It’s Perfect
So there are some books that will be the text to you and others that you can read the text it’s easy to navigate especially on the phone for those late night studies where you don’t wanna be sitting on your desk and you’re really tired or if you can’t sleep and you just wanna get a little bit of work and it’s super conventional and it’s easy to take with you everywhere so anywhere you go you can always study in case if you’re really busy and you’re afraid that you might turn in stuff late it’s really helpful resource full it keeps all your P just bookmarked has really nice highlighters that you can highlight texts with and then on highlight them if you’re done with them easy to navigate and if you’re ever looking up for a specific sentence that your teacher wants you to look at you can type in the words and it will look it up for you fast making it super easy to find anything

Love the app, but it also needs work
I love using this app on my iPad when I can’t really take out my computer/bring it with me. I like having the ability to access my textbooks, and there’s definitely great features to it like highlighting, commenting, flashcards, etc. That being said, those features definitely could use some refining. When I go to highlight, it’s not always accurate and it just looks funky. It can be pretty frustrating to try to highlight and then also see how weird it looks afterward. I wish there was a more natural swiping action for when you do want to highlight. Also, what’s up with the zooming in and out? Any time I try to zoom in, it takes me to the next page over or so. If I want to zoom in on a specific paragraph that’s like a half inch in size on my iPad screen, the whole app just goes haywire and takes me to the next page. That’s a pain when I’m going over math equations since they’re so tiny and I always need to zoom. Also, once I’m finally zoomed in enough that it the app doesn’t go crazy and look like a wizard turning pages in a spell book with magic, I’ll try to use 2 fingers to slide over to the next problem (from left side to right side of the page), it also thinks I’m trying to turn the page rather than just slide over a bit. I love this app, but I really would like that to get fixed and I’m sure I’m not the only person with these frustrations. Overall, great idea and app minus those few issues.

Needs Improvement, almost great.
Pearson has great functions like being able to write flash cards or take notes. It also has audio so you can listen to the text. But they really need to improve the programmed voice to not say things like “underscore” over twenty times when reciting end of chapter questions that have five blanks in it for answers. She (the voice) also fails to pronounce the phonetic pronunciations of terms offered in the book. It’s very awkward with her saying one syllable then spelling the next. She’s clearly an automated voice that they turned loose on the text with no edits. For auditory learners this is problematic. Her tone however, with the exception of some oddly pronounced words, is rather decent. They do need to program her to pause after a dash but over all it’s tolerable between her fumbling through headings, outlines and bulleted lists. Forget about hitting to enter to start a new line with flash cards. When you save it it will smash all the words together anyway so if you need to make a list of things, you’re screwed. I still like the lady and her intonation, but she’s not a replacement for the texts and a big company like Pearson should really work on the accessibility for people who need the audio. One last thing, it needs a button to go full screen with the interface so you aren’t on dark mode with your toolbar and tabs headlighting you.

Needs a Major Overhaul
It hurts my heart that I had no choice but to spend $130 on this etext, because I needed the proprietary statistics software that came with it to complete my assignments. I guess when students have no choice but to buy a software product, the product manufacturer isn’t then inclined to keep that software updated and user friendly. For one thing, there is no turning the phone for a wider view of the tiny text. Only vertical, sorry. And when you try to zoom in it is jumpy and unpredictable, and you’ll likely lose too much text so just keep it tiny and vertical and deal with the headache you will inevitably get. The desktop software isn’t much better. Search function is awful - sometimes terms will come up but when you click on them… nothing. No action. Does it at least tell you what page the term is on? Nope. Tough luck. Try google. And then you can’t zoom OUT - this is wild. I can’t fit the page on one screen/browser. And there are these little ‘tips for success’ on the sides of the pages that narrow the margins, making one long column when what would actually be user friendly is a nice square of text that perfectly fits one page into the browser window. I just don’t understand how this expensive platform can be so bad all around. Is anyone trying at all? Had anyone at Pearson actually tried to use these texts? Cmon guys. Quit robbing people. We’re students, for chrissakes!

