Constantly logs you out
The scale itself is nice and seems to be accurate, but every single day I need to log back into the app, which is very annoying and also makes it so that you need to bring the phone into the bathroom with you anytime you use the scale. I had another wifi scale that would automatically record your weight anytime you used it and that is what I was hoping this scale did but unfortunately it does not since it always logs you out. Fortunately it does store your password, but it is very annoying. First you need to acknowledge the session has expired button. Then you need to hit the logon button, which takes you to the logon screen, where you again have to hit logon. Then when you get in you have to dismiss the annoying connect to fitbit message. So that is 4 steps I need to take whenever I want to use the scale.

Only minor bugs - fantastic otherwise!!
When you first set up your account - which I had no trouble with - you select units. I selected lbs for weight/mass. When I did my first weigh, though, the app was showing #st#lb. People don't realize that st means stone, which is 14 lb. It's not used in the U.S., but it is still used in the U.K. It is still a form of measurement with lbs. Then I realized the app didn't save my unit setting correctly when I set it up, so I just went back in and set it to lbs again, and it held. A little bit of patience to locate and check the unit settings could have made this app a better experience for other reviewers who didn't know what st meant. This app communicates seamlessly with LoseIt and Fitbit and Apple Health. I no longer have to enter my weight or any other of the metrics manually anywhere. THAT is impressive. Fitbit doesn't even bother doing this! My biggest concern would be that connectivity, and Renpho works just as I hoped it would. The measurements and values themselves are consistent with a recent body composition analysis I had at my gym. The app is aesthetically pleasing, and you can choose your color scheme. Most of the screens and accessing data and charts are fairly straightforward. You can even look at trends based on time of day of the measurements. I'm very pleased with both the app and the scale.

Weight does not show on app
I purchased this scale to replace my Aria as it was an original Aria scale and has just aged over the years. Unfortunately the scale has severely disappointed me with its inability to record data to the app. Both the app and the scale recognize with a symbol that a Bluetooth connection has been established, however after weighing in, the app simply shows “- - -“ where the all the data should be. Customer service has been very responsive, however i tried everything they told me to try (didn’t work), and then when I responded to them letting them know and gave them all the information they requested, they responded with an almost identical email asking me to do the exact same things. My guess is they outsourced customer service and the CS team copy and pastes pre-written solutions to problems so they can respond quickly, however the responses prove to not be helpful at all, thus eliminating the purpose for having the “Customer Service”. I like the idea of this scale, however there is no reason to have a “smart” scale if it cannot record the data for you. I’ll give it until the end of the weekend to hopefully be able to figure out what’s going on and if not... I’ll have to just purchase the Aria 2 and recommend all of you do the same.

pretty useful
i personally don’t know how accurate the extra data about your body fat, fat free body weight, etc. is so i don’t really pay much attention to those but i do have the bluetooth scale and bluetooth tape measurer and they work well and i haven’t had any problems with either of them. i primarily use the app to keep track of my weight and body measurements while ignoring all of the extra stuff and it’s extremely useful. you can see on the graphs and compare the changes in each separate category for both weight and circumference. i’ve also noticed that you can add a baby as a member but seeing as i don’t have a child i don’t know much about it but that’s there if anyone was curious. overall good app for tracking weight and measurements. also i LOVE that it’s all completely FREE. there are no subscriptions or anything. if you don’t have the bluetooth scale or measurer you can use the MANUAL IMPUT. so there’s no need to spend any money on a new scale if you already have a decent working one.

Useless
I had such high hopes for a smart scale. I needed a lot more detail than just simple weight and thought this was a perfect choice. It was given to me as a gift and I was very happy initially, But the percentages that it gives you are dangerously inaccurate. I weigh 174 and I am 5’9” tall. If I actually had the fat percentage that this said that I would need to be at 5-7% body fat, I would be dead. It currently lists my fat free weight as 130 pounds. Seriously. It also does not calculate BMI correctly and adds any change to your weight as fat rather than distinguishing between fat and muscle as it is fraudulently advertised. I have emailed and attempted to communicate with the company about this repeatedly and all they ever say is if you are unhappy with your purchase you can return it at any time. They don’t even try to deny that it is broken. What was sold to my family as a smart scale to surprise me with is nothing more then a regular scale with distracting special effects and bells and whistle’s that don’t correlate to reality. RENPHO should be ashamed of itself For continuing to market this product as if it had an ability to correctly read your body mass index and muscle through your feet. It is fraud and bulls***. Very very very disappointed.

