I love my AromaTech diffusers. The app used to allow the user to select settings for the scent to come on and off. For example, on for 30 seconds-off 120 seconds… versus selecting the preset 1 to 9 setting. As a user, I got it down to a preferred setting (science) - then Aromatech did an “UPDATE”! It removed the password, albeit annoying, it was fine. Then it gives a prompt only for the AromaMini BT, and not their AT600. Which only after reaching out via chat, was told that you have to open the unit, hit the “reset” button & you lose all your previously stored settings. So if you have a few around your house (like I do) - then you have to do a few resets and reprogramming of each. (That was a bit annoying!) I don’t understand what the UPDATE is really meant to do. They removed things that made this bluetooth feature appealing. I don’t need the darn bluetooth other than setting a time for it to come on and off now. I can set intensity on the unit itself. What a waste of technology “update”!
The “1” reviews explain ownership of this device, period!
I've had my 2 diffusers for about 2.5 years. I purchased a new and refurbished one. During the first year, I had to send in my diffuser for multiple repairs, and the following year the same story. One of the diffusers kept leaking the oil from the diffuser inside the chamber, which is a waste of product. Now both devices are not putting out the scent properly and I was told in an email to reset the machine and re-add it back to the app. The app can’t locate the diffuser. I am a big believer in putting money into items that have a significant return on value. Unfortunately, these diffusers are not. For future purchasers, I am not going to recommend this device. I think anyone who values their dollar, especially in a time of inflation would pass over this diffuser and seek a diffuser elsewhere.
Once you connect with the app and set a schedule, you lose manual control of the device. There's no "on" button on the app. So if you want your device to turn on outside of scheduled hours, you have to add that time to your schedule and it's a whole process. Also, the Bluetooth strength is abysmal (I guess that's more of a hardware issue). I find myself having to walk up to the diffuser with my phone in my hand to change it several times a day... This app creates more problems than it solves. I'd rather just let the thing run a pay a little more for oil. Also, UI/UX feels like something made by school children. I expected much more from the app companion to a very pricey home product like this one.
The app was amazing when you could set the scent duration and interval. With the update they did several months ago they took that feature away. Our home was dialed in with the perfect amount of scent. We had reached a perfect balance of scent and duration. With the “update” they took away the best feature for what I can only think is a money grab. Our scent bottles would last about 3 months before the update. Now we are getting a bottle about every month and a half. So now we are spending twice as much and the house is over powering strong. We have started to just unplug the unit since we no longer have the accrue control over the scent frequency. DEVELOPERS- BRING BACK THE TIME AND DURATION CONTROLS!!!!
Idk if the app update from a week ago caused a problem but when I open the app it’s white and does not show my BT MINI as it used to all it says is select your device but there is nothing to select. I tried a reset as aromatech suggested by holding power button down until I hear 2 beeps but that does nothing absolutely frustrating an app so simple that is total garbage why spend the extra money to buy the BT model if it doesn’t work with a junk app
Despite a bunch of reviews to the contrary, I haven’t had any problems with this app. Connects every time, settings stay the way I set them, and the device (AroMini BT) emits scent according the schedules I created. The acknowledgment beep is unnecessary and probably a bit louder than it needs to be, but that’s not a huge problem since the scheduling allows me to set it and forget it. It’s a no-frills app that maybe looks like an amateur developer made it, but it gets the job done on my iPhone 12 Pro (if that makes a difference).
What a horrible excuse of an app. The AromaTech isn’t cheap , folks. It’s over 300 dollars and this app looks like it was made by a 7 year old . The diffuser makes this horrible beep after you log in. The “interface “ if you can call it that is horrendous. It’s ugly and outdated. You can’t control outside of the home and it won’t tell you how much of the oil is left. There’s absolutely no Alexa support. Do better. For the amount of money folks pay , we expect a stellar app. This isn’t it.