Still Frustrated
I teach several courses per semester and have done so for more than 15 years. I adopted MyMathLab early on after moving to Pearson, and this app is now the third attempt by Pearson to provide a digital textbook for the courses I teach. The apps continue to improve despite some irritating setbacks. You would think that after so many years, I would be able to arrange the order of my books? (thank you for allowing this in MyLab with the pin and drag options). And when will the duplicates end? It should not be so difficult to locate the book that I want to use. My biggest complaint, though, is the syncing of the app with the website. You would think that this would be a nice feature but it makes it impossible to “hold my finger on a page” to answer a students question and then go back to where I was on the exercise page. And as an instructor, or tenured professor to make the point, I shouldn’t have access to textbooks removed because the MyLab course expired. I used to have contacts at Pearson who set access privileges for some of my textbooks, which migrated over to this new app. But it was a hassle and I don’t have the patience to go through this again. Overall, I appreciate having the app for my iPad. I just wish it were more useful and better suited for instructors.

Please listen :(
I like being able to have all my textbooks in one place, and to have such easy access to them at all times. However, this app is actually driving me insane. 1) it took me 4 days to even figure out how to open my textbooks on my iPad. The app looks like there is a better layout, but for some reason it defaults my app to a page with just textbook names. 2) I love to highlight important information as I read, but every time I try to, it takes me to the next page or the page before!!!! It is so annoying! I wish there was a way to lock my page so I don’t have to reload the page over and over. Also, why do I have to even select text? I want to be able to select a highlighter and just highlight the text without having to select the words. I wish there was a better way to annotate. 3) when I read my book along side of my notes with split screen, I cannot scroll without it going to previous or future pages. A lock feature would help with this as well! 4) I often have to site page numbers for my homework, and there are no page numbers in the app. Why….? Overall, I kind of wish I would’ve just invested in paper textbooks instead of an iPad specifically for this app. Oh well.

Unwieldy, inconvenient, and finicky
I had to download the app because the ebook features weren’t supported in my browser. That’s fine. But the app doesn’t really work either. If I accidentally rotate my screen, the text automatically scrolls all the way back to the top of the section instead of saving my place. It also resets to the top of the section any time I accidentally touch anything that I didn’t mean to, so I have to be very careful. This causes a lot of unnecessary scrolling. Also the highlighter function sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t, depending on the amount of text I’d like to highlight and the location on the page. Every once in awhile I’m trying to highlight something important and I accidentally switch to a whole different section, causing the above problem again. Using this book has been a very frustrating experience. If I could use the browser version I would, but unfortunately I’m stuck with this janky app. Luckily I found a really cheap used copy of the print textbook on Abe books, and it’s only one edition older than the required edition for my class. I definitely recommend any student go the used book route rather than attempt to navigate this fail of an ebook. One star.

So close yet so far
While I appreciate the wide variety of capabilities this app provides, such as flash cards, there is a long ways to go in terms of user friendliness. First, the duplicate books issue drives me nuts. It shouldn’t be so difficult to find the book I’m looking for. Also, there’s glitches whenever you try to highlight something. It’s nearly impossible to get the text to highlight easily, and you’ll end up wasting 5 minutes trying to. Also, I think it’s frustrating how you can’t make the sidebar with the menu completely go away while reading. Another feature which would persuade me to use the app more often would be if it supported animated page turn like in iBooks. The way the page slides over just feels kind of choppy and is visually unappealing. Lastly, the Sepia mode for the page color makes the text a very odd color and is not easy on the eyes. It’s a shame this app isn’t as up to date as other book apps out there, especially since I’m forced to use it as a college student. If these issues were fixed, I think the app would be so much more appealing and possibly enjoyable to use.

Please make it easier to actually read the textbook
I hate etextbooks because of this app. It’s beyond infuriating. It’s impossible to focus and learn any of the material when every five seconds it either jumps to the top of the page, or goes to the next or previous page. When it’s not doing either of those, it’s randomly showing the sidebar that blocks a third of the text and makes it impossible to read the book without tapping to get rid of it, and of course when you try to get rid of it the book then switches to a different page of takes you to the top. Then, you can’t scroll down without it switching. Stop trying to make it so overly user friendly!! People know how to turn book pages, they know how to open up a menu to see the sidebar, all these extra stupid features are making the function of the app as a textbook impossible. But it’s mandatory, and there are no physical textbooks, so we’re forced to suffer through it anyways. This is what you pay for in a college course, and somehow it’s supposed to be on the same level as a physical book that lets you actually read it. If I could rate zero stars I would.

