I spent about 10 years in boxing gyms struggling to hear combinations being called in loud boxing gyms that blast music at high volumes. I’m hearing impaired and that has made it hard to me to practice combos and improve for a long time. Having this app playing through waterproof bone conduction headphones has a game-changer. I’m exercising 5-6 times a week with this app now and I typically do 5-7 rounds a pop. Before the app, I’d struggle to get 1-2 days a week. The recent update allows people to incorporate their own exercises with a ton of flexibility. There’s a similar satisfaction to creating an exercise routine as there is to creating a playlist. There’s even the option to include up 6 minutes of warm up exercises for folks who like to jump rope first. I wish there was a couple more minutes of warm up in case I want to jump for more than 6 minutes. But it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s in a future update. The developers are very responsive. Anyway, I love this app. It’s intensely enjoyable. If you like to exercise with boxing routines, this app is perfect. It’s a must-have app for me and I’m never going back to life without it.
This is a really great home coaching app. It’s very versatile allowing you to completely customize your workouts and the types of boxing training you want. At first I was frustrated with the volume of coaching muting my music but then I found an option to allow music to play at volume. It was a really nice surprise. That describes this app, a lot of really nice surprises tucked into a surprisingly powerful boxing trainer. If you want to get into beast mode, get fit, improve your boxing skills, this app can help you. Since Covid I’ve been working out at home and this app makes you feel just a bit like being back in the boxing gym.
I like this app! It has a ton of programs that change so you’re never doing the same workout twice; you can even make custom workouts. They have an option to make the calls southpaw friendly which is good for me personally. Overall this is a good app- I was paying 99$/month for basically the same thing, a voice calling out random numbers. 99$ for a bag and 99$ for the app and 8 months later I’ve now saved 600$ 😅
I know I give this app and the developers some slack for some of it's short comings, but I think it's the best shadow boxing app on the market. With that said... The commands are too quick, for a beginner. You need to have an option to SLOW DOWN the rate of commands, especially for those pre-made workouts (like: SIMPLE DEFENSE). There's nothing simple about that workout. It's too quick. You need to give users time to get it down first before we can speed it up! Also, the bag workouts need to have more specific commands instead of just saying "4 punch combo". I don't like that, personally. We are not just working on throwing punches, but working on thinking and reacting quickly too. Hope you understand!
I’m using this app to get back and shape and I love all the customization options. My only issue is calling out the number instead of the name. I’ve been boxing for fitness and self defense for years so it’s not a problem with knowing what number corresponds to which punch. But in the middle of a workout, it’s easier for me to get into the flow when the punch is called out instead. It’s just easier for me personally cause I’m easily distracted. If there was a way to have an option to call out the name instead of the number, this would be a perfect app for me.
I started a boxing gym two months ago and using this app on my off days has really helped me keep in shape and learn how to get more comfortable with combinations, mitt training, and weight shifting during training. I feel like the app is worth the money for the full app and i havent even bought the full app myself. Only been using the free training so far. Anyone that wants to learn can definitely start on this app in my opinion.
This app has fundamentally changed the way that I train, completely for the better. Tracks my daily progress. Breaks down essential aspects of each workout mid session for your improvement. Tons of content to choose from, no matter what level you’re fighting at. A lot of apps claim to be a “Personal Trainer” of sorts, but this is truly and exactly that. Premium is well worth the investment. Do it for yourself. Seriously.
I only use this app for the free functionality of the timer to run my workouts with. For that purpose, it’s great. There are a few things that I’d change (namely the beeps cause my music volume to lower and then I have to switch over to my music app and then go back to this app for the normal volume to come back, and that changes to the timer settings aren’t saved automatically) but free is free and the app does what I need it to do.
Aloha from a literal minefield…so running is not a thing to do out here. As a retired military bomb disposal type, have some stress. I bought all the apps for boxing and kickboxing as well as a cheapo heavy bag. Pounding the piddle out here f a bag and shadow boxing keeps me from drinking too much, chasing night tigers, and worry. This is the best of all the apps if you just want to work out and improve your game. Get it, use it, or stay on the bench.
Good over all app. Been using it for months. Wish you added things more. 2 things to fix. If i get a phone call while working out the voice goes completely away. Pause, mute, turn it all back on and it doesn’t work. The voice doesn’t come back. Eh i means everything is done or start over. Also not being able to delete stuff in custom workout. Or if you can make it easy cause i can’t figure it out. Now i have like 6 custom workouts because i wanted to change a thing or two.
This is great especially since all I know about boxing is a jab and even that was something I was doing wrong, the exercises are exhausting but not to the point we’re my body starts to burn up I actually managed to sweat🙂I have a problem where I struggle with sweating and I just burn up but this is helping me and making me thirsty, also you can hear music while you exercise.
I haven’t subscribed to some of the more advanced workouts……..yet……, but for the ones available they provide for me a really great daily workout. I’m 53, & since starting this boxing app in early 2023, I haven’t felt this good in a long while. I’d recommend it to anyone who loves boxing workouts. Start from the beginning and just work your way up. And, whatever you do……..DON’T QUIT 👊🏾
I started boxing about a month and a half ago. My trainer suggested this app. It’s great for timing around and also for calling out numbers during rounds to help you react, instead of trying to remember sequences and combos. I do wish you were able to customize some of the combos with the free version, but nothing great in life is free. I use this app almost daily. Five stars.