For quite some time now I have been unable to connect to my diffusers with the app… it just doesn’t recognize them. I have two. So they are on the schedule that they are on and I cannot alter it. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, restarting my phone, restarting the diffusers, checked wifi and Bluetooth. I love the scents and product but this is absurd. I hope a fix is coming.
I’ve tried multiple times on my iPad and on my phone and I can’t seem to get the Scenting app to connect to the diffuser at all. This used to work but I noticed it stopped working after upgrading to iOS 16. I’ve also had multiple issues with the diffuser and even sent it back while it was under warranty and the correspondence through email was less than helpful to put it nicely.
Like… legitimately shocked. Price point of products & the amount of ADVERTISING they do.. but they can’t afford even a DECENT app? My unit is Bluetooth & I can’t even set a schedule bc the app crashes and shuts down every 6.5 seconds. Customer service is horrible. Home diffusers make high pitched migraine inducing sounds. Car diffusers don’t work (I’ve tried two now). Oils are great but WILDLY over priced. What a genius concept with horrible & scammy execution.
I have the aromatech AT-600 BT & it’s an absolute pain. This app doesn’t load 90% of time which means you can’t control the scent level at all. If you have previously set the scent level at high via the app and now want to change the level or turn the device off you can’t because the app isn’t loading. So know you have to darn near break into The device to remove the battery, I’ve broken 2 nails trying to get this device open. Please save your money.
The developers of this app should be really embarrassed to publish a app that literally does not work. I’ve tried a few months ago and it hasn’t connected to my diffuser and I just tried again today and my diffuser does not show up while Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are both on. I deleted the app and re-downloaded it and it still won’t show up. Horrible.
They need to extensively upgrade this app. they got rid of some functions that were very beneficial such as how long you want the machine to pause between Scenting, etc. Also, my sent machine is not retaining the schedule that I have set for it so I don’t know if there’s a problem with my mini or if it’s the app just not functioning correctly
You can set several different schedules and scent intensities. That’s all. I opted for the Bluetooth option so that I could control my unit remotely. Turn it on/off and set the intensity from another room in addition to scheduling. Why wouldn’t the app developers include this option? Seems rather intuitive. It’s not as sophisticated as I had hoped. Disappointed.
We moved last year so my Aromatech diffusers have been packed away until recently. I tried to get them going and opened the app only to find out it no longer works. Extremely frustrating to have these expensive diffusers and a junk app. Will never buy Aromatech again based on the horrible interface.
Works perfectly for me. I have the aromini BT, and everyone is amazed by it - and we live in Beverly Hills. No issues with this device whatsoever and the app is great. Simple.
I’ve had my BT600 for some time and have recommended the product to clients. The recent update on the app has serious issues identifying and connecting to this particular diffuser which I hope the company responds quickly with a quick update. No wonder the app has such low rating
For the amount of money paid for this AromaTech you would think there would be a better app. I can’t even use the product if the APP ISN’T WORKING!! FIX IT!!! I should have saw the reviews of this app 1st before I bought this thing. You would think that making fixing the issues would be priority which such horrible reviews.
Since I have connected this to Bluetooth, I am no longer able to manually turn on the diffuser without the app. And even when I deleted the app I am no longer able to manually turn it on. It will not diffuse without the app and the app is not very user friendly.
For a “smart” machine the app does not allow for much customization. You can only set a schedule and can’t really customize the frequency or intensity. The app only allows you to select a number which doesn’t explain what the number means as far as frequency of sprays or the timing of when the sprays will go off.
the diffusers that this app supports literally cost thousands of dollars, and this app looks like hot garbage. please invest in UI and UX improvements to this app. generally, there are a number of ways this could be more appealing and less janky-looking. i would design it for free for you just so i didnt have to see this UI anymore. it would also be well-served by adding features like a field for identifying and tracking which scent is in each unit. we pay for premium diffusers and scents. please offer us a premium app experience.
