I really like this local news app - it doesn't seem to be biased as other news apps - and it has more local news which is helpful - and the community calendar is a very nice feature - only issue is that sometimes I cannot forward article to others
I like the app because its about oakland county. The only reason why I only gave it three stars was because I would like if the articles were in order by the time they were published, sometimes the article doesn't load and you have to click it a few times, and it posts repeat articles. If those things were fixed I would give it five stars.
No business section and no search feature. Several articles posted 2, 3, 4 times, and re-posted for several days after as if they're new! No better than their mobile website. Update: it's even worse on weekends!!!! Events section has MOST recent articles over 3 weeks old & for now PAST events!!! 1 star rating because 0 stars isn't allowed
I had deleted previously because the content wasn’t being updated. Gave it another try and they just started requiring a login to read articles. Thank you, but no. Deleted again.
Slow, invasive, no search bar to find the story you're looking for, no local sports tab, several stories are a month old and still one of the top 3 stories in a section. Just an extension of their already poor web page. However, this is worse!
What an incredibly horrible app! Every time I open it it has no new stories, and even though I’m a paying subscriber I cannot read any of the new stories from Facebook without logging in every single time!
My mobile app is stuck on Dec 2 - it won't let me refresh or anything. I only use the creep now as the Oakland Press is unusable. I've tried everything I know to update - my last update before this became stuck was Nov 3, 2015.
I don't understand why it shows doubles of some news stories. Sometimes it will show quadruples of the same exact story. Also I think you should be able to scroll through more stories than what it's currently limited to. Just my 2 cents!
The app is, eh. The article titles are often formatted incorrectly and the app usually has duplicate articles with slightly different titles. Overall, below average. Of course, their web site is very annoying too. Especially the way they do their ads.
Buggy, loads same story multiple times. Needs content update, and old content placed in a archive file. New update worse, content loads very slow or not at all app defaults back to logo. Will not scroll past adds.
Just opened the app and the most recent story is 15 days old! Other featured stories go back a month. Looks like this app is coming off my phone today. Too bad as I like to see local news, but prefer it not be ancient history!
Pro - lists a lot of news items Con - the lines that say to click here for more on the story - well it would be nice if they actually worked. Do not include statements for Click for info or to read the story if you have no intention on letting the user to do so
Where are the articles? If you’re going to offer a headline then at least put the article in so that one can actually read it and not just one sentence. This is the worst news app I’ve ever used.
Nice news source but the ap is not so good. I read the Oakland press stories on Facebook . It seems like it takes a week before they are ever put into the ap. So you have an ap that is only updated weekly.

It’s a hot mess, hard to navigate, old news. Advertising everywhere. Can’t get customer service to cancel my trial subscription! Not returning my calls. Horrible experience.
Worst news app around. Never current. Often duplicates articles. You would think they could develop a decent app since everyone else seems to have one. Zero stars.
Bad app. The app never updates. The punctuation is hideous. The Oakland Press is a terrible newspaper with minimum wage editors (who just so happen to read and edit at a 3 rd grade level), and the app is not any better.