I’ve been using this app in the free and then paid version for over 1 year now and the improvements based on customer feedback is great. The dev will actually chat with you about an issue or idea for improvements, which is refreshing and great. This app continues to get better and better. Definitely a keeper in workout folder.
I have zero experience with boxing but I love watching UFC fights. I never thought I’d start boxing but I needed a fun upper body exercise. So far this app really goes at my pace, I’m fairly new but it keeps track of your progress and the training courses you take. This is great for someone who doesn’t want to become a boxer and just wants to be guided in how to box for fun.
There are only 4 workouts for the free version, but it never gets boring. This is a great app to give your workouts a change of pace. 10-20 minutes workout that you can incorporate before or after your normal routine. It’s also a great app if you want to skip the gym, but still get a sweat in.
Thank y’all for so much I can learn self defense but also take out my anger I know a lot of kids in middle school probably go through this but I just need everyone to know bullying will stop and God loves you so don’t do something that your family and friends would dread for. 😃
Premade workouts are good for learners. The custom workouts are great for the more experienced and people in top shape. I've been tweaking my custom workouts for a month and already feel cardio, strength and accuracy leveling up. Love this app. Worth the sub price if you are disciplined enough to use it.
I train in my home boxing/wrestling gym fairly regularly and put together my own training routines. I MUCH prefer this app! It keeps me guessing and the pace pushes me well. Great boxing app without the overly priced subscription. (I did subscribe to the Premium and found it to be well worth the small investment)
this really helps me with dodging punching and a lot more like combos, flowing heads and also more stuff like that. I think that this is a five star review because it has everything that you need to get started for a fight or and everything to protect yourself.
I used to get beat up and dropped a lot before i started boxing, ever sense i really started boxing and started doing at home with this app i’ve been able to hold my own and able to beat up people taller and more musclar then me! Thanks a lot
This is my second day doing a workout. My first time I did for 13 min. Today I did a total of 17 mins and actually burned a good amount of energy. I wasn’t excited of day 2 exercise because my arms were soar the day before. But I feel very energized and ready for day 3.
I find this app was very useful and personally I saw improvement in my boxing skills within days If you would want to start trading I definitely recommend getting this app and it’s worth buying the premium
I got this app to challenge myself in a different way. I’ve done fitness kickboxing classes and it was similar to that but I find myself throwing the simple combos that the app has you drill. Kinda shocking that it sticks in your head so quickly.
I never thought I’d be able to get a true gym style workout, but this provides the right amount of coaching and variety to achieve that. Where has this been all my life?!?
Love the workouts but I might suggest adding a training feature where one can enter level of fitness, time training in boxing, goals, time one has to train and such and then have the app create a training schedule or program that lasts a few weeks that mirrors how pro boxer train leading up to a fight.
This was a great way to start all over in my boxing tea. I haven’t done this exercise in years but I feel so good knowing that I remembered my punches and was able to execute them. I can’t wait to see what the next time brings.
So worth it after moving to a new city without a gym membership yet. My only wish (and maybe it’s just that I don’t know how to find it) is it would be nice to save custom workouts. But still a great app.
Really wish there was a way to save multiple workouts, and to adjust music/voiceover volume while in workout, but other than that I’ve used this for a while and I love it. It could use improvements here and there, but it’s probably the best boxing app out there.
This app gives you a place to start if you wanna practice shadow boxing drills. Drills also translate into heavy bag drills with gloves if you have access to them. I like the pacing of the drills as they will directly impact your progress for speed. Great upon first review!
I have built my entire personal garage boxing gym/ program around this app. Use it with a mirror, a partner , or a heavy bag you are guaranteed a terrific workout and a learning experience. A tremendous investment in your boxing skills and conditioning. Great selection of voices. Thanks for your work.
Defenetly one way to get your cardio in and also it gives you a lot of exercises and I sweat a lot with this app Definitely would recommend I also got my hands to be quicker
I recently moved and am no longer at my boxing gym. My new gym is set up with weights and has a heavy bag in the corner. I am NEW to this app but it is just what I needed and calls out combinations similar to the coach at my former gym. I wish the voice wasn’t so robotic sounding but I am getting used to it.
I give this 4 stars because there’s nothing like it in the App Store. I guess it doesn’t really need much improvement. I simply use it to call out pad work combinations. It does that well. Wish it linked up with Apple Health. Otherwise, I’m satisfied.
I’ve used this app for 6 months now along side training at a actual boxing gym. This app is easy to use, fun for switching workouts up and if anything just good for running rounds. You can run music with the app which I love! 5 stars easy!
Doesn’t explain things like defense or footwork very well. If you are a novice you will be confused a lot. They offer videos to watch but it is an entire workout, and since the workouts are randomly generated it might not demonstrate whatever defensive motions or footwork you have questions about.
Great app with varied workouts and voice-based cues. Lots to choose from (power, speed, HIIT, cardio, etc), even with the free version, and they change every time. Glad I found this!