These diffusers are too expensive for the app not to pick up the diffusers after a few months. I have two diffusers, and I had to download the app more than once to get it to pick up one of them and now it’s not picking up the other one over Bluetooth. Great diffuser, horrible bluetooth capabilities
You pay extra for the BT version and you get this pitiful app. It allows you to schedule the machine, but that’s it. You can’t independently turn the machine on or off nor can you independently start and stop the scenting. Had I known this was all that the app did I wouldn’t have wasted the money on the BT version of the machine.
The new update wont allow me to connect with my 3 devices I just purchased. I just spent a lot of money on the fall and holiday scents and can’t use them because the Bluetooth wont connect. Very frustrating. I wish the app never updated because it worked great before.
Hold down the power button … The first beep is to reset the password while the second beep is to reset your schedule. Also, factory default is either 0000 or 8888 or 1234.
App works well, but it gets one star for emitting an obnoxiously loud beep when logging in, changing intensity levels, and committing those saved interval changes. It completely detracts from what should be a subtle aesthetic. It would be nice if an app update would allow the user to turn off the ridiculously loud beeping. It’s totally unnecessary and detracts from my user experience.
I’ve written a review before. The app was terrible then, it’s still terrible now. They say they’ll fix it. They won’t. Expensive diffusers with great oils. Yet the selling point of being able to control it from the app is worthless. Wanted to buy more diffusers, but can’t due to the despicable app.
Went to turn this on for the holiday and the app won't allow me to log in, keeps saying incorrect password but doesn't allow me to enter one or change it. Tried deleting the app and redownloading it and nothing works
Poor connectivity, does not store previous settings
Like I’ve wrote on the header… Poor connectivity, does not store previous settings. You need to hire competent tech to fix these problems or you’ll loose new customers.
After receiving this as a gift, I managed to use it for several months before I noticed that it just stopped. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and still it is not working at all. I have no use for a paperweight. Please advise.
I have three BT Minis, and now the app cannot connect to any of them, rendering them useless. Manually waiting it on on the base does nothing—it just beeps and switches off automatically. I would like a refund on all three. Totally destroyed one of my favorite devices.
The app works great. Easy to use except for one issue. The app changes the frequency/on and off settings on it’s own arbitrarily. Not sure if it’s the app doing it or the BT unit.
The new app update no longer connects to any of my diffusers. Which makes the app completely useless. Also, it makes it impossible to change the settings on the AT-600 BT. Please please fix this issue soon.
Updated app with most recent update, app stopped working. Now I can’t change the settings on my current diffuser, it’s stuck to what I had before app went down. Please fix asap, very frustrating
I have 4 of these BT diffusers and I can’t control the setting because the app isn’t working at all. I paired $162 each with shipping and I love the diffuser. But the app is just making using them next to impossible
Spent $380 on the bt version for this app to crash every time I log on… why do I always need to enter a default password to log on? Half the time it doesn’t connect and it always crashes. Very very bad app
The app glitches and says password is wrong and then there is no way to reset it. It’s absolutely not a user friendly app. Makes it very frustrating to use your device. This app needs fixing
I haven’t been able to use my BT diffuser for over a month! The app never loads and just has a blank screen! I’m writing Aromotech because I want my money back. What’s the point of a $200 diffuser that you CAN NOT USE!
Used to allow you to select how long to run on and off. Now it only has preselected intensity level which is not allowing the home to smell as good as before
The app doesn't work. I have 5 diffusers and the app no longer shows any of them for me to change the schedule or intensity. Without the app, the diffusers are really a waste of money.
Intensity Level 1 is too strong for residential spaces! Your product is useless until the app allows the ability to increase time interval between diffuses. No matter what scent is loaded in AeroMini BT, a thick nauseating cloud of scent over-saturates the air. FIX IT.
The app is very problematic. It is finicky. When it works it’s great but I’m essentially locked out of the app. Tried reloading but app isn’t connecting to my aromaBT. So disappointed.