Not as convenient as it used to be
This app used to be great but it looks like they’ve removed a feature a few updates back that has made using this app very inconvenient. In the past, you could weigh yourself without having to open the app on your phone and the data would automatically transfer onto it the next time that you open it with the scale nearby. Now, the app will not receive the data unless you open it on your phone while you are weighing yourself. This means you can no longer queue your measurements like before. You have to bring your phone with you into the bathroom, open the app up, and then weigh yourself for the measurement to go through. I have ran the bluetooth anomaly detection with no abnormalities. I even removed and then added my scale back to the app to see if that would fix it but it’s still the same. I don’t think the issue is with the scale because it reads the measurement like normal and it still sends the data to the app when you open it on your phone. It’s just that the app is not accepting any measurements that are queued like it used to. Please bring back this feature in your next update!

Good Scale readings a bit Quirky
Just got the scale this past Saturday and though I’m still overweight I have been exercising regularly over the past few months. So I first tried “athlete” mode and I had only lost 1.1 lbs from when I weighed myself from the previous week, which was kinda surprising because I had started keto and I did more steps I had done ever over the past few months of working out. So I switched it over to “regular” mode and the scale dropped an additional 2.5 lbs!!!🤔 So I’m confused as to how switching the mode of this scale actually changes your weight! I’m pretty sure peoples weight is the same regardless of athlete or regular mode 🤷🏽‍♀️. Body fat %, muscle mass, etc should change but it doesn’t change what you actually weigh! So after switching to regular mode everything is great, I love that it syncs to my fitbit that’s so awesome! But if you are using athlete mode know that you’re almost 3 lbs lighter than the scale is reading. Please fix this RENPHO.

No way to hide your data? Insanity - UPDATE
UPDATE: Thank you to the developer for responding quickly. I deleted my account and started over creating an account on my phone as instructed. Now we can all use the scale while keeping our data hidden from family members. I have adjusted the rating from 1* to 4* accordingly. There appears to be no way to hide your data from other people in your family. A family of four should easily be able to have 4 accounts and each person should have access to their own data, not everyone’s. That does not appear to be the case. If my wife wants to follow her progress and share it with me, then by all means... make that an option. But the fact that keeping your own data to yourself is NOT an option is laughable. Completely unusable from my perspective. Would change to 4 or maybe 5 stars if this simple and obvious change was implemented.

Love this app
This app works great! I usually weigh myself when I first wake up (before showering because that delays me and I usually drink plenty of water when I wake up). I weigh in approximately the same time each morning, before eating or drinking anything. I’ve found that dust or dirt will interrupt your readings, so before stepping on the scale, I wipe both feet to clean off any loose dirt or dust. I would’ve given it 5 stars except for 2 minor things: 1) once you enter a measurement, you can’t really edit it. I did my shoulders with a full 360 degree measurement but the second time I did my shoulder measurement, I did shoulder width across (which is what I think it’s supposed to be. The graph showed a high loss in inches so I tried to edit the first measurement but couldn’t. I then added a measurement for that date thinking it would overweight the incorrect info, but the graph still shows the original info. 2) minor, but I like to compare all of my data to previous dates, I can see the basics (weight, BMI, Body fat but I’d love to see a comparison of all the data as I find the data very important. As I said, very minor, otherwise this app is great!!! One suggestion aside from these 2 items, my weight will transfer to my other apps, but I’d love it if my measurements could as well!

