I would like to set it to 100 degrees for morning instead of 115. There are other reviews mentioning these concerns, so I guess the company either doesn’t read them or doesn’t care. If the app worked consistently, I would recommend it to everyone.

Best sleep ever!!
My husband and I actually look forward every evening to crawling into our bed that we each can set our sides of the bed for whatever our individual needs are! I like to start out sleeping with the setting on cool, then having it gradually start warming up throughout the night, until in the morning when I’m ready to get up,I’m so well rested since I no longer have night sweats, because of the cooling effect! It’s gotten to the point where we’re out of town,we seriously miss our Ooler😃

Shamefully bad
The app really is as bad as everyone says. Connectivity issues. Random operation. IMO, one of the most frustrating things is that it offers a “schedule” that isn’t a schedule... anything set for any given day will be applied to ALL DAYS randomly. Say you want to wake up at 7am on week days, but sleep in on weekends. Nope, you’re waking up at 7am on Sunday. Then let’s say you want to override the schedule and turn cooling on after you’re already mad about being up on Sunday. Nope, it will just turn itself off. I invested nearly $3000 on two systems over a year ago and have been waiting on an update that will likely never come. It is apparent that this company has no intention of offering ongoing support for their products. This is concerning for someone wary about support for the hardware(which has already failed twice). Unfortunately most people won’t read these reviews before buying the product, but I would strongly advise against this product.

Amazing...when it works
The Ooler itself is amazing. I no longer wake up in the middle of the night sweating, that is when the app is actually working. Never have I ever encountered such a wonky, garbage app. For as much as I paid for the Ooler, I would expect a top notch app as well. While my schedules go as planned, there are some days where my Ooler just automatically turns itself on. Fortunately I’m home so I can shut it off again, but how annoying to constantly have to keep shutting off a unit when you’ve already told it to stay off multiple times. My only other complaint is that sometimes I will wake up sweating and look at my Ooler app and it’s cranked as high as the temperature can go!! Kind of defeats the purpose of the pad at that point. I’m about ready to just ditch the app and start turning the unit on and off manually as this app is complete garbage and is useless most of the time. Come Ooler, you can do better.

Why do I need to create an account?
I bought this device to help cool me at night while sleeping. I downloaded this app to control the temperature remotely. For some odd reason, they want me to create an account with my name and email address, and then, when I read the privacy policy, they basically share the info with anyone they want. This is very unnecessary, and it just seems like an excuse to get personal information to sell to third parties. I already paid $800 for this machine, I should be able to control it on my phone without having to login with an email address and password. Do yourself a favor; take a few minutes and read their privacy policy, and who they share all this information with, all for simply downloading an app that links to your cooling device and controls the temperature.

Maddening
The equipment/hardware is fantastic when it works as marketed. I owned the Chilipad and then upgraded to Ooler when released. I’ve had consisten app connection problems and sleep schedule issues. Presently, my system no longer recognizes the sleep schedule and I can only manually turn on and off. My husbands system no longer connects via app. Issues happen with a fair amount of regularity - - which is far too often for a system that should otherwise run automatically except for the occasional maintenance. Speaking of which, I never get notice of low water level. This is something I have to check manually. Being in the health field, this is a product I want to highly recommend...but can’t for the above reasons. I do truly hope these issues get resolved. It’s an expensive piece of technology.

Worst App I have
1. My sleep schedules get randomly deleted. 2. Often when I try to adjust the temperature on a sleep schedule, I get a message saying the time isn’t in the sleep range when it clearly is. (3am adjustment in a 10pm-8am schedule.) 3. When traveling with my ooler, good luck getting the Bluetooth to connect and actually run the schedule. The pad itself seems to be fine although I would prefer more tubes closer together but the app is clearly not up to the standards one should expect with an $800 purchase. UPDATE: August 2020 I am downgrading my stars to 1. I have even more issues with the app after 7 months than in the beginning. Now, my sleep schedules get deleted and then, magically, all of them or 1 of them - reappear on some random day. I have the bed time alerts turned off but I still get them. My Ooler has been shutting off in the middle of a sleep schedule and then kicking back on after a few minutes. 🤷🏻‍♀️ None of my issues have been resolved. I get emails from the developers asking for more info and when I give it, I get cut-and-pasted answers that don’t even apply to my issues. This buggy app is still not functioning correctly and I see no moves to fix it by the developers. Therefore, it gets 1 star. But that’s only because I can’t give it 0 stars.

