I can’t recommend Sunnyside enough for anyone who is trying to get a handle on their alcohol consumption! I knew I needed to reign it in but didn’t want to give it up completely. I enjoy an occasional drink with dinner and in some social situations. Sunnyside helps you schedule in dry days where you are alcohol free and then calculate what you want for consumption goals the other days. There is a community journaling page where everyone responds to the daily prompts and it’s very supportive and key to my progress. Reading what everyone else is going through and how they are handling achieving their daily goals really helps me. I’m not alone. We all support each other. COACHING is also very important to me and I highly recommend this feature. The cost is a little extra but it’s worth it. Coaches check in daily and are very responsive to questions and needed support. I love it! I cannot thank Sunnyside enough for the progress I’ve made. I will never go back to being “that person” I was again. I’ve cut my consumption down significantly and am far healthier, happier and WISER than before. I’m getting to the bottom as to why I was drinking as much as I was, mindful drinking…and again coaching and community. Just try it. What have you got to lose? If you are looking for a solution and landed here, you are already on the right path!
If I’m honest, I enjoy drinking and it’s part of my life. But coming out of COVID, I was drinking plenty and it wasn’t very intentional. That’s the word that mattered to me. I wanted to be more intentional about drinking as opposed to just drinking without thought. Sunnyside has helped me to do that. It introduces a consistent daily routine of intention by helping you to plan your intended drinking for the week and then tracking it daily. Just that repetitive pattern of intention has made a huge difference. Yes I’ve had a lot less to drink in the last month which is great. But, more importantly, I am back to being intentional. Making active choices as opposed to just being reactive to situations. If I go over an intended drink count on a given day, I am very aware of it and do it very intentionally. And I don’t feel bad about it as long as it’s intentional! I’ve only had one day since using Sunnyside where I had more than I intended. I was bummed but the rest of the month has gone great so I am celebrating that! The value is in the routine. Automated messages come regular from coaches too and if you reply, they actually reply in real time which is great. Overall I think this is a great concept and has been well executed.
I have struggled for a very long time with once I start I can’t stop.. very cliche but so true.. some thing in my brain takes over.. I would never let it effect my everyday life though.. my motto was ‘no pain no gain’. Get up from a night of drinking mostly wine and go out and run 8 miles. The whole time I was running I would think why can’t I control myself like everyone else. This was my daily discussion in my head until the day I was watching a tick tock and some women talked about Sunnyside really working without having to fully give up alcohol. I have tried it all like every fad diet. But this one seemed different or maybe be this time I was just ready to finally make a change and for good.. so signed up..pretty simple.. track you drinks.. but with that I also read about helpful hints.. changing your thinking so many things… 1month in I am in control.. 54 years it has taken me.. the coaches who reach out are there if needed and the comments people write are uplifting and you realize you can control of your actions… I am not saying I am perfect but I am managing and think before I grab another bottle of wine.. today I thank Sunnyside.. I am really happy and appreciative.
Excellent tool to help you reduce how much you drink
I knew I was drinking too much but I didn’t realize how much until I started the daily drink tracking. As an example, my target yesterday was 5 drinks and I golfed. On a normal golf day, I would have 3 to 4 beers or Trulys before we teed off. 4 to 5 more on the course and 2 to 3 in the clubhouse. Then go home and have 2 to 3 glasses of wine with dinner - wow, that would be let’s be generous and say 12 drinks. Most likely feel lousy in the morning and foggy about the end of the night. I have now quit drinking before and during golf. Exception was yesterday, a good friend I haven’t seen since i started with Sunnyside, brought the usual bag of beers. I had my water and Gatorade. I finally gave in about the 13th hole and had one since he had Canadian beer! Not bad, only 1 until we finished. A drink and a wine after the round and 3 wines at dinner. Ok, my target was 5 and I had 6, but a vast improvement over the usual 12 or 13 on a golf day and I am still on target for the week! Tracking is awesome and keeps you mindful and accountable every day. I know many will say you still drink like a fish, but I am working on it and doing much better. Thank you Sunnyside!