Great with learning the craft, workouts fun and exciting without needing a coach. Motivates while listening to music and doesn’t impede too much with sounds thru music . Great for beginners and can’t wait to get into advanced training.
If you’ve never boxed this app helps learn basic offense and defense. Paid version is worth it for the first month but then i was able to just use the free features for my needs
Fantastic training aid. I endorse the product fully. This was totally made by someone who has seriously trained to fight. The only issue (for me) is the subscription service pricing model. I can’t stand this business model & I wish there was a lifetime purchase option.
Great app for boxers who want to train anytime, anyplace
I use this app whenever i can, wherever i can, I’m not one to usually review apps but this app is a big help for someone who wants to train while also traveling constantly.
although you have to pay for most of the apps videos (cheap monthly payment) the free ones are all beginner friendly and help ease you into the routine.
I know how to box pretty well but this app makes to where if I’m back in the ring I know I won’t get tired and I know I’ve improved. Just wish they would give us broke people more classes for free. I’m struggling in this world. Lol
The app is great and I love it. It gives you a good workout and everything but the subscription limits all of that. Most of the stuff on the app is locked because you need a subscription like the strength training and half of individual exercises. Other than that it’s great and I love it.
This app has it all to train like you’re at the gym. Workouts are easy to follow and the premium sub is very reasonably priced for what you get. Best boxing app by far now with the iOS health tracking too
This app is expensive to be so poorly designed. The UI looks great but the coach voices are so trash, why not use Siri instead? The exercises need to have detailed explanation on what they are and how to use/do them both when choosing a workout or creating a custom one. DARK MODE is a must in every app nowadays if you want to succeed. Everyone loves dark mode specially at night or low lit conditions
App does exactly what it purports to do and doesnt prompt you to buy additional stuff. In a perfect application of reverse psychology, that’s actually making me MORE receptive to buying the premium plan. Well done, app developers!
Use this boxing app for your training and improve your skills from home or the gym, like a virtual boxing coach! Try existing training sessions or build your own workouts using the various exercises and settings. You can easily pick how much time you have ahead of you, the exercises you'd like to do, the intensity and start your boxing workout! If you box, this is a great way to keep improving, and if you don't it's a cool alternative way to work out and do boxing drills! SHADOW BOXING TRAININGS This boxing app features multiple pre-made intense shadow boxing & punching bag workout sessions. Some are a real challenge and others are easier for beginners. For instance "20 minutes HIIT" is a very high intensity interval workout to burn a lot of calories and have fun... but you can find simpler ones to get started! NO EQUIPMENT REQUIRED You don't need any equipment to complete the various trainings and various drills, but if you have a punching bag or a jump rope at home you'll be able to use them. PICK FROM MANY EXERCISES Mix it up by trying out different workout types, simulating what a real boxing coach would ask you to do: - PAD WORK will call out simple combos and freestyle combos to execute - FREESTYLE let you do your own thing with an optional audio boxing coach giving you ideas and directions - REPETITIONS gives you one combo to practice for an entire round. It can be a simple one to focus on speed, or a more technical one. - PUNCHING BAG to alternate fast and powerful sequences to build explosiveness on the heavy bag - DEFENSE to focus on dodging incoming attacks and countering - FOOTWORK will improve your movement and speed with simple drills - TUTORIAL to learn the fundamentals of boxing - DODGE to focus on reaction speed, slipping and countering with simple punches - BODY SHOTS to mix up your game by also attacking the body - DOUBLING PUNCHES to change up your rhythm - LONG COMBOS where you have to stay focused and string longer combinations - COUNTER PUNCHING where you start with a defensive action and retaliate - JUMP ROPE is a great way to boost your cardio You can also add additional calisthenics exercises like push-ups, burpees, mountain climbers, squats or sit-ups in between boxing rounds! This can get intense, but it's a great fitness exercise and will help with cardio and burning calories. CUSTOM TRAININGS You can also create your custom shadow boxing training sessions and custom HIIT workouts. This is the perfect way to match what kind of fitness regimen you want to follow at home, like a 7 minute workout or something closer to boxercise. So if you want to get ready for fight camp or just lose some weight, there'll be something for you! STATISTICS See your statistics, follow your progress and remember when you last worked out. This will help you focus on your fitness target, weight loss or performance improvements. Boxing alone can get demotivating and this is a great way to stay motivated while working out. FREE ROUND TIMER WITH NO ADS Use the free timer for your sparring sessions, training or heavy bag workouts. It will alternate between workout and rest periods and will ring a bell at the end of the round as well as give you an indication of the round coming to an end. You can use our pre-made timer modes to quickly set the rules from boxing, MMA, muay thaï, kick boxing or amateur boxing. LISTEN TO YOUR MUSIC The audio cues will not stop the music from your favorite app like Spotify or Apple Music. You can set up the audio mixing to lower the music or keep the volume all the way up. Finally you can even mute all audio coaching if you only want to listen to your intense boxing workout playlist! iCLOUD SYNC Your workouts are automatically saved to iCloud so that you never lose track of your progress.