UPDATE: Scale and app work great!!!
I can now enter my body part measurements manually!!!! That was a fast response to my original critique! Thanks Renpho! Now if it would be possible to add in the ability keep track of body measurements for both left and right thighs, calves and biceps would be great to allow a focus on symmetry as well. Original review: Scale works but app has some glitches I was so excited to receive my new scale, especially for the body fat measurements. I was pleasantly surprised to see an option to input and keep track of circumference measurements of different body parts i.e. waist, thigh etc. Alas, the app does not let me input a value for these because the scrolling measuring tape at the bottom does not work. So far, I really like the scale but the app not working fully is a disappointment. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

Friends feature suggestion
Great app, especially for the weight/scale. For the circumference/body tape, I feel like descriptions similar to what was done in the weight (whether our values are low, average, or high for our age group) would improve its value to the customer. One area where I feel this app lags is with the friends feature. Though you can add friends and see their stats, there is no easy way to compare our stats to our friends (ie. viewing both on the same screen). Scrolling through friends stats without a point of reference (ie. our own stats) makes the experience less meaningful or worth doing. I’ve found it fun to compare my measurements with other friends and family members and feel like the ability to view our stats along with theirs on the same page would greatly add to the functionality of the app.

Regularly loses sign in info used in guest mode.
I will end up returning this. The scale essentially only functions as a weight scale without the app, which I will only agree to use in guest mode given the privacy terms they lay out in their agreement. It doesn’t stay logged in and locks my login out after a few days, never to be retrieved again since their password recovery option doesn’t appear to work (even though I use 1Password and know I have the correct info). There is no true guest mode. When you download the app your choices are sign up or sign in, and there is no way to see information without giving an email and password. That is not a “guest” mode. Not sure it even matters to use a fake email, since password recovery only seems to work if you have a full account, not guest. The idea that my whole family would have to share a single device paired with this scale has been more of a pain than I initially thought. So everyone has lost their data 3 times in the short time we have owned the scale.

The Newer Scale Models are Best
This scale is perfect! However I do warn NOT to switch the settings to athletic mode even though you might be working out 4 or more times a week. The athletic model will not show you your accurate body fat percentage. (It will guess lower than you truly are). I’d best leave this setting alone and aside for the body builders and not any other athletes. Also I’ve had an older model I believe and it wasn’t hitting the same weight when testing the scale. This might be where the bad reviews are coming from or it might have been low on batteries. 🤷‍♀️ Just check your weight twice in a row of your scale seems to be faulty. If faulty change the batteries. If it’s still an issue buy yourself a new scale. The new scales aren’t bad and super accurate 🙂

Review of the app with the scale-Bluetooth pairing with the scale
The most confusing part of the setup of the scale that this app is for is the Bluetooth pairing. You have to pair with the scale from inside the app. Not from the Bluetooth setting of your IPhone. What is really strange is that even after the app is connected with the scale, the iPhone Bluetooth setting does not acknowledge that it is paired with the scale! The 2nd crazy thing that happened to me was that my weight was registered as an odd number with "st" in the middle! It was puzzling. I learned later from reading an earlier review that "st" is short for Stone which is a unit of measure for weight in the United Kingdom! I had to go back in the app settings and set weight unit to lbs. Even though I remember that I had selected lbs initially. After you overcome these hurdles you will most likely like the product. Three stars for the problematic initial setup.

Great Scale, Nice App
Very happy with my purchase. The scale works well and provides a plethora of data. It works seamlessly with the app, which needs to be open on your device when using the scale. Initially it was only giving me weight & BMI but that was because I stepped off of the scale too quickly. Now I get the full data. When the phone makes a tone it tells me the data has been fully collected. Always room for improvements, the text below the trends chart icons are light grey and a teeny tiny font that I literally can’t read what they are measuring. Changing the theme didn’t help. Please darken (or enlarge) the words below the icons so we can know what measurement the graph is sharing. Other than this small tweak you have an elegant and very useful app. Well done.

Fabricated metrics & UI Needs Improvement
The 12 or so metrics besides weight are just your weight scaled & rounded a bit. They are all directly correlated. E.g. even if you weight lift and gain mostly muscle, it will say your body fat has increased because your weight increased. Having those other metrics when the scale is most definitely not capable of measuring them (e.g visceral fat & bone mass) is deceitful. The trend graphs don’t use a linear scale. The tick marks on the x axis are each day you added a measurement which is not very useful for seeing progress over time. The x axis scale should be a linear range of dates so the space between measurements corresponds with the time between them. Edit: They did fix the bug where when tapping the left tab, the screen slides to the right and vice versa.

