I’m an online subscriber but the app is crap

The app is packed with local sports news add headline stories. The only way I can access real local news is by going to the web version. SHJ, if you are paying these app developers, you are wasting your $$$.

Thank you for daily keeping us informed. one of the first pages we open every morning on this app. Keep up the great work. Excellent way to keep up with what’s happening in Hub City.

Not really worth a download

You can only view a small amount of articles. If you want to read about news in the upstate then download the News Channel 7 app. It doesn't require a subscription and you can read all the news you want about the upstate. Also if news channel 7 doesn’t cover the article you’re wanting to read just go to google and you can find the article real easy that GoUpstate won’t show.

Paid for one year subscription but paywall won’t let me read

Horrible app to begin off with, but now I can’t read anything as it’s telling me that a subscription is required. I’ve paid up until Jan 2022.

Worst E newspaper app ever

This app rarely works in the enewspaperv format and the general news app is inadequate as well. I am surrendering in frustration after too many calls to customer service

Good bye Go Upstate

How insulting that you make everyone download a "new and improved" app, only to let everyone discover the "new improvement" is to restrict content unless each reader pays a monthly subscription of almost $10. The GoUpstate mobile content on the internet and via the app is lackluster at best, however it at least helped keep a local reader somewhat up to date; but here's a tip - if you're going to charge $10 per month for a subscription, at least put forth an effort to make the content appealing enough to justify the cost. Or, to say it another way... Your content simply is not worth paying $10 per month. No value! From now on I'll just get my news from Fox or any other number of agencies who don't charge a monthly fee, i.e. WSPA or WYFF. Goodbye GoUpstate!

So DISGUSTED

This newspaper has finally burned me for the last time. I was told to download a new app to receive my current news and the app doesn't have any of my area's news. This newspaper has lost another customer. First we can no longer read articles without paying and now you tell customers to download apps that do not have any coverage for our area!! HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!

Good, but not Great

I like the convenience of getting the main stories in each area, but it does not have every article and feature of the print edition or the online E-edition. It is not updated as frequently as it should be.

Needs improvement

Love go upstate but needs better organization and speaking for everyone... List all the mugshots instead of like 5. Otherwise I've always been a fan!

What a RIP-OFF

Go Upstate used to be a great app for keeping up to date with local news. I downloaded the new app thinking it had some upgrades and used it for a little bit. Next time I opened it upon wanted me to pay. WHAT???? I hate to tell you Halifax, but your competitors don't make us pay for news. Good luck!!

No pay no play

You have to have a subscription to the print version if you want to look at more than 5 ads. Other than that it's okay.

Won't work

Since upgrading last OS operating system( a hold out) program shows initial screen of town/flowers then suddenly closes. Tried deleting & reload with same results

Terrible app

Does Halifax know/care that this app literally doesn't work? Never loads and always crashes. I've deleted it and tried loading it again. Pathetic app. Come on!

We pay for this subscription so why do we see endless adds. Design keeps changing so you never get totally familiar with the layout. I will not renew. JB Chesnee, SC