When I found this app, I wasn’t sure what to exit t. At first it seemed annoying with the texts reminding me to be mindful and encouraging me to set goals. Then I realized I liked that and it was working to help me stop and/or cut way back. The support and explanations of why we often drink without thinking about it is awesome. This is not just stop drinking idiot. This is learning why we do it in the first place, and assessing it that’s good. The community where you can share your progress and read other people’s posts is really helpful. I post almost everyday. I can’t believe how much better I feel on my 14th day dry. I didn’t really acknowledge how much I was drinking before I started this, I just knew it was too much. Now I’m accountable and that has kept me on track. One thing I’d update is sometimes the automated messages don’t fit the situation. If you don’t drink on Friday when you had a planned drinking day, but you drink on Saturday that was a planned dry day, the message is basically you got off track but keep trying. Those messages need to be tweaked. Overall, I’d highly recommend this to anyone trying to become more mindful of their drinking.
Years ago I tracked alcohol consumption by paper and it worked really well but then I stopped and became mostly a mindless drinker. Probably not any moreso than other traveling execs but that’s still way higher than the doctors recommend. I like planning out the week, I like getting the prompts by text, I like the dashboard on the app, I like being able to keep a mini journal on what my experiences are, I like looking into the community and reading what people are experiencing (even though I don’t actively participate, at least not yet). I like knowing there are coaches available even though I haven’t used them yet. It’s making it easy for me to be a mindful drinker - am I enjoying this drink? Is it special? Does it merit to be one of my planned drinks for the week? How do I feel when I’m not drinking - do I want more of that? When I am drinking what are the motivations and feelings I have? And hey how am I doing with my numbers - am I staying true to goal, am I doing even more/less than I thought? Overall - I like it. I’ve been using this for about a month and plan to keep going. The app and text messaging keeps it easy.
Helps me be more aware and make better decisions about drinking
This app is incredibly helpful on so many levels. I’m the type of person who is encouraged by supportive words, and this app does that. There is no negative feedback. If I’m over the goal that I set myself, it suggests gentle ways/tactics that might help me improve. Instead of just a drink because I feel like it, or because something has upset me, I think about the trigger now, which has helped me. Keeping track on a daily basis of my alcohol intake helps me see my trends and helps keep me accountable - all in a good way. I’ve tried other apps, but they just didn’t work for me. With Sunnyside, I feel like I have a “secret friend” who’s always there for me. After many, many years of drinking too much, I’m definitely drinking less than I did before this app. And, since it’s such a supportive app, I don’t feel like I’ve been “bad” if I’m not perfect. With this app, I can still drink, but have learned to drink less and feel better about myself… and still allow myself leeway for vacations and other special events.
I have always had a difficult time being consistent with goals. The gym, eating right, taking multivitamins, you name it. My alcohol consumption was consuming my after work home life, and I was really feeling the effect from it. The sleepless, tossing turning, night sweats nights the anxiety and depression etc. Sunny side was and is my saving grace. I’ve been able to be consistent and maintain it for the past month. I’m hopeful for the this next month to continue this streak. They are personable, if you’re craving a drink they don’t put you down for it instead they talk to you and recommend things you can do to a) keep you busy, b) suggest having a cocktail or whatever. The support system is amazing too. You fill out daily prompts and you can respond to others as a support community. Sunny side has saved my relationship with alcohol and has allowed me to become more mindful in my drinking habits. I’ve shed a few pounds on the way too because I’ve been able to track my drinks. Striving for another dryish month!
This application has helped me decrease my drinking. I find the reinforcement from the days when I am drinking less than I had agreed to cut done very helpful. I think the most important thing to start with is you have to make a commitment to this process and really want to do it. I lost my husband 3 1/2 years ago and have steadily had at least 3 strong gin martini’s every day. I didn’t start until 5 in the afternoon and would follow my 3 drinks with one or two glasses of wine. Last weekends I had 3 days of no drinking and I haven’t had gin for 3 weeks now only wine. Except for once. I know that the amount of alcohol was killing me, but I didn’t care. Losing my husband has been so painful. So I decided to try this program. I can say it is helpful. The fact I can have a drink without condemnation has allowed me to continue. I appreciate the support. My goal is , I’m not sure yet. But my checking account is much happier . And I’m sure my liver is also. Thank you for this program. I really don’t like the AA program. But this I really like.
