Updated: It will take a while to figure out
Updated: After numerous steps, I did manage to find the way to add my statistics. The developer reached out to me in a polite and friendly way. I still think the app is more difficult than necessary to figure out for all the data. Perhaps find somebody on the development team’s grandma and make it so *she* can figure it out. 😝 Previous: I've been fooling with this app for about 45 minutes now. I cannot figure how to input my measurements manually. The app is unnecessarily complicated, unintuitive, and not user-friendly.

Company needs to finish fixing their latest updates
When I first started using this app and scale, I LOVED it. Then a few weeks ago they made the most awful and ridiculous changes. Everyone in my FB groups that had been using the app prior to the updates have become very frustrated and annoyed, especially with the changes that were made to the home/start screen. It was so awful that the FB support group for this product was filled with complaints. We kept being promised that due to user feedback they would bring back features that existed before. Finally, today at least one feature is back, the color coding of the data in the body composition screen. However, this latest update (6.6.6) I think it is, does not fix two issues. First, there is still a bug with displaying the correct starting weight in the “all” trend graph and the “year” trend graph. The second thing is on the home/start screen they have not put back the ability to see at a glance how much weight to lose to goal, body fat % to lose to goal, etc. Finish fixing things please and I can go back to this product and app being on my highly recommend list.

Messes up Bluetooth
This app somehow messes up the Bluetooth connectivity on my phone (both 13 pro and 14 pro). If you are having drop outs when playing music over BT (car, headphones , doesn't matter) you can probably fix it by removing Bluetooth access from this app and rebooting your phone. I spent months frustrated with BT dropouts. All music apps, in my car, multiple BT headphones all had dropouts at random times. I even wasted the money upgrading my 13 pro to a 14 pro thinking I had a hardware problem, and imagine my frustration when the problem happened on the new phone. I finally found advice online to disable all Bluetooth access and turn on apps one at a time. It turns out when this app has access and I’ve used the scale a few times the dropouts come back. I’ve since found other people in message threads about this problem who have tracked it to this app. I was previously using the now outdated Renpho app when I found this problem. I went months without using the scale and recently decided to try again with this new Renpho Health app. Same problem. Weighed in 3 times and had Bluetooth dropouts again despite not having a single drop out since I stopped using the old app.

Works, but could be better
It doesn’t use the WiFi in the scale to do background updates. You have to open the app to get the latest readings onto your phone and piped to the other apps you are actually using to monitor the data. It shouldn’t check frequently to save battery in the scale and the phone; so, having the check frequency settable would be good. I would probably pick the once a day… The app user can’t remove the annoying and time consuming weight and BMI animations when you configure the scale. They are cute the first couple of times, but a waste of time after that. Speaking of BMI, it is nearly total junk science. It’s just your weight times your height. Given that height doesn’t change, it’s exactly the same as tracking your weight. It’s also a poor indicator for individual health: if you don’t believe me, compute the BMI for any NFL football team. The BMIs will claim they are all unhealthy! BMI has some usefulness for statistical analysis, but it’s too wildly variable to use to assess an individual’s health.

couldn’t be better
I was kind of nervous coming to download the app and seeing the lack of stars on reviews and I’m so happy to say they’re all wrong. I absolutely love the app and the scale… for the price it’s not even possible to utter a complaint. The app has the most amazing, positive, and super active community ever. I expected it to be sort of dead but no! it’s so active and everyone is nice and funny. I love that the app has a pink theme! I literally love everything and I’m so thankful. This scale has made it seem 10x more possible to reach my health and fitness goals. The data is consistent and it feels accurate. I can’t wait to buy the jump rope. I don’t think I got the scale that lets me weigh my pets, just a baby. I wish I had gotten the one that does pets too because I don’t have a baby :( but I do have the girl version of garfield so yeah. but anyways, i’m in love thanks so much <3