Sadly disappointed
I purchased this scale because it came with an app and it seemed like so many amazing benefits. For quite some time I’ve been disappointed because I’ve attempted to go back and pull up my stats from when I first begin my journey to compare it to where I am now and I am not able to do so. It would be great if when I went back to the date I first started, my previous stats would pop up on the main screen, for me to review and possibly screen shot if I’d like to, the same way my current stats are displayed. I guess it’s just wishful thinking or I’ll need to purchase a new scale with this type of capabilities. I really don’t want to have to do that. I hope it’s just a minor update you guys are able to add or adjust to the app. If so I would continue to be a loyal customer and purchase more scales and items to come! I’d also change my 1 star to a 5 star!

Easy to use, lots of metrics
I am loving my RENPHO scale and have been using it for about a month to measure my fitness efforts to lose fat. My favorite things about it are the metrics showing my place in the range of healthy values, and the charts. I wish the graphs would capture and show muscle mass over time. One area people who are losing weight are very concerned about is how much weight they’re losing is fat versus muscle. Everyone wants to lose fat and gain muscle. It also helps encourage dieters who may not be losing weight but see that they are gaining muscle. Skeletal muscle on the graph view is not as important to me and could be eliminated in my opinion if needed. I think if you added the muscle mass weight graph view this would be a 5 Star app. Thank you for helping me with my weight loss goals!

So far so good
I just received the scale. Set up was easy, although I was waiting for the “Renpho” or something to that affect to come up on my On Bluetooth list (iPhone) , and it never came up after I loaded the batteries. So I ended up just stepping in the scale to weigh myself and (literal) DING!!! My weight was automatically loaded into the app 🙌. So heads up, you won’t see the scale in your Bluetooth list, it’s automatically connected once you give permission to Allow connection ( duh right?) But anyways, cool app , though it took me a second to figure out how to delete a reading. Then I saw “Select Data” and then it was common sense from there (sometimes you have those duh moments🤷🏽‍♀️). So 👍👍 so far.

Slightly Disappointed
Whereas this scale is pretty cool if you are JUST losing fat, if you are trying to gain MUSCLE, it will just record that you are getting fatter, not more muscular. I am a guy who used this scale to rip down to 170lbs and for that, it was awesome. Problem was, I wanted to use the NEXT two months (same low carb diet) to hit the weights HARD so that any weight I gained... I knew would be muscle. No bueno. According to this scale, the first week, I gained 2 lbs of fat and THAT was discouraging because I am ripped and could SEE the muscle gain. Very optimistically skeptical in the beginning to even think that this company could calculate all of that data simply from the bottoms of your feet but that IS how they marketed it so slightly disappointed that I can’t use it the way it was marketed.

A time-saving tool to get or stay healthy
Before this scale, I wouldn’t weigh myself very often, and ended up gaining weight quickly without even noticing. This scale has made it so much easier to keep track, and I’m not doing that yo-yo anymore! The scale requires so little work to document so much data, and then links directly to Apple health, FitBit, and more. The only hesitation I had in purchasing the scale was that you have to open the app for the readings to sink, but since I have my phone on me most of the time anyway, that has not proven to be a problem at all. The much more accessible price tag is well worth having to open an app when you step on the scale.

This scale is awesome
I just received this scale - it shipped super fast. Not sure why people may have had an issue installing the batteries, it’s very easy, just push down the little door, install batteries (included), push door up. Done. You can easily find and download the app in the App Store. Pairing the device took no more than 3 tries. You have to get the timing right (start pairing the device, when you see it show up on the screen, step on the scale and THEN tap the device icon. If you do the sequence correctly, it’s seamless) Yes, at first it showed my weight in stones, but it’s so easy to switch between measurement units that I wouldn’t even have mentioned this as an “issue”. At first it only showed my weight and BMI, but then I realized you have to step on the scale with your bare feet so the sensors can scan you for the rest of the measurements. (The scale was ice cold when it arrived - it’s proper winter outside). Once I took my weight with bare feet, it immediately took all the measurements. I love this scale, it’s great, and I’d recommend it to anyone.