FINALLY!!
Pearson, your apps have always been utterly disappointing semester after semester. Upon downloading this app, my expectations were low from the numerous letdowns in the past. However, this app is AMAZING!! I had to pause my exploring in this app to post a review!! I’ve been waiting for years for an app that was worthy of not just the price but of the content of your products! I will be graduating this semester, which also means that my time with this app will be limited. It is bittersweet since this app is a huge transition from the other terrible apps. I LOVE the features, such as being able to transform the text to nice sounding audio and the overall sleek design makes studying more enjoyable. Thank you and FINALLY!!

Somewhat buggy
The app in general is okay from a navigation point of view, and the audio feature is nice, but there is one major bug I’ve run into. Somewhat frequently when resuming from sleep or other changes like navigating the index while audio is running, the app completely loses track of the current page, by which I mean it says it’s on page 384, but that’s not the page I was just reading. Going page back and then forward does not resolve the issue, but if I go back several pages and then return it displays the correct page. Page navigation displays the “correct” page number at the bottom of the app, but the page content displayed is from elsewhere in the book. Most recently while reading a page in the 380s I had this issue. I copied some of the text, and searched the book, finding the page 200-odd pages earlier. It makes me question how certain I can be that I’m reading the right pages, and if I’m missing pages in my studies.

Wish it was better
I love the fact that there is an app. As a student, the lack of learning tools through Pearson+ is frustrating. Sure you get audio text and the ability to make your own flash cards, but having hundreds, or thousands of questions with answers and rationales available to practice the content would be ideal. It would also benefit students to have an app that will play a single chapter without the freezing. When it freezes, it jumps back to where I started the audio text at that session. That could be one sub section of content, or it could be a whole chapter! My whole point is subscribing and paying additional money for Pearson+ is to better manage my study time, not increase the time and frustration. In all honesty, I believe the audio text should be included in the purchase of the text anyways, like every other text book I have used!

Convenient and Helpful
Pearson app allows you to carry your reading materials and resources at the tip of your fingers. You can rent a book for a few months or buy the entire book online. There are videos and check on learning questions along the way that facilitate studying. Unfortunately, when you search (CTRL F) while using your computer, it gives you related materials from the website but you are unable to search for a specific word in the reading to go back to. Also, the app doesn’t return to the last reading page, instead it starts from the beginning and you have to find your way back to where you left off. Overall, I am happy with the experience and look forward to using it for studying.

Helpful and Convenient!
I was so excited to find an audible version of my textbook! I have been looking for one. I am in school, but also work full time and have 3 kids, 3 dogs, chickens, a pig, and a household to manage, so I don’t have a lot of time to stop what I’m doing and sit down and read. I am usually doing something with my hands. I searched everywhere for my previous textbook, and the only one I was able to find ended up being over $100 to use! I was so excited when I found this one, and at a great price!

Not enough practice problems
Overall, I like the format of Pearson plus and the tools that it gives you within the application. The embedded concept videos are great and I like the quizzes at the end of most sections. I was envisioning when I purchased this program however that I would be able to answer the questions in the back of the book digitally and receive feedback whether I was right or wrong. Unfortunately you have to refer to the eText to find the answer to some of the questions but even then the answers are not available for all of them. This to me is a severe weakness of the program. Performing practice questions is by far the best way to cement a grasp on a topic in physics however, not having the correct answer means that there is no way to know if I got the right result.

Frustrating Experience
This app is not very usable. Controls frequently conflict with each other and make the app a frustrating experience. These small issues pop up frequently. Just trying to highlight text becomes frustrating because the app registers a left or right movement as a movement to read the next section of a text book. Sometimes the highlight options disappears because the app doesn’t think you’re trying to highlight. This means that sometimes you need to use two hands to simply highlight text which is dumb. Reading itself can be annoying because the app is incredibly sensitive in terms of it’s touch controls. Often it will interpret slight side movements as a gesture which results in it going to the next chapter/section. The developers really need to rethink how features should implemented. I would recommend they look at apps such as Pdf Expert implement their controls. Dedicated buttons for features such as highlight or copying text is much less frustrating because the app requires you to be deliberate in what you are attempting to do instead of trying to guess your intentions. Overall this app is the most frustrating experience I have had when it comes to reading text books. Pearson needs to change their approach to how features are implemented.