Old app is better
The new app is OK, but I think the old app is better. My age is between 35-40 so I am by no means challenged or technologically illiterate when it comes to using apps, yet this new version seems to be a bit of a PITA compared to the older version. For instance, the ability to select historical data for comparison seems like it’s gone. The only way I can see is to export all the data to my device and then do a manual comparison. Seriously? For instance, say I want an instant comparison graph of my current measurements compared to historical data side by side. The old app gave that to you easily. The new app? Nada. New versions are supposed to be improvements, not setbacks. Anyway I just continue using the old app as it still works with my scale thankfully. I use the new app too just in case they eventually delete or erase the old app’s data. To the developers: If it ain’t broke don’t fix it…

Great concept buggy execution
I dare you to try to re-measure yourself. It worked intuitively and easily the first time I used it, but I just tried to re-measure myself (two weeks later), and it’s an exercise in frustration. What I see is that instead of (as it did the first run-through) walking me through the full body of measurements, it would SHOW that it was ready for the next measurement, but when I would move the tape to that part of my body, measure, and then press the check/confirm button on the device it would suddenly say something about modifying data—and not only would my new measurement not be stored in the appropriate box in the app UI (chest, arms, thighs, whatever), but previous measurements entered for other body parts would suddenly be missing. I really tried to figure out how to work around this bug, but ultimately gave up after half an hour. Please fix, developers, and I’ll update my review.

Great for logging information
I really enjoy using my scale the app, pairing is fairly simple and only takes a few seconds to complete. The app has allowed me to monitor all of my data for years now and has been great for keeping track of my weight and body fat percentage. I can view all of my history and even use the trends section to see my data placed into a graph for visual reference. I do wish that I could set the weight page as my default page when I open the app as it would simplify things quite a bit, as the scale is the only product I own at this time.

Not for use with multiple people
The app “technically” allows for multiple people, but setup for it is very hard and important features are missing when I’m guessing it’s a VERY common use case. What I mean by technically is that your partner can weigh themselves and it does suggest that it isn’t your weight (so at least it won’t mess up my tracking), but I can’t find any way to access anyone else’s metric history but my own. I can only see my own charts and history, but nobody else’s, only their most recent weight. Super annoying. Also, I’m not sure if this is possible, but the Bluetooth connection forcing me to have my app open when weighing myself is annoying. What would be much better is if the device can store the data on board and then transfer it via Bluetooth when I have the app open once a week or something like that. I usually weigh myself in the morning and don’t always have my phone in the bathroom with me. I understand that might not be possible, but please at least build functionality for multiple people to be able to track their progress and metrics over time, not just one person.

Needs work
I like the old app better..I just recently purchased a new scale (have had it for about a month) & sadly it can only be connected using this newer “updated” app. It doesn’t connect well with my Apple Watch (sometimes it won’t connect at all) so I can’t take my weight & have it easily stored like I would when using the older app & scale. I hate that I can’t connect the scale to the older app because it was so much easier & ran smoother, I used my watch every time & the measurements would just be waiting until I accessed the actual app on my phone, nothing was ever lost…hopefully this app will have an update soon so that it can be useful it’s unfortunately too late for me to return the scale

Not So Great
One of the things I liked most about the old app is that all of your information was on one screen. Having to individually click through weight, BMI, body fat, metabolic age, etc is not efficient. I understand clicking individually to see trends, but the at-a-glance view of the most recent numbers is really lacking in this new app. The same goes for measurements/ circumstance. Why isn’t there a way to see all of my latest measurements on my screen? Also, this seemingly took away the ability to be connected with one’s person community (family and friends) and added a “community” tab full of strangers. New app looks nice, but is definitely lacking in areas that the old app possessed.