Rarely works- sometimes when it feels like it...
The app fooled me and worked on the first day which was delightful. Then randomly chose a program to follow after creating multiple ones. If all programs are turned on but have different days highlighted it doesn’t differentiate between the programs or days. Since then it has worked another day and after that hasn’t worked at all. Doesn’t automatically turn on or reduce temp as scheduled. Not really sure why they even have an app except all companies do now. Purely using the machine base and ONLY machine base is where you’ll find consistency. The app is marketing genius and theoretically ideal but mostly a failure. The only way to reliably change the temperature while sleeping is setting an alarm and Manitoba adjusting which completely defeats the purpose of the app. Good luck, you’ve been warned.

Wrong info in updated app
The newer version of app tries to better guide you to setting temp stages during your sleep. It INCORRECTLY states that REM sleep needs a slightly warmer setting. Actually REM sleep is where our body temperature falls to its lowest point. So if you follow the app guidance to increase your body temp during the last 3-4 hours of sleep you will be disrupting your body’s proclivity to drop your body temp for good REM sleep. So they need to correct their errors. NREM (deep sleep) the body temp also drops a little but during REM sleep is when our body temperature falls to its lowest point. Love my OOler, the new version of the app is better for adjusting temps. However the error in guidance earns the new version a 3 star review because it will mess with people’s sleep.

Life Changing
Truly a game changer for someone like me but most likely for everyone. I can say that with confidence due to the plethora of sleep research regarding ideal/optimum temperatures for sound sleep. My ability to go into deep sleep and stay there has been the “dream” I had hoped to find for years. No Pun intended. Can’t recommend highly enough I must include the warm awake feature in this review. Instead of the rude assault of a squawing alarm or even awakening to peaceful music, one is ever so gently awakened because the bed has gone from a perfectly cool environment conducive to deep sleep to a progressively warming bed AS PER your own desired settings…or no personal settings at all. There are endless combinations of scheduled settings depending on your personal preferences and/or the time of year. Get this product. Sleep well. You deserve it.

App needs a lot of work
The ooler is a decent system that is only marred by a poor quality app. The UI bugs are getting better but the sleep schedule is still very hit or miss since the last update. I now have to go manually turn on or off the device a few nights a week despite having a schedule set for every day. Requiring a login to even use the app was a business decision that needs to be rethought. The app and device should continue to function even if Kryo Inc moves on and shuts down the servers that support the app someday but it is currently designed to not do that.

Ooler is the Ferrari of sleep
Wow...wow...wow! The Ooler is a blessing and dream (no pun intended) come true. I absolutely love this product. My wife has medical issues and has struggled with sleep due to hot flashes. This product addresses these challenges incredibly, both going to bed and waking up from bed. I am telling every person I know about this product and how it’s life changing. Try it, promise you will NEVER regret it and add YEARS to your life and wellness through better sleep. Ooler changes lives one bed at a time. God bless

Very flawed and glitchy
For the price tag of these units (and we invested in TWO at once), the devices and its app should behave flawlessly. Unfortunately it’s far from reality. There’s no way to ensure a schedule has been effectively activated, there’s no notification system when water level is low (you simply wake up in a sweat or freezing friending on the season which has become the Ooler low water level notification system in our house), and the Bluetooth connectivity is poor. I wish I would’ve returned these a long time ago and saved myself a lot of frustration. The app NEEDS improvement.

App continues to improve
Agree with many, the Ooler is amazing! The app is still a bit clunky but in my opinion is still very functional. Little unintuitive things, like having to figure out the start date on the Schedule will determine the time the Ooler turns off (Friday schedule defines turn off on Saturday morning - so weekend is F & S, not S & S). My Ooler is under the bed. It would be great to have the app tell me (push notification) when water is low and needs to be added. Much easier than pulling the unit out to check.

BEST INVESTMENT EVER!
I am regularly a hot sleeper and would have my house set at 60° if I could but of course my bill would be huge. My wife got this for me for Christmas and I have used it every day since! I have even used it during the winter season. It even has a function that slowly wakes you up by increasing the temperature which actually works. 1000% recommend

Great app, needs sleep timer
The only thing I would say is to please add a timer function. I have a schedule set but depending on what time I get in bed I’d like to turn it on say 85 degrees for 15-20 mins and then have it turn off automatically so I don’t wake up sweating at some point before my schedule turns it down. It’s far too much trouble to create an entire new schedule for a one-off use at random times. A sleep timer would be amazing.