Measurement Reminders
For the most part the scale is what I expected. I do have 2 issues. 1) The measurement reminders are daily. I’m not measuring myself daily because that’s just idiotic. Your measurements aren’t changing that drastically and you can’t customize how often only the time. This is a wasted feature. It would be nice if I could set my measurement reminders to weekly or whenever I like. This really needs to be changed or just remove it all together. 2) My weight only records if I have the phone in my my hand or right next to me when I weigh myself. Which is annoying. My scale is in my bathroom which is less that 2 feet from my bedroom. I never take my phone to the bathroom so if I check my weight first thing in the am without my phone I have to redo it.

Text size and color
I think the scale and app work very well together, however the text size and color are very difficult to read. I would like to see the interface more like that on the Fittrack app. It is much easier to read. I would like the option to increase or decrease the font size and also change the font color. It would also be nice to be able to customize the dashboard or add a page to move seldom used tiles to. If the number of tiles were reduced then the font size could be set to a larger font. Other than this, I have enjoyed using the app and I have had no problems with it. If these options were added I will change my review to 5 stars.

Works well
My wife and I got this scale as a Christmas gift from our daughter. We decided to start intermittent daily fasting on 1/1/20 to lose a few pounds. After using it for 2 weeks we really like the scale and app. Having our weight and other info automatically updated on our phones is fantastic. It’s great to see our weight changes and the trends graph. Besides weight it also tracks other body measurements. Clicking on these shows where you are compared to “normal”. It’s really has help us learn more about our bodies and has lead us to discussing what we eat and when we eat to reach our weight and body fat goals.

WAS pretty good
Somewhere around mid December ‘18 my Apple health app started (seemingly) randomly logging 1850 calories burned in a single hour under the Resting Energy tab. This is about 1700 calories more than any other hour of the day. I couldn’t figure it out because it didn’t happen everyday and when it did it only logged this spike 1 time per day. I searched high and low in Apple help pages, scoured the internet, deleted all other Health-linked apps and nothing. No answers anywhere. Until Now. Today I checked my Resting Energy in the Health app and all was normal. I took a shower, weighed myself and just happened to check my Resting Energy... you guessed it, that hour showed a 1800 calorie spike. I went back and checked everyday for the last 3 months. Every day from December 18th through today was flawed-when I used this scale and app to weigh myself I got the 1800 calorie spike. Everyday that I skipped weighing myself, the health app behaved perfectly normal. Before December 18th, the scale, the app and the Health app played nicely. I’m guessing that they had a bug in an update somewhere around December 18th that has yet to be fixed. Bummer, I only chose this scale because of its ability to sync with Apple Health. I hope they fix soo. So I can update my rating.

Feature request
I have the scale and the tape measure. Super happy with both! I just wish that I could also add wrist and ankle measurements in the app. Maybe for most people those don’t change much, but mine do. Very excellent products and money well spent. I was paying an expensive membership fee mostly for the monthly inBody scans... this isn’t as in depth as that, but it’s much more affordable and i can justify spending on a comprehensive scan every 6ish months if I want more information. This does just fine for my daily/weekly/monthly self tracking. I still see and measure progress well enough for my needs.

Wifi..where are you?
I am trying to use the app with an Es-BR001 scale and the docs say that after I connect Bluetooth and take a measurement the app will ask me to connect wifi. Or, I am supposed to be able to go under device mgmt and set it up. The app never asks me about wifi and the entry in device management doesn’t have the wifi icon like they say it should and I can’t click on it. So, I can’t setup wifi and actually test this out. I’ll probably delete the app and send the scale back. Update: I have completed all the steps from the developer response, but the scale never shows a wifi icon and never prompts me to enter wifi information. I have 1 user in the app and completed a BT pairing and then sync. Still nothing.