I’ve always been a drinker, but over the last few years, I’ve definitely become a heavy drinker. More than I want to, especially on the weekends, but even during the week - a bottle of wine at least, sometimes more. I’ve tried to cut back on my own or do dry months, but nothing works bc the whole time I’m just waiting for it to be over so I can drink again. Then I found Sunnyside, and it just clicked. The philosophy of being mindful about my drinking instead of trying to quit drinking is the key I needed to cut back and change my habits. The practice of tracking my drinks and thinking about each one made me realize I just don’t need as many. I don’t want to quit drinking. I just want to be mindful about my drinking instead of mindlessly throwing back a bottle or 2 of wine for no reason. Now when I do drink, I enjoy it more. And when I don’t drink at all during the week, I feel great!! Thank you, Sunnyside!! Truly, your system works and I am so grateful!!
UPDATE: I’ve now been using this app for a month…I have cut down my drinking significantly…maybe 2-3 drinks all week! This app is so great for many reasons. I highly recommend it for the SMS (text message) reminders so you stick to tracking. Completely worth the investment - I’m already feeling healthier AND it’s paid for itself in what I’ve saved by not drinking - and then some! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I used a more popular app and this one is much better for several reasons. #1, the notifications to track make it super easy and helpful. The other app I was using had a lot of daily expectations - reading and such - whereas this one has a more realistic approach AND it sets up a plan for the next week to realistically reduce intake by a percentage from the last week. The other app, you had to set them yourself. I’m only on the first week of using this but I love it so far and will def do the annual subscription roughly $8 per month. So worth it
I’ve been wanting to cut back on drinks- especially the “just because” or the “one more than I really actually wanted” drinks. I’m acutely aware of the negative effects of alcohol and I’m also not interested in eliminating it from my life entirely at this time. I’ve tried another app before and it just didn’t work. Too many assignments, lots of education that seemed like thinly veiled guilt. I’m only a month in but I’ve had a lot of success limiting drinks by being mindful and with check ins. The automatic texts make it easy and the community entries are a supportive way to see others who are looking to improve, not necessarily abstain. I know vacations and nights out will still happen, but having a plan to think about my choices ahead and not feel bad if I miss has been great. I’ve actually cut back more than I thought and had more dry days this month than in the last several months combined. Definitely recommend!
Never knew mindfulness could be so transformative!
Seriously! Tracking how much I have to drink in a day has made me so much more aware of why I choose to pick up a drink in the first place. Now, instead of always picking up a drink, I’m asking myself what I really need in that moment, and thanks to the kind and gentle suggestions from Sunnyside, I’m able to pick healthier outlets. I have a tendency to be really hard on myself when I can’t accomplish a goal that I’ve set out to do, and that has been my story with alcohol consumption for the last five years. But having little text reminders and coaches reaching out with only positive feedback and reinforcement, I realized I don’t have to be so mean to myself when I don’t reach my goals right away because I’m really starting to full understand that progress just simply takes time. Getting to the root of the issue versus just trying to change the behavior on my own has been transformative.
I have been wanting to cut back on my alcohol consumption for a few years now. I’m super health conscious and wanted to take it to a new level by cutting back on my drinking. It was easier for me to not drink at all for several weeks than was to cut back or cut out drinks entirely during a particular week.. Somehow I ran across Sunnyside and it has been remarkable how much it’s helped me. When I began the program, I was having an average of 15 drinks a week. Now I’m down to six and aiming for four drinks a week total. I think the reason the program works is that it helps a person to be thoughtful about how many drinks they plan to drink in a week or in a day. After a couple of weeks, you feel so good that you want to even do better than the goals that you set out for yourself. Frankly, this was probably one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself, to sign up for Sunnyside.
I spent 2 years on Reframe. I loved Reframe and wouldn’t be where I am without it. I was no longer doing the readings, using it strictly to keep track of my drinks so I came to Sunnyside hoping to save a little money. And I kinda wanted a little change. I’ve tried dozens of tracking apps and most are useless. Sunnyside would absolutely work for most people. Sunnyside and Reframe are very similar but one thing I don’t like about Sunnyside is there’s no option to opt out of text messages. I would like to do all of the work inside the app. There’s too much going on when I’m getting app notifications, text notifications and emails too. I used it for two weeks and my dashboard never opened. I would like to see my progress in calendar form and it was supposed to open after one week of tracking. It keeps telling me to track for a week to open it. I don’t want to spend this amount of money on something I can’t experience total functionality of beforehand. I’m undecided in continuing to use it.