Terrible app, lovely Ooler
My Ooler itself gets five stars, love it. The app gets one star. Sort reviews by date and you’ll see nearly everyone complaining about the SAME ISSUES for 2 years but ChiliSleep has done nothing! 1) Still no iPad app, only works in portrait mode, basic functionality, lots of missing essential features. Most people use iPads in landscape mode. 2) Still no low water warning so you gotta crawl under the bed randomly to check. Only way to know water is low is when unit performance suddenly becomes erratic, with bizarre temperature jumps. Just adding this one feature alone to the app would save a fortune in CS cases and warranty returns! 3) The schedule has to be the same every day, it can’t be different on weekends. 4) An app update just logged me out in the middle of the night forcing me to go hunting for my password while half asleep, now I’m wide the eff awake! Leaving an angry review! Tired of it! Fire the developers, get somebody better on this!

Ooler app will NOT PAIR!
I sent my first unit back after a month, because it no longer would pair with the Ooler app. They assumed the Bluetooth interface was defective. It took them three months, and they finally returned a brand new unit to me! This new unit will not pair with the Ooler app either!! you would think they would have tested this before they sent it to me! There is no getting a hold of anyone on the phone no matter what time of day you call, I have left messages after messages! I have reset, my net work, everything else works on my Bluetooth! I wish someone could help me, this is terribly frustrating!

Amazing hardware, sub-par software
For an $800 machine, you’d expect a more polished app experience. The app is really clunky and bland, and the sleep scheduling feature is not as comprehensive as it could be. It’s very utilitarian. How long will it take for Chili Technologies to address what so many customers have already mentioned time and time again? If they don’t move to develop a better app experience soon, they’re going to get left in the dust of their growing list of competitors. Enough with the lip service, Chili Technologies—when will you actually do something about it?

Ooler app totally works for me
I keep an iPad next to my bed so this app is a very convenient way to control my new Ooler. I’m glad I don’t have to deal with another remote control. I’m not using the scheduling feature because I don’t have a regular bedtime. I’ll just turn on the Ooler and set it to a high temp before I get ready for bed, then turn down the temp when I retire, then turn it off when I wake up.

I love it!
This has seriously been a game changer for me! The only that is a little annoying is that it doesn’t stay connected to Bluetooth, so every time I go into the app, it takes a few seconds to reconnect. And one thing that would be a nice improvement, is if you got a warning about the water level on the app. Overall, I have zero regrets about my purchase :-)

Unit great, app has work to be done
Th unit is great. I swear by it. I would recommend it to anyone. But the app needs help in functionality. Sometimes the app randomly kicks your unit off. Annoying but not the worst. The worst part is the scheduler, which doesn’t work. Set it to turn on and off your unit at set times and it simply does not do that. I’ve had his unit for 1-2 years. The scheduler, which saves energy and reduces wear on the unit, just needs to be fixed and made to work properly. So 5 stars on the unit and 2 stars on the app.

Poor Customer Service
I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I have received from Sleepme. Despite reaching out multiple times over the past year, the responses have been either nonexistent or unhelpful. The only advice provided was to flip the Ooler over and reset the “WOP,” which did not resolve the issue. My Ooler has not been functioning for over a year, and the company has failed to correct the problem. If you are looking for a reliable system to improve your sleep, I strongly recommend avoiding Sleepme and considering alternatives like Sleep 8.

New fan of cold bed!
I would never have dreamed that I’d sleep better in a cold bed. I thought waking up in the middle of the night was normal, but really it was just body heat accumulating in my mattress and radiating back to me after a certain point. Now, with my Ooler, I sleep soundly and rarely wake up before the lovely “warm wake up” feature.

Good product with a huge flaw
Good: It cools the bed nicely which helps me sleep. Bad: You have to install the app to be able to turn it off. The manual power button on top doesn’t do this. I learned this from reading the reviews here. It isn't written anywhere in the instructions that I could see. Installing the app and updating firmware was easy enough and I found the power button on the main page of the app. I just wish I could fully control it with buttons already there without having to use my phone.

App is a literal nightmare.
Just received the ChiliPAD, which I am looking forward to trying out, however, the OOLER App won’t connect to Bluetooth. The one time it did, the Firmware required would not update; I had to delete the app per companies instructions. Now the new downloaded app won’t reconnect to Bluetooth, nor will Bluetooth to the unit. This is a huge diminishing factor to the product. It takes away the full joy of experiencing the ChiliPAD because I am paying a substantial amount for a product marketing a tooted upgrade by using OOLER for it’s sleep support app. Emailing the company directly to get tech support means waiting weeks to get a response, & with time zones at play, well, sigh. The ‘Chat’ people are wonderful & will stay the course with you to problem-solve, but unfortunately, they are also stymied by the apps tech problems. At this early stage, with the inability to access with ease, I would not recommend the OOLER app.