Does not work as well as I thought.
I bought this scale 3 years back used it few times. I dig it. Its been a while so I decided to scale myself again. It shows that I’ve gained some pounds which I’m motivated to shred it off. I normally work out 5 days a week but understood that I could be more careful with my intake. I been keeping up with my calories and macros. I even workout 6x a week or even workout 2x a day (once a twice) through out the week. I also prep my meals for the week. I gave it a month before I hop on the scale again. I feel great and I look great, but I was a bit disappointed when I check my weight this morning. I was not disappointed at myself but i believe this scale and app is not accurate. The percentage of my body fat on the app was higher than a month before! Hmmmm.... I honestly don’t think I will use this app anymore.

Body fat option only please!
I love this scale. BUT I wish there was a way to not see your weight and only your body fat. Although I know it’s not 100% accurate and just a rough estimate on body fat I really wish there was a body fat ONLY option. I wish you could close your eyes on the scale but have the app set up to only have the stats you want to see. Like I would have the main number in the circle my body fat. Then I would check the boxes that have the stats I want to keep track of like BMI and muscle mass. My weight fluctuates so much I’d love to just track BF only. Might keep me from smashing it to pieces one day. Lol

Has been invaluable to lose weight.
I paired this app with the Renpho weight scale (pretty sure this app is only useful if you have one) and it has kept track of ALL of my measurements, it does show you a few other things like your body muscle and body fat (but I do wonder just how accurate it is, simply doubts that a scale in general can do it) I can see all my progress; 20 pounds down since may.... and it helps big time, occasionally the scale needs a 2nd weigh when I step on it suddenly but I’ve had it for probably 2 years now and I’m very happy with the quality of the low to mid price... 5 stars

Good scale but charts need work
The reading from scale transfers well to the application, but what is up with the tiny chart axis markings?! There is a lots of room to have a larger size fonts… I can’t read these even with reading glasses. The x axis needs to show proper distribution when you weigh yourself. If you take 6 arbitrary readings in a year, show x axis with 12 months evenly spaced apart then place dots with actual date when you do readings. I skipped 3 months of weighing and it shows on a chart like I lost weight in a single month... very misleading trend presentation. Obviously, same logic fixes are needed for weekly readings. Disappointing, since it’s such an easy fix. Each user is better off to write a number into excel table, tied to a chart.

Not all areas function
I have had the app for one week and have used it daily. I can keep track of my weight loss and how it pertains to visceral fat, bone, muscle and water weight. It even gives a metabolic age. It was an easy set up and works beautifully with my scale. I was very excited entering all the information, however, I cannot enter physical measurements. The needle won’t move on any of the body parts listed on the app to mark it’s measurement. I have reached out the the developers twice via in app messages and still have not heard anything. It’s been working great, I just wish I could keep track of my body inches as well to get a full picture.

Needs improvement
There is a “trends” page that you can look at and an option to check the scale measurements for a single day. I looked at one of the days and there were multiple entries. I tried to “select all” to delete the extra entries for that one single day and it turns out that the app deletes every entry for every day, the entire history. Not just the day you were currently looking at. There isn’t a recovery or restore or a “trash” area to go to to reset back. Why design an app page looking at several individual entries and have it delete entries you aren’t currently viewing? Why isn’t there a restore? Why isn’t there a trash? App designers could do better. I sent an email requesting assistance, no response. Maybe I will get help after leaving a review.

Terrible Update - Revised
The update eventually happened, but the scale reads different weights within seconds of attempting another weigh-in. My husband has had 10 lb fluctuations in his weight all within 5 minutes. Depending on where the scale is placed, we weigh more or less. I gave this two extra stars from my original review since the scale now works, but that’s relative. Old review: I typically update all of my apps when notified. This update was for “minor bug fixes,” but the problem is it will not update and now has just rendered my scale useless. I’ll change my review once the update happens and works. Until then, I’m thinking a scale with Bluetooth capabilities may have been a waste of money.

Review
This app is gold if you actually use it to measure body fat and muscle weight (along with the other metrics) over time and how you feel with regard to well being around weight health. A lot of the low reviews don’t have any extrapolation on why. I do think one can take stats too far but if you can thread the needle and understand your body is more than just fat or a black and white number on the scale then you will enjoy the measurements and change in body composition as you lift heavier, use cardio and eating habits appropriately.