Audiobook Glitching
I am using the Bennett/Briggs math textbook entitled “Using and Understanding Mathematics 8th edition.” The visual portion of the audiobook keeps glitching and certain diagrams are not displayed correctly. The PDF version of the textbook works correctly but it does not have audio. I have been using this Audiobook for three weeks now and this error has not been fixed. It is very disruptive to my learning for college. I had to pay $70 to have a loose-leaf physical version of my textbook which I ordered a week ago and it still has not shipped. I am also unable to print lessons or sample problems from my eTextbook as printing is blocked. Pearson is one of the hardest companies to work with. Professors should stop using their textbooks until they fix their Audiobooks and reasonably price the loose-leaf copies that they sell to students.

Pearson Review
After using other online text I feel that Pearson could do better. I have found that Pearson text do not automatically begin to play where you left off. Also, if I highlight information on the app it does not show up on the online version and vise versa. Something else that I am not fond of is, it doesn’t highlight or mark the current text that it is reading when using audio. Unfortunately this app could use a few upgrades to compete with some of the other platforms out there. All of that being said it’s much cheaper than buying the actual book. I would not discourage anyone from using this app, but don’t expect all of the bells and whistles that you get on similar apps.

Decent reading app
Pros - search function, access to videos, adjustable text size, hyperlinks to other pertinent sections of the book, cost (subscription $9.99/mo) is much less than renting or buying the book. Cons - navigation could use some improvements - sometimes swiping up causes it to move to the next section. Also, it doesn’t return you to where you left off in a section. When you leave the app briefly (ex: to access calculator), it automatically scrolls back to the top of the section instead of staying where you left off. Or if you click a hyperlink to briefly read another section and go back, you are not where you left off. Annoying, but not a deal-breaker. I will likely use again with future classes that require texts published by Pearson as it is pretty easy to use and less costly than other options. Ideally there would be a subscription service covering multiple publishers. I will likely use it again with future courses where the text is published by Pearson. My alternative is Ideally, would love a similar subscription service covering multiple publishers.

Irritating bugs on iPad
There are several bugs on iPad that make multitasking and usability challenging. First, if I’m scrolled to the middle of a chapter and change apps, I.e. to Goodnotes to look at my class notes, when I come back, it scrolls back to the top of the chapter and I lose my place. This happens with any app, and is very frustrating as I do homework and study. Second, the app now has started occasionally backing all the way out of the textbook when I task switch to another app. This has happened twice today, since an update recently happened. Third, When I have the index open and am moving back and forth between sections of a chapter (I.e. section 9.2, then to 9.6, then back to 9.2) the current section indicator shows the wrong chapter section, or will show two chapter sections are active and highlighted. Changing to a different one doesn’t help. The only way to fix that is to go to a completely different chapter and come back to refresh the page. I love the majority of the features of this app, more than the other major college textbook app, but these bugs make studying and homework more time consuming and frustrating.

THIS APP HAS ERRORS NEEDED TO BE FIXED
I am very disappointed with this new version of Pearson eText. It used to allow me to read the text in landscape mode, but now I cannot with this app. I am using iPad Pro 2020 and I am totally sure that I DO NOT LOCK THE SCREEN ROTATION. This is a big problem because it does not also allow us to read in split screen, which some of the reviews have already mentioned. Also, I COULD NOT READ THE TEXT IF MY IPAD IS IN DARK MODE. The background is dark and the text is also in black color which makes it impossible to read. I AM A BIG FAN OF PEARSON ETEXT SINCE IT HAS SO MANY FUNCTIONS THAT I CAN UTILIZE TO UNDERSTAND THE TEXT AND STUDY MY SUBJECTS. HOWEVER, I TRULY BELIVE THAT THESE ERRORS MUST BE FIXED. I hope that the developers of the app will consider these problems and do something to live up to the old version of the app, which is Pearson eText. This is not a “Plus” version. This is a “MINUS” version.

Frustratingly difficult to use
The user interface is incredibly frustrating and lacks many features you would expect from an e-book platform. The description states that the app allows for “offline” usage which is necessary for me since I am in a geographically remote area. In the first month had to re-download multiple times to be able to access the book and was unable to access more than one chapter at a time offline. Each time I would try to switch chapters I would get kicked out and left with an access error. I want to like this app but it just isn’t dependable for offline use. Unfortunately I have no other choice as the books I need are not available as Kindle downloads.