I’ve been working in the food service industry most of my adult life and it’s easy to get caught up in the world of drinking. Not only to decompress after a grueling shift, but we are also better at our job if we learn about the alcohol industry and are usually genuinely interested the way chefs are about food. So I’ve drank more than necessary this past decade but decided recently that as much as I appreciate learning and enjoying my drinks it was time to cut back. I manage to track everyday but I don’t always hit my goals, but I have never felt so supported in this journey until using Sunnyside. It took a long time to create this habit so I know it’ll take a long time to break it. I feel no pressure when I fall short, only inspiration to keep going. Thank you to the coaches and everyone else who publishes their responses to the prompts. It’s a great community you’ve created here!
Overall I like this app and have changed my drinking habits for the better because of it. The coaching and community support are helpful. It's great to read and respond to what a others are going through. One thing I don't like is that I feel the amount of calories it shows you avoided and the amount of money saved is misleading. I've noticed I'm eating more now that I'm drinking less, so I'm not really avoiding the calories from drinking completely. They've shifted. And the amount saved reported to me is based on paying for drinks out someplace. Almost all of my drinking happens at home and that's a ton cheaper than going out. These aren't any reason to not use the service. Just gripes I have. As I said in the beginning, this app has helped me be aware of my drinking behavior, make positive changes, and have a plan and support. I like it.
On a whim, I clicked on a random ad for Sunnyside and read about their philosophy and methodology. Having a background in psychology, it sounded reasonable, especially knowing that AA has only about a 35% success rate. I jumped in, and since then, I’ve been positively impacted by the structure of the program and the kindness and immediacy of their coaches. I honestly haven’t made much headway yet on my intake reduction (being a caregiver of at least four people, including my parents, husband and teenage son), but at least I’m looking at my habits and being accountable. I have increased my “dry nights” which gives me hope. I am slowly drinking less and the coaches hold me with great compassion and encouragement. It might not be the perfect fit for everyone, but for now, It’s a great mirror, and hopefully I will get better as my life, my discipline, and self-reflection improve.
I hesitated to sign up for an annual membership to Sunnyside because of the price, but I’m so glad I did. So much support is available in whatever form or forms works for you: the community forums, daily journaling, accountability/tracking, and real live people that will text you back almost anytime of day or night. The app and texting has been really easy for me to use and I have cut back from 7 - 8 drinks per week to 1 - 2 drinks per week almost effortlessly, thanks to Sunnyside. also, there is never any judgment from the coaches, or from the community and my experience. Even if you totally screw up your goals, and whether you want to quit drinking completely or just cut back, you will have their support regardless. I highly recommend for anyone who wants to be a little bit healthier and a little more present.
I began drink tracking with Sunnyside a month ago (30 days). It has already helped in several ways: I now know just how much I was drinking on average per week; have been encouraged by the program/app to set goals for cutting back, to continue tracking; and consistently notified about specific progress. You are encouraged, but not required to “share” your experience, but the app offers a “community” where you can post or view feedback. Coaches are available if you need them. So far, I’ve pretty easily cut my wine consumption in half; am sleeping much better; and am slowly able to stick to the changes. If you want to curb your alcohol, to take control of the role drinking plays in your life, but need a helping hand, give this program a try! I stumbled on this via Facebook. Wish I had joined earlier.
I knew I needed to cut back on my drinking for my health and relationship, but I was not ready or willing to stop completely . When I saw the ad for Sunnyside, I thought, “Why not give it a try?” I signed up for a year, thinking it would take me that long to get where I wanted to be. From the very beginning, I cut back. Sunnyside encourages you to set your own schedule and reminds you and encourages you daily. I got to the point that I didn’t want to disappoint my “Coach” ( or myself) by failing to meet my daily goal. I’ve been in the program less than a year, and I have cut my consumption from 14 or more drinks a week to 3-4 and I am happy with that. I sleep better, remember better, and my husband has stopped worrying about me. If you are an habitual drinker who wants to regain control, I heartily recommend this program!