It works well enough!
I wouldn’t really know how accurate it is because I have no point of comparison. But I like the convenience and connectivity of the scale connected to the app and the app connected to my native Health app. So in that aspect it deserves more than a 3 star rating. What I would like to see happen is the ability to select whether or not one is pregnant. During my pregnancy I’ve gained 20 lbs. So it kind of skews the numbers. Yes my baby only weighs approximately 4 lbs at this point in pregnancy but once I give birth and all the fluid and such exit my body along with the baby, I’ll be lighter in weight much more than just the eventual 7-9 lb baby later on.

Don’t Make Me Change to a “NEW” version
I just read up on the information guiding current users to adopt the new “Renpho Health” app as this one will be phased out.... I already looked at the preview for the new app and can tell it will not offer me the ease and simplicity I’m currently enjoying. What I love about this app is the straightforward design and the detailed scan information all in one glance! The new app has too much extra elements that are not applicable to me, which will muddle the view of information I’d care about. For people who have a collection of your various products, the new app may be preferred, but I think I wouldn’t stand alone in saying that the independent and respective apps your customers have been using should still be accessible. I’m sad to say, but I’m more likely to discontinue use of my Renpho scale altogether if I’m forced to change the app - I might just be better off giving this away and starting from scratch with a different provider.

Difficult and frustrating
This app used to be simple and very good. I used to be able to wake up in the morning, turn it on and would be there ready to go. Now I have to select my device. No option to go default on the scale. Sometimes you want to start over when weighing yourself and track from a fresh start. You are unable to do so with this app. Even if you cancel your account, they promise to delete all your data but they don’t. This software is the case where a product is designed by some software engineers that don’t actually use it. I would give this app five stars, if it would default to my scale when opening the app, and if I could click a button to delete all my past, history and data.

Talk about big brother!!! NO!!!
I read the privacy policy. Wow. These guys want to collect every tidbit of data about me from anything and everything that electronically connects to me or this app. ***Developer response, “We don’t sell data to third parties”. Then why do you collect it? Why do you want access to my email and my contacts and everything else?*** I just want to weigh myself and track numbers. I don’t want some wanker in Timbuktu seeing my entire life. I hit the disagree button .. but the app automatically defaults back to agree. I kept going back to hit the disagree, and only the agree button stays highlighted. Disagree doesn’t even seem to be an option, other than it appearing and giving the illusion of privacy. I cannot get the disagree button and get it to work at all. I’ll be returning this scale.

Frustrating
While the scale does a great job detailing things out for those looking to lose weight, it is poor at tracking athletic performance, even in the “athletic” mode. As I gain muscle, the scale says I’m increasing body fat and my muscle content is going down. So as I’m becoming increasingly more muscular the scale says I am getting fatter even though you can visibly see I’m leaner yet stronger. That’s really frustrating. My other complaint is that the font size within the app is quite small, lightly colored and cannot be changed. For those of us who are a bit older this makes it hard to see what the app is saying. You can change themes but that doesn’t change the type color (from a light green or grey) to make it any darker or any larger.

Scale with App
Had the scale and accompanying app for about three days now. Really like the features and ease of use once you get it set up. Downside is the setup. First the pairing is wonky as heck. It takes you through one through some steps that seem totally unnecessary and then, never does tell you that you’ve successfully paired. I went through the whole process twice just to make sure. The second issue was measurement preferences...I selected “lb” in settings and then had strange “st” read outs that took me a bit to sort out. Once those issues were sorted, usage was easy and we look forward to many years of usage.

Easy to set up needs some sound personalization
This was super simple to set up. The data it gives is helpful too. The scale connecting via Bluetooth is a great feature. The only thing I cannot stand is the sound it makes when it is done weighing. You only have a choice to have it make the sound or no sound at all. It would be nice to have a choice of sounds (note the plurality). The current sound honestly sounds like it's communicating that "you're a dunce and messed up-as in, gained weight, you idiot" even when you lose weight! Other than that, great scale, nice to have app to keep track of your progression.

Fix the horizontal axis scaling please!!!!!!
I love this app it helps me keep my body in check. The horizontal axis on the trends tab is split in equal units currently as opposed to counting days in-between as null. This means unless I use the scale daily I will not completely understand what I’m looking at from a date’s perspective. It would be great if you could add those missing days back in, make the points a different color on the chart to represent them as artificial dates, and use a smooth line transition between the two actual data points. That would make the trends tab so much more enjoyable to use. Please make this change!