👎🏻👎🏻New version upgrade 👎🏻👎🏻
VERY disappointed in their app’s new version upgrade. Makes me wish I had purchased a different scale that used a different app. I do not recommend Renpho based upon my negative experience this morning. Until the version upgrade this morning, the app kept a 7-month record of my weight loss. The upgrade erased ALL seven months! 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 The welcome screen this morning touted the upgrade’s features and gave me the option of sticking with the old version or upgrading. What it didn’t say was that upgrading would erase all of my 7 months of history without any option of retrieving it. That was irresponsible on their part. I’m disgusted and upset. 🤢😡

Card Management Feature
This app is awesome. Recommend it to everyone. As a long time user I have a feature I’d like to see. The card management feature is sorely lacking guys. It should be enabled it such a way that the user can customize the cards as they see fit whether it be chest measurement, ab measurement, weight, muscle mass, bf% and so on. Waist hip ratio is enabled and seems very random. I am sure it is an important metric to many, but to many it is not. Would be great if your team can enhance this feature. Btw, I have a career as a Product Owner. ;)

Very happy
The scale and app work great. I mainly look at my body weight, but there is so much more there if you want to really get into it. I love the trend graph to see if I am going the right or wrong way and if I need to adjust my lifestyle. It would be nice if it handled more than one person better. If both phones are within range it sometimes picks up my wife or the opposite when she is on it. If there is the ability to set a daily reminder I have not seen it, but if not that would be a nice to have.

Best scale I’ve had
I literally use this scale every day and it has tracked my weight loss for the past 2.5 years. I also have the tape measure so I can track my inches lost too. The seamless syncing to my phone is the greatest part of it. I can easily look back at any day to see what my weight was. It also syncs to my app I use to track macros and to the Apple health app. You get all those premium features for a one time purchase cost without a subscription. If you’re on the fence about purchasing, DO IT!

Multi user issue
My wife weight gets “intelligently” assigned to me. I cannot find a way to move it to her data. Otherwise it a nice program. While I can delete from mine and manually add to my wife, it will never do it automatically until our weight difference exceeds the programs setting for “intelligently” assigning. There should be option to turn it off or transfer settings between users! Old app was better and full screen on iPad!

Works as advertised, just not user friendly
I’ve been using Renpho products for several years and have never had an issue with the old app. The landing page was great and gave you all your measurements in one spot. The new app forces you to go from the landing page to a different page then click through each measurement to see what it is. Just give us all the measurements in one slide!! Just like it was before. New app is not user friendly and not for me. I’m going to start researching now to see what other options are out there for when they discontinue the old version of the app.

I like the old version
I am so bummed I switched to the new version of the app. I really miss seeing my measurements color coded and being able to compare from past measurements more easily. It was much more intuitive and easy to read. I love the scale and all of the data but the new layout is terrible.

Like the scale, but the app no
The app has been a bit disappointing for me. Even with the new version, it still feels difficult to navigate, especially when trying to find settings. One thing that stands out is that it doesn’t provide an accurate number for weight loss, as it seems to rely on an average rather than actual progress. As someone who works in systems, I understand the importance of user-friendly design, and it feels like the developers may not be fully considering the user experience. While I’m sure they’re testing it, it doesn't quite feel like they’re approaching it from a user's perspective.

Seems not to do what it says it does. App interface is mostly good though.
This app seems to have bogus measurement other than weight. My body fat when I went to the gym and took it professionally was 10% lower, that’s huge! For body fat percentage, that’s a ridiculous discrepancy. Every number just goes down or up when you lose or gain weight. All the different metrics just measure weight or inverse weight, which I don’t think that’s how it works…..I’m wondering if they just found some correlations in some studies and extrapolated all the measurements from the single weight measurement….

Older Renpho app is more user friendly
I used to love how simple the landing screen on old Renpho app was - always brought me to the dashboard with all measurements visible and when I tapped on trends it would let me scroll to all pas measurements. On the new app, it defaults me to a screen that just shows weight and the scale. Only when I tap on scale it takes me to that single screen dashboard. Similarly for trends, it just defaults to month and I have to manually tap all — who designed this? Why did you make your most used flows gain # clicks?