So I downloaded this app to watch my drinking and I undownloaded today. Every week they recommend a plan for the next week and they recommend me MORE drinking… I had no drinking m-th, 5 drinks fri & sat, and then 3 drinks sun for my initial plan. I did better than expected and only drank on Saturday for a total of 7 drinks. They sent me their recommendation for the next week and recommended I drink on tues and thurs, as well as an additional added drink Friday and Sunday… So the app isn’t encouraging me to do better at all. It seems like an expensive glorified drink tracker and the texting to track messed up one time and didn’t even track my drinks (I sent 🥃🥃🥃 which should of meant three drinks but it counted it as one). Going forward I’ll just make my own plans and track them in my notes app. This app just seems like a glorified expensive tracking app. The only way I’d recommend this app is to someone who may need a person unknown to text to encourage them not to drink, but I personally never used this feature so idk how good it actually is.
I was skeptical about joining Sunnyside at first but boy am I glad I did. It starts by holding you ac countable for making goals and sticking to them. Somehow when you look at the number of drinks you had in a day or no drinks it is motivating. It really makes you think about how much you want to drink vs how much you are actually drinking. So far Im staying on target of 0 drinks this month. There is also a community section where you can text your feelings. You come to find you are not alone in this and people are basically the same. So encouraging and no judgment. In the end, its always up to you but this is a great support network to help you along. I don't want to stop drinking altogether but I do want to learn to stick to my goals of a certain number of drinks. This will help me.
This app really helps! I’ve only been on it about a month but it has really helped me in my approach to drinking. Having attainable goals and knowing what benefits you want to receive is so important. While I haven’t been perfect, I’m doing far better than I was. Knowing your goal for the day/week helps with mindful drinking. It has also helped me find alternatives to drinking especially at those points where I may be at my goal and would normally continue to drink. Whether it’s nonalcoholic options, exercise, reading, meditating, prayer or just going to bed early. And there is lots of support. From the coaches to other members who are going through the same experience. I highly recommend this app if you want to cut down on your drinking but still want to do it socially and responsibly.
It’s probably true that I was just ready for it at this moment, but this app is really working. Whether you are interested in cutting back, quitting, or just being more honest with yourself about your relationship to alcohol, this app helps you stay aware of your habits and make conscious choices. The coaches are very encouraging and positive. My one suggestion would be that the reminder about your days decision coming at 6:00 PM, at least that’s when it comes for me, was often a little too late. I would be better off if it came at 4:45 or 5 PM. One last plus is that it doesn’t necessarily require you to go to the app to track. Sometimes I needed the simplicity of having someone reach out to me to keep me honest. I really appreciate the simplicity of it. Highly recommend.
The Sunnyside program has given me a wonderful re-boot ! I’m not an alcoholic but I drink too much ! I respond to everything in life with positive reinforcement . The day after New Year’s Eve I discovered the Sunnyside App …I don’t remember how , probably and Angel sent it to me! I’m so glad I was paying attention. It is a FABULOUS program . I made the commitment for a Dry January and currently am 33 days NO ALCOHOL and have not missed it . I could have had a drink on January 21 as I was at a big event . I decided not to as it would have “cost” too much . I would have given up my 21 days ! I could say SO much more but encourage anyone who is reading this to consider the free trial . I doubt you would be sorry ! It is the Weight Watchers program for alcohol as opposed to food ! Best thing I’ve done in years !!
Cutting back on drinking is difficult, doing it alone is even harder. With Sunnyside I have been able to make realistic goals for myself and with the support of the wonderful “coaches” with their daily check ins and encouragement I have more tools on my tool chest for cutting back on drinking or having dry days all together. Their approach is helpful with out an ounce of shame. The app and the coaches want you to succeed, whatever that means for you. The weekly graphs showing my amounts, my goals and a predicted overview has been eye opening and so helpful. Whether you want encouragement to stay sober for a day or a lifetime, or just cut back from 4 drinks to 2, I would highly recommend Sunnyside App and the community here. I feel empowered and encouraged and thankful for the accountability. ♥️
I have wanted to cut back on my alcohol for years but never could for more than a day or two and then I had a medical condition caused directly due to alcohol and my doctor had tried to get me to stop drinking COMPLETELY. I didn’t want that, I would never achieve my goal if it meant I couldn’t drink again. With Sunnyside I have to be accountable for my choices and it makes me constantly aware of the goals I set for myself. I went from 3+ drinks each night to 3 per week! I was over the recommended consumption for women by day two and now I haven’t reached that since I started (Thanksgiving holiday excluded)! I highly recommend it and have to friends who want to cut back! A must for those who want to feel good about themselves!!