Make me sign up an account at midnight so you can spam my email?
Bought the ooler and really liked it, noticed it wasn’t on for some reason and turns out Ooler decided to make you make you create an account arbitrarily to get the thing to work after 6-months of use / new update. Do you really need my phone number and email so I can set my bed temperature to 68? I look forward to the spam emails that I will unsubscribe some. Make a good product, I will buy it, and then let me be.

Free from my heat
My body heats the mattress below me and makes the temperature intolerable. With the Ooler, that heat is absorbed and the bed feels right. I sleep a lot better than I used to, as I used to be throwing off the covers all night. The device is reliable. Sometimes it gets noisy but that means it needs to be cleaned, which is quite easy.

No watch support
The app interface is quite basic, very limited functionality. Life doesn’t always run on schedule, nor are conditions always the same. It would be great if there was a quick warm button, or a way build different routines. A tie into home automation would be great. There is watch support which leaves me reaching for my phone for every adjustment. This feels like a barebones thermostat app. Cool system and I look forward to competing products that offer WiFi, automation, and more flexibility. For $800 a unit this is WAY below expectations.

I feel like I totally upgraded my sleep using Ooler. It cools the bed during the day and warms the bed at night, customizable and flexible to meet my erratic work schedule. Too clunky for the price of the unit
As much as the Ooler costs, the app should work. The scheduling just doesn’t work for weekend and week day schedules. My Sunday through Thursday worked fine. Friday night….. Nothing. Why can’t the app notify the user if the desired temperature is not reached? I had it set for 65 and it didn’t get lower than 68 all night. Turns out it was low on water. The app couldn’t even tell me that. For the price I expected a lot more from the app, especially since it’s the only way to control the unit. Do better Chilisleep!

I was skeptical to make the investment at first. But this has turned out to be some of the best money I’ve ever spent. Being able to control the temperature via the app and make a schedule the ooler a hands down pick. Add in the warm wake-up, and you have the total package.

Needs automatic shut off feature
I own two Chilipads and now one Ooler. I don’t have a set sleep schedule, do having an automatic shut off feature would be nice, like the earlier model has. I sometimes forget to shut it off in b the morning and it runs slll day. I also wish Ooler came with a basic remote for on/off and temp control as the last thing I want to do in the middle of the night is turn on my phone and use an app.

Shouldn’t have to use a phone app
These people are in the business of good sleep. They should know that requiring someone to use a glowing phone app – or even to have a phone in the bedroom at all – is just ridiculous to slightly adjust the temp in the middle of the night. The old ChiliCube ran on an old-school remote control. Much smarter. Not to mention, faster than having to deal with a stupid app trying to load, sync, etc. Seriously, with this expensive device, you should fix this.

A timer would be a nice simple fix
I don’t go to bed at the exact same time every night, but always want the same program (warm for the first 30 minutes, then drop the temperature to 65 for the rest of the night). Seems like it would be an easy fix to run that program from the push of a button that is not dependent on time, but dependent on when I tell it to run the program.

I wish the app works as implied
I am speaking about the app, not the Ooler machine. The app has never alerted me when the water is low, and the schedule will not stop appearing in my notifications, even though I have the tab off set to off. I don’t know the machine needs water until I physically check the machine display which requires me to crawl under my bed. The app suggested the new firmware now has notifications, but I haven’t gotten one yet.

Love Ooler but needs a better app
First and foremost I love that I can heat and cool my bed as easily as I can my room! Ooler makes the transition between them pretty seamless even if the app leaves a little to be desired! My hope is that when you fix the app, you will also create an action for wearables. Having to have your phone to communicate with it is a bit cumbersome.

Why do I have to LOG IN to a website to use a device?
I have two Ooler units under my bed. I don’t want to make an account on them. I don’t want to connect to a third party service. If your website is down, I can’t use my mattress pad. Also, it randomly logs me out. This is a horrible design. Let me connect directly via bluetooth or wifi like literally every other bluetooth device. My super said it’s extremely dangerous given water and electricity is a horrible combination. Ooler offered me to send in the unit, pay for shipping myself ($100, lol). This company is one of the worst companies I’ve ever seen. I hope they either learn and improve their business or just stop selling their products.