New version
I have been on a weight loss journey using the old version of the app. They did not say when they tell you to upgrade to the New version that you will lose all of your history. You also lose the ability to see red yellow or green if you are in a good zone or not for each one of your functions that they are tracking. you now need to scroll through multiple screens to see if you are up or down or if you’re in a good position or a bad position. The new version is horrible. Do not upgrade to it. The old version was excellent. Don’t know why they changed.

Bluetooth problems
Amazing that Apple lets this app continue to operate when it’s been known for ages that this app interrupts Bluetooth audio connectivity from other apps. This supposed health app has made taking walks or going to the gym a sensory and mental nightmare because my Bluetooth connection keeps cutting out for 5-10 seconds at a time while I’m listening to podcasts, books, or music specifically due to this app. Edit: Ignore the response from the developer under this review. Turning off background refresh does not help. The only the thing helps is turning off Bluetooth for the app or removing it entirely.

Great Health Tool
I love being able to see not only my weight, but my percentage of water, fat, bone and muscle weights. besides my BMI and biological age. I have found it very helpful and encouraging! I like focusing more on my bone and muscle and water weight than on my fat percentages. Although, it’s interesting to see the different types of fat and watch them go down as I increase muscle weight and eat according to my BMR.

Fake reviews
Update: They doubled down and defended their shady practices so I looked deeper. There are many examples of mass 5 star reviews that all appear on the same days. They are clearly faked to improve the app rating. Avoid this dishonest company and their questionable products at all costs! Original: All of the 20+ reviews on Feb 22nd are 5 star. Most other reviews are 1-2 stars and are much less clumped together date wise. Such an obvious attempt to increase the app rating and fool potential buyers. Why not make the app and products good so they can generate natural good reviews? Buyer beware.

Terms have changed
I love this app and scale! I haven’t checked in a few months, but just realized the terms for your weight have changed from “obese” to “fat.” I’m not typically one who is offended by many things but this seemed really extreme. Yes, my weight is above being overweight but fat?! Even the CDC and WHO use underweight, normal, overweight and obese. Not sure why the developers have chosen “fat” but that’s not OK. That can be very triggering for someone who struggles with their weight.

Awful
Loved the old app. Never had an issue. This new one will not hold my information from my last weigh in. It’s happened 3 weeks in a row. I get on and all the previous information is deleted from my history. So I have no trends, nothing to show me how much I’ve gained or lost because it’s like I’ve stepped on for the first time. So disappointing. I’ve used the previous app and it was great. I don’t understand why the change to this one that does not work. I will have to look for another scale and an app that works with it.

Hate this updated app
I don’t know why they upgraded it to a different app. This app is worse in every way. Not easier to use, so I deleted it and I’m continuing to use the older one. The original app is so much easier, plus, I can go way back to when I started losing weight as my starting weight. The older app is absolutely wonderful and I love it. This app, when I put the date where I want it to start my journey, it doesn’t stay. I emailed them and the reply was this app is better in every way. Not so.

Old App was Better
I’ve been using Renpho and this app for quite some time. Since the old app was discontinued, and we had to start using the new app, I am less happy. Works fine as a sale but…
I don’t actually think it measures anything beyond how much you weight. I think it has predetermined measurements (BF, Water, Protein, etc…) for every weight. It said a weight I had 3 weeks ago and a weight I weighed today (they were the same weight) had the exact same BF, water composition, Protein. Etc…

Does not measure body fat! Only uses BMI
Try weighing yourself and then hold a solid steel dumbbell and weigh again. Body fat should go down or at least stay the same, but it doesn’t. It goes up! I was busting my but at the gym, losing inches around my waist and belly but my weight was staying the same, (because muscle weighs more than fat) and even though I got to the point where you could see a six pack my body fat was still at 15% because my weight hadn’t changed.
