Worst app ever. I didn’t think it could get any worse and then about a year ago they upgraded it, I was wrong. Easy things like auto fill saving credit cards being able to correct a typo in my name. You can get through it and you can get valid tickets butit’s a painful operation.
I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a worst app since the first iPhone came out. Even the website is completely useless.I signed up for an account on the website and it worked, I try to use that same login on the app and it says no member found. I go through the entire process of picking my movie, my seats, entering my credit card info, and when I try to press submit button does absolutely nothing. Same thing like on the website. I find it extremely asinine that the theater is so luxurious and high-end yet the method to obtain tickets is on the level of having to hire a pigeon courier to the theater for my tickets. I think the absolute worst part of all, is that with all these negative reviews explicitly detailing what the problem is, nobody seems to make a difference in fixing it. I guess I’ll continue going to Cinepolis since I can buy tickets without a pigeons assistance.
You charge $9 for a fountain soda, I think you guys can afford to get this app fixed. It’s barely useable. It took me 3 minutes to enter my credit card expiration date bc the slider/wheel function does not work. The app didn’t save the tickets I was finally able to purchase, good thing they were emailed to me. For the last few days there are no movies showing on the main landing page, I can’t pre-order Thor Love and Thunder even though every other theater is doing pre-sales. There are tons of bugs and it’s been 8 months since there has been a bug fix. Your sales literally depend on this app functioning. The website is unusable as well.
Wow...Big Improvement, nice work! I just noticed this weekend that the website had been updated and now I downloaded the app and was happy to see its new design. Very functional, looks great, fairly easy to navigate, and all of the info I need is there for me. Not only the movie times and purchasing, but my rewards info, all of my purchses, etc...took some time, but it looks great so far and The Lot is by far my favorite local theater all the way around. From comfort, to ease of use, quality screen/employees/food, The Lot has is a step above the rest but at a fair price.
This app is terrible on my iPhone. It doesn’t recognize Apple Pay, so I have to enter the month and day by hand, and THEN, I can’t select the month or year of my credit card, I had to give up and do it through chrome on our desktop, because the website wouldn’t even load on safari. Then every time I order tickets, even though I’m a “Member”, I have to click the box that I read the terms and conditions. Why isn’t that part of my membership? And finally, if I want to buy more tickets, it starts from scratch, and I have to re-choose which theater I want to go to, it doesn’t recognize that I was logged in as a member and remember what my preferred theater is!
Not user friendly. I get repeated error messages and have tried everything. Can’t even put a card on file or use Apple Pay to purchase the movie through the app (or website for that matter). Every time I get movie tickets I have to get my cc out. Don’t get me started on getting credit for purchases made at the theater (for food etc.) I have yet to get credit for those even if I give my # attached to my account. Seems backwards in the age of technology and cards in your wallet to actually have to request a physical card to ensure you receive credit for purchases. Great theater would like a seamless experience please.
Never thought I would be the person who leaves a negative review for an app but here I am. Agree with other reviews. Look beautiful but when trying to complete the ticket purchase, the “slide to pay” function does not work. I have tried several times to no avail. I have had to quit the app and use the regular website. On that note, the website works great. No problems. It just takes longer and I have to log in every single time as opposed to the app which is always logged in. It’s a shame because the app looks great. It just doesn’t work. 😔🙃
I agree with the other reviews that the app is terrible, isn’t user friendly, doesn’t award you the points you earned, crashes often, and has repeated error messages. I feel like if you’re going to change premium prices, you’d have the $$ to develop a decent app. It doesn’t make sense why the company would not concentrate efforts to do so in this day and age as it would most likely drive up sales. Dumb.
I’ve tried many times to purchase tickets on this app. I’m able to select a theatre, showtime, number of tickets and seats. The SLIDE TO PAY feature is trash. I slide from left to right as instructed, and the whole app freezes. I have to log onto my laptop to buy tickets, but the seats I had chosen previously in the app are still reserved and unavailable. So dumb!
THE LOT Rocks, this App was easy to use, reserved my seats, arrived and had a drink at the bar, vibe of Restraunt and Bar area was very chill, then went on to see my movie in luxury reclining seat with amazing food ordered at the press of a button in the arm of my seat. An experience I highly recommend!!!
No Apple Pay or iPhone X support. Phone has been out for over a year...get with the times. Same with Apple Pay. This theater caters to high end consumers and they expect things to work the first time. Hire a real app developer. It shows they don’t care about their customers user experience because they haven’t responded to a single one of these reviews.