Over engineered
I hate this app. objectively it’s fine! it has the textbooks i need and i can highlight the text. that’s all i wanted. however its too engineered for its own good. the highlighting moves the text, every page needs to load and flashes when it does, when i highlight there’s a huge obtrusive box that i can’t figure out how to disable. i hate how the header and footer appears and disappears when i scroll. i wish they’d stay put. this app fills me with rage and if i thought to look for my textbooks on a different app i would not be using pearson. also i cant remove expired textbooks from my library. i have no need for them, im not in the class anymore, can I please remove them??? is there a simpler pearson textbook app that i can use?

The app is very buggy
There are multiple aggravating bugs I’ve observed in this app: 1) The eText only works on one device and never loads on the others 2) I’ll leave the app and come back to a completely different spot in my textbook, or 3) I’ll leave and come back to see all the numbers and symbols have increased in font 4) I cannot highlight symbols or any formulas (even within the actual text and not just a diagram) 5) I’ll tilt the screen of a hand-held device and the textbook will take me to a completely different unit or the symbols and numbers will enlarge 6) the audio is very spotty and doesn’t show you where in the book you’re at other than the chapter title 7) I’ll touch the screen and the size of everything except the diagrams will change and the screen will shake, even if my hand is perfectly still 8) The videos are very blurry for ~10-15 seconds each time 9) scrolling makes any audio spotty, whether on the audiobook or on other apps I’m using. These bugs have been exceedingly inconvenient for studying. I hope other people won’t experience these. Thank you.

Only one complaint so far
I have been using this with an Anatomy and Physiology course and I have really enjoyed it. It’s easy to navigate and the layout is great. But! I mainly use this for the audiobook feature of the text book. I have a long commute and need to be able to listen to the textbook while driving. In the beginning it was great but after an update I can no longer listen to the audio if my phone goes to sleep. The audio will not play unless the screen is on and active. This makes it impossible to listen to the whole chapter while doing something else. Very irritating. Other than that it’s the best textbook app I’ve used.

Needs page numbers
I had a good experience with this app, and I absolutely love the search capabilities because it helps me out. But one thing I can’t forgive it for is not having the page numbers on the textbook. I had an assignment where I had to answer certain questions from exact page numbers, and I had no idea what those questions were. I tried looking everywhere to get a page number and absolutely nothing popped up. I was fortunate to explain to my professor what was going on and she gave me the direct questions, but another professor deducts points from every assignment because I can’t cite direct pages; I can only cite chapters. Overall worth it, but it just needs page numbers to be perfect.

App is useless
I love the Pearson Plus website on my laptop. Highly recommend the subscription, and I’ve been telling everyone I know that is taking classes about it. It saved me $200 in one class alone. HOWEVER, the app is awful. You can not access the book to actually read the text at all. It just pulls up a blank page with a loading wheel, but the text never loads. I’ve deleted, redownloaded, updated the app. Nothing fixes this problem. I reached out to the feedback email provided by Pearson and have yet to get a response back. The audio is also an issue because it will only play one segment of the book over and over rather than starting the next part on its own. My textbook is written in many short sections that makeup a chapter so every couple of minutes I have to manually select the next part. Very annoying. Again, I love the Pearson Plus website on my actual laptop. The subscription service was a fantastic idea. I just hope these app issues get resolved quickly. Classes start next week, and I really depend on being able to read/listen to my textbook during my commutes to and from school and work.

A pleasure…
I usually use Pearson for math, so I actually didn’t know that it could be used for anything but; however, the bio class I am taking had a Pearson login. I saw that it was easier to get the app, and I actually really love it. It’s an easy on-the-go, automatically had a dark mode in place, which makes reading way easier, (my whole phone is in dark mode), and it’s SUPER EASY to navigate. I’m kind of really diggin’ it. Didn’t think I would be as excited not having a physical book, but this is better than anticipated. ♥️

Listening to textbook is lacking most important feature.
The application for iOS is quite rudimentary. For instance when the read aloud / listen along feature is used it does not track / or move along / indicate where you are on the page that is being read. Nor does it scroll the page to keep you oriented. This renders what would otherwise be a very useful feature a confusing mess should you lose your place on the page while listening along. Because I find this feature very important I may look to purchase my books from another vendor next term especially if they have a better implementation at the read along feature.