I’ve tried for years to cut down my alcohol intake, no go totally sober but to be a more social drinker rather than every day drinker. This is the only program I’ve found that works for me. When you become mindful of how much you’re drinking and why, it really makes you stop and think and ask yourself do I really want or need another one. Doing the dry days to me was the hardest at first but now it’s so much easier. And when you feel so much better the next day it inspires you to keep going. The forum with everyone else helps so much too. Others with similar issues all helping and encouraging one another. Give it a go! The coaches are there when you need them for inspiration also. Just overall a great program.
This app has made me a lot more mindful of my alcohol consumption. With check-ins daily (without being over the top), they make it so easy to track your drinks, make weekly plans for dry vs. drinking days, and give you access to a community of people with similar goals and obstacles. The coaches texts are personalized to you and their responses to your texts are personalized - nothing is canned or automated. I also appreciate that they don’t make you feel bad for slipping up on a plan - yes, you can see that you didn’t stick to it, which is helpful, but they are positive and encouraging about continuing to move forward and starting a new day. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for an easy way to be more mindful about their alcohol consumption!
I had 2 glasses of wine every night and never managed to kick the habit more than a month. This app has helped me stay accountable and mindful. I feel so good not drinking now, and when I do choose to have a drink it’s rare that I want more than one glass of wine. On my birthday I gave myself the option to drink more, and I like that flexibility to do so guilt-free and also as a very conscious choice. The next day I went right back on plan of zero drinks without the feeling of “falling off the wagon.” It’s funny how getting those green circles meant so much to me, but it’s what got me past the challenging stage of sticking to the plan. Now I feel so good physically, and have learned how to talk myself out of drinking, that I feel in control of it and that feels even better!
I started using this app just to be accountable for my behavior. Being retired sometimes you tend to drink a little more because she don't have to go to work and everybody around you is drinking, but I started getting tired of that routine. Turning 65 and wanted to get a little more control of my life. I did dry January last year didn't do it this year, but found with the app and logging in my daily intake. It made me much more aware of my habits and helped me to go down to two maybe three days a week of having two cocktails, if you like and need to pay for something to be accountable, I would highly recommend there are coaches other people who are trying to do the same as you and a great support system.
I had been drinking my way through the pandemic and never questioned my drinking habits. Until I realized I was habitually drinking every night with increases in amount and alcohol content (wine drinker mainly). Sunnyside has given me a plan for my drinking based on the amount of days and drinks that I was currently doing. My goals were to become healthier and also to lose weight. The plan they put in place was more than doable, and also made me much more mindful because there are props to ask you how many drinks you had the night before. I am drinking less and feeling better physically. I highly recommend this app to anyone who wants to take a look at their drinking and make better choices regarding their alcohol habits.
Supportive platform helps you limit/manage alcohol
Have you ever casually mentioned to friends that you should drink less and they waved off your comment? And then one day you and a friend confess you are both “concerned” about yourselves? This app provides a community of other “concerned” drinkers who are willing to be transparent and supportive with each other. I feel like I’m controlling it, rather than it controlling me…or slapping me with guilt, even if I only had two drinks (but swore I’d be dry that day.) No nagging just practical encouragement, relatable and honest story-sharing, and great suggestions on how to be a mindful drinker. There is a “Sunnyside” to limiting alcohol…it’s a non judgmental and temperance approach that is helping me cut down on the number of days AND number of drinks.
I’ve used Sunnyside for a year now. It has helped me so much from free drinking to mindful drinking. That’s the point of Sunnyside — to help you cut down on the number of drinks you might have in any given situation. It’s so easy to say “Sure, I’ll have another glass of wine.” But if you have reached the number of drinks you have allotted for yourself that day, it makes you stop and think about it. It’s rare that I will go over the amount I have allowed myself, but it does happen on occasion and then I will make it up later on during the week by having one less drink. The program keeps me focused and accountable to myself. I really love this program and I have friends who also love it. Try it! You’ll like it!
