Though not a new concept, this is a cable companies answer to it's antiquated DVRs and aged cable tv structure. They took a handful of good ideas and made a few a little better, but left out some major features. There is the ability to create sub accounts, but all recordings are stored (AND DELETED) as one thus defeating the point. This app lacks the ability to view a guide and schedule recordings, this must be done through TV based apps ONLY. Even though this is 2019 and cloud based storage has been around for YEARS now, they still give you ONLY 50 hours of record time no matter the level service you are paying for. I DO like the ideas behind a lot of the features in this app, but there is a LOT of room for improvements.
I almost don't know where to begin. But this app leaves much to be desired. Anytime you need to respond to a text. The TV goes to sleep. It will not minimize into a screen. You can still watch constantly turning it off and on. If you need to find a show in the future, you do not have a date button so that you can choose a date in the future. You literally have to scroll to that future date by hour until you get there and then select the program and then select to record it. if you like a sport and a specific sport team, you can record it in the way I just described when they give you an option to record the series is not just for that team. You literally have to subscribe to every football game there is instead of your favorite team. You cannot use this app away from your home Internet. They have an alternate "watch everywhere" app, but it is not the same interface. It literally just pulls up a few broadcast stations and you have to log into each of them separately. It is nowhere near every chance you have access to when you are at home not even close. I hope they're really working on it because this app and the watch anywhere website they just don't function well at all. I appreciate saving money but you really know why you're saving money, because the service is not as good.
To keep my cable service I had to switch to the streaming app. So far I feel like it’s not supported on my Apple TV. The picture goes from clear to blurry and pixelated. The other streaming apps I use this is never happened. Also cannot fast forward with the Apple TV remote unless I pause and skip forward.
Of all the streaming apps on my Apple TV this one is by far the worse. Why are the developers taking so long to update it? CBS program audio is out of sync with the video and there’s no way to fix it. Please catch up!