Almost Perfect
I am using this app on my iPad and it works almost perfectly. It makes reading from my textbook and quickly pulling info to write a report very easy. The only problem I have encoumtered is that after clicking an image to see an enlarged version, there is no visible X button to click out. This makes exiting said image very frustrating as I have to randomly swipe and tap at the screen to try and close it. This is very annoying and not intuitive at all. Devs, please fix it. Thanks.

This is a great app!
I was a bit hesitant about getting the E book verse the actual text book. I’m kinda old fashion sometimes when it comes to school, but I have been pleasantly surprised with the Chemistry book. There are some really neat features such as the auto read. I can have it read the text to me as I follow along. It also has a built in flash card/ question and answer section so once I’m through with the chapter I can test myself on key terms which helps me when taking the quizzes and test.

Awesome resource to have! I am taking human physiology and microbiology this semester. I love the audio feature. It helps from getting distracted while reading. When I don’t feel like reading the content myself, I just have it read to me as I follow along. This way I can pause and takes notes and not lose anything in the process. Reading the content yourself vs following alongside the audio is super helpful! I recommend this for everyone! All other features are also good to have.

Could be better
I really enjoy using the app. Makes it easier to read when you can follow along with the app reading. However it’s very distracting when the app reads the irrelevant info under the pictures in the book such as the copyright or the other info. It throws off the flow. Also the flash cards/quizzes need improvement. Would be better if they were all multiple choice like every medical test is. Or at least the option to choose multiple choice only. I hope these changes can be made soon.

At least the old app I could use on all devices
I can’t even use this app for the book I paid $100 for!! My only option is to sit in front of the computer on your garbage platform and read. What year are we in?? I cringe every time I see one of my professors says we’re using Pearson products. Downloaded the app on my phone and this textbook says not compatible for mobile viewing. Tried to download the app on my iPad and it says I need at least iOS 13 but my iPad says it’s up to date at 12.5….. so $100 to access my book electronically meaning more money for Pearson because no printing… and I can’t even access it on my convenient devices. What about the people that don’t have an actual computer? Get with the program Pearson!!!

I think it deserves 4 stars but i really have no reason not to give it 5, it does its job for me

I called back and got the same agent that pretend to be someone else. He asked for my email address to find my account but told me he was reading the other agent notes, I am like? What kind of etext doesn’t have page numbers?
I think the title says it all. Unfortunately, I was hoping this would be my go to for a text book but was extremely wrong. Navigating the textbook was awful! I couldn’t even find page numbers which is really important for doing assigned readings. The pages were hard to pinpoint what I was reading as well when it discussed photos that should be on that designated page (but wasn’t). I think the app needs an update for sure, don’t get me wrong there are great features on this app. However, the lack of page numbers and organization/correlation of the text with photos is what put me off. Oh, also trying to cancel a subscription felt like a journey in itself.

Scam
If I could rate Pearson Plus zero stars I would! I paid for a subscription thinking that I could cancel once I was done with my class since I didn’t need the 4 month subscription but they don’t a monthly option. I called customer service to cancel since I’m done with my class and no longer need the book, but they told me since it’s past the 2 week mark from when I purchased I can’t cancel the subscription, and will continue to be charged for the next two months. I’m not even using the book and have no need for it anymore so where the heck is the logic in that?! There is no logic. They are an absolute trash company just trying to take your money as a student, and I DO NOT RECOMMED PURCHASING FROM THEM!

Clunky Inefficient App
As a graduate student, my time is limited. I used this app instead of the company I typically order books from because I had a credit at the campus bookstore. Issues I encountered: 1) App makes you log in and out when switching from a laptop. 2) Searching key terms does not show the page next to the result. 3) Clunky navigation that does not intuitively open and read the book when you click on it. 4) Not easy to navigate back to the page after searching the index. I am frustrated enough to leave this review, hoping developers will improve the platform and others will not encounter these issues.

Enjoying, but…
I have really been enjoying being able to access my microbiology on the go when I can. I love the channels for supplemental learning as well. However, recently the channels have not been working and it keeps saying something about an error and ID, I have no idea what this means. It is also not working on my laptop, the page doesn’t load and eventually go to a oops that’s embarrassing page by Pearson. Really hoping it’s a temporary thing because I’ve been counting on it for extra studying help!

