Local News . . . FAST!

Get local news fast and accurate with this app!

Nice app but flawed

It works pretty well. I usually use the two-panel mode with the paper layout view in the left panel and an expanded view of the selected section in the panel on the right. My complaint is that bold sub-heads in the paper selection are not bold in the right panel. If you are looking at a community events listing, it is difficult to sort out the break in events. If this were fixed I'd give it a **** rating.

I gave you a one star because I was on a trial basis with the option to keep the subscription if I wanted too! So I canceled my subscription early like 2 weeks early and the very next day my bank account was charged for full subscription price and you cannot do that..that is stealing so if your going to be a thief then you should at least be honest about it from the start! 🤨😠 not happy at all but I will say you will never get my business for any reason!

Useless customer service.

No notice of renewal. I ended up with a second account. Upgraded?? App won’t allow access to crosswords. Cannot print X -word . Still have old account that says subscription expired. Customer service cannot correct my account back to just one subscription. DUUHH !!!

Stories are varied. Lots of community coverage. Feel good stories that are truly needed now.

Save you subscription $

Got a subscription only to find the software app crashes every time I open it on my iPhone or my iPad. Don't bother with this one or the on- line subscription.

Horrible App

Difficult to navigate, have to scroll through entire enewspaper to find comics as they are not indexed. Difficult to read on phone - screen does not rotate to landscape. Do the developers or editors even use this app?

Great for local news

As one who loves Staunton but lives in Georgia, the NewsLeader keeps me up to date about what’s going on in Staunton.

Good local news app

I can efficiently scan and read news of the day, plus older stories and opinion pieces. Swiping lets you move quickly from story to story.

New Version

Filled with ads and harder to navigate. Has lost its appeal. Can’t print out Word Jumble to solve at my leisure. Will not continue when my intro subscription expires!! Can’t rate accurately as no half star.

Newspaper with no news

One, sometimes two new articles a day. Totally lazy reporting. Hope the print edition is better than this one. Very disappointing

Every since I subscribed to this app i have been getting a lot of spam to my email. Can’t opt out of newspaper emails either.

The content is minimal at best and it’s like dejavu every day. Same content different day. Not worth the money.

Don’t waste your time, just buy a paper.

Everyone time I try to cancel my subscription, I get another charge, and I’m increasing amounts.

A total subscription mess

It's ok but it can be better

I have three devices that I use on a daily basis ; as far as the app itself, it needs improvement. It looks horrible on every device and there are no pictures beside the article. Needs a makeover bad. As far as the newsleader, I have been reading it for years. For now stick with the actual site, the app isn't ready.

Staunton Newsleader

Excellent summary of happenings in and around Staunton. Being from Staunton and living in TN, the Newsleader coverage of individuals' news is interesting and makes me feel at home.

Crashing....

So I've had this app for a while now and it's been great. All of a sudden this week it decides to start crashing on me! It opens, acts like it's going to load, and then BAM! it kicks me out. Please fix this so I can read the news again!

It WAS doing good and THEN…

After the update, I’ve uninstalled AND reinstalled the app and STILL, it tells me I’m not subscribed. I checked, I am. So, I subscribed again ! Now I’m paying $12.99 X 2 and I STILL CANNOT READ SOME ARTICLES for “subscribers only!” What IN THE WORLD!!???