I love the Sunnyside App so far. I downloaded it and gave the free trial a shot after I had entirely too much “fun” at thanksgiving and woke up with nothing but guilt and regret. I had been wanting to make a change in my drinking habits and that night was my sign. I love the simplicity in the layout and that I can customize my weeks around any social functions or events that I may want to drink at. But overall it’s a great “accountability button”. It helps me to know I’m going in to a planned dry day and hold myself accountable for sticking to it. It’s been so great so far! Also the community platform is wonderful! Everyone can share their thoughts, feelings and stories in a judgement free way. And everyone encourages one another so it’s so nice!
I downloaded a different app to help slow down drinking on the weekends but that one focused on complete abstinence from alcohol which isn’t what I wanted or needed. I really wanted to just cut back and not drink as many days out of the weekend. I couldn’t find any apps that helped with that, all of the ones I found stressed not drinking at ALL. Then, I found Sunnyside which I found out about from Morgan Roos on TikTok! It’s such an amazing app and after having it just about a month I’m down to drinking ONE night out of the weekend, it helps track your drinks during the night and construct realistic goals for yourself! It WORKS!! I definitely recommend to anyone looking to cutback their drinking.
I was looking for help to help me moderate my “heavy” drinking…ok, I thought it was normal, but that was for my family! At age 70, I was pretty set in my ways but willing to try if I could still have ‘some occasionally’ and maybe one day I can, but after reporting in and being accountable for my number of drinks, I could SEE my pattern and honestly, I finally, after 4ish months realized I probably wasn’t going to be able to moderate. This tracking tool was my tool to get the courage to quit, knowing if I fail, I still can succeed. The coaches has been amazingly positive and I continue, and will continue to use this apt to help me stay honest with myself. It gives me great joy to be able to hit 0 every morning. Grand W
I knew I couldn’t pull off a dry January but needed some motivation to cut down on my drinking. The program made me realize how much - money and wine- I was consuming each week! I was able to limit my drinks to a max of two when I did drink and had quiet a few dry days throughout the month. Seeing how much money I saved was a huge motivation! I even tried a few alcohol free wines that I actually liked. No Low Chardonnay is my fav! I had a really bad night and instead of sending stupid texts that I knew I would regret in the morning I went to the app and reached out - what a great community! The words of support and encouragement got me thru without waking up feeling guilty and depressed.
Excellent approach to reducing alcohol consumption
I am new to this app and so far have not sought support other than setting up weekly goals and doing my best to meet them. For me, the experience has been positive so far. I know that I have substantially cut back on my intake AND limited myself to red wine which again reflects a huge change. While I haven’t yet nailed the dry days, I am definitely moving in that direction. I appreciate the positive texts, the absence of judgment, and the requirement to simply answer to the app on a daily basis. It makes me stop and think rather than agonize and set myself up for failure. Many thanks! I expect to continue to improve my particular approach to this very personal challenge!
This app came at a time for me when I really needed it. With a 28 year weekend binge drinking habit, I had several consequences emerging. I had chosen not to take a look at my drinking and just enjoy the good times. Sunnyside has allowed me to take a look at my habits without feeling judged. This was important to me. By just simply applying some mindfulness to my urges and sticking to a number of drinks has been a game changer for me. The habits that led to my over-drinking are diminishing. I’m finding deeper meaning in my social interactions. Im using alcohol appropriately and have none of the guilt the next day. Many of the areas of my life are improving. I know this is a daily journey and im grateful Sunnyside came my way.
The Sunny Side app is really helpful. I realized that I was drinking way too much wine then waking up in the morning feeling bad and it was a vicious cycle that I wanted to get out of. The app that has kept me accountable and has helped me realize how much better I feel when I keep to my limitations. I still can have a little bit of fun but with lot more moderation. The texts that we get every day helps to stay focused. If I go over my limit I don’t feel criticized yet I feel empowered to move forward by the team that responds to keep improving with positivity. I have cut my alcohol consumption by half in a months time, and the app helps to stay committed to that goal, which is a healthy range.
I don’t remember how I first learned about Sunnyside, but I immediately realized that it could help me to cut back on my drinking. My dad was an alcoholic so I am keenly aware of the disease’s devastation. For many years I barely drank at all, but in the last few years I started to go out a few nights a week with friends who liked to sit at the bar in a restaurant and eat dinner there. Between the advent of Covid and my upcoming retirement, I began feeling more stress. With that stress came an increase in the amount I drank, and recently a keen awareness of where this could go. Using Sunnyside gave me a structure and accountability for seriously addressing how much I drank. The support has been wonderful and I feel so much better !
Sunnyside has been that annoying voice in my head (or text on my phone) keeping me on track. I call is annoying because I know what I need to do even though I prefer to follow my wants. Sunnyside is there to remind me to fight those urges and reach my goals. The days I stay honest when exceeding my goal (3 drinks when my goal is 2), I don’t feel shamed. It provides prompts into taking time to evaluate my behaviors and adjust accordingly. I would recommend this app if you are looking to cut back or quit. Like one motivational text reminded me, look not at what I am losing (drinks) but what I am gaining (clear thinking, better rest, improved relationships, etc).
I’ve enjoyed using this app. I’m an introvert, and hate going to meetings, so AA is not in any way appealing to me, but I wanted to cut back on my alcohol consumption without feeling guilty of never quite mastering it. I love wine and all its accoutrements , so ideally I can find a way to enjoy it in moderation. By using Sunnyside I have been able to do this. I feel accountable to myself by registering the number of drinks I have each day, and am able to keep track of when I am overdoing it. I have cut way back on my drinking since using this app, but when I do have a couple glasses of wine from time to time I feel that it’s ok now, and I don’t have to feel ashamed of myself for “failing.”
I started doing this the 1/2/23. I never expected it to work like it does! They are always receptive and answer questions very quickly day or night. It is way more private than any other program I have seen. There is a community in which we can talk and support each other which has really made a difference and there are so many others just like me. I have already save a ton on alcohol and a ton of calories. It pays for itself quickly and I feel so much better about myself. It has made me want to do other things to support my body and I am tracking calories, etc too. I am so grateful that I found this program!
This app is helping me think about drinking instead of just pouring a glass whenever I have the impulse, which I’ve come to realize I was doing before starting Sunnyside about a month ago. I’m not trying to stop drinking, just reduce it quite a bit, and pay attention to when I do drink. On Sunday night, I make my plan for the week, and now I’m up to 5 dry days a week (when I used to drink every day), only drinking Friday and Saturday. I’m sleeping so much better and saving money! The app makes it easy with text reminders, encouragement, and celebrations. There are a lot of interactive features that I haven’t even started using yet. I’m so glad I discovered Sunnyside.
I’ve been using Sunnyside for a few months now and I really like it. I like that I check in everyday which keeps me accountable. I also like that there’s no pressure. It’s all very self motivating. There are coaches available to get you through rough patches if you choose which is super helpful. I’ve cut my daily drinking down to 3 days a week. Having dry days during the week helps me feel better and grateful. It’s all about being mindful and practicing that concept. I blow it every once in awhile, and the world does not stop turning. That too is par for this course. My bigger lesson so far is not to be perfect, but to be better. I highly recommend this app.
I’ve been using the Sunnyside app for about a month and so far I really like the program. It’s easy to use. What I really like about the program is that I have to be accountable for what I’m drinking. I’ve been utilizing the pausing between each drink to log into the app what I drink and it helps me to determine if I really want or need another drink. Taking a moment to pause and think about how I’m going to feel the next day, what my sleep is going to be like really has made a difference in how many drinks I have per day. So far I have had good results using the program and I would recommend it to somebody who’s wanting to cut back or quit drinking.
I’ve been using the Sunnyside app since April 2022. I’ve been struggling with excessive/binge drinking for the better part of 40 years. There aren’t many options short of professional help which I won’t do. I found this app on a google search and decided to give it a try. I love tracking apps so this was worth the investment. For me, success comes when I follow the recommendations to track every drink as they’re drunk. The encouragement that comes back after each tracked drink helps me become more mindful about the next. It’s not rocket science but a way to keep myself on a path I establish. I highly recommend this app for anyone trying to drink more mindfully.