Lots of bugs, can’t use on more than 1 device
I like to read my text on my iPad, then listen to it on my iPhone while working out at the gym. Pearson makes me choose. My cynical side thinks it can err on the side of protecting unauthorized use over user satisfaction because… let’s face it, they sell to the universities, not the end user. Their greed or whatever else motivates their decision to not allow me to use it on both of my devices makes the profit motive in academics more obvious. Also it is buggy. It often freezes, jumps randomly to different places in the book, audio spotty, generally frustrating, as if a stem curriculum isn’t hard enough when all the tools are working.

No glitches!
After using the Cengage Read app last semester, this app is refreshing. Cengage had so many glitches, that it would constantly crash, and I kept having to reload it and I would have to find my place all over again. I have only read about 15 pages in this app so far, but I haven't experienced any glitches. And the highlighting, notes, and flash cards all work- unlike Cengage.

Very Useful! But…
It’s great to use the audio readings when I’m running too late to read but I still have my 35 min commute. I’m also happy that it doesn’t take up that much storage on my phone. It would be great if there was an option to skip reading over the images since the table and graph descriptions are so long and don’t really add much to my understanding. Perhaps a toggle option so people who enjoy having the images described don’t lose that feature. Add that in and it’ll be 5 stars from me!

Pages constantly jumping around as I try to read
If I scroll anything more than a snail’s pace pages start flipping randomly and I have to struggle to find where I left off. It’s even worse when using split screen on the iPad. Every little movement might flip the page when I don’t want it to, and flipping back and trying to scroll back down to where I was flips the pages back again. Very frustrating and not conducive to learning. I think it would be better if we had to tap an arrow in the corner to flip the page instead.

Getting better
Thank you for the improvements. Enabling landscape mode is a great addition. 👍. However, page display is still limited by the rigid zoom factor, fit to width and page. When in landscape mode, 2 pages are displayed instead of the page of interest. It would be great to manage page reading by also enabling the ability to control desired font size in addition to zoom factor. Lastly, sometimes the app would not load the book content correctly. It is stuck at the spinner, no content is loaded.

Disappointed
As an instructor you could imagine the amount of books I have. Yet I do not have the ability to remove books that are duplicates simply because of various courses that use the same books. And even worse, I cannot control their position. I have to constantly look for the book I need. Why not give the ability to reposition books we are currently using at the top, or change their order to current classes? And the landscape only showing 2 pages, not just 1 is just aggravating.

Horrible
I genuinely don’t know how the reviews are so high and I feel like many of them have to be fabricated. This app is so difficult, inconsistent, and I genuinely feel cheated. The Pearson books as well as the labs are far from cheap, and to not be able to access the materials when needed is just disappointing. When trying to use the textbooks, the app exits to the Home Screen anytime I use other apps. Also the pages don’t save my place even when bookmarked. Also, sometimes the app will not have anything to select when I open it and it will be stuck on one page. I wish this want a requirement from my program.

Here is 5 stars, can you work on my suggestions?
Ian a big fan of Pearson platforms, particularly mathematic platforms. I love the abundance of homework and Examples. I hope to keep on using Pearson for years to come. But if I would make a suggestion could you make an iPad app for the actual courses. This would help people who study on the go. I know the web version works on iPads. But I think the convenience of an iPad app would be a game changer.

Mobile
This app is good and I love having a mobile version of my textbooks but the touch interface makes it hard to use. If you touch the screen while in the middle of reading it will refresh the page and you will have to find your section again. The scroll bar on the side only goes away if you touch the screen in a particular way, otherwise it will cover text. Or if you dont touch the screen right it will refresh completely. You almost have to hold your breath. I almost think its easier to just use a computer.

Useless for iPad
The old was ok, but it worked. This new app does have cool features, but they are all useless if the app does not let me screen share with my notes taking app. My favorite part of the old app was that they let us split screen taking notes as it makes life easier. I think they are trying to get us to use their note taking section, but it is not as nice as a note taking app. I also like having all my notes together. Since I can’t split screen will be deleting as I have no use for this app. I am extremely upset because split screen sharing seems like a small feature, but in reality makes all the difference.