This is a top notch experience! The ambience , the setting, food, the drinks!! This app makes it more convenient to enjoy this brand new La Jolla gem! Love that the app has a very easy system to navigate on purchasing movie tickets :)
This app looks beautiful I bought a ticket and it was really easy to navigate and responsive, I didn’t have issues at all, looks very upscale and attractive
I get a repeated "something went wrong" message when I try to access purchases. The App would be better if it allowed purchases to be stored in Wallet and worked with Apple Watch. Apple Pay option does not work.
I have been a member of the lot for some time. I have purchased tickets through the app while a member and I have never seen the 3% back for my purchases. It constantly crashes, and even though I have “my fave theater” marked, sometimes it removes it from the top and just this Friday I needed up buying tickets for the lot in SF when I live in SD.
Tried to get tickets, the app would not register the correct credit card expiration date, then added extra seats, then wouldn’t accept vouchers, then moved my seats... miserable. All of my information was valid and I purchase through apps often, well except this one.
This is such a poor developed app for an expensive movie theater. Not user friendly at all. Can’t even add my credit card to the account. Oh and when you sign up you have to agree to the terms yet there isn’t a link to read them so you don’t know what you are agreeing to 🤦♂️.
The app will not allow me to retrieve my password. When I click the request button to request for my password nothing happens. Also the site will not allow to change your password m. Not user friendly.
You can buy tickets on the app, but you can’t use it to get inside the theatre. I get a “Something went wrong” message every time I try to access purchases. I’ve been telling the theatre about this problem for a year now with no resolution.
Doesn't save card information. Doesn't show purchased tickets. Tells you that payment was unsuccessful, but charges the card. I just purchased tickets twice.
The new app is a terrible update for what used to be a decent experience. I’m very confused by the removal of user accounts. The app appears to be following the food quality & service experience.
Considering the investment in actual theater and venue . To have to rely on foot traffic, since the online portal and app are so buggy as far as tickets and food purchases go.
There is no possible way to redeem points for tickets (NOT SUFFICIENT POINTS), albeit having plenty. The app is always glitching and breaking down. It appears to be optimized for the iPhone 4S, which looks great on my iPhone XS.
They make it impossible to become a member. I still can’t sign up whether on website or on app. Invest in a better tech experience. Deleting this garbage app.

I shouldn't have to clutter up my phone with an app that works for A SINGLE THEATER in my area, but the mobile website sends you in circles unless you do so!

The most basic task of buying tickets takes 10 minutes. You have to enter your credits card info EVERYTIME. Embedded menus don’t have a “Back” button. If you look at the seating for one showtime, and you want to compare to another showtime, you have to start over at the Home menu. Just select the theater, the movie, the showtime, and voila, there’s the seat map. Want to see seating for a different time? Start over. When you want to buy a ticket, you enter first and last name, card number, CCV, Exp date, your phone number, and zip code. If you buy a ticket next week, you have to do this all again. The folks who spec’ed or wrote this app clearly have never used it.
This has to be the WORST movie going experience mobile app I’ve ever seen. No Apple Pay support. No login. No predictive text for name, credit card info, phone number… And who calls it Postal Code in the US. Postal Code is used int he US and Canada. Whoever is the product manager or the company who developed this app needs to be fired. This app doesn’t conform to a single Apple Human Interface Guideline rule or even suggestion. There’s no iPhone Live Activity reminding me how many minutes before I need to be at the theater for the movie. There’s no push notification reminder. It is embarrassing to even have this app on my iPhone. You guys need to get your act in order and give us a properly designed Moving Going app with all of the capabilities I mention above and MORE.
As nearly all the other reviews say, I never receive credit for purchases with the loyalty card. I keep telling it to save my credit card for future purchases and it never does. I can’t renew my membership or update my address or other personal information, these things also apply to the website. Starting today 11/21/19 I got a message saying my loyalty club isn’t active as of 2018 but there isn’t a way to renew. Not only that I keep deleting the message and it won’t stay deleted. AND icing on the cake, I bought the early Black Friday special of 10 tickets for $100 and it said they were delivered to my account but there is nothing there. For a theater that charges over $20 per ticket and presents itself as “luxury” I expect a lot more. The only thing this app can do is allow you to purchase tickets easily as long as you are willing to manually enter your CC every purchase and don’t care if you get loyalty rewards.