The percentages are garbage
Meh, as a scale it’s ok…it’s a scale. Looks nice and seems to be accurate. The app however is absolute garbage! It says my body fat percentage is 24%! I’m 5’8”, weigh 175 pounds and workout daily, there’s no way at that weight and height I’m at 24% body fat. About a month ago I had my body fat percentage tested at my doctor’s office and it was 11%. So if you bought this use it for what it’s intended, as a scale to weigh yourself, don’t take the percentages the app shows with any level of seriousness. If you want to know that information with some level of accuracy then go to your doctor’s office and have them test you.

Hrmmm
This is fun. I like that it tracks my weight. I am 5’10” and 145lbs which is what a lot of sites say I should be at 39yrs. This site recommends I lose 13lbs and gain 3.4% body fat. If someone tells me how to do that, I would find it quite interesting, but actually doing it seems like a bad idea. I’ve read these scales, for things other than weight, are really just to be used as relative changes not actual values. But the weight seems accurate and good for the price, I like seeing it over time and the other things are fun to look at. The might want to reconsider the way they make recommendations though. :)

It’s a ballpark estimator
I’ve used Renpho app/BT scale for 2 years now. The measurements of BMI, Body fat %, and metabolic age are all estimates. Have you ever looked at the charts that say you should be a certain weight for your height and thought it was an unreal expectation? I have. I’m 6ft tall and 215lbs. According to those same charts, unless I weight 170lbs, I am categorically considered “Overweight”. I have 35lbs of extra muscle on me and that isn’t considered or adjusted to the archaic measuring system. I have to drop from 169lbs of muscle mass to the “Normal” range of 109lbs-131lbs to have a “Healthy/normal” rating. The body fat % is easily 5% off. I have had Professional’s measure me and tell me I am 10/11% body fat vs Renpho telling me I have 17.6%bf. My experience is to use the scale just for the historical measurements and weight loss charting. I like that it graphs everything into a timeline so I can look back and see my weight gain/loss patterns. I wish they would have more advanced calculations to be more accurate for my height/weight/fitness.

Fixed!
Updated Review: The developer added that ability to manually input measurements into the app. It is a sleek nice looking scale and now measures weight and BMI. ************************************************** I was excited when I ordered this smart scale that not only would it allow me to monitor my weight but would also be able to monitor metrics and BMI. It looks good and the Bluetooth set up went pretty well and so did the app set up. Then it my took me forever to understand that I am unable to put my body measurements into the app to allow calculation of these. After reading other reviews I find that I the app does not allow manual input of measurements and I need to purchase a smart measuring device. Nothing in the description of this item mention that I need this additional device. I feel duped especially after waiting so long to receive this scale. So now the only use I have of it is for weight. Will this ever be fixed?

Great app!!
No issues so far over about a month of use. It syncs up for my wife and I separately on separate phones for the same scale. It looks like a lot of the negative reviews are from years ago, but it has been a great product so far. I am unclear about what “athlete” mode is, but since I run and work out 5 days a week, I put that on and it changed certain measurements. Maybe it changes the BMR? Who knows but I would like more descriptions on that cause it definitely changes things. Other than that, great up!!

Disappointed good if you are “average”,bad if you are not
I got this about 4 months ago, weight 194 body fat by RENPHO was 23%, body fat by 9 point caliper measurement was 22.5%. 3 months later weight 170, body fat by RENPHO 20.4%, by 9 point caliper 12.5%. Now 4 months out weight 172, 9 point caliper 10.9% body fat. Body metrics of arms, thighs, chest and waist indicate weight gain is muscle. Strength gains would indicate this as well, as do before and after pics. RENPHO reads all weight gain as increase in fat and reads skeletal muscle as decreasing. I have emailed them twice and get crickets. I am 57 and wonder if RENPHO is using averages for age rather than actual measurements which is wrong. Also I gained 10 pounds in 24 hours by changing the battery. BOTTOM LINE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY
